It's ok for personal use, but for commercial use, however, you may have to buy licenses from Oracle.

  • RMAN on Redhat7.1 cannot startup

    Hi,there
I have installed oracle817 on redhat7.1 ,but I can not start up rman ,who can tell me why?

    Hi,
You may have solved this by now, but if not; I had a similar problem on SuSE 8.0 linux. It turned out that there was another "rman" executable in my PATH before the $ORACLE_HOME/bin directory. I gzipped it (via root) and rman started up perfectly.
    Hope this helps

  • Who can tell me how to install Oracle9i Database under redhat7.3

I want to install Oracle9i Database under redhat7.3,but fail, can you tell me how to install it.

You can set it at infopackage level.
Go to infopackage-> Scheduler menu-->Data S Default Size(something like this).
Inside this you have option to set size of datapackage.
    Hope this helps.

I see. Sorry. I didn't understand what you were asking.
The way that you decide to update is up to you. I plan updating via WiFI myself and not use iTunes. You have the choice. If you decide to update with iTunes, you may want to temporarily disable your firewall and antivirus software until the update completes. But you can update over WiFi if you want to do so.
Remember that millions of people world wide will want to update their devices and the servers may be very busy today.

  • Which combination is the right one ? WL 6.0 RedHat7.x JDK Version

    Hello there,
it seems there are a lot of problems concerning installation and running
    of WL6.0 on a RedHat System 7.x
So what is the "right" combination of JDKs, RedHat7.x and WL6 ?
Is it possible to use the IBM JDK 1,3 instead of the SUN JDK ?
Which SUN JDK 1.3.x is really working allright with WL6 and especially
    with RedHat 7.x ?
Is there any FAQ to these topics ?
    Thanks
    Lorenz

IBM JDK 1.3 work fine with WL 6.0 and RedHat 7.1
    I installed IBM JDK, WL6.0 and RedHat7.1

Have you installed the patch set 3.0
and thus upgraded to 8.1.6.3.0. It
    definetely fixes some EJIB bugs.

  • Error in writing to file.................................... Oracle9iV2 on RedHat7.3

What is causing the failure of the Oracle JDBC Development Drivers component during the Oracle9i installation, I'm getting the
Error in writing to file classes111_g.jar
If I skip this component then it keep on listing other files including a file.PDF file and I checked all the permissions so it is not a file permission error.
Could someone list the steps they took to set up JAVA on their Linux box and then what you had to add exactly to your ".bash_profile"
Perhaps this is what I'm doing wrong.
    Thnx.

Your error has been completely addressed here http://www.puschitz.com/InstallingOracle9i.html. This is very informative. You may want to check this out before proceeding. The straight solution to this is when this error shows up, leave it open, find the native_threads/java file from the CD to the directory Oracle is asking for this. I had this problem and it turned out when I extracted and burnt it to a CD, it didn't copy the native_threads directory and others, so you want to check this as well.

  • OCCI link problem with gcc2.96 in Redhat7.2, Oracle9.0.1

When I compiled and linked the occi program occidml.cpp with dynamic shared library, all was OK.

I'v read a topic that we can build the program with static library to avoid segmentation fault.

Who can help me ? Is the static library libocci9.a with any problem?

I tried clicking on the link and nothing whatsoever happened. So I tried a control click and selected "Open Link in new window" and a new window opened, followed by the Utilities folder opening. I made a test.html file with the link in it, put it on my startup drive and it worked as expected, and ditto for putting it on a second internal drive. I then put it on my iDisk and navigated to it thru its web site address of
    http://homepage.mac.com/francines/testlinks.html
and discovered that the two other "local" operation links (to launch ScriptEditor) both worked, but the open folder link no longer did, except by using control click and choosing either "Open link in new window" or new tab. A new Safari window or tab opens, then the Utilities folder opens.
I then tried the page in Firefox, and it didn't work AT ALL, not even with new window or tab. I then tried Mozilla and Netscape. Same deal. The ancient Internet Explorer opened the Utilities folder inside a new browser window rather than the Finder. This might be a clue as to why the link doesn't work as expected, but unfortunately I don't know what it means.

    Hi.
Another point, there are some smp issues in RH 7.1, which is why (reading the fine print on
our platforms page) we only support smp on RH 7.2. If possible you should upgrade to 7.2 if
you need to use an smp kernel.
    Regards,
    Michael

From our support page (http://edocs.bea.com/wls/platforms/index.html#linux) it looks like
we support kernel 2.4.7-10smp, and you are running a beta kernel- 2.4.5-beta4va3.15smp.
If possible try updating your kernel to this version.

    But this had no effect.
I have spent three full days on this problem and have scanned

I would appreciate if anyone could point me in the right direction.

  • Hey !! do you know how to install developer 6i for linux redhat7.1?

Currently I am working on a Windows environment. I downloaded developer 6i for linux and I read the documentation and I did the preinstallation tasks. But when I started the installation an error ocurred saying that some folders did not exist. This is not logig to me, because I am installing and therefore no folder should exist. Do I need to install something before in solve that problem???
For GOD, Christ and all saints do you know how to help me....
    Thank you anyway!!

I found the best way to handle using the program between networked computers is to use extension arguments.
    Simply.
Install the program as administrator BUT do not let it start when installed.
Then edit the properties of the desktop icon so that it has properties so that you run firefox with command line arguments (www.kb.mozillazine.org/command_line_arguments)
Thus if your desktop icon on each Pc is firefox.exe -profile "h:\firefox\profile"
Firefox when started with this desktop icon will always use the profile on the server drive H
Once this is completed you can run the program and it will create the profile in the selected drive location.
if you delete the profile it will create another in the same location.
This also works for Mozilla Thunderbird.
Hope this helps anyone that had the same problem as me.
