Redirected to unwanted site

When I click on infoproductkiller.com I get redirected to http://wap.juw.ru/
Even if I get an email from the owner of this site (infoproductkiller.com) and he sends me any links to anything I click on them and I get redirected to http://wap.juw.ru/
I'm using Firefox 3.6.13 on Ubuntu 10.10
If I use the Chromium browser, this doesn't happen.
I've tried Internet Explorer and it doesn't happen
I tried all the changes under the heading "Firefox cannot load websites but other programs can"
with no success.
Can someone please help me figure this out? I need this fixed fast.
Thank you,
Darrell Hare

Hi,
Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
* [http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/default.aspx Microsoft Safety Scanner]
* [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/ MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware]
* [http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208283363 TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit Utility]
* [http://www.surfright.nl/en/hitmanpro/ Hitman Pro]
* [http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner/ ESET Online Scanner]
[http://windows.microsoft.com/MSE Microsoft Security Essentials] is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
Further information can be found in the [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]] article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
Hope this helps!

    When i browse, randomly, (in the avast web page checker shows it as good with green mark) the browser it self redirects to unwanted adult site, and when i close click the next time, i get the original page. When i browse through the firefox history, it gives index index and then redirects to the page. It is sheer unwanted browser.

    similary some index file entries then the unwanted site. i have immediately disabled java RE.
    Is this enough? or is there permanent solution.

    Interestingly enough, I had the same thing happen '''today''' when I clicked on a search result in Google. It hijacked my request and redirected me to this same bioderma(.)name(.)tr server. It only happened once though, and I cannot seem to reproduce it.
    May I ask what kind of plugins you are using? And most importantly, what DNS provider are you using. (That is, do you happen to be using OpenDNS?)
    You can test it here (it will show a checkmark): http://welcome.opendns.com
    I don't have Java enabled, never did.

  • Google searches redirect to unwanted sites such as K Directory

    Using the Google search engine when I click a link in a result I increasingly end up at an unrelated and sometimes totally random website! For example a lot of the time I end up at www.kdirectory.co.uk. Other times I end up on youtube?
    Bizarre and increasingly annoying.

    You may have an infected system. To scan for malware, install, update and run these programs ''in this order''. They are all free for personal use, but some have limited functionality in their "free mode", but the features you'll miss are not really needed to find and remove the problem you have. Remember that ''not all programs detect the same malware''!

    Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs.
    You need to use all programs because each detects different malware.

  • The home page opens unfinished, keep being redirected to unwanted add pages.

    When Firefox opens my home page ( Fox News ) the page doesn't finish. Some of the page is still in what I would call (code) and there are large blank spaces between articles.
    When the home page is opening it often gets redirected to unwanted pages. If I right click on the green back arrow the word redirect is one of the lines there.
    I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it. No change.
    I opened Fox News in Google Chrome and it loaded OK.

    I'm not sure why you are being redirected but here are some thoughts:
    (1) In case your preference for .us is stored in a cookie -- rather than an account setting -- try clearing cookies for the site (this likely will terminate your session, so save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
    * click the globe or padlock in the address bar > More Information > Security > "View Cookies"
    * right-click the page > View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * Tools menu > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
    Any change when navigating from the home page?
    (2) If you granted the site permission to access your location, turn that off. You can access site-specific permissions while viewing a page on the site using the Page Info dialog. Either:
    * click the globe or padlock in the address bar > More Information > Permissions
    * right-click the page > View Page Info > Permissions
    * Tools menu > Page Info > Permissions
    (See screen shot regarding Location permission)
    (3) If the site uses your preferred language to redirect, you could add en-GB and re-order your languages. However, this could lead to strange results on other sites. If you want to try it, access the Languages dialog from Content options here:
    orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Content > Choose button

  • When I try to open some web sites i am blocked by MOZILLA and redirected to a site I did not want and am unable to close or go back without going back to the home page. Help help help

    I have removed the check from the pop up blocked in the MOZILLA options but still get this problem of not being able to open certain sites. The MOZILLA icon appears with the three options available, but before i can click on one I am automatically redirected to a site I did not want, and when I try to go back it will keep coming back to the site MOZILLA put on the computer. I have to close and go back to the home page and start all over again. I have installed a new virus protection system STOPZILLA and could this have any bearing on the problem. After awhile it becomes very frustrating trying to get on line information and being continually redirected. Any ideas?

  • How do I stop Firefox from opening unwanted sites or (inescapable) dialogs

    My Firefox, as soon as I open a web page opens either (1) an overlying dialog typically flashing saying I am the 1000000th person or my computer is slow or buy this or (2) another unwanted site in another tab typically trying to sell something. Cases of type (2) are annoying but at least the tab can be deleted but cases of type (1) prevent me from using Firefox at all because the dialog does not have an exit button so I have to stop Firefox to get rid of it. This problem only happens with Firefox - IE never has these problems. I have scanned for malware using 3 different programs and I have tried deleting Firefox and re-installing it (keeping my profile) but the problem is still there. If I knew what the process was I could at least delete the process.
    I love my Firefox - please help!

    You can check for recently installed suspicious or unknown extensions.
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • How do i get Safari to stop redirecting to mobile sites?

    Mobile websites are a curse, and IMO was one of the main reasons people didn't use the mobile web before the iPhone. Now with the iPhone you can view the actual web (minus flash, which I would really like to see soon, hint hint), without having to deal with these crippled sites, yet most of them still redirect you to their mobile site.
    Someone please tell me there is a way to get safari on the iPhone to stop redirecting to mobile sites without jailbreaking my phone.

    These redirects are controlled by the websites themseives. They figure out if you are on a mobile phone or not and then redirect you to the mobile version.
    The only way to change that is to look for a link on their site that leads to the full version or write the website webmaster asking them for a link to be added.
    There are other ways as well but those aren't supported by Apple so they can't be discussed here.

  • Links in facebook redirecting to phone site

    I have chared a link on facebook to promote my company site. When i clicked it on my desktop the page opened fine. When I clicked a link within the page it redirected to the phone site. I checked and double checked and the links were good.
    I tried it in chrome and it worked fine. But safari seems to be choosing the phone site for every link.
    Any suggestions where I should start looking? The first time I uploaded my site it was with the wrong link to the phone site. But after this is corrected safari still seems to get it wrong.

    Hey
    thanks! I think it was a cache issue with my first wrong link to the mobile website. I was really sweating my pants of. Thanks again!

    Hi Johannes,
    Even on Safari (6.0.5) clicking on the gif or logo at bottom, it takes me to http://www.mozesmedia.be/index.html which is the desktop version.
    Have you tried clearing Safari cache or resetting your Safari or tried on Safari in a different machine?
    Cheers,

  • Redirect to mobile site {subject edited by moderator}

    hello i have a website and a mobile site when i try to upload the mobile site files it ask to over write the main website files ?help in cs6

    You can do this with javascript on the main site's default page -
    <script type="text/javascript">
    if (screen.width <= 730) {
      window.location = "http://www.example.com/m";
    var ua = navigator.userAgent.toLowerCase();
    var isAndroid = ua.indexOf("android") > -1; //&& ua.indexOf("mobile");
    if(isAndroid && screen.width <= 730) {
      // Do something!
      // Redirect to Android-site?
      window.location = 'http://www.example.com/m';
    </script>
    If either of those tests return true, the user is redirected to the default page in the "m" subdirectory which would be where your mobile site and its dependent files are located.

  • I'm not sure if this is a Firefox issue, but in the last week or so, whenever I do a search on Google or Bing, when I click on one of the results, I get redirected to a site like Tazinga!, instead of taking me to my destination.

    For example, I did a search on Google for :
    "resume have summary and objective - Google Search"
    It returned several options. I clicked on :
    "Summary and Objective statements | Magic Pot of Jobs (http://www.magicpotofjobs.com/2005/07/30/summary-and-objective-statements/)
    And instead ended up at:
    http://www.gimmeanswers.net/search/v5_1/searchabc.php?search=Resume+Have+Summary+And+Objective&affiliate=mx1-33371
    This has been occurring with almost every search I do.

    The problem is that what you are asking for is something you know you aren't going to get - specifically the
    I would also like Apple to provide a projected timeline for these fixes. Not a commitment, just a projected time-line.
    You know that is not how Apple do business - ever. While it's entirely possible they will ultimately meet your wishes in terms of the fixes, updates and added features, it won't be part of a 'deal' but just because they will continue to roll out their product plan as if nothing had ever happened.
    On the other hand, I have to say that I agree entirely. Much could and should be achieved simply by building on the platform and advancing it. It isn't an unreasonable wish to see that happen and to know it will happen. Just not Apple's way to tell anyone.

  • Random redirection to other sites

    i've been an internet user for nearly 10 years, but i think alas i've downloaded some sort of virus.
    when i google search for anything, even sites i have before, sometimes when i click the links i'm redirected to other sites trying to sell me cheap tat, and even sites for new mums... i'm 18... and a guy.
    anyone know what i have to do to get rid of this major annoyance?
    P.S. when i click the links i can clearly see in the address bar, that i'm being redirected to 'bots.com' and the like.

    Try downloading and running AVG free and ad-aware. Spybot may also help (but use with caution as it doesn't like playing with ad aware).
    If you can't access the AVG site, use another computer or ask a friend so you can install it.

    Firefox is adding advertising links to certain words on my website cornish-surfing.co.uk, and when I open a new tab an additional window opens with unwanted sites.
    1. How can I stop these things from happening?
    2. Why is it happening?
    These things only happen when I’m using the Firefox browser. I use Sophos antivirus and firewall and the scans indicate my system is clean. So I’m assuming that it’s built into Firefox or there’s a security flaw with Firefox.
    Can you let me know which and how I can stop it from happening?

    hello, this sounds like a problem possibly caused by adware on your pc (certainly nothing that is shipping with a plain official firefox build).
    please go to ''firefox > addons > extensions'' & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].
