Hello,
I wanted to buy skype credit, but when i signed in, and clicked BUY CREDIT, i was automatically redirected to skype china website. It is possible that i first downloaded skype when i was visiting China few years back, but i downloaded english version, and it clearly states in my profile from what is the country that i live in.
How can I fix this?

Hi, hope this would help. I solved this problem by creating a skype manager account (https://manager.skype.com/) in New Zealand and topping up with a NZ credit card. Then add my skype account as a member to the manager account. I allocate credit to this skype account every time I need to top up. It's like a family account and now I top up for my families too . Good luck!

Redirecting to Skype China site

I first downloaded Skype when I lived in China and therefore it was there that Skype thinks I am based. I am no longer in China but every time I try to top up on skype credit, It redirects me to the Chinese site. Then, when I try and buy credit on the Chinese site it tells me to "请使用IE浏览器" (Essentially, use the Irish site). How do I stop both sides from getting confused with eachother?

Why does Safari redirect to Skype

i just loaded Mountain Lion. Web sites that require adobe flash player no longer work properly. i am trying to access the adobe site to install the latest version of flash player and safari keeps redirecting me to skype.com. I read somewhere that i need to flush the cache. I tried that but am still directed to skype in safari when trying to access adobe. Any suggestions?

Unable to buy skype credits

For almost a year I'm trying to buy skype credits. But there are some problems, because I started using skype when I was in China. Now I have to buy credits reading Chinese symbols, luckily they added a translate button to Englisch so I thought my problem was solved. WRONG because I have a European bank account I still can't purchase skype credits!!!!
I should open a new account, but that is also not possible because skype knows my email address and tells me, very friendly that I already have an account. So I'm stuck, I worked around this service for a long time, but now a have to use it again.
So somebody please help me to buy credits and ore change my account to an European one!

While I appreciate the inconvenience, the easiest thing to do would be to create a new Skype account and use or create a different or new e-mail address. Your first account is affiliated with Skype's partner in the PRC.

The certificate for this server is invalid skype

I am attempting at access My Account on an iPhone 5, I am getting a message saying the certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be "secure.skype.com" which could put your confidential information at risk.
My date, time and time zone are all correct. Any suggestions?

Can no longer buy skype credit in Canadian Dollars...

I bought my computer 4 years ago in China. Over there, I paid using my former Chinese bank account.
18 months ago I returned to Canada and started buying skype credit using my Canadian Visa paying in CDN Dollars.
The past six months however I cannot buy credit because the payment page it switches to is the Skype China website requesting payment in RMB.
For five months I was able to use skype by turning on the auto recharge option, where my Canadian visa details are stored. Last month, however, the skype system recharged 14 CDN Dollars, but at the same time cancelled the auto recharge. Now, the system does not let me start up the auto recharge.
On my skype account page on the top right I see the skype China payment company's logo. Clicking the logo, a sign appears saying: "This company gives you more payment options." (in English) My Visa credit card is valid and not part of the problem. What is the problem?

I don't live in CHINA!!

I live in Europe, and have had auto-recharge for years. But I needed to change credit card. So I remove the old one and push "Add new payment method", and voila - I am on Skype China, expected to read Chinese and pay in RMB. Anybody met the same stupidity? There seems to be no way to avoid China.

I had bought a Skype Gift Card worth $10.00 from ChatAndVison, and Skype moderators please don't tell me it's got nothing to do with skype since I was redirected from skype.com itself. It's been 4 days, and I still haven't got any email regarding the gift card being sent and payment being verified.

How to avoid being redirected to Chinese site?

Hi, I cannot proceed my payment in euro as every time I choose a subscription, I will be redirected to Skype's Chinese site. Most of the payment methods listed there require Chinese credit cards. Would you please help me to solve this problem so that I can use my credit card (in euro) to make the payment?

Skype to phone

Dear all,
I have a small company where I need to use skype to phone.
My ISP is blocking VoIP, but I am using an open vpn server to bypass there rules and it will work fine if I send all the internet traffic pass thru VPN but it's useless in my network cause I have a lot off traffic.
What I really want to do is to redirect only skype to phone traffic to the VPN, for that I need to know the UDP and TCP ports that skype will use to make his calls.

Its working now.actually by default UK code was pre-fixed, I remvoed that and now whenever I have to call I dial the complete no. of the country. Also iphone to mobile nos. vedio will only work if the other party has 3G and front camera with them else the vedio call only works from my iphone to anyone using skype on their PC/Mac.
I have to admit I am not at all happy with this gadget's battery life...it drains down like water if I am on calls..very minimal usage but still battery flies out very fast :-( . Dont know why does thing cost so much when it can't even compare its battery life with my htc.

Skype Daesung

I wanted to renew my subscription for calling to Australia from South Korea - have been doing so for nearly a year.
But this time when I went to renew my subscription the browser goes to the Skype Daesung page - even if I wanted to buy one of the (not useful to me) subscriptions through this partner website it requires me to sign into their separate account - which I do not want to do.
Could someone please help me out of this predicament as i really need to remain in contact with people in Australia without paying through my nose for it!

Toggeling redirection phone numbers

Hi Skypies,
I would like to make a suggestion regarding the Skype redirect to phone number feature. Since I tend to regularly move around between buildings I redirect the Skype number to a land phone.
I would appreciate rather than needing to re-enter or deleting the phone number each time in the Web portal that the number could be enabled or disabled when I wish to be contacted on the particular number.
Is it possible that the Skype developers think this function out a bit further and introduce this feature.

Thanks Barry--I appreciate your response. I have the User Guide and have read everything I could in it. I should not have used the word "links" since it is not really a hyperlink per se, and let me see if I can explain it better.
In Google Docs, I have a spreadsheet that has names and phone numbers (and other info). When I open this on my iPhone through the browser connected to Google, it recognizes the phone numbers (they are in blue and underlined like a hyperlink) and you can select it and call the number (a window pops up with the number and either "cancel" or "call").
What I want to do is not have to connect to Google Docs to do this. When I load the Excel spreadsheet with the same information onto my iDisk, it works. I can't edit anything obviously, but the phone numbers appear the same and you can directly dial. So it works with Excel.
However I cannot get a Numbers spreadsheet to do this. I thought it had something to do with the fact that in Excel there is a way to format the cell as a "phone number," but the cells aren't even formatted this way. The are "General."It seems to me the equivalent of this in Numbers is "Automatic" but that doesn't work. Formatting the cell as "text" doesn't work, and doing a Custom format in phone number format doesn't work (unless I did it wrong).
I hope that explains it better. Any ideas/thoughts are appreciated! I really like using Numbers but it seems weird that this doesn't work.

Xcode - "The certificate for this server is invalid"

Hi,
I'm trying to log into my Xcode Server (with it's own self-signed certificate) from my work iMac, I receive the following message:
"The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be “[server name]” which could put your confidential information at risk. Would you like to connect to the server anyway?"
The only option is "OK" which just prompts the login screen again, it doesn't allow me to "connect anyway". How do I get around this? :/

Unable to sign up for subscription

Hello, I'm trying to sign up for the $9.99 - 800 minute/month Skype subscription for calling China. I select this package from the Rates page - http://www.skype.com/en/rates/ - click Continue and it takes me to a page that's all in Chinese - http://client.skype.tom.com/skypebuy/#02?product=package-global-country-mixed-cn-v2-800. I click the button at the top to translate it into English, but there is no option there for the subscription plan. There are two buttons to buy from either the Skype or Skype China site. When I click the Buy From Skype button it takes me back to the original Rates page. Any Advice?

Similar to yourself, I cannot access anything other than the three countries featured with their own buttons. When I type in SP and select Spain, ES(pana) and select Spain the the busy bubble spins for a moment (javascript&colon; shows in the notification bar and then nothing. All variations of timing and spelling have been tried with no solution. I tried to get help 3 months ago without success and there has been no change to the problem.

Strange I can try a 1 month world subscription and my payment is accepted for that item. My mother lives in Spain and she is now very frail. My father died 2 months ago. I need to telephone my mother each day for however much time as is needed for her to be happy.
Where are you Microsoft when your technology is needed to work? Where is Skype now?
