"Redact blocks" available in which version of Acrobat?

I need to decide which version of Acrobat to purchase for a very specific purpose that required the use of "Redact blocks" within the "Mark for redaction" menu.  From what I can gather, this is not available in the "Standard" versions, only in the "Pro" versions.  Is  this correct?  Is it available only in "Pro DC" or also in Acrobat XI Pro?  Thank you.

Hi,
The redaction tool is available in both Acrobat XI Pro and Acrobat Pro DC.

  • Which versions of Acrobat reader supports embedded Flash content?

I was wondering which versions of Acrobat supports Flash files (or Flash content) that might be found embedded within PDF files?
Specifically, does version 6, 7 or 8 have this capability?

The wikipedia entry for Adobe Acrobat says this regarding Acrobat reader version 9:
"Insert FLV (Flash) or H.264 video for direct playback in Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader."
The way I read that, it says that the ability to handle pdf files with embedded flash content was introduced with Acrobat reader version 9, and did not exist in earlier versions of Acrobat reader.
So are you sure that older Acrobat reader versions (specifically, version 6) is capable of correctly handling flash content embedded within a pdf file?

  • How do I choose which version of Acrobat will be updated?

I have a Mac Pro with one hard drive dedicated to nightly clone backups of my main drive. When the Adobe Acrobat Updater tells me that an update "to version 11.0.02 is available. Do you want to install it now?" How can know and/or choose which version it will update?
Because the cloned backups are stable in their environments, I only want to update the one on my main drive.
    Thank you.

  • PDF Forms - Which versions of Acrobat / Reader do they work in?

I'm trying to persuade a client to start using pdf forms that I've created in the latest Adobe Acrobat Pro.
I've tested the forms using Adobe Reader 8 & 9 on the Mac. The two versions work differently but I've come up with a work-around solution that means I can give the same advice to users of both versions of Reader.
But I could do with knowing if pdf forms work in earlier versions of Acrobat / Reader? Macs & PCs?
And if they don't work, what sort of warning will come up on screen? Ie. Will it say that they need to upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader and give a link? - which would be good! Or will some other error message come up that will just cause confusion?
Has Adobe published any advice anywhere?

The Forms Creation where you use filliable forms that can be saved and attached to email, (500 returns max - using the Advanced > Extend Features in Reader). Works also in version 7 or reader. Nothing below 7 will work.

  • Selecting which version of Acrobat to use when opening a pdf

I have a user who has Acrobat 5, 6, & 7 installed on his 10.3 system (don't ask me why - he just does).
If you do a GetInfo on a .pdf document, Acrobat 5 is listed as the default (which is what he wants).
However, if he uses Safari and clicks on a link to a .pdf document, it opens the document (in Safari) using Acrobat 7. He wants it to open the document external to Safari using Acrobat 5.
How can he set this (there doesn't seem to be a setting to control it).?

I did see another thread on how to disable the plugin:
Trash the file /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/AdobePDFViewer.plugin and restart Safari.
This did exactly what I was looking for.

  • OFM Forms 10.1.1.5 is no longer available. Which version to install?

    Hello!
I need to install Oracle Forms Builder to develop in Forms in Windows XP.
    2 questions:
    1. I have installed the version 10.3.5 of WebLogic in Windows XP.
What version of "OFM Forms and Reports" I have to install? OFM Forms 10.1.1.5 is no longer available.
    2. If I have access to a Oracle remote database, do I need to install RCU ?
    Thanks!

Oracle Forms 11g (11gR1 and 11gR2) is the only version of Forms supported with Oracle WebLogic Server. According to Oracle's certification matrix for Forms 11.1.2.1 (the latest version available) http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/oracle-forms-111210certmatrix-1886127.xls , Windows XP 32-bit is supported. I would recommend installing Oracle Forms version 11.1.2.1 to use with WebLogic 10.3.5. You can find the download location for Forms 11.1.2.1 at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/downloads/index.html. If you were looking to remain in Forms 11gR1 (11.1.1.x), only Forms 11.1.1.6 and 11.1.1.7 are supported with WebLogic 10.3.5.
Also, if you plan to just use Forms (and Reports too), installing schemas with RCU is not required. All that is required is a TNS connection to your remote database using the tnsnames.ora file. In Forms by default, the %ORACLE_INSTANCE%\config directory is the default deployment location.
    Thanks,

  • Which Version of Acrobat is supposed to come with CS6

I finally installed my purchased copy of CS6 and found that Acrobat X (10.1.1) was installed not the Acrobat XI I expected. Is this due to my having an old copy of the CS6 DVD or was Acrobat XI never included and if I want it, I have to make a separate purchase?
    Thank You.

With Adobe cretive suite 6 you will get Acrobat Professional X.
Acrobat Professional XI is presently available on subscription, you can purchase subscription from http://creative.adobe.com/plans

  • Which version for OS9.2

Which version of ACROBAT do I need to run on a G3 Powerbook (Pismo) using OS9.2? I want to make pdfs of QUARKXPRESS (version 5.1) files.

    phil;
Here are a couple of notes regarding Acrobat 5.0.5 installation, PPD file information and the AdobePS 8.x printer file requirements. Once these are installed, you should be able to see the Adobe printer icon in the Chooser panel:
    "Installing Acrobat on Mac OS
In addition to Adobe Acrobat, the Acrobat installer includes the AdobePS 8.7 printer driver and a set of Distiller® PostScript® Printer Description (PPD) files. Before using Distiller to create PDF files, you may need to select a PPD file for the printer you intend to use.
    To install Acrobat (Mac OS):
1 Insert the Adobe Acrobat CD into your CD drive.
2 Double-click the Install Adobe Acrobat 5.0 icon.
3 In the Adobe Acrobat Installer dialog box, click Continue to move past the introduction. Follow the on-screen instructions to select a language and accept the license agreement.
4 Specify the type of installation you want:
    - To use the standard installation, choose Easy Install from the pop-up menu. This installs the program files for Acrobat, Acrobat Distiller, PDFWriter, Adobe PS, Create Adobe PDF, standard plug-ins, and the online documentation.
    - To install only particular components, choose Custom Install, and select the components in the list box. You can include any of the components in Easy Install, plus support for PDF documents with Asian-language files.
Acrobat attempts to launch in the language of the operating system. If you have installed a European language, you can have Acrobat launch in that language. Choose Edit > Preferences > General > Display in Acrobat after installing, and choose the language from the Application Language pop-up menu. The change takes effect the next time you start Acrobat.
For a description of any component that can be installed, choose Custom Install to see a list of the components, and click the I button to the right of the component you want in the list.
5 Click Install, and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. When the process is complete, a message tells you that Acrobat is installed. You can register as part of the installation process, or cancel the registration when prompted and do it at a later time.
6 Click Restart to restart your computer.

  • Which version of Adobe Acrobat is needed to read .pdf files on the iPhone?

I have Blackbaud's iBBDemo4.exe iPhone simulator for Windows XP. I'm trying to view/read various .pdf files with it. I received an error message that says, "file uses a new format that is not supported by the current version of Acrobat." Does anyone know which Acrobat version is needed for .pdf files on the iPhone and/or iPhone simualtor?

The iPhone has it's own built in PDF reader, and doesn't need Adobe Reader. So if your simulator software isn't working then I suggest you contact Blackbaud's support. Besides, Adobe doesn't make an iPhone version of Reader.

Which version of sql server 2012 or 2014 is best for sharepoint 2013.. Any excellent comparision available please let me know..i mean enterprise version BI version or standard version.. i just need a detailed comparison if available please thank you

As of right this very second, SQL Server 2014 is not supported. SharePoint 2013 supports:
    One of the following:
The 64-bit edition of Microsoft SQL Server 2012.
The 64-bit edition of SQL Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1
Hardware and software requirements for SharePoint 2013
Edit: I may be mistaken. It looks like the April 2014 CU adds support for SQL Server 2014. If this is the case generally going with the latest SQL Edition provides you with the latest SQL functionality. I'm not aware of any SharePoint features that would
make use of functionality that is new to SQL Server 2014 but this could change with a future service pack.

  • Why is the Adobe Download Assistant so small and NOT functional? I want to download a trial version of Acrobat Standard XI to no avail???

What's wrong with the Download Assistant? Does it really need to exist? Another layer that wastes more time that Adobe's luck they're not paying for... Why isn't Acrobat XI standard trial available?

If you have issues with the Download Assistant, you can download trial versions of Adobe software without the Download Assistant thru the following site, but there is no trial version for Acrobat Standard versions (I cannot answer why that is).  ‘DDL’ Articles at ProDesignTools
