Redirect Blog to Wordpress

I would like to use my .MAC and iWeb 08 for my Web site; however, I needed added blogging functionality. Can you help me redirect my blog tab to my Wordpress blog?

The code, to embed it in an html snippet, is found in Wordpress.
Hazell: As a Wordpress user I thought this sounded funny as I don't recall ever seeing that. Unless it's only available with self hosted Wordpress installations... it's not there.
Care to shed more light?

IWeb Blog or Wordpress

I want a site that posts my friends snowboarding tricks. I am cheap and I am wondering what is the best way to post these videos. Using the blog on iweb or am I going to have to use something like wordpress. I want it to have a title and a short description like the blog but continuous like a forum. I would like to know your opinion if they should put them on uTube and just put a link on the blog or forum or...... I would love to podcast it right there on the site. I am willing to work on this to make it look good. I just want the site about snowboarding tricks? I need some advice.

How can I redirect iWeb Blog to Wordpress

Hi - I'm looking to redirect my iWeb blog to a temporary WordPress blog and was hoping there was some code I could use to do this? Or can I do this directly in iWeb?
* Would I download the Index.html file to do this to add code? Then reupload to iDisk when finished?
Is there a standard redirect code for me to use? I'm looking to have readers type web.me.com"username" - and be directed to a Wordpress blog site.

You can add the following code to an HTML snippet on your iWeb blog page:

When someone lands on your iWeb blog they will immediately be redirected to your other blog.

I had to migrate my private Blog about my 2 years old little daughter from Apples mobileme servers to a wordpress account.
I wanted to keep all the comments too (Marlas birth..). So i wrote a perl script to do the job. It is far from beeing perfect, but it works for me. So it may work for you too. You have to adjust some things, that‘s for sure.
Features:
-Keep Comments
-Keep Images (hmm mostly)
-Sets email-adresses for comments by Name
-Sets Tags by text strings occured in title or body
-Free, but my daughter will get every euro you donate! THX!
Note: The script works only while the apple servers are up. After 30. June all your comments are gone!

Hmm, we have to see if we can get the images right. The main problem is that iweb uses the same shapeimageXYZ.png shema for every post and wordpress need to have unique filenames. No, the script does not use any local file, it get's all information directly from the mobileme servers.
Thanks for your patience - I do appreciate your help on this and I see the potential for your script. It's the closest thing to a solution I've seen so far. Worst case scenario, I'll get an engineer at work to help me figure out what to do!

Move iWeb blog to WordPress?

I hope someone can help me. I have a blog at a MobileMe site that will soon disappear. The address is web.me.com/tjkk2 . I now have a WordPress blog and would love to move the entries at this old site into the new WordPress one. Is there a way that this can be done? Dr Howard Bellin Blog on Wordpress using Dreamweaver

Hello! I'm new to developing websites and have been using wordpress as my main content management system. I started learning dreamweaver and was wondering if it was possible to update my blog "Dr. Howard Bellin" through dreamweaver? I noticed that Wordpress doesn't allow certain items that I may need in the future and have been looking into coldfusion develop as a solution... any suggestions?

Transferring iWeb blog to Wordpress - Help!!?!!?

Has anyone found a way to transfer the comments? I know I can output to a folder and transfer the html files, but this leaves behind the many, many, many comments on my blog!!

Unzip it and you find seven comment pages, you need to upload them to your web space and link to them from WP.
If you want to add them directly to WP blogs, you can open them with a text editor and copy+paste page codes between <body> ... </body>

Depending on how many posts you have, it may be best to copy and paste them into Wordpress. I don't know for sure, but I dought if there is any process that will do that automatically for you. I would have your iWeb blog (edit Mode) window open and then Create a new blog in Wordpress. Copy the iWeb title/paste into Wordpress - Copy the iWeb blog text/paste into Wordpress. It should go fast once you get the first one done because you'll do the same for all. Hope that helps.

IWeb '09 and WordPress blogging

As a volunteer, I currently have two web-sites for separate annual public events published by iWeb and hosted by GoDaddy. Each event is autonomous from the other. One event is for a history-based reunion in the summer, the other for a winter festival.
If I were to create a blog on WordPress.com (which I assume to be a free service) for each event, is there a way to connect the WordPress.com blogs to their respective event web-sites, so that each site could show a "blog" page in the header and allow a visitor to visit the blog without leaving the event's web-site?

I found this tip on the iWeb Unlimited tips blog, and was wondering if this could be used to do what I was asking about in my Original Post in this thread:

WordPress blogs

I can't get Safari 2.0.4 to access the blog page WordPress. BTW: I still run os-x 10.4 and will not be upgrading any time soon.
WordPress blog pages cause Safari to shut down as soon as a search inquiry begins to load. Any ideas out there?

yes, I see what you mean - not a lot you can do directly in safari 2.0.4 except tell wordpress
the crash is caused by problems with wordpress's code & some of the system frameworks that safari uses; you can run a version of safari with more up to date frameworks by downloading a nightly build of webkit which uses you existing safari app, but makes it load newer frameworks.... this does seem to solve your specific problem in the several searches I just tried...
you know if you update to 10.4.11 ( free btw ) you can use safari 3.1.1 ? ( 10.4.11 comes with 3.0.4 i think ) ; anyway, 3.1.1 seems immune to the crashes too.

Problems Importing Wordpress Blog

I tried to import the blog from wordpress in the regular way. I got the XML file from Wordpress which had all of our posts, I followed the import wizard on the Business Catalyst page I'm making, but each time it would pop up with an error about mandatory colums. Why would it do this?

I suspect that the XML file might be malformed. Please take a look at this article http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-1748 and make sure that your file is fine. If you're still having issues, submit a case with support and supply the file, the site url and the name of the blog you are trying to import it into.

IWeb versus WordPress for blogging

Just seeking advice - I need to create professional blog which points to my registered URL (eg registered on GoDaddy - eg. www.robenzo.com/blog).
I am Ok with iWeb - but I find it rather clunky for everyday blogging. I don't want to have to migrate from one site to another in the future.
Anyone out there with experience with both iWeb 09 and Wordpress? Would you recommend simply starting with WordPress and not iWeb? Ultimately, I want my own URL not, the WordPress one. So just want to know which was to go.

Robenzo ~ I've experimented with both iWeb's blog and WordPress's and I would recommend WordPress rather than iWeb. To use your own URL (Domain), see this doc:
