Redirect on server

How to do a server redirect from http://server1 to http://server2 using the admin console?

You could use NameTrans redirects if you like, but the more of these you have the more unmanageable your obj.lconf will become, and eventually it may start to have a performance impact on the server.
A preferable solution would be to upgrade to Web Server 7.0 and use the Lookup function. This would allow you to have an external name/value file that is evaluated as a single NameTrans.

  • Remote Desktop local printer redirection problem - Server 2012 Foundation

    Hi,
I am trying to print from Windows Server 2012 Foundation to my local printer hosted on Windows 7.
When I enable local resources in the RDP client, I can see my printers on the server like redirected. All seems like no problem occured. But only print does not work. ;-)
I can see the document name in the queue with Error status.
I tried set up GP with disabling Easy print, the drivers are identical on both machines, event logs are clear.
The server is freshly installed, running only File server role. No Domain controller role is set. No Terminal Service is set (i think in Foundation is it not possible), only allowed RDP.
RDP client is the newest. I have not any problem to print from other servers (WS2003, WS2008R2) using this printer. Everytime is the printer automatically redirected to TS*** port and works.
I spent few hours searching solution with no effect.
    Any idea? Many thanks!

    Hi,
Did you find any error message during this issue?
Please check you have enabled necessary port for printer redirection on server side. You can check “Do not allow client print redirection” is disable under GPO setting. Also the user must have enough permission to print the document. Please check below link

  • 301 Wiki SSL redirect via Server Admin not working

I can't get http://myserver.com/wiki to redirect to https://myserver.com/wiki. I have other 301 redirects to send users to https pages working fine. How can I fix this? Thanks for your time - it's much appreciated. (Mavericks/Server Admin 3.1.2)

Regarding the redirect, I don't really understand why it's not possible. You can edit the non-SSL website in Web and add a 301 for /Wiki to redirect to https://myserver.com/wiki. In fact you can redirect the entire site to SSL - but that is problematic. I can understand why Mavericks server would be designed to automatically use SSL for wiki logins, if it's available. I only looked at redirects because this was not working. Without a redirect or with a redirect - I can login to Wiki via non-SSL or SSL. Where (specifically in which text file) are these redirects created using Server Admin written to? I can't find them in apache2/httpd.conf. Thanks again for your help.

    Hi,
I make HTTPS request to server via CSS and now my question is can i get the response from the server in HTTP mode due to redirect function. I want to put it in HTTPS is this possible???
    Regards

Are you offloading SSL on CSS and sending clear traffic to servers and servers and sending back redirects using http? If thats the issue and you want clients to get redirects with https Use urlrewrite feature on CSS

  • Reader 11.0.3 unusable after APPDATA redirection to server

    Hello everyone,
    Clients: Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 x64
    Server: Windows 2008 Enterprise R2 SP1 x64
    Adobe Reader XI (11.0.3)
All users are configured to use roaming profiles and folder redirection.
Folder redirection, Dfs link to a file server in our datacenter, is set for: Documents, Downloads, Desktop, Links, Favorites, Videos and Searches.
Roaming Profiles are configured to use a Dfs link to a file server in our datacenter.
Initially, we had APPDATA set to point to a local folder: C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming
We're testing using folder redirection for APPDATA folder, but in our lab we noticed that Adobe Reader XI basically stops working after we enabled this policy. Even if we just launch Adobe Reader, the application goes into Not Responding... and never exists out of that state. (see screenshot)
Anyone knows how to get Adobe Reader XI to work again, but with APPDATA redirected to a server share?
    Thanks!

    Pat,
Thanks so much for your reply.
Disabling Protected Mode did the trick for me. Closing Reader and re-opening didn't seem to take, but after restarting my test machine, viewing a PDF is now so much faster and the application is now useable again. I'm going to keep running some tests to make sure I duplicate every possible scenario, but this is a great start, thanks!!

  • Clipboard redirection gpo server 2012r2

    HI ,
I am in the process of testing server2012 in our domain .
And i got a small issue with the clipboard redirection computer GPO .
We currently allow copy /paste via RDP for some server .
Everything working fine for server 2008r2 , forest level 2008r2 all with all 2012 template up to date .
This gpo setting as been working for year without a itch under 2008r2 .
But i cannot get it to work under server 2012 or 2012 r2 .
my gpresult , rsop, and regkey setting show the the proper setting on my server2012 test server and properly applied .
All my other TS config are looking fine . Even my ts clipboard monitor running fine .
But my copy paste either in or out off the server is always gray out .
Anyone have a hint how i can debug this .
I have reset user profile even new account got this issue.
    i am talking about
Windows Components/Remote Desktop Services/Remote Desktop Session Host/Device and Resource Redirection

  • How to enable printer redirection in server 2012 (client printer should map in server 2012)

    Hello All
I have 3 new 2012 servers by default client printer should map in 2012 server i have enabled in RDP properties but no luck can any one have the idea about this issue.

    Hi Mohan,
You can refer below links to configure Printer redirection in Windows Server 2012.

  • Printer redirection using Server 2008 R2 RDS

    Hi
I have a server 2008 R2 (not a domain controller) running as a remote desktop session host with 2 remote XP SP3 client PCs connecting to it. Up until Friday last week these client PCs could successfully print via the redirected printer using the RD Easy
Print Driver. As from this week though all printing has ceased! No updates have been installed on either server or clients in the interim. When I try to send a test print from the server (logged on using RD 7 for XP) it tells me that the test print has failed,
do I want to run the troubleshooter? If I say yes then the troubleshooter fails with an unexpected error, the details of which include error code 0x80070057. If i try to print from the server using notepad I get the error "the parameter is incorrect". If I
print from wordpad the document appears briefly in the queue but nothing prints. If I manually add a printer (using specific printer driver - not easy print driver) and choose the correct redirected port and then print using this printer, the print job appears
briefly in the queue and then disappears - nothing appears in the print queue on the client PC and nothing prints. Initially printing like this caused the client TsWpfWrp.exe to fail but upgrading the version of TsWpfWrp.exe stopped this problem. I have tried
updating to .net 4.0 on the client PC, upgrading from RD 6.1 to 7.0, XP SP2 to SP3 all to no avail.
Does anyone know the solution to this problem? I am at a complete loss as to the way forward. I have checked all group policies and set all the correct permissions on the spool and PRINTERS folder in system32 on the server and nothing seems to help.
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi,
Please try to check the following items.
    1.
Remove the Remote desktop easy print from Print Management console.
    2.
    Remove the complete package.
    3.
Then install the Remote desktop easy print driver again.
    Please also check if the
fenableRDR key still exists in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\Wds\rdpwd.

  • Redirect print server webpage in a 2008 R2 Failover Cluster.

I am configuring a 2 node 2008 R2 Failover Cluster with print services as a resource. On a client, i can install a printer by going to the website http://virtualprintserver.domain/printers/, selecting a printer and click on connect.
To prevent showing the default IIS page, i want to redirect http://virtualprintserver.domain to http://virtualprintserver.domain/printers/.
How can i achieve this? I have searched in IIS manager, but could not find anything.
    Thank you for your help.

    Solved!
After consulting a colleague with web design knowledge we came up with the following solution:
    Go to %SystemDrive%\inetpub\wwwroot\
    Rename iisstart.htm in iisstart.htm.old
    Create a new index.htm file with the code: <html><head><title></title><meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;URL=http://virtualprintserver.domain/printers" /></head><body></body></html>

  • Servlet redirecting at Server side

    Hi,
I need to redirect to a Servlet on another Servlet.
    response.sendRedirect("http://www.xyz.com/servlet/customerserviceServlet.TestServlet.do");
I need to pass some request parameter. I know one method is to pass the parameter through the URL.
However due to some security constraints I cannot use this method.
Is there an alternate approach to this? Can I send the parameters using Header. If yes, then how?
    Thanks!!

You cannot. Besides, being able to modify the header is just as big a security risk as sending the parameters as part of the url. Any idiot can install a packet sniffer and see what is inside the header. Perhaps encrypting the parameters is better?

  • Don't Want to Give User URL of server/pls/portal30  How Do I Redirect User?

    Hi,
How do I perform a redirect so if my portal application is at
myserver/pls/portal30, but all i want is for my end-users to
type in the server name and it redirects them to the portal
app? I also do not want end-users obviously to hit the Apache
    page.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Andy

Just create an html file with this code :
    <html>
    <body onload=window.location.replace("server/pls/portal30")>
    </body>
    </html>
Save it in the path $OAS9i_HOME/Apache/Apache/htdocs as
    index.html.
When the user access http://server the html file is going to
    make the redirection.
Another solutions is putting this line in apache config file
    (httpd.conf located on $OAS9i_HOME/Apache/Apache/conf):
    Redirect / http://server/pls/portal30
    Good look.

  • I keep getting error that page isnt redircting properly..server redirecting in a way that will never be completed..always says cookies are disabled...diid what was suggested in your articles but this did not helpchangeiiiererl

i play games on facebook: cityville, frontierville...when you try to help others with missions. you click on things they need which then directs you to a page that registers what you sent in that specific game/or to open the game. There are times when I am redirected there / then there are times I am not. Here lately I am getting a white screen which says the page isn't redirecting properly, server redirecting in a way that will never be completed...it also says this problem can sometime be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies..I went to the firefox site and did what was suggested by firefox when there may be a cookie problem with to no avail...please help

If clearing the cookies doesn't help then it is possible that the file <i>cookies.sqlite</i> that stores the cookies is corrupted.
Rename (or delete) <b>cookies.sqlite</b> (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete <b>cookies.sqlite-journal</b> and <b>cookies.txt</b>, if they exist, in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder] in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

  • Redirect Remote App to a Particular server

    Hi Guys,
I have a terminal services farm with 2 RDS host servers
We are using published applications. Users logon and get their applications and then get redirected to either of the servers in the farm server 1 & server 2
We seem to have an issue with one of the servers...I have published Wordpad to test this but I cannot seem to get logged onto server2 when I want to simulate the issue and begin troubleshooting
I need to either be able to publish this app to just one server ? like Citrix ..but i dont think this can be achieved?
Or have a user always logon to this server2 each time and not server 1 .
I know I can disable logon for the server 1 but that would effect all apps.....
    Anyone have any ideas?

    Hi,
Sorry to say but all servers which are member of same RD Farm name are expected to have access of all application installed. We cannot control which specific server in a RD Farm a user is directed to. Still we can configure RemoteApp under RDSH server and assign
the user to connect to the specific RemoteApp by assigning RemoteApp User Assignment.
By this way, suppose we install WordPad as RemoteApp on RDSH server 1 and Notepad as RemoteApp on RDSH server 2 then provide the access to the specific user to access that RemoteApp under user assignment and don’t allow under other App so that specific user
can only access the assigned RemoteApp.
Anyway for redirection of server is managed by RDCB and there are different ways now to handle such as DNS RR, NLB, Hardware Load balancer or Dedicated Farm redirection and it depends on you what you prefer for your environment.
    More detail.

    Hope it helps!
