Redirect page if plugin not installed

I need to provide an alternative (html only) page for users
without the flash player installed. What I don't know is how to set
up a redirect based purely on whether someone has flash player
installed.
Help!

Wow, blast from the past. I'm afraid we didn't, it was incredibly frustrating as we had this working on older versions of Sharepoint. Maybe you'd have better luck posting on an ASP.NET forum. We are looking at doing the same thing in SharePoint 2010 very
soon so if I find a solution I will post a link on this forum. Sorry about that!

  • PXI 8196 connection problem: plugin not installed

    Hello NI:
The host PC interacting with our PXI 8196 (1052 chassis) recently had a hard drive failure, and I have had to reinstall all of our LabVIEW software and custom VIs on a new computer. The software is up and running, but I am having problems with connectivity to the PXI. The PXI is recognized in MAX, and everything is accessible (scales for our load cells, etc etc). But when I open up my labview VI project, I cannot connect to the PXI. It has a yellow triangle with an exclamation point next to it, and when I right click, the error message says that the plug-in is not installed. I have one CD that seems to have PXI drivers on it, but after installing, I had the same problem.
I was not the one who originally connected this system, and I am having trouble finding the documentation to get me back up and running. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

So I have attached a screenshot from MAX showing all my devices and modules. Through MAX, I am able to access test panels for my modules (like the 6259 DAQ board) as well as the custom scales I have previously set up for the 9 load cells we use. The other screenshot shows where the issue still lies... when opening my LabVIEW project.
When re-installing all the software, I do not remember seeing anything titled "PXI Platform Services". Will all of the MAX connections work without Platform Services? If not, can you direct me to the correct download? We are using Windows XP and LabVIEW 8.2.
Also, I do not see the PXI or anything from NI in the Windows Device Manager. Again, maybe this is because the above Platform Services are not installed?
    Thanks for your help!

  • Plugin not installed.

I have twice downloaded and installed quicktime, but cannot see movies on either IE6 or Opera 7. In Opera, I get a message that the plug-in is not installed.

I have a similar problem. I emailed Apple Support and was referred here so I will be grateful of some advice about getting a fix.
I paid for a Registry Mechanic programme but that has made no difference!

  • Adobe Reader Plugin not installed in IE

    W7 64 bit Ultimate
I have Adobe Reader installed and running fine on my PC (Adobe Reader XI - 11.0.09)
It also works fine within Firefox .. plugin installed, enabled & working
However due to a specific requirement I have to use IE  (v 11 latest)
This currently will not work with on-line adobe forms ... "Read X" shows when I try to access adobe forms, when I look under add-ons .... only Adobe Shock wave shows, there is no Adobe reader plug-in.
I have re-run Adobe Reader install ... it comes back with message 'application already installed'
How can I install the IE browser plug-in?
Within Manager Add-ons I click on 'find plugins & toolbars' but it has nothing for Adobe or reader (pretty useless)
Anybody know how I can install it .... Adobe web pages just say enable it, but can't as it does not show.

Slight typo .... the form on screen was all in RED tables lines ... and above it a large Red 'X'
In show all add-ons    it did not show ... full de-install & re-install of Adobe Reader XI made no difference.
I then deinstalled IE and re-installed and it seems to have fixed it.
At least on IE ... still does not work on FireFox

  • Film Touch Pro 2 Plugin Not Installing on Premier Pro CC 2014

Just paid for and downloaded "Film Touch 2 Pro" from Pixelan via the Adobe site. Installed as directed but the plugin in is not available in my version of Premier Pro. I am running the latest version of Premier Pro CC (2014) is this compatible with this version????
Any help would be appreciated thanks.
    Paul Smith

I was not aware you could get plugins from a Adobe Site. Could you give a link.
It should run in nearly all versions.
If it does not work you have to contact Pixelan.
Do you see the plugin in the Plugins folder of Premiere (Program Files)?

  • J2SDK 1.4.2 plugin not installing

I'm installing the j2sdk_nb cobundle on SuSE 8.2 Linux with Mozilla 1.2.1
The sdk and ide appear to install correctly, but the plugin doesn't:
    - I uninstalled old java plugin (blackdown)
    - root installation on /opt/j2sdk_nb
    - also tried user installation on home
Installation is reported successful but no plugin.
    Any ideas?
    Michael.

The plugin does not get installed automatically. You have to create a symbolic link from /opt/j2sdk_nb/j2sdk1.4.2/jre/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so to ~/.mozilla/plugins, and then restart Mozilla.

  • Keep getting error, Plugin not installed MIME PlugIn application/x-mplayer2

many wb pages are not accessable, i keep getting this error messge?
The page “Coastalwatch :: surfcams :: surf reports :: swell forecasts :: news” has content of MIME type “application/x-mplayer2”. Because you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, this content can’t be displayed.
Wher do i get this plug-in from? Or is it as simple as changing a setting on the system?

Hi Percy and welcome to the forums!
Wher do i get this plug-in from? Or is it as simple as changing a setting on the system?
Probably a bit of both. Try this:
These are the downloads and the settings you need in order to view/hear pretty much everything: The setup described below has proved repeatedly successful on both PPC and Intel macs, but nothing in life carries a guarantee!
Assuming you already run OS 10.4.9 or above and have Quicktime 7.2, and are using Safari 2 or 3, download and install (or re-install even if you already had them) the latest versions, suitable for your flavor of Mac, of:
    RealPlayer from http://uk.real.com/player/
Flip4Mac WMV Player from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/wmcomponents.mspx (Windows Media Player for the Mac is no longer supported, even by Microsoft)
    Perian from http://perian.org/
    Adobe FlashPlayer from http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash
In Quicktime Preferences, under advanced, UNcheck Enable Flash, and under Mime settings/Miscellananeous only check Quicktime HTML (QHTM).
In Macintosh HD/Library/Quicktime/ delete any files relating to DivX (Perian already has them).
    Now repair permissions and restart.
The world should now be your oyster!
You should also have the free VLC Player from http://www.videolan.org/ in your armory, as this plays almost anything that DVD Player might not.

  • Avoiding 'java 1.4.2 plugin not installed properly' error when installing

In the past, with Java 1.3, I used to create Java application installation processes for Windows
by simply including the /jre folder (in full) as part of my application and have an executable file
    that loads "/jre/bin/javaw -jar myJarFile.jar".
This was very simple, neat and reliable, but now that I am using 1.4.2 something different has started
happening. When the files are being copied to the user's system (both my application and the
/jre directory) Windows reports on some machines a diologue box saying "Java 1.4.2 plug-in not
properly installed". You can click "ok" and the error comes up a few more times, but of course
the application runs fine after all that.
Developers want to distribute a local JRE that is the same version that their app was tested on, but in
the raw manner such that it does not interfere with any other JRE installations.
Is there any way around this error?
    Regards
    Julian Cochran

Incase anyone is interested I'm posting back the solution for this problem. Just delete the files np*.dll within the [jre]/bin directory and the plug-in warning message during installs will not appear. These dll files do not seem to be needed for my application at least and I expect only relate to browser plugins and not desktop apps.
    Regards
    Julian

  • Bug ? Pages.app Update not installed

I am using Pages 5.5 and received the notice for the 5.5.1 update. I went to the store, clicked to update and now have listed Pages 5.5.1 as installed Version with date today in my AppStore listing. BUT, when I open up Pages it shows version 5.5, not 5.5.1, and the update is not applied. Checking for not completed downloads also gives no downloads pending.
What went wrong and how do I get the .1 update?

It is 2014 and this is not an ancient Windows machine.
Which has nothing to do with anything.
Restarting a computer is the 1st rule of thumb when troubleshooting.

I dit remove the pages app and reinstall but stil the same problem the installation will not finish.  I waited the whole night but nothing happened.  The progress barr stays at a little point of the end.

I called apple support and they walked me through it. I think I had installed the trial period one and it was blocking the one I had purchased from downloading. They should help you if you punched it. Good luck

  • Adobe reader plugin not installing

    Hi,
I'm trying to open adobe reader in safari to read pdf's. I have the latest versions of safari and reader and the plugin is within the /Library/Internet Plug-ins/ folder. I have the right boxes clicked within adobe's preferences. The plugin doesn't seem to be installed when I go to Help -> Installed Plugins within Safari. Does anyone have guidance for me? Is this a lost cause?
    Thanks,
    Pat

    Hi Pat
    Welcome To Apple Discussions
Sometimes 2 or more Reader plug-ins are inadvertently installed in the system; one in the Main Library, the other(s) in the User Account>Library.
Check your User Library>Internet Plug-in folder. If the Reader plug-in is installed there as well as in your Main Library>Internet Plug-in folder, remove one of them. The former makes Reader accessible only to your User Account, the latter makes it accessible to any User Account.

  • HT201314 I want to remove older updates from APP Store update page that will not install because they are not compatable with my OS Version 10.8.5

There are a couple of updates on my APP STORE page that are extremely annoying, they can't be installed because they are to old for my OSX version 10.8.5, I want to delete or remove them so that Spotlight  stops telling me that I have 2 updates to install, when they can't be installed unless I revert to an older OS version.

  • Computer says plugin not installed correctly.

I am having all sorts of trouble with Quicktime. When I click the Quicktime icon, it opens another program and when I try to go to a website with Quicktime, the window stops responding. An error message concerning the plugin has been popping up on website with quicktime video. please help.

When you click on QT it opens another program. I've seen this happen when a video card driver was not compatible. Take a look into Device Manager>Display Adapters to see if there is a yellow circle with a exclaimation mark

  • Flash plugin will not install even after installing the latest version Flash

When I go to a site that contains Flash content, it says "A plugin is needed to display this content" and there is a link to install the plugin. Additionally, there is a message at the top of the page that says "Additional plugins are required to display all the media on this page" with an option to "Install Missing Plugins." I click the link to install the missing plugin, and a dialog box pops up that says "The following plugins are available:" and lists "Adobe Flash Player 11.0.1.152" with a check box next to it. The box is checked, and I click "Next" to install. It goes through the motions, and then tells me that "No plugins were installed." There is a link to manually install the plugin, which takes me to Adobe's Flash download page. I unchecked the box to pair McAfee Security with the download, and downloaded the latest version of Flash (to be honest, I've actually downloaded this exact same version about 10 times today). The dialog box pops up, I save the file, and once it has downloaded, I open the containing folder (my downloads folder). I then close all programs (including Firefox) except for the Windows Explorer folder that I'm going to run the installer from. I double-click on the Flash installer to run the installation. The installation process completes, the installer tells me that the download is successful, and my browser opens back up with an "Installation Successful" message from the Adobe website. Yay! My installation is successful... Orrrrrr not. Navigating back to the page with the Flash media - still have a message saying I need the plugin. Attempt to download plugin again...no dice.
THEN, I go to "Manage my add-ons" thinking maybe I need to enable the plugin. There is no Flash (or Shockwave) plugin listed on any of the menus - it's like it doesn't exist.
I downloaded the latest version of Java because I read somewhere that Flash requires Java to work; I installed the "Add-On Compatibility Reporter" so I could force Java to be enabled. It made no difference whatsoever, as best I can tell.
I also went to Adobe's page where you can see what version of Flash you're running (http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/) and it doesn't even show that I have Flash installed. In Internet Explorer, it does show that I have Flash installed, but it's the previous version (but that is likely due to the fact that I downloaded Flash from Mozilla, not IE, and they use different modes in each browser - so an update that you download from one browser does not necessarily apply to the other browser).
So in summary: I do not know what on earth is wrong here, but I am about as frustrated as I have ever been in my life. I don't know why the Adobe Flash installation is saying it is successful (is it lying to me??), but there is no plugin showing up in my Manage Add-Ons menu, and I have googled every possible combination of the content in this post and have not found a solution that works yet.

NOTE: Just discovered that Adobe is making a bigger mess than any previously.
They now have a 32-bit uninstaller for Flash '''''AND''''' a separate 64-bit uninstaller for Flash. You will need the 64-bit uninstaller for what you had installed above.
    *32-bit uninstaller: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player_32bit.exe
    *64-bit uninstaller: download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player_64bit.exe
