Red/White/Yellow Cables Splitter???
Does this exist? We are looking for a way to get the tv fully set up and not have to worry about playing the switcheroo game. We have the cable, dvd player, wii, and a roku that all need to be hooked up to this tv with these plugs. The tv isn't exactly new but it does have 2 of these ports, but the one in the front has developed a short on the red one I think. It likes to blink if it is bumped or is on too long. I'd like to hook all of these items up to the back ports and have them be hands free no worries. Then save the front port for the occassional plug and play game. If anyone has any ideas that would be great!
It sounds like you want a combiner, not a splitter.
There's no good way to "handsfree" combine composite video signals. However, you can get a switch box that will let you change inputs with the press of a button. (A lot easier than yanking/reconnecting cables on the back of the TV!)

Why can't I connect iPod to car stereo with red/white RCA cables?
I have red/white/yellow RCA (I think that's the name of them) plugs in my car stereo and I bought a cable to connect it to my iPod. It's the small plug (3.5 I think) on one end and a split 'Y' that's red and white on the other. The people and my car dealer connected a cell phone that is also a music player to it and it works, but it won't work with the iPod connected. The dealer thought it should be able to work with my iPod, but doesn't know why it won't. Are iPods able to connect to a car stereo this way. Is there another special cable that I need to get?
No, I should think that would work fine. I have a splitter like that connected to my hifi and no issues...you would want to make sure the volume on the iPod is up all the way; I don't know what car stereo you have, but possibly it's a setting on there that isn't right?

If you want to use the Composite input on your TV there’s no Mini DisplayPort to Composite. The only adapters with Composite are the older Mini-DVI adapters. (Composite is the red, white and yellow RCA plugs on your TV or red, white and S-Video plugs.).

Yellow Red White connections on Old Sony DVD
Can I connect Apple TV to the Yellow - Red - White input connections on the Video input (Aux Video 2) of the Old Sonly DVD surround home theater?
Second, can I correlate the Y R W connectors from Sony to the R B G jacks on the Apple TV?
Do I need another type of cable to connect Apple TV to Sony video?

You cannot do it with just the YRW jacks. At most you will just get black and white. If you don't have a media center that has the right ports or a tv with the right ports, not much you can do but upgrade one of them.

How can I download video from a Canon ZR30 video camera to my IMac? I have Elgato Video Capture, but the provided connectors are loose in the camera and the camera does not have a white female end. No signal shows up on the computer when I connect the red and yellow connectors.
Broken solder joints on the camera me thinks!!

I have a apple component AV TV out cable (red, green,blue + red,white) and have had this connected to TV for about 6 months working fine. I moved the TV disconnected cables to move now I can only get video and no sound back on TV. Any suggestions ?

I have a 2 year old Lenovo G550 laptop, system model 20023 ( Dual-Core CPU T4300 2,10Ghz, 3,00GB RAM) running 32-bit Win 7 Home Premium OS with graphic card Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family.
Month ago, I started getting 2 vertical lines on my screen, which change colors and tend to disappear when I tilt it. Recently, problem graduated to red, blue, yellow specks all over the screen. Tilting no longer works, but I noticed a definite relationship with the degree of pressure on the case. When I push hard enough on the left spot below the case (where hard disk is located), the problem resolves completely. I also tried plugging another monitor in and there seems to be no problem either. Please, help.

Go to Solution.Graphic card issue sounded highly unlikely with the external monitor image appearing to be normal. I tried reseating the lcd cable and it fixed the problem.

i have a ipad 1 tried to turn it on as normal and got itunes logo with a white plug cable on screen and it will not turn on i have tried to update on itunes but it wont let me so i tried restore and it comes up with a message saying "ipad could not be restored" An unknown error occured(9) i have checked that my cable is working which it is and i have uninstalled itunes and downloaded again and still cannot figure it out can anybody help please thanx ?

Try a different usb cable, try a different usb port, disable any security or anti virus software. Try a different computer. -
Need to ID G4 part:socket came off logic board (blue & white power cable
In the course of disassembling a G4 iBook the socket for the blue & white power cable wiring harness broke off the logic board.
I am trying to learn the correct desciption of this part so I can find a replacement. The wires on the bottom which were soldered to the board broke off.
Even after it was broken off, and I had leverage, I had to use two pairs of pliers to get the plug out of this socket. It should never have been assembled so tightly.Spud-- I'm going to use conductive epoxy; I don't have access to anyone with micro soldering skills.
re previous posts -- unfortunately the Search logic is not precise enough to ask about this particular connector. Any search containing "logic board" gets swamped with the famous failure issue.
I went to an electronics specialty store and they didn't have any connectors of that style, let alone size. I'd like to replace the socket so I can use the existing plug on the blue & white wire.
Last night I spend some hours surfing "connector" etc and didn't see any photos that matched it on any distributor/manufacturer sites. So I'm still wondering what the correct descriptive word is, as used in the trade.
My "backup" iBook G3/Panther is taking about 30 seconds to load an average web page though. Spinner locks it up while loading one at a time. Wonder if installing Tiger and a newer Safari would help? I just got a chip to max out the memory, still have to install it.
For those who haven't seen it, the plug is a solid rectangle with two holes; the socket has a rectangular single cavity with two prongs sticking up from the bottom. TINY, THIN prongs.
The socket bottom has no leads on it (anymore). They are broken off flush with the plastic on the bottom. I was thinking of using a dental burr to grind into them, creating a small cavity, and then using conductive epoxy. I don't know if the bottom plastic is thick enough; if I go too far then it would ruin the prongs sticking up in the cavity.
But I could epoxy a wire stub, as long as possible to still fit into the space above the board & below the top of the shield/case. Then epoxy each wire to the pad on the board. The pads are about 1 mm x 2 mm or less, and worse, the gap between them is under 1mm wide. I'll have to goop some insulating silicone putty in that gap before putting tiny dabs of epoxy on the pads.
I bought some larger socket/plugs at the store, the socket part has no leads in it though. These sockets are they type that use the wire lead of the style shown in your photo of the repaired plug. I also got some different ones with flat prongs.
I'd like to move the connection point from the board to under the case top -- the blue & white wire runs all the way from the other side of the case. I just need a thin enough connector. Worst case -- leave as much slack wire length as possible and solder a Western Union splice.
If I can epoxy leads to the board without shorting between the pads I can figure something out. Need to carefully estimate the space available. Or as you say, just make some prongs.
You say #26 is the right wire gauge -- that's vital data. I don't want to undersize the power leads !
I'm also going to paint non-conductive coating on the board around the pad area, so I can slop the epoxy without worrying about shorting a trace. I've had to do some scraping to remove the gummy gluey stuff -- I presume its silicone adhesive of some kind.
There is some sort of test connection right above this area, with two little prongs sticking up. Marked "J1." The traces look like they go to the socket. I wonder if they use that to use alligator clips to power up the board during assembly testing? That location is much, much larger than the pads for the socket. -
How do I make the red-green-yellow icons and the text in window title bars larger?
The title text is a little too small to just see - I have to concentrate on it to read it - and I can't tell the red-green-yellow icons apart without staring at them. Yes, my sight is quite poor; I'm already sitting as close as I can.

The first thing to know is that a yellow bar isn't a sign of a problem (nor is a red bar, necessarily).

Note the uses of the word probably above. The colors aren’t a promise. They’re a guess based on some rather simple criteria. If you have a fast computer, then a lot of things marked with red may play back in real time; if you have a slow computer, then some things marked with yellow may need to be rendered to preview files before the segment can be played in real time.This is not the work of a virus, or any other kind of malware. What it sounds like is a very badly corrupt hard drive causing all manner of corruption in your various system components and applications. You probably need to erase your hard drive and reinstall the system from scratch, as ds store has said.
If you actually had malware, Sophos would find it. If Sophos found nothing, there was almost certainly nothing to find. If something like Sophos ever should find malware, unless the malware has "OSX" or "MacOS" in the name, it probably isn't Mac malware and thus isn't something you need to worry about (other than not passing it on to other people).

Red green yellow buttons in iTunes 10
OK, I upgraded to iTunes 10 awhile back and noticed the buttons in upper left corner of window are gray and not red green yellow. I have searched the web for fixes and came up with two

These work to make the vertical to horizontal, but the color is still gone. What is the terminal entry for getting the color buttons back. Not really concerned with the icons being color at this time but would like the corner buttons color.

Handling colour: working in red, white and black
I've got a music video project which was shot (HDV) in very rich colour in the inside of an old car with red leather seats, and it's well styled. I want to do something a little different with the colour in post - by saturating the reds, whites and blacks and desaturating the rest, to land up with an un-natural look that will suit the style of the production. Is there a way to selectively desaturate and work with colour in certain frequency spectrums rather that mids/highlights? This tends to put a colour cast over the entire image, which I don't want.

I Don't think Microsoft updated it for those buttons. Look for a blue button with arrows in it on the right side of the menu bar.
