Redeeming a voucher in a different country.

I am British but have lived in Korea for the past eight years. I have an iphone 3gs so i installed iTunes on my wondows PC in Korea and listed my country as 'USA' to make sur eitunes displayed in English.
Now I am back in England and I installed itunes on a vista laptop that i am using here. Two days ago I bought an ipad 2 wifi 32 gig here in London and registered it on itunes that i installed on the laptop here in theuk; although i sued my itunes ID wich i had beenusing when living in Korea which is registered as 'USA' for the nation.
yesteday I bought a £25 itunes voucher here in England so i could by some apps from itunes. When i tried to log on to my itunes account to redeem it i was blocked because itunes said that my itunes voucher is a uk voucher and myh itunes account is a usa account.
I tried to change my nation to 'UK' in the options initunes bu this doesn't work. I also tried to uninstall and re install itunes and make a new account but it just auto reverted to my 'usa' registered account.
How can i redeem this voucher or get a refund. I sent this off to itunes support but wanted to ask here if you have any sollution.

To redeem the voucher, you would have to have a credit card with a valid UK billing address and you would have to be physically inside the borders of the U.K.
You can only use the itunes store from the country of your residence ( as proven by valid credit card billing address) and only while inside the borders of that country.
Gift cards/vouchers are country specific.  Only gift cards from the country of your residence ( as proven by billing address of your credit card) can be redeemed.

He'd tried by changing the iTune store to Ireland and attempted to redeem in his iTune acconut and it is not sucessful>
What shoud he do use this gift?
Should his Aunt in Ireland need to contact the Apple?
Would anybody help to understand what next my son could do?
[My son is 13 yrs old and do not have credit card]
Thank you for your time in answering my question.

    You cannot use it.
    Gifts are country specific.
They cannot be used outside of the country of origin and without a valid account in that country.

  • HT201209 How to redeem iTunes gift card in different country?

I'm from Malaysia. But my iTune gift card is from U.S. . When I tried to redeem it, it told me to redeem at U.S. storefront. Can anyone help me?

You can't redeem it outside of the USA. You also can't change the iTunes Store country while any of its balance remains.

how can i send an itunes gift voucher to someone in a different country? I live in the UK and want to send a voucher to someone in the US

No, they are only valid in your own country - so you can only send gift certificates (or gift actual content) to people whose account is based in the same country as your own.

  • How do I get a refund for an Itunes gift that I bought for someone that cannot redeem it as they are in a different country?

How do I get a refund for an Itunes gift that I bought for someone that cannot redeem it as they are in a different country?
It was not imediately clear that purchases coudl only be redeemed within the country of purchase.

You can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • REDEEM GIFT CARD IN DIFFERENT COUNTRY

How come I can't use a gift card given to me by somebody in a different country?

Yes. They are registered to the country associated with the Apple ID that purchased it. That's why you cannot redeem it. The person who gave you the gift wasted their money because only someone in that person's country can redeem the gift card.

  • Using Different Country's iTunes Store

I keep getting this error message:
"An e-mail you’ve specified to receive a gift is set up for an account in a different country’s iTunes store. Gift recipients may only redeem their gift in this iTunes Store."
What must I do to be able to send the gift?

Sorry, but you can only gift within the US. There's no way to give an iTunes Store gift to someone in another country.

  • How can I gift an App to someone in a different country? How can I recall the gift I alreadt sent?

I gifted an App from the App store to my cousin. He is India and I am in Kuwait. He now got a message saying that the app can only be used in Kuwait. How can I gift an App to someone in a different country? How can I recall the gift I alreadt sent?
    Cheers,

Are you asking about iOS apps? This is the Mac App Store forum, about issues with apps for Macs, not iOS devices. Mac apps cannot be gifted at this moment. I am asking the Hosts to move your question to the iTunes area.

  • How to Purchase iTunes Music in a Different Country

    Hi there,
I'm reading that you have to be in a country and you can only download music on that "home" country's site. My problem is that there is music available on iTunes in a different country that I would love to purchase but cannot because I'm not resident there. So... is there a solution to this? Problem is that what I'm looking for is extremely hard to find where I currently live, in fact it's impossible. Is the purchase dependent upon your credit card billing address? Just wondering if there's any kind of solution to the dilemma or whether this is all legal stuff causing the issue. I mean, I can go on-line and purchase an item in, say, Europe, charge it to my North American credit card with the appropriate currency conversion applied. So, why can this not be done in iTunes?
If there's a solution please let me know. Thanks!
    L.

Sorry, but at this time there is no solution. It's due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies and other rights holders.
Is the purchase dependent upon your credit card billing address?
The billing address is primarily to verify your residence in your country.
? Just wondering if there's any kind of solution to the dilemma or whether this is all legal stuff causing the issue.
It is indeed "legal stuff" and there is, I'm sorry to say, no solution. From This Business of Music (10th Edition) (by M. William Krasilovsky and Sydney Shemel) (and thanks to the Mimico Kid for the reference) :
The difficulty of establishing workable business models for digital files (...) extends to where they are sold and where they are played. This is the issue of territoriality, and it is an illustration of how the Internet makes it necessary to reexamine basic assumptions that have been taken for granted (...).
(....) In the music business the primary problem is that copyrights are national and therefore specific rights are tied to national laws and the interpretations of national courts.
(.... T)hough we can one day hope to see the development of common standards with respect to copyright, the fact that the music business is building upon a history of nation-specific contractual relationships means that the goal of universal international standards is not, for the forseeable future, a practical one.
(...) Adding to the difficulty (...) the copyrights themselves may have been assigned to different companies in different territories. The best hope for a cleaner start and a simpler future is worldwide recognition that digital uses are in fact - and should be in law - totally new.
The content owners don't like cross-border sales of CDs either, but there's nothing they can do to stop such sales. They can, though, and do stop cross-border download sales, since if the download stores refuse, the rights holders won't license the tracks to that store.
So unless and until the record companies, et. al, all get together and agree to allow download stores to sell cross-border, there's absolutely nothing Apple or any other download store can do. They have to license for each country individually, and the holders of the rights for a given country may not with to grant such a license, and in some cases there is no one who holds the distribution rights for a given item in your country.

  • Is there a way to download music I purchased in a different country?

I was recently living in the United States, I purchases most of my music while I was there. I have now moved to a different country and bought a new Mac and iPhone, I thought I would be able to download all of my music again with no problem but it's not showing up in my purchased history. Is there a way to re-download it?

As well as being tied to the account, all content is also tied to the country that it was downloaded in.
You have to be in a country to use its store - unless you move back to the US and have a US billing address on your account then you won't be able to potentially redownload them.
Have you not been keeping and maintaining a backup a copy of all your downloads/library ? Even if you hadn't moved countries you are not guaranteed to be able to redownload any item (you are only guaranteed one download of each item), any item could be removed from the store by the rights-holders at any time.

  • HT1807 I travelled to a different country & using a new sim; with the change in sim, I have been unable to use iMessage & FaceTime. Cant replace replace the earlier no with the current one and it reads error. how to correct this?

I traveled to a different country and using a new sim/new carrier. With the change in the sim, I have been unable to use the iMessage--outside of WiFi coverage area, and FaceTime at all time. I believe it is due to the phone number registered as an address in the phone, which has not changed with the change of sim; so it countinues to showing as an error while varifying the data.
Wonder if any of you are in a position to advise as to how to address the following.
    1. I need to input correct phone no, meaning the number I am using in the correct location.
    2. I need to activate FaceTime and be able to use it.
    3. I need to be able to use iMessage and/or ordinary sms while outside of WiFi coverage area.
It may be mentioned in my current location I don't have GPRS on the cell phone which is the case in my regular station.
    Thanks for your help.

I have multiple Apple IDs. Is there a way for me to merge them into a single Apple ID?
Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

  • Apple says my iPhone 5 is locked but I'm currently using it in a different country. How is that possible??

HOw insist that I can use it in a different country when Apple says it's locked?!

You need to ask the carrier the iPhone is locked to, to officially unlock, nothing Apple can do.

  • A/P F110 Payment via company code in a different country

The client is a service organization where the Vendor data is managed in the US company code (US01) and the Customer data in managed in a Swiss company code (CH02). Many of the customers could also provide services and the invoices are posted to vendor accounts in the US01 company code.
In the case where the vendor amount exceeds the customer amount, the customer/vendor has agreed that the client will pay the net amount and clear the net to the customer account.
Clearing between the customer and vendor in company codes in the same country and with the bank account managed in the same country works as expected.
The CH02 company code does not have a bank account of its own and therefore cannot make its own payments.
    The problem that we encounter is that I cannot define (for F110 configuration) sending and paying company codes where the country assigned are different, e.g.;
       - Sending company code: CH02
       - Paying Company code:  US01
When this is entered into the IMG configuration for "Automatic payments > Set Up All Company Codes for Payment Transactions" the error "Company code US90 is not permitted as the paying company code" (error code F3063) is issued. The detailed error description is:
"The paying company code and the company code on whose behalf the payment is being made must be in the same country, have the same local currency, and display the same currencies managed in parallel. The setting regarding extended withholding tax functions (active or not active) must also be identical for both company codes."
The initial design was to have the A/P and A/R in the CH02 company code but the payment via the US01 company code would not work. Having the vendor only in the US01 company code is a solution to this using an inter-company invoice posting. Using a work-around to clear the customer balance to the vendor account is not acceptable to the client.
The easy way out of this is to assign the CH02 company code to country code 'US', but this is not correct.
Is there a solution to making payments from company code US01 (as the paying company code) but including the customer items from a foreign company in the payment?

    Hi Martin,
    Welcome SDN!!!
The standard SAP doesnot provide payment via company code in a  different country. If you still feel that it is fit case, please contact SAP.SAP may consider this a special requirement and may cover your case under SAP Note 357732.(pls have a look once).
    Thanks
