Red Triangle Notification

A notification popped up on my phone thats a red triange with what looks like a white "I" inside of it. It has number beside it that keeps changing. It started with 74 and has jumped to 73, 70, 72, and back to 73. Can't figure out what it means or how to get rid of it.

It sounds like it's a 'Roaming' notification. This is from another forum, so I can't take any credit, but it's worth a try.
ok i just got rid of it. i figured it had to be wifi related since it popped up when i was setting up a wifi network. i turned wifi off, the symbol went away. turned it back on, it came back. i deleted the wifi network i was currently connected to and set it up all over again (a diff one than the one that caused it). after this, i rebooted and reconnected to the wifi network. the indicator is now gone. kinda strange.
• How to get the sum in appropriate column without a red triangle appearing?

Hello,
In 'Numbers" - How do get columns to add (calculate) the sum in each decending column on an Expense Report.
When I highlight the decending column the total appears on the far left of the screen.  When I drag the sum amount from there to the appropriate column a red triangle with an ! appears instead of the amount.
Thanks for your immediate help.

The red triangle is an Error triangle. Clicking it will display the error message and tell you what error has occurred. From your description, my assumption is that you dragged the SUM() function from the quick calculations at the lower left and dropped it intto a cell in the column being summed.
If that's the case, this is likely the error message you would see:
When you highlighted the 'decending column,' you likely selected all of the cells in that column, including the one into which you dropped the function.
Instead, do one of the following. These assume the column you want to sum is column B.
If you want the sum at the top of the column:
Make sure the row you want the sum to appear in is a Header row.
Enter this formula into any Header Row cell in column B:   =SUM(B)
If you want the sum at the bottom of the column:
Add a Footer row to the table. (Go Table (menu) > Footer Rows > 1).
Enter this formula into the Footer Row cell in column B:   =SUM(B)
SUM (and other functions) that expect a range of cells will interpret a cell reference entered using only the column letter (B) as meaning 'all of the non-header, non-footer cells in column B', and will exclude those cells in header or footer rows.

• How do I check if a cell is an error (Red triangle)?

How do I check if a cell contains an error (Ie. a red triangle)? I can't seem to find an apropriate function, nor an answer using the search function on this board (Nor Google).
Otherwise I'll have to do a ton of IF functions to fix it...

Hi David,
"How do I check if a cell contains an error?"
To check if a cell contains an error, you look at the cell. If it shows a red triangle, it contains an error.
Do you mean 'How do I fix an error?"
That depends on what the error is. You start by clicking the error triangle to view the error message.
If it says "The formula contains a syntax error," you examine the formula carefully to find the syntax error, then correct the error. The most common source of syntax errors in complex formulas is misplacing one or more parentheses.
If it says "bad reference" you examine the cell references in the formula to see if one or more is beyond the boundaries of the table referenced.
Other error messages require other detective work.
Can you clarify the issue with more specific details? What do you mean by "an appropriate function"? Appropriate to what purpose?
Regards,
Barry

• Red triangle/exclamation point on text thread

About a week ago, when I'd open up the menu listing all of my text threads with various people, I noticed a red triangle/exclamation point icon showing up next to the name of one person.  A few days ago, I began experiencing trouble opening up this particular thread; I would just get the "loading" message.  My friend has been able to send me texts, I just can't open them.  Any idea what this might be and why it seems to be affecting only one text thread?  Thanks!!

I ended up calleing tech support and the problem was that I had not deleted any of my texts and I didn't have enough space.  I deleted old messages and the problem is solved.

• Calendar Red Badge Notifications

Hi all, new iPhone user here.
Could someone please tell why I am not getting red badge notifications on the calendar icon. This is really frustrating!

Thanks,
I don't/can't have MS exchange as the set up for outlook emails as they are via BT and in pop format 9correct me me if wrong) I only meant it was a bit of a pain as I would have thought the red badge should appear for any entry put in the calendar inrespective of the service it goes though. After all does the notification come from the info stored on the phone?
As for third party apps, I was hopeing that things like RSS and twitter items would show which they don't seem to (I am using Fee RSS and Twitbit) I don't have to many subscriptions through these so red blindness would not be a problem but it would be nivce to know when stuff come in without checking periodically.
Perhaps I am doing this all wrong do you have any hints or suggestions.
Many thanks
Andrew

• I am trying to add text to the I photo book inside the which indicate the boundaries but a red  triangle has appeared. for             indicate the boundaries for such text, however there is a small red triangle appearing to say that I have too much text.

I am trying to add text to an I photo book project. I have entered the text inside the blue lines which indicate the boundaries but have got a red triangle showing I have exceeded the text. Any ideas please?

Check the font size, if it's just a little too close to the top of the box, it will reject it.

• Avoiding Red Triangle issues in VLOOK

Hi All,
I am using this line -
=VLOOKUP($A2,Pupil Grades :: $A$34:$P$38,COLUMN(),FALSE)    -   (FALSE has replaced EXACT MATCH for some reason)
The problem is, if a child was missing or there is no data against a looked up entry - i get a red triangle. I have tried to use IFERROR, but that does not seem to work.
Could anyone suggest how to avoid a red triangle when there is no corresponing data.
Thank you.

Gwyn,
vlookup takes several arguments:
VLOOKUP(search-for, columns-range, return-column, close-match)
search-for is what to lookup
columns-range is where to look for the item search-for
return-columns is the column relative to the first column in the range defined by columns-range
close-match determines HOW vlookup returns values
with close-match (the last argument) set to FALSE you are asking vlookup to return an error if if cannot find an exact match.
you SHOULD be able to use the iferror() function.
I suggest something like:
=IFERROR(VLOOKUP($A2,Pupil Grades :: $A$34:$P$38,COLUMN(),FALSE), "")
OR
=IFERROR(VLOOKUP($A2,Pupil Grades :: $A$34:$P$38,COLUMN(),FALSE), "Not Found")
If this doesn't work please post back with a screen shot showing the problem cell along with the error

• Wondering what the red triangle/green tick and back to back blue arrows signify in my Cloud files.

Not related to sync or other status

The green tick and blue arrows are explained in CCloud help (RTFM) - the red triangle is not explained.

• Red triangle over black when creating new solid

IfI create a new blue solid in a comp, the layer comes up black with a red triangle over it and I can't see anything on the layer. If I apply a plugin like Particular to the layer, it is invisible.
This just started happening after creating layers in a composition to be used for optical flares.
You will notice in the attched phot that the layer solid is supposed to be red- not black...
any ideas?

• Red triangle Book problems

Did a book, no problems, duplicated it and changed the theme and have got a few red triangles with no iundication why? Also some photos had text benmeath them in the previous theme, this theme has no text but the text from the original; theme has appeared in place of page numbers and scrambled ?
Any ideas?

The low resolution warning means, that the pixel size of the photos is too small for the size of the photo box on the page. As a test, move one of the photos to a smaller photo box, for example, from a page with one photo to a page with four photos. Does the triangle vanish? If yes, then scan the potos again with a larger pixel size or use smaller photo boxes, see:

• Email: red ball notification

Little red ball is displayed over my hotmail envelope once new email arrived and when I scroll over shows how many unopened messages I have. No red ball, no numbers for my new outlook email. Do I need to change some setting or it's gonna be "remove your battery" fix?
Thanks

No what I think he is saying is that he is receiving mail but not the red ball notification. I had the same issue but it went away after the battery was removed and replaced

• A Little Red Triangle

Hello, I'm wondering if you can help me.
I have had my BlackBerry for just over a year now and it's been fine. But, a problem has just strated to occur and has been happening for the past two and a half months. A red traingle is on the right-hand side of my battery bar and it's stating that I am in a different country. I can access BBM and Facebook because I am connected to my internet server. But when I am out of the house and still "roaming" it only lets me send SMS' and call people.
I don't know how to fix this problem and have tried desperately to get rid of it! Someone please reply quickly!
Thank you.

Please look at your Manage Connections screen > Mobile Network.
Look at Data Services, is that set to ON, Off , or Off when roaming?
Do you have your Mobile Network checkmarked to be on?
When you are out of the house, not connected to WiFi, what is the mobile signal indicator at the top right of the home screen?

• Red Triangle warning iPhoto book

Help, I have looked at the discussions but nothing seems to help.
I have save the book as pdf to see how it looks but nothing shows wrong on that either.
I am using latest iPhoto 11 to make a photo album/book to print for relatives. The format
looks good for both text and photos
