Redirect traffic destined for an IP on Server 1 to go to Server 2 at DR Site?

DNS is what I'm using for most of my subnets. The problem is that I have a handful of subnets that have devices that are under the control of an outside agency. Those devices access a server in my DC by pointing to the IP Address.
If I performed a failover test to Server 2 at a DR Site, how can I redirect traffic from those subnets to Server 2 if they are still pointing at the IP on Server 1? In the DC, a 6509 sits between Server 1 and the subnets in question. To get to Server 2 at the DR site, I have an FWSM in the DC and an ASA5585 at the DR site.

If your route point is a router or L3 switch then you could configure a route-map with an ACL that is used to change the next hop ip for the servers in the DC to the DRC. This will be a lot of manual configuration and testing but it maybe a viable solution.

  • Reroute Traffic Destined for Outside IP Address

    Please don’t laugh, but we have a legitimate need to have a Sling Box installed at our main location to enable our corporate PR/Marketing person at another office to be able to watch Live Television (News).  For those familiar with a product called Sling Box, this is what they are made for.
    Current configuration:
    -Sling box installed at Waukesha
    -Connected to LAN with an IP on our 32 vlan of 10.128.32.77 (DHCP reservation) -> in sling box terminology this is the “home IP"
    -Configured ASA Firewall to NAT sling box to external IP of ##.###.###.216 -> in sling box terminology this is the “away IP"
    -Accessing the sling box externally works perfectly
    -Accessing the sling box internally on a computer in the same subnet works perfectly
    -Accessing the sling box internally on a computer on any other vlan/subnet fails
    Specific to the last point, there is some magic that apparently happens as I did a packet capture last night while at our remote office.  There is a payload that comes from the sling box data center that tells the playback software which IP to use (home IP vs away IP) and the Wire Shark inspection literally shows the ##.###.###.216 address.  For reasons beyond my understanding, but I remember from deplying the ASA and VPNs there is no way for traffic to leave our firewall (normal traffic is NAT’d to ##.###.###.210) and have it successfully re-enter the same outside interface to then come right back in on ##.###.###.216
    I spoke with Sling Box support and there is absolutely no way to override or specify an IP address within the playback software to expressly connect to the home IP vs the outside IP.
    All of that said, I am wondering how best to:
    Intercept traffic destined for ##.###.###.216 and redirect it to the internal IP address of sling box of 10.128.32.77.  Easy to do on Cisco routers or best to do on windows with a static route?  I am lost and know there is likely a simple static route command or firewall configuration that will make this happen.

    If your route point is a router or L3 switch then you could configure a route-map with an ACL that is used to change the next hop ip for the servers in the DC to the DRC. This will be a lot of manual configuration and testing but it maybe a viable solution.

  • How to do a PortForward/Port Proxy? Redirecting traffic from port 8080 to 80 on the SAME machine

    We have a CFTV system running on Win2008R2 that listens on 4 sequential port numbers and the last port is the Web Browser Port number for management and viwing cameras
    When we configure the port 8077 on the software, it opens 8077, 8078, 8079 and 8080 and works with no problem
    But...
    When we try to configure ports 77 (and therefore 77, 78, 79 and 80) thw applications hangs and seems like not be possible to configure to use port 80
    I could confirm that,  using NETSTAT and the main CFTV application open all required ports with no problem, but only works on ports with a different number from "80", wich is what i want, to make users more confortable, avoiding to type ":PORT_NUMBER"
    after the URL, it will be more "ellegant" solution to use default port 80 for user´s connections
    The question is: How to do a PortForward/Port Proxy? Redirecting traffic from port 8080 to 80 on the SAME machine?
    May i Use NETSH? (based on Help, it can be used to do this, but on different machines, not the same one)
    There is a RELIABLE application, running as a service, that can do the port forward/redirect?

    Hi,
    I’m sorry to tell you that we can’t redirect traffic from a port to another port on the same server itself. But we can do it with a router which is configured to portfoward.
    By the way, according to your description, another program may use the port 80. Is there an IIS installed on the server? If it is necessary, you can consult your CFTV system vendor.
    Hope this helps.

  • No destination for Integration Server found - XI 2.0

    Hello,
      I have developed a few java proxies and have had good luck using the jpf.properties file.  Now, as we would like to set up more of a production scenario we are in need of moving over to the dbconnect.properties and technicalID.properties.  The problem is when switching over to these files I received the "No destination for Integration Server found" error.  So first off I would like to make sure we have the files configured correctly.
    dbconnect.properties
    hostname=xipsys
    systemNumber=03
    user=xiusr
    password=xipswd
    client=300
    language=EN
    ... the dbconnect.properties file is correct I believe.
    technicalID.properties
    SAPTechnicalSystemIdentification=TS_MyTechnicalSystemName.SystemHome.MyPCName
    ... the TS_MyTechnicalSystemName is the technical system that I created in the SLD.  MyPCName is my computer name as this is where I'm running the java proxies from.
    First off, does it look like my files are configured properly?
    Second, in the SLD I've configured my technical system and also a business system with similar names and specified the host as MyPCName.  Is this correct?
    I've also noticed that when I remove the files completely from my system I get the exact same error message however they are in the right location and have the correct names.  Is there anyway to get a better error message out of the system?  I know the files are in the right location cause if I use the jpf.properties in that location it works.
    thx
    XI 2.0

    Well it's getting a lot closer.  I'm getting a different error now and its showing up in tx SXMB_MONI.  The error I get is...
    ROUTING.NO_SENDER:Unable to find a sender
    In the monitor it shows that there was a message pushed but it's red flagged and there is no sender/receiver information.  Is there anything else I need to add to the java proxies?
    The following is my latest configuration ....
    dbconnect.properties looks like
    hostname=myXIServer
    systemNumber=03
    user=XILDUSER
    password=password
    client=300
    language=EN
    technicalID.properties
    SAPTechnicalSystemIdentification=TS_myTechSys.SystemHome.BS_myBizSys
    In the SLD I have TS_myTechSys defined as a "SAP Standalone Java System" on myComputer.mydomain.com.
    Also in the SLD, I have defined BS_myBizSys as a "Java System" and belongs to the TS_myTechSys Technical System.
    In the exChange Profile under ApplicationSystem I have the following defined
    com.sap.aii.applicationsystem.serviceuser.language
    com.sap.aii.applicationsystem.serviceuser.name
    com.sap.aii.applicationsystem.serviceuser.pwd
    com.sap.aii.proxy.framework.connection.timeoutInMSec
    com.sap.aii.proxy.framework.destination
    com.sap.aii.proxy.framework.destination.client
    In addition I also get the following error sometimes...
    JPF loadProfileProperties() - Could not access Exchange Profile: java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError: JCO.classInitialize(): Could not load middleware layer '
    com.sap.mw.jco.rfc.MiddlewareRFC'
    no sapjcorfc in java.library.path
    I have this file as a dll in the same directory as all the jar's.
    in addition XILDUSER is part of the following group
    SAP_BC_AI_LANDSCAPE_DB_RFC
    Should that user have more permission?
    Any ideas?
    XI 2.0
    One more note, I am running my WebApp from an instance of Tomcat 4.1.  This is where the Java Proxies are running and it works fine using the jpf.properties.  Some of the documentation I've recently found has said that it needs to be running on a SAP J2EE engine which we will not be able to do in the end.

  • No destination for Integration Server found

    Hi,

    Thanks to cor-el for the suggestion given in the link. Sadly I have to report:
    1) It is not a bookmark problem and it makes no difference whether I put
    www.adobe.com or 192.150.18.117 in the address bar.
    2) Cookies are allowed and there are no exceptions set
    3) All cookies have been deleted
    4) network.http.sendRefererHeader is already set to 2
    That deals with the items in the linked document.
    Additional information:
    5) I can get into the adobe site from a clean "in memory" installation of PuppyLinux using Seamonkey using the same router and dhcp setup.
    6) un-installing all Mozilla products - rebooting and re-installing makes no difference even when I remove the mozilla folder from docs&settings.
    so as I said in previous post (as annonymous) not a lot makes sense.
    Bear in mind that I have no problem running tracert in a command window
