Red Light, followed by successful deltas in Process chain

Hello,
I have a DELTA dataload the runs in the AM and then again in the PM.  This occurs every day.
2 days ago the load Red lighted.  It loads to an ODS.  I didn't notice this redlight and the chain kept running.  So the subsequent loads were successful, but not activated.
In this case, would the next Delta load that the process chain run automatically be a 'REPEAT' delta?
In which case I can manually force the Total status of the failed load to red and delete from the ODS, and then activate the unactivated successful loads?
Thanks,
Nick

Hello Reetu,
I checked the "Type of Data Update" column in the ODS, and it does not indicate "Repeat Last Delta".
The Failed Data load, did not have any records transferred or added to the ODS.  Also this ODS does not update to any furthur data target.
Because the Failed data load did not have any records transferred or added, is a repeat necessary or can I simply delete that load and activate the subsequent loads?
Thanks,
Nick

  • How to handle delta failed process chain steps

    Hi All,
I have a query regarding process chains were in processstep has delta load and there is dependency between the predeseccor and successor process steps, then
if the delta load fails due to any one of the following reasons
    1) due to remote_icp locked the prtclr Infoobject the process step is executing .
    2) due to any psa records errors and so on
Then how to handle delta and see that correct delta records were updated .
Because again for the nextday loads if the previous delta is incorrect it will give pop-up message that it is not possible.
If any suugestions pl guide me.
    thanks
    Venkat
    [email protected]

1)Remove the lock by force from sm12 or wait till the lock is gone. Then see if the delta data has come till the PSA.Mark failed delta load RED and back it out from target. Then read everything in manually from PSA to target.
In process chains u can go the monitor entry for the failed load by..highlight chain..click log icon..give selection..for proper selection..see the failed node..right click..display messages..click on process monitor.
Sometimes even if infopackage is run successful manually, next steps in the chain do not kick off.
Use Siggi's excellent blog on this..(it works really well)
    /people/siegfried.szameitat/blog/2006/02/26/restarting-processchains
2)Make request RED and back it out from target.
Correct records in the PSA and read everything in manually from PSA to data target.
    Then use Siggi's blog.
If data hasnt come to PSA do a delta repeat.
Always check yesterday's chain run about 1-2 hrs before today's chain kicks off.
    cheers,

  • Reg delta in process chains

    Hi,
I'm doing a flat file extraction. The data flow is from Flat file to ODS and then to cube. I need to create a process chain to automate the process.
As per my understanding, the load from a flat file to the ODS is always Full update. Am I right?
The first load we are planning to do a Full upload manually, after which we plan to automate the process using process chains.
Please provide me with inputs on the steps to create a delta from the ODS to the cube.
    Thanks.
    Darius.

    Hi,
    Welcome to SDN.
You can autmate the process by having the flat file in the appl server. Flat file data source supports delta as well which is also called Pseudo delta.
If you wish to load your flat file in full update you can still load deltas to cube from ODS.
For this, run a inititliazation w/o data transfer from ODS to Cube and then create  a delta IP from ODS to cube.
While creating a process chain, follow this procedure
Start> Load info package ( flat file)> Activate ODS--> Delta IP to Infocube.
    hope this helps

  • Unable to load deltas through Process chain(PC)

    Hello Experts ,
I have scheduled the PC , deltas are not getting loaded from PC.
Load type   : Immediate , periodic updates : for every 30 min.
(ii) Stopped the PC and tried to run deltas manually
Status 0 from 0 records in ODS
also 0 from 0 records in PSA
    RSA3  contains records.
1.Can I load all the deltas without PC. (or)
2.What changes should I take to run deltas through PC.
    Kindly help
    Points will be assigned.

    Hi Vijay,
Your not getting the records into Bw Right. on Which Functional module ur workin in BW ( i.e ur SD,FI,MM) why bcoz if it is other than FI
u have to check R/3 side
    1. "Jobcontrol" has done periodically  for every 30min (why bcoz ur pulling data for every 30min right)  <b>OR</b> Not.
If Jobcontrol has not done u have to to do periodically for every 30 min .
    2. Next u have to pull the data It will work definately.
I am very much sure about this.
<b>Do period Jobcontrol for every 30 min in Source system.</b>
    Thanks,
    kiran.
    IT will work surely.

  • Process Chain Red 'X', Exec Infopckg Yellow, Infopckg monitor/data correct

Dear and respectable colleagues of the forum,
I am experiencing a problem in a process chain when executing infopackages. The process chain has 6 "Execute infopackage" processes. Sometimes (1 of 4 attempts average) my process chain ended with red color with 'X' status in the Process Chain Display Log View.
Reviewing within the chain Log, there is one of the "Execute infopackage" processes that appears in yellow color (it loads from direct update ODS to an infocube). However, revising the Logs for its corresponding Infopackage execution I found that it says that "Data successfully updated". Moreover, If I review the data loaded it seems to have been loaded correctly.
Then, Why does the "Execute infopackage" process in PC finishes with yellow color if the Infopackage execution itself finishes correclty?
To complete the whole scenario: I execute this process chain every night from an Abap program; the program has a Loop that traverses a table, and executes the process chain as many times as the quantity of rows in that table (table has 10 rows meaning offices). As you can understand, the chain is executed 10 times, and the error occurs in any of the 6 "Execute infopackage" processes indistinctly.
I review ST22 and SM37 for all users for the datetime when the error occured butnothing bizarre was reported. It is left to review SM21.
The following is the detail of messages.

    Dear s v desh,
I am on SAP BW 3.5, I already checked the cube and it is green - all right.
The message in the infopackage excution node in the process chain says (non-error):
      "Data successfully updated"
The error message in process chain monitor (log) says:
......"Overall status: Error occurred: or: Missing messages
    ............Process Chains : Errors occurred"
I just realized that there is no messages at all in the infopackage monitor (log).
I have received a clue, someone asked me to review note 1396417, and I will.

  • To Make Process Chain Green From Red

    Hi Guys,
can any one help in this..
i have a one Process chain at one step i.e DTP got failed and the below steps got success. i manually executed that DTP because the below steps are already successed.
Now in the Process chain it shows that DTP step is failed and other steps are success and Process chain is showing as RED, now i want to make that Process chain as Green. what i need to do?
i did the following steps even it is showing red in the RSPCM screen.
    i_logid
    i_type
    i_variant
    i_instance
    i_state as 'G'
in the se37 using function module RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH
    Thanks,
    Naresh

    hi,
you cannot change the status of the process chain as one of the step in it is red and the status of that red step was not changed. Why do you want to change the status of the chain? do you want to trigger some other chain, if yes then the Se38 program would have already triggered it. If you only want to change it to green to see it in RSPCM it is not possible.
    regards,
    Arvind.

  • How to set delta load in process chain

    hello all
The scenario is i created process chain for transaction data and all the infopackages are in initial load now I want to do delta, how to set delta in process chain, bcoz only the new records should load?
    kindly anyone let me know.
    regards
    balaji

    Hi Balaji,
In most projects thay dont have the "init" infopackages in the process chain. They have 2 infopackages for a load - One for init and the other for delta. Now that you have created the process chain what I suggested was to change the infopackage settings to delta load and change the description of the infopackage.
The other option would be to create a new infopackages for delta and include them in the chain replacing the "init" ones.
    Bye

  • Inf reg process chains design

    Hi All,
My process chain is done succesfully.. I followed as
    Main Chain
    Start->Delete Data (3ods)->Load data(3ods)->Activate(3ods)-> And(all success ful)->2local process chains(series to and) -> Materdata Load(parallel to and)->Attribute change run
Local Process chain 1: ( Data loads from ods to cube)
    Start->delete index(cube)-> load data(6 info packages)
Local Process Chain 2: (Data loads from Flat File to Cube)
    Start->load Data(another 6 Info Packages)->and(condition)-> delete Index(cube).
Now tell me in design why am getting too many parallel processes for chosen sever
    MSg NO:RSPC118
why these warnings are comming? give some light on this
    regards
    ashwin

    Hi ashwin,
Too many parallel processes for chosen server
    Message no. RSPC118
    Diagnosis
On the server you have chosen, there are only 4 batch processes available. The process chain has been designed in such as way that 5 processes must be processed parallel.
    System Response
Only 4 processes can be processed parallel. Note also that to be able to start sub-chains, AT LEAST TWO free batch processes must be available. Otherwise a lock situation may arise.
For more information, see SAP Note 621400.
    Procedure
Reduce the number of parallel processes in the chain or include sub- chains. This warning applies to all relevant processes.
    Procedure for System Administration
Increase the number of batch processes available. You should note however that it makes no sense to set up more batch processes than there are CPUs on server .
    Suggestions:
You may created your Process Chain with 5 parrllel lines or more..You don't free Background Process Available in the server where it is running. I think you have only 4 Background Process Available.
    code
    Start Variant
    Variant 1 Variant 2 Variant 3 Variant 4 Variant 5
    Variant6 variant 7 Variant 8 Variant 9 variant 10
    You can replace it as..
    Code
    Start Variant
    Variant 1 Variant 2
    Variant3 Variant 4
    Variant 5 Variant6
    variant 7 Variant 8
    Variant 9 variant 10
    do's:
1.You can change your Process Chain Model
2.You can increase background Process on your System.
3.You can keep it like this if you are working Development. Your Production will have Extra processes.
    Hope this helps,

  • Process Chain failing

We are having a system wide problem and I'm confused on the following.  We started a process chain during the early morning (00:15) and during the first step the system network went down and the app servers and chain are hanging. This first step in the chain is to drop the cube indexs. This is where its hanging. The next step in the chain is loading the delta records. My question is how can I stop this chain to prevent the delta records loading during the day assuming the index delete step actually finishes. I would like to stop the chain, and let the process chain run again tonight as normal.
Any help will be appreciated and rewarded with points.
    Thanks
    Richard

    Hi richard,
As soon as the delta load starts, make it red in monitor and cancel the job in the source system. Then delete the request in data targets, and your next load should be able to pick this delta as well as new records.( since monitor status is red ).

  • How to reschedule process chain?

    hello experts,
i just want to know about when we run process chain,if there is an error with some infopackage to load the data into data targets,at that particular time how should i resolve the problem to start the process chain at that situation.
    dilip kumar reddy.T

    Hi Dilip,
Once an Infopackage in a Process chain fails, you hvae to identify the error message and correct the load.
After this when you goto the process chain Log you will either See "Repeat" option when you rightclick on the Errored IP or at the Next step. You have to click on the Repeat option to let the process chain complete.
There are few things that you need to concentrate here.
Before you press REpeat, please ensure that the error has been corrected and the Load has been successfully loaded into the datatarget.
If you dont find the Repeat option, and that you have ensured that the Error has been corrected, you can use the following function module to Restart from where the process has failed
    RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH
For this function module you ahve to supply the
    Process chain name
    Process Variant
    Instance id
You can get all the above values from the Process chain log, when you rightclick and "Display Messages" and goto the "Chain" tab
    You have to supply Field
I_STATE = G or F to make the Status of RED to GREEN(completed) so that the process chain continues from the next step in the chain.
    REgards,
    Praveen.

  • Process chain failed due to activation of a DSO

    Hi friends,
Three four days back the process chain has been failed due to the activation error. The issue was with data and i have deleted the request in manage screen and reloaded again as repeat of delta with corrections in PSA. Which is afterwards activation is successful. Now process chain is getting failed daily saying that request is not present in the DSO( Request is no longer exists in the DSO ). But manual activation of DSO is successful.
Please help me in this reagrd.
    Regards,
    anil
PS: I tried by removing process chain from scheduling and rescheduling back.

    Hi........
Deleting request from the PSA will not help............what is the update mode of ur ODS..........if it is overwritten............then no probs...load the request again in the target...........if not..........then do one thing...........push the request again in the target.........then...........make the QM status red................then delete the request again............just check whether u face the same issue again or not...........
Generally we face this issue............suppose we load a delta request successfully in the target.........then we delete the request without making the QM status red............and after that next delta also loaded............then while activation...............it will ask for the deleted request...........I think there is some confusion...........and u can try the trick..............it may work............

  • Error in process chain (psa data)

We have got an error in our PROCESS chain for master data.
    Info object Name : 0customer
In that it was showing  there was error in our request. When I wanted to correct data in the request there it was showing no error records. All the records are good  and  also it is showing as error in request. I have deleted the request from infoobject and also from the PSA. And the last updated good request is also showing error as No data packets available for the request .
0Customer is delta update ; Process chain is daily based.
My doubt is whether the records in the deleted requests will be reloaded again from sap R/3 into PSA, as requests during Process chain or not.
While monitoring the request details in Monitor u2013 Administrator Work bench, it shows the following:
    1.     Requests (messages) Everything Ok
    2.     Extraction (messages) Missing messages
    3.     Transfer (IDocs and TRFC) Missing messages
    4.     Processing (data Packet) No data
    5.     Process chains : Everything Ok.
Even after deleting the requests my process chain is not getting updated.
Kindly help me in solving the above problem
    Regards
    Padma

    Hi,
Once deleted the request, try to manually trigger the load and see whether it completes. if it completes and pulls reocrd then you can push the chain process ahead with the program RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH
