Reddish tint on front camera glass on Nokia 808 Pu...

Some time ago I replaced the somewhat broken case of my Nokia 808 Pureview with other one, used, but in good physical condition. Everything went ok, no problem here.
There is a strange thing however: the front camera glass of the "new" case has a slightly reddish tint, whose color resembles a skylight photo filter. It can be observed quite well in the attached images (in the one with both, the "new" case is on the left).
I am unable to spot a difference in colors of the photos taken before and after case change, but that doesn't mean much. The colors of the 808 were never on my favorite side (I always prefer the N8 colors, but this is also a matter of taste) and those taken with the xenon flash have a pink white tendency almost all the time (especially on subjects having lot of white) – but that was the same with the "old" case also.
My question is – was this physical optical adjustment intentionally made by Nokia at some point ? Or this is something common and just my old case was different than the average ? The glass on the old case seems just a little bit dark, but this could be only an impression and for sure it has no particular color tint.

Hello, secarica. Thanks for sharing this with us. We'd like to clarify some details for us to better address your concern. Where did you purchase the case? Where are you located and have you taken the phone to a Care Point for an evaluation?
BTW, we do not recommend unauthorized disassembling of parts as it may cause further harm to the phone & will void your phone's warranty. For any repair concerns, we suggest taking the phone to an authorized repair facility: http://www.microsoft.com/en/mobile/support/locations/. Backup file is a must to avoid any data loss. One of the major issues I have with my Nokia 808 is the lack of compatibility of some basic apps like Skype. Some of us need them for business as well as personal needs. Request you to look into rectifying this.
The other major issue in a phone whose USP is its fantastic camera - is the lack of functions to control the aperture or shutter speed in manual mode - c1/c2/c3.
If these are addressed - this is the best camera phone - FULL STOP.

Some affordable lumia updates for nokia 808 ?

I am thinking of buying nokia 808 coz it has 41mp camera.
but am wondering if nokia will provide some upcoming new lumia camera features to nokia 808 like Action shot, removing moving object, The smart camera app and Motion focus ??
See, nokia 808 can handle all these features very well coz it has best camera, If nokia dont provide these features to nokia 808, I request nokia to make all these features(wp8 amber) available to nokia 808, Its the last symbian phone and it deserves it. what you think nokia 808 owners ?

It's unlikely that the 808 will see any of those features added to it by Nokia as it's different teams working on it now. Also with symbian in the process of being discontinued and the 808 slowly disappearing from sale it's unlikely that the time, effort or expense will be put into it.
Unless you are buying it purely for the camera as it is now I would avoid the 808.
Obviously this is just speculation, all you can really do is wait and see what happens as Nokia won't comment on it here.

Camera update for the 808

What are the chances of Nokia issuing a firmware update to improve the camera on the 808??
The S4 is getting very good reviews on its camera and almost beating the 808 in some tests, even thought its only got a tiny 13mp sensor, it appears the software is so good it makes up for the small sensor.
Come on Nokia, release a new update, and maybe some cool apps so we can make the most of the great camera the 808 has, you do it for windowz but not for symbian, even though 808 camera is better!

Nokia Lumia 900 Front camera issues

Hi Moderator,
I bought the new Nokia Lumia 900 few days back and today for the first time when I tried using the front camera on one of my video calls it just froze. Thinking that it is software(skype, tango) problem I tried to open regular camera but the front camera wouldnt come up. I called At&t technical support he advised me to switch off the phone, remove sim, re-insert the sim and turn it on. It worked(thought I still dont understand the realtion between sim and camera). But after some time the camera again hung up on me. This time I switched my phone off for 5 minutes and then turned it on it worked. And I cannot do the whole process again and again all day. Is that a known issue or defect in my phone.

I also have a new Lumia 900 with skype installed. I am finding that the experience on wifi is still not as smooth as Facetime on an iPhone. I am also finding that after I use it a second time (my call hung up in the middle), suddenly my front camera will not work correctly anymore. It is showing the image as though it has some kind of a filter applied and there does not appear to be a way to turn or reset this filter. Switching to the front view worked fine. Audio continued to work fine and my phone did not lock up, other then possibly internet delays. I got the front camera to work again by powering down. I think there might still be software issues.

Urgent help nokia c7 front camera error belle

i have upgrade to belle then i show that my front camera is not working.
it is showing "unexpected error occurred, please restart the camera. if this doesnot help please restart your phone"
i restarted the phone then also not worked.
i tried soft reset then also not worked .
i tried 3 finger format (volume key,menu key and camera key)

I use the front camera on Nokia 701 for video calling, works alright.
That is the main thing I think, cant see any other use of it cause of the much better back camera when taking photos or video recording...Am I missing something important?

Nokia c7 front camera error

Since you have mentioned that you encountered the issue after updating the software to Symbian Belle, if you have not tried doing a soft reset on your phone, you may just dial *#7780# and enter the default security code 12345 if not changed. It will restore the settings back to default or manufacturer's settings, no data will be deleted. It fixes some issues on the device. If issues persists, you may try to reinstall the software to fix some application issues on your phone.
Just follow the steps below:
Connect your phone to PC using USB cable and launch Nokia Suite.
Once your device is recognised, click on Tools and select Software Update.
Click on the "reinstall" button.

6288 is a dual camera with 2 MP at the back, the second camera at the front which is used for video calling, sadly u cannot take pitures out of it.To set up video calling u must contact your service provider.

Yes it does have one.
It is for use in video calls as the quality of it is too poor to be used for photos.
On some models the front camera can be used by going to camera > options > use secondary camera but not all models support that feature.

Lumia 928 Front-Cam Pictures are Yellow

Hello,
After the recent Amber update, the phones takes HORRIBLE front-camera photos. The white balance settings don't help at all and everything is given a yellow tint - people look like a cartoon from the Simpsons. Please tell me this is being addressed in an update that won't make me wait until GDR3... I'm going back to school soon and I'd really like to show off the camera quality especially since it is such a beautiful phone. Please fix this, I miss taking photos on my phone.
In addition, the pro-cam gives a yellow tint and softens images in the hi-res review. I thought it would give the full HD review?

Replaced front screen why is my front camera now orange?

I replaced the front glass of my phone because it was cracked and the back camera wasn't working at all. Now after being replaced the back camera works fine and the front camera has an orange blotchy tint. What can I do to fix this problem without dropping another $50?

Since you apparently replaced it yourself you either installed an inferior product or you damaged the front camera CCD. You also voided any warranty the phone may have had and eliminated any chance for Apple to repair the phone in the future, as Apple will not touch any phone that has been repaired by a user or a 3rd party. Apple would have charged you $109 to replace the front glass. You can try dropping another $50, but that may not be the problem.

I can not switch to the front camera on my iTouch 4g.

I have owned two 4th Generation Ipod Touches. After having both for over half a year, their front cameras will not work. I do not usually use the front camera. When I attempt to switch to the front camera from the Camera App (or from the Lock Screen) the Camera/Video button begins to flicker and the screen will either show the shutter or blackness. When attempting to switch the camera on Instagram, it notifies me that there was an error launching the camera. on my oldest device I was able to restart the Ipod and the front camera would work for a while before I would be required to restart it again. My newest device used to be the same way, but now it will not be fixed by restarting/shutting down/reebooting the device.
Other Details:
1st Ipod: Dropped- Front camera shattered and top left corner of Ipod cracked; Screen turned completely white when device was cold; Glass replaced once
2nd Ipod: Dropped- Bottom left corner dented and one thin line arching from corner to right side through the screen; Slow in taking pictures (back camera)
If this is a software problem, I would like to know if it can be fixed with at-home fixes.
If this is a hardware problem, must the entire devie be replaced or just the glass?

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem then it is a hardware problem.
I suspect that replacing the screen will not fix the camera problem unless the problem is due to a loose connection since replacing the screen could restore that connection.

C7 issue with front camera

Lumia 1520 reboots when front camera is used

Hi all, I picked up an international version of the Lumia 1520 a couple of weeks back in India and I just realized that the phone reboots when ever I try to use the front camera. This is happening with all apps. The apps that i have tried till now are as follows
OneShot, Nokia Camera, Default camera app and Camera360.
The reboot happens with all the apps only when I try to use the front camera. I have tried hard resetting the phone but that too has not solved the problem. I have seen a couple of discusstions on this topic over here but none of them contained any helpful replies.
The handset is running the Lumia Black update. I'm wondering if this is a hardware issue or software issue. If it is a software issue I dont mind waiting for a patch, but if it is a hardware issue then I have no option but to reutrn to it. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I purchased a Nokia Lumia 1520 from Snapdeal. 2 days after using the phone, I inserted an SD card for data transfer and it didn't work with the phone. I tried to format the SD card as per Nokia forums and also tried to reset the phone but to no help. I took the handset to Nokia Care (Net Dot Solutions, Tilak Nagar, Delhi) and they tried to do a software upgrade but to no help.
I submitted the brand new working phone and the Nokia care kept it for 15 days. The only reply I ever got from them was that the set is in the factory with no status update at all. After 15 days I got response from Nokia care that the Phone is warranty devoid and not covered under warranty any more. There was no specific reason given for the warranty being devoid.
When I went to collect the set, it had minor scratches on the screen, which were not there when the set was submitted. The support personnel said that these are very minor and expected to be there. Very Strange! Also upon using the phone after I got it back from Nokia Care, I found that the front Camera is not working and the phone crashes each time the Camera is opened. Also the Auto-Brightness control (probably due to its sensor) is also not working.
Nokia care has damaged my phone in the 15 days they had it. Who is to be held responsible. And now they say my phone is warranty devoid and I need to pay for any repairs.
