Reddish tint in xperia z2 display

I have a reddish tint in my xperia z2 display. I didnt notice this until I compared it with a z2 my friend has. In his phone the whites are perfectly white while I have a red tint which is viisible when I put the two phones side by side. I was able to adjust this by messing with the white balance settings. But now I can't get it off my head. Why does my display have a red tint with default settings and my friend who has the exact same phone has perfect whites also in default settings. Is my device faulty? should I return it?

True, if I adjust the blue and green slides a bit I can get mine to look "normal". however when using the default settings, when you put the phones side by side the red tint is clearly visible and I woudn't call it a "slight" calibration difference. I went to a another mobile shop and compared it with one of the Z2 phones they had in stock and as I expected the red tint is still visible in mine. Should I just adjust the RGB slides and call it a day or should I claim warranty or something?

  • Reddish tint on front camera glass on Nokia 808 Pu...

Some time ago I replaced the somewhat broken case of my Nokia 808 Pureview with other one, used, but in good physical condition. Everything went ok, no problem here.
There is a strange thing however: the front camera glass of the "new" case has a slightly reddish tint, whose color resembles a skylight photo filter. It can be observed quite well in the attached images (in the one with both, the "new" case is on the left).
I am unable to spot a difference in colors of the photos taken before and after case change, but that doesn't mean much. The colors of the 808 were never on my favorite side (I always prefer the N8 colors, but this is also a matter of taste) and those taken with the xenon flash have a pink white tendency almost all the time (especially on subjects having lot of white) – but that was the same with the "old" case also.
My question is – was this physical optical adjustment intentionally made by Nokia at some point ? Or this is something common and just my old case was different than the average ? The glass on the old case seems just a little bit dark, but this could be only an impression and for sure it has no particular color tint.

  • Xperia Z3 display yellow tint at bottom

Hallo to Z3 community! I noticed a yellow tint at the bottom of my screen (little difficult to notice, but it exists). The problem appears when you put the brightness at full with white background (into the display test at service menu). Is it common issue? Do you have it? Although it' s hard to notice it, i don' t want this problem and i must send it for service if i 'm the only one "lucky" with this issue and it is not normal for this screen.. Thank you in advance and sorry for the bad english!

    Hello,
I too have the same problem with my Xperia Z3, yellow glow under the soft keys (home / back / task), the halo is very noticeable with white image full screen, when the soft key disappears. with the video we see very little, with black soft key not known anything. I have lollipop 5.0.2. what do you recommend?

  • Xperia Z1 display

    Hi all,
I've recently had a line of dead/stuck pixels (I realise they're two different issues, but I cannot decipher for sure which one my Z1 is suffering from).
The line of pixels runs down the very middle of the display and is most visible against a grey screen in the Service Menu.
Naturally, I've looked to get it exchanged at the retailer, but they were most unhelplful - so I do hope Sony will be more proactive in resolving the issue with my Z1.
Anyone else had any Z1 display issues?
    Thanks for reading xD

  • Prints don't match display - photosmart b8550 - skin tones have reddish tin

when printing to photosmart b8550, the prints don't "color match" the display.
skin tones especially have reddish tint. should the printer or iphoto control
    the colors?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. First I have to ask the obvious question: have you checked the levels in the various ink cartridges?
Color control is very difficult. Unless you print from an application like Photoshop or Photoshop Elements where you can set the preferences to have the application control color the printer will usually have the control.
What I would do is find a color image like this color image or this one and use it to run tests on regular paper, changing the various settings in the Print window till you get what you like. Then save those settings as a new preset.
Do not use a color image file that has the Adobe RGB color profile. You want one with the standard sRGB or sRGB IEC1966-2.1.
Also calibrate your monitor via the System/Displays preference pane. In the Print window menus there are a couple of panes for color management. Take a look at both, and others, to fine tune your setup.

  • Display has a yellow hue/tint...

My display has a yellow hue/tint and it is not being caused by a screen protector (which is clear). Also did a factory reset (didn't expect it to work) and it didn't help. I'm comparing the display to a at&t iphone 4 display. The hue/tint is consistent throughout display, no lines nor spotting, nor has the phone been in the heat.

Verizon's iphone has a Yellow hue. And I dont believe its going to "cure" or go away ...
PS: For those of you like "Thomas" who say its "Just fine". Please hold your AT&T iphone up next to your Verizon iPhone. You'll see its not "just fine". Love when people just rattle off comments like this with zero research...
Since I don't happen to have both an AT&T iPhone and a Verizon iPhone, I did a different test. I viewed a photo on my Verizon iPhone and held it up next to the identical photo on the screen of my MacBook Pro. The iPhone photo was very slightly darker, but there was absolutely no color cast. I repeated this for a number of different images with different palettes, and none showed the slightest yellow color cast.
Note that one should not confuse reading posts online from people with zero technical knowledge talking about a "problem" with actual research.

  • Display quality in Xperia z1. triluminus and x realty

at the moment when I bought this, I was excited about sony's triluminus display technology, but now I'm dossapointed there is no difference between z1 display and xperia c display.
firstly I don't know, whether this is a z1 series problem or only mine.
x reality is always on in my z1,,, but I didn't see any difference in video/photos, if I turn off x reality. what is the solution for this.

  • Blotch on display

In the lower left hand side of my display there is a redish (when on a white background) blotch, that is see through, but reveals an uneven color quality on my screen, how can I fix this, or should I return my whole laptop?

I have a similar issue. On the menubar at the top of my 13" Macbook Pro, there's a reddish tint towards the right of the screen and a few pixels that appear slightly "blocky". The tint makes the color of the menu bar inconsistent from left to right.
I got mine right around Thanksgiving, but it looks like I'll be needing to take a trip to the Apple store...
What ended up happening with yours?

  • Events in iPhoto show a purple tint for half a second when scrolling

After installing Mountain Lion my 27" iMac (May 2011) started showing events in iPhoto wahsed in a purple or reddish tint for less than half a second, when I scroll down or up quickly. Then they turn to their normal colors. Every time I scroll up or down rapidly, all new events appearing onscreen are tinted in purple, then become normal. The same happens with iTunes covers or when in Safari I zoom in by double tapping my Magic mouse. Seems to be connected with JPEG files being displayed abnormallyt for some reason.
I know this is not a major issue but it is bothersome and actually it should not happen.
    Can anyone help?
My iPhoto library contains 46.000 photos in 950 events.

When the event is clicked, it opens with the photos that I chose for the event.
So when you enter the event you can see the photos, right? Are you able to view the photos in the Photo mode?
Make a temporary, backup copy of your library if you don't already have one (Control-click on the library and select Duplicate from the contextual menu) and  apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #1, followed by #3 and then #4 as needed.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Thinkpad W530 display hurts my eyes

    Hi,
The FHD screen on my W530 hurts me eyes because it has a reddish tint.
I've sent the laptop back to Lenovo twice already, no luck at all. They claimed that they could not find the problem, and ended up replacing the LCD each time.
I've tried all the methods listed here:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/lenovo/695861-t-w530-fhd-color-profile.html
    http://njekin.blogspot.com/2013/11/calibrating-fhd-wide-gamut-lcd-of.html
and followed the precise instructions to load each color profile, but nothing has changed. I have no idea what to do right now, except send the laptop back for the third time.
Unfortunately, it's been more than 21 days since I bought the laptop, so I can't get a refund. This has pretty much forced me to use my W530 exclusively with a monitor.
I took screenshots so you can see the difference between my w530 screen (bad) and my x120 screen (normal).

    Thinkpad W530 w/ Core i7 3740QM, Quadro K1000m, 16GB RAM, 1TB HDD, 1080p FHD Display

The PWM frequency of the W530's display may not be as high as that of your external monitor. AFAIK, the default frequency is around 220 Hz. I find that to be grossly lacking, so I cranked mine up to 1000 Hz.
The exe takes a commandline argument in Hz from 50 to 1050. So you'd have to execute it from commandline. I have a batchfile set up as follows to make life easier, and have it set up as a startup command.
    @echo off
    if "%PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE%"=="AMD64" goto 64BIT
    start IntelPWMControl_x86.exe 1050
    goto END
    :64BIT
    start IntelPWMControl_x64.exe 1050
    :END
    timeout /t 2 /nobreak > NUL
    taskkill /f /im IntelPWMControl_x86.exe
    taskkill /f /im IntelPWMControl_x64.exe
    exit
Interestingly, your picture shows signs of PWM even at max brightness (on the W520). The X120e may or may not be showing PWM at all; I can't tell if those are really wide bars or just a reflection. The width of the bars indicates frequency; really wide bars means low frequency, really narrow bars means high frequency.
Out of curiosity, do you get the same eyestrain with older CRT monitors?

  • Xperia z2 design

Hi.in most of xperia z2 display panel and body of the phone have small distance.i want to khnow will it effect on it's water proof Feature?(one time i put it in noraml water)

I can't see the pictures until they are approved by a moderator, if you are referring about the gap in between the lcd and the housing, then that's normal. My understanding on this is that such gap helps prevent breaking the screen, with that said, the screen will crack if you drop it.

  • Display blank

Recently my Mac Air screen has gone blank.  I have rebooted my machine and ensured it is fully charged.

reddish tint means your CCFL in the LCD has failed, the CCFL is hard to replace, it is probably easier to replace the LCD.
This is the hardware manual that shows you how to replace the LCD.

  • My Second Display connected on VGA is "blue-ish"

When I try to hook up a second VGA TFT-display using DVI-VGA adapter on the GT 120 the second screen has a blue-ish look. I can see the background picture, I can change the resolution settings but I can't get rid od the blueish tone.
On the mini-displayport I have the Apple Cinema 24"
Does anybodu know what can be the problem?

Depending on the degree of the bluish tint it could be a bad cable (strong tint) or it may mean the displays need to be calibrated (slight tint). If it is a slight tint try calibrating the displays, System Preferences -> Displays -> Color -> Calibrate...
Note: it's pretty much impossible to get two different display models to match. I've got two Apple displays and even with a Colorvision display calibrater one display is slightly warmer than the other.
