if you have a PKGBUILD, you can build and install the pkg very fast and easily
makepkg
and then
pacman -U mynewpkg-32.23-1.pkg.tar.gz

  • What is the scope of Live Customer Support in the Software and IT Industry?

The Software and IT Industry is growing at a pace of 9.0% per year, with employment at Software consultancy and service firms projected to grow making it the second best industry to start and grow a business. With this pace of growth in the ruthless world of online business, only companies which succeed in creating their own niche will survive and make it big.
Surviving this kind of competition demands a change in business strategy to create a loyal customer base, i.e. a solid investment in repeat visitors. One tool that can bring about this change in business strategy is the use of Live Chat.
A Live Chat Operator’s role is a Software and IT Company website can be from navigation help and customer service to expert consultancy and making direct sales. Behind all of these roles though, is the constant element of the human touch on a website. Chat with a Live Operator can create an experience for web visitors which will make them come back. This creation of repeat web visitors will create a loyal customer base. This industry particularly relies on customer loyalty, since in the computers and electronics category repeat visitors are nearly 16 times more likely to make a purchase than new visitors with conversion rates of 23.12 percent and 1.49 percent respectively.
Apart from creating repeat visitors on Software Company’s website, Live Chat Operators can do the following:
    1.     Win loyalty by providing top level service on your online store
    2.     Provide real-time answers about models, year and price of the electronics or computers that visitors are looking for.
    3.     Show items; push pages and take visitors directly to the model/price range they are looking into.
    4.     Use three dimensional images to show products.
    5.     Generate leads.
    6.     Provide consultancy on items keeping in view customer needs and price range
    7.     Update visitors on Promotional Offers,
    8.     8. Improve Multitasking in Customer Service and Sales Staff.
Live Chat is a medium which takes online customer service to an unparalleled level; the days of static web information and the email black hole are long gone.

    Hi Dkdinesh,
    Excelent links provide by M.R.AshwinPrabhu!
In 2014, Microsoft will release BizTalk Server 2013 R2 (release date will be soon) and also will keep investing and improving Microsoft Azure BizTalk Services-
Microsoft goal in terms of Release Cadence of BizTalk Server is to have one major release every alternate year (the last one was BizTalk Server 2013, so you may expect a new major release in 2015) and one minor release every alternate year (that will be
designated R2, so the next on is BizTalk Server 2013 R2). The major release will have new features and themes and minor releases will have bug fixes, platform alignment and customer asks.

  • Good add-ons for retail, point of sale, wholesale and distrbution industry

    Hi,
Which are the good add-ons available in India for retail, point of sale billing, wholesale and distribution industry?
    Typical requirements are:
    1. Point of sale billing
    2. Barcoding - if same item is scanned twice, the qty of the item should increase, rather than creating a new item row.
    3. Combo Offers - Buy 1 Get 1 Free, etc.
    4. Repacking of items - buy in bulk and sell in loose
    5. Support for multiple MRP for same item, example an item with old MRP is in stock, and the same item with new MRP is also in stock
    6. Loyalty Point, Membership schemes
    7. Multiple Payment Modes in same Invoice: Coupons, Card, Cash, etc.
The add-on should work on B1 Starter Pack licenses.
The customer operates small sized departmental stores from 3 locations, with 1 or 2 billing counters in each location, and has limited budget due to which we are suggesting B1 starter pack to him.
    Thanks.

  • Need Role Design for Oil and Gas industry

    Hi All,
i have a requirement of designing roles for Oil and Gas industry. Could any one share some material/link or overview on the same.
if not all, Role Design on UOM is also fine
    regards
    Plaban

    Hi Mythily,
If you already know something about explortion of oil, then you will find PRA (production and revenue acconting) interesting. This module deals with exploration of oil and gas and then distributing the revenue to owners.
You can find detailed information in help.sap.com. Follow the link given below for PRA help:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_oil46csp2/helpdata/en/ec/9d2c3adcc8431be10000000a114084/frameset.htm
Reading some of the material will give you more clarity whether you like it or not.
And it is perfectly fine to have ABAP knowledge, that will help in going deep into Oil and gas.
    Rgds,
    Abhishek

  • Security in Defence and Aerospace industry

    Hi
Can any body tell me what are the special requirements in SAP security in a defence and aerospace industry.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Vitthal,
I hope this response isn't too late to be of some use.
The requirements to meet Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) compliance are pretty stringent and the security solutions from SAP were fairly incomplete when I last worked with IS-A&D .
The answer is going to depend on what you are using A&D for. If it's for aircraft maintenance (MRO) then the main requirements from a CAA perspective are around servicability of components and declaration of components as servicable for aircraft etc... The SAP standard solutions need to be enhanced to include encryption to allow digital signing of these servicability delclarations. There are quite a few gaps.
Happy to discuss further if you want to get in touch.

  • Packaging and Printing Industry

    Hi,
I want to know under which industry category is "Packaging and Printing Industry" is it consumer product or what.
    Regards,
    Ahmed Rouby

    Hello Ahmet,
if you focus on the packaging part, this would be part of mill products. There we cover all sorts of packaging, paper or foil-based (flexible) packaging, corrugated packaging and also glass, cans and others.
The printing is, as Kurt mentioned, Media-
Luckily there are good SAP partners that cover both packaging & printing - independent of SAP's internal industry assignment.
Let me know if you need a contact.

  • NFS problem between RedHat Client and Solaris Server

Hi all, we are experiencing a problem between a RedHat client and a Solaris 10 server. For the purposes of this post, I'll call the Redhat client server A and the Solaris 10 server B.
Server B is exporting a filesystem that server A is trying to mount. Server A can successfully mount the exported file system, however, strange things are happening. If I change to the exported mount point on server A and create a file, the file is owned by nobody:nobody, not the user that created the file.
A look at the file on server B shows the file has the correct UID and GID (ie the UID & GID of server A).
The fstab file on server A looks like this:
    serverB:/data /data nfs4 rsize=32768,wsize=32768,hard,nointr,rw,bg,actimeo=0,timeo=300,suid 0 0
Does anyone have a explanation for this?
NB: There is a firewall between server A and server B. A firewall rule is in place to allow traffic between the two servers on port 2049
    Stewart

    Hi
If I change to the exported mount point on server A and create a file, the file is owned by nobody:nobody, not the user that created the file.On a NFS share, for security reasons, you normally dont have root provileges.
A file createt as root user will be mapped to nobody:nobody.
The behaviour you see is correct.
If you want the file to be createt as root, you have to export the filesystem with -o ro,anon=0
NFSv3 will be blocked by your firewall.

  • Xilinx wins Light Reading's Leading Lights Award for Outstanding Components Vendor to the Network and Comms industry

Light Reading, a leading online publication for the network and communications industry, has just presented Xilinx with a 2015 Leading Lights award for Outstanding Components Vendor at an awards dinner held in Chicago on June 8 in conjunction with this week’s Big Telecom Event.
There’s a very big reason that explains why Xilinx won this award.
Equipped with the right IP and software, Xilinx All Programmable FPGAs and SoCs can implement single-chip systems, replacing ASSPs and ASICs entirely. This capability is critical in leading-edge applications where shipping volumes have not yet become—and may never become—sufficiently large to attract the ASSP vendors or to justify the NRE associated with cutting-edge, nanometer ASIC development.
This is precisely the current situation for networking products that implement 100G and 400G Ethernet and other equally high-speed networking protocols including OTN.
Quite simply, there is no better way to implement these products—especially with the introduction of the latest Xilinx 20nm UltraScale and 16nm UltraScale+ devices.
The impact of the Xilinx All Programmable device portfolio on the development of Smarter Networks based on next-generation networking and communications systems is most visible in emerging applications including SDN and NFV, data-center compute acceleration, storage, and high-speed wired communications including Nx100G Ethernet and >400G OTN, 4G and pre-5G wireless radios, and wireless backhaul. Xilinx’s innovation in this space is apparent: Xilinx is the only company delivering a single-chip solution for 500G OTN transponders and 2x100G OTN switching applications with fully validated reference designs.
Further, Xilinx, Huawei, and Spirent have demonstrated a prototype 400G Ethernet core router, based on Xilinx's high-end FPGAs. (See “Huawei and Xilinx unveil prototype 400GE Core Router at OFC 2104. FPGAs do the heavy lifting.”) This is the first prototype system to validate 400G Ethernet technology, which is still in its pre-standards phase. When standards are in flux, as they are here, Xilinx All Programmable devices are especially useful in getting early products to market. In addition, JDSU and IXIA have announced 400G Ethernet test systems based on Xilinx technology. (See “JDSU 400G Ethernet test platform at OFC 2015 based on Xilinx 20nm UltraScale devices”, “Single-chip 100G and 400G demos at next week’s OFC 2015 highlight UltraScale FPGA and Xilinx IP networking capabilities”, and “Xilinx and Ixia present 400GE and 25GE testing solutions at OFC 2015” for more information.)
Xilinx owns 100% of the 400G Ethernet platforms announced to date.
The Leading Lights awards are the telecom industry's most prestigious awards program and focus on next-generation communications technologies, applications, services, and strategies. Xilinx won the 2015 Leading Lights award for Outstanding Components Vendor out of a field of seven finalists in the category.
For more detailed information on Xilinx and Smarter Networks, see “A Generation Ahead: SMARTER NETWORKS.”

  • RedHat 9 and Neo2

Has anyone installed Redhat 9 with this motherboard(Neo2 LS 865PE)?
I have tried to install but installation gets stuck at hardware checking.
My harddrive, graphics card are compatible. Checked on redhat website. I cannot find any info on motherboard.
So, if anyone knows, pls reply.
    Thnk you.

I'm using Debian (woody) as well and it all works fine. Just had to get to somewhere above 2.4.18 kernel to enable speedy USB2.0 access (480mbits/s vs 12mbits/s). I've opted for the 2.4.24 backported kernel (http://www.backports.org) to get past the recent exploit and get the latest drivers in. You also have to use a kernel > 2.4.18 to enable SMP, since it seems 2.4.18 doesn't recognise the chipset or something. 2.4.24 shows all the details (and names) of the various chips and bridges on the motherboard. Good luck.
Have the same non-powering down problem, which is caused by APM not being SMP safe or something, but according to some articles I've read just now, you can either add to lilo.conf:
      append="apm=power-off"
    or
      insmod apm power_off=1
on a running system. Haven't tried it at yet, but I have faith in the linux community.

  • RedHat AS4 and Oracle 10R2 upgrade - performance issue

    Hi all,
As part of our database upgrade project (from Oracle 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.3), we decided to upgrade our OS as well (RedHat AS4 from Update 2 to Update 4, 64-bit). We are in testing phase now and having some serious performance issues.
These below are steps that we have performed:
    1. Ran db load testing plus Application Regression testing in order to get a baseline
    2. Upgraded RH AS4 from Update 2 to Update 4
    3. Ran db load testing plus Application Regression testing
    4. Database load testing (including massive parallel processes, like 'insert into ...', 'create indexes ...parallel',etc ...) showed significant slowdown compared to our 'baseline' test (Update 2): 70-80%. The database is still Oracle 10.2.0.1, only RH was updated at this point
    5. We upgraded Oracle 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.3, latest CPU , etc ...(Update 4 on OS side) still same slowdown in performances ...
    6. Our Application Regression Testing has showed performance degradation also but not in same extent as db load test (10-20 % on different application modules)
    7. We also did one more thing : went back and upgraded Oracle with Update 2 (some 'workarounds' were required but that's another story). Performances were OK. So it seems our problem is not (directly) related to Oracle version.
Now we are going to install Update 6 (the latest update for AS4) and see how it goes.
If anybody have any experience or idea about this case and want to share it with us, it would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Milan N.

Just a quick update for those who follow this thread ...
Everything worked fine with 'Update 6' kernel (both Oracle 10.2.0.1 and 10.2.0.3). We have also applied all available security packages.

Hi, i think if you will use a linux distribution.. as a workstation , not as a server... thats a bit overdose for atom based book...
and RH Server vs.4.0 is outdated....
I prefer the smaller and out of the box running well ubuntu 9.04
    http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download
(note the NBR Netbookremix! or standard)....
     linux mint...

  • RedHat PAK and license for UCS C220M3

    Dear Support Commmunity,
I just got this new Cisco UCS C220-M3S where I should install a Cisco MATE and it requieres Redhat Enterprise Server 6.5. I also got the Cisco PAK for RedHat. I registered in the RedHat customer Portal, but I have not option to download the OS software because I need to activate it before download. The PAK is useless for activating the RedHat suscription, so the question is... what should I do with this PAK to be able to suscribe in RedHat and finally download the software?
    Best Regards,
    Roberto López.

    Hello Reuben,
The issue you are facing is related to this bug: https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCui85699 the current workaround is to downgrading the firmware to 1.4.7 (ucs-c220-huu-1.4.7h) through HUU and performing a complete power cycle which seems to fix the issue.
Currently, the bug is still under investigation, so if you cannot/don't want to downgrade, you may open a case and ask the aforementioned bug to be attached to the case and you will probably be asked for information that can contribute to the investigation or you can simply try the workaround and wait for the bug fix by subscribing yourself to the bug.
You may subscribe to the bug following the next link:
