Redistribute Workload across POrgs

Dear all,
has anyone tried to manipulate the redistribution of workload across POrgs in sourcing?
By standard the distribution is restricted to PGroups within the same POrg. Is it possible to manipulate - how can it be done?
Many thanks in advance!
Cheers,
Claudia

Dear all,
thanks for your inputs and expertise!!!
I am not sure, if I stated my question completely:
The simpified case looks like this: There are several backend systems with dedicated POrgs and PGroups. All of them do their tasks in SRM. Now the idea is, to redistribute workload accros POrgs by the trx "Redistribute Workload", which belong to different companies. By standard the system does not allow the redistribution accross company codes. So, why I am not sure, if it could be achieved by using BADI BBP_PGRP_ASSIGN_BADI? Also the wish is to keep the original (right) POrg / PGroup assignment for posting.
Another idea could be to modify the Sourcing Cockpit and enable the selection of SCs for everyone. But here I see the same issue, that the system wants the user working on the requirement be part of the POrg.
All ideas sound like stronger modification - any further input on estimate of needed work and details how to achieve the described requirement?
Many thanks in advance!
Claudia

    Hi all
Why redisribute workload allows to transfer from one purchase group to another purchase group though sc has follow on document but still sc allows me transfer  ?
Why we do have contracts in the redistriution workload. for eg any one can edit the GOA if he has access. what could be the strategy CONTRACTS appearing in redistriution work load.
SC has PO and parially Confirmation done.
is it just changing purchase group name in the cart ? ..

  • Workload Redistribution 'ReportingWorkload' Link

Has anyone been successful at activating the 'reporting workload' link on the Workload Redistribution (redistribute workload) transaction?  If so, can you provide information on what this provides the user?  Screen shots would be great too if possible, or even just a high level description of this functionality once it's activated.
Is a link to BI/BW required to activate/utilize this functionality?  If you could also provide steps on exactly how you were able to activate this in config that would also be very helpful.
Please note that OSS note 835696 is not applicable to us since we are running SRM version 5.0 SRM_SERVER 550, support pack 7.
    Thank-you!

    Hi Natasha,
the report gives an overview of the workload = scs/bids/contracts, per PGroup /
POrg, etc. There are several filter options. Based on the report, responsible
persons have an overview of the workload and can "redistribute" work items to an-
other person in SRM. Via the SAP Business Content available in SAP help, some
details to the reporting can be checked out.
You need to have BW available and done the necessary config. Specifically to
activate the link, the settings in "SRM Server → Cross-Application Basic Settings
→ Define Logical Systems and Template Names for BW Reports" need to be done.
    Thanks,

  • ERROR IN PROCESS VS REDISTRIBUTION WORKLOAD

    Hello All
I create a shoping cart and cart went to ERROR IN PROCESS. and if i looked to to REDISTRIBUTION OF WORKLOAD search a requirement s(shopping cart) , why this ERROR IN PROCESS cart shows as COMPLETED (TICK GREEN MARK) .  no one touched (i.e no Buyer completed a cart) . Why this cart shows as COMPLETED state.
Note 1164862 - Wrong Shopping Cart Status in 'Redistribute Workload'
Shopping Carts with status 'HELD' shown in transaction 'Redistribute Workload' with status 'COMPLETED'.
I am looking for the sap note for below problem
Shopping Carts with status 'ERROR IN PROCESS' shown in transaction 'Redistribute Workload' with status 'COMPLETED'.
    Y Sourcing is completed.=SOURCE_REL_I ="Y" . but EROR IN PROCESS sc set as SOURCE_REL_I = ' '.
Y Sourcing is completed - It can be shown as GREEN TICK MARK in redistribution workload.
Why the ERROR IN PROCESS cart shows as COMPLETED .though my indicator is just SPACE

    Hi Alen
I am pretty sure there is NO status caled COMPLETED in monitoring SC.

  • Repeated purchasing groups across purchasing org

    Hi there,
My client's setup requires the same set of purchasing groups across purchasing organizations. For example:
    Purchasing Org 1:
    PGRP1: SM1
    PGRP2: SM2
    Purchasing Org 2:
    PGRP1: SM1
    PGRP2: SM2
Reason being this is how it is setup in our R/3 system where all organization shares the same purchasing group.
How can I configure this in SRM?

  • Redistribution of workload enhancement

    Dear experts,
I have been looking up this matter for quite some while now. We want to enable the user to redistribute the workload at any point of business, such that all follow on documents be assigned to the same purchasing group. The standard transaction does not do this. Any BAdI for such a requirement? Any other solution rather than developing a custom program.
    Thanks
    <b>M. Ali</b>

    Hi,
There is transaction BBPWLRA01 used for redistribute workload for Shopping cart, Purchase order, Bid invitation and contract.
Also, in WEB GUI you can find option 'Redistribute Workload'  under Sourcing.

  • Redistribution of workload

    Key Words: Redistribution, Workload, Buyer
    Version: SRM 4.0 with R/3 4.6 backend
I was trying out the Redistribution of workload and a issue came up.
A SC was created and approved and a requisition was replicate (or created) in the R/3 backend.  The SC and the requisition is assigned to a buyer (Purchasing Group), say buyer 190.  Then I logon as a buyer and choose the Redistribute Workload.  I pick the SC item and "Assign Manually" the Purchasing Group assignment from buyer 190 to buyer 215.  I then rand BBP_GET_STATUS_2 to updated the SC.  The SC now has a Purchasing Group of 215.  This is expected.  However, when I go to the backend and look at hte requisition in the backend, the Purch. Grp is still 190.
What am I doing wrong?  What do I need to do?  Can Purchasing Group of SAP requisitions be change from EBP?
    Thank you,

  • Workload distribution above SMP

Hi to all sdn's people, i have a question about the workload distribution above SMP.
    My infrastructure is composed by:
    HW
2 IBM xseries server ( 1 for C.I. and 1 for DB) each with:
    8 GB ram
    (16 GB swap)
3 Intel Xeon quadcore processsor 2.66GHz ( so in total 12 core hypothetically available)
    OS
SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9 (x86_64)
    VERSION = 9
    PATCHLEVEL = 3
    SAP
    4.6 C
    DB
    Oracle  9.2.0.6.0 (64 bit version)
    HA
    provided with SteelEye LifeKeeper
    Storage
Provided by an IBM FC SAN with 2GBit bandwidth.
I examine the beavior during long time computing
(like LIS recostruction, custom ABAP program, and so on), with the top command (using the interactive "switch" 1 and I for a better point of view) simultaneously in the two server.
Usually, this jobs work on low weight time (such as during night or weekend), but i note that in DB server only 1 (one) core at time is used during , the other stay in idle for other computing request.
So if for the custom ABAP program, the resolution it may be provided with cleverness like
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/snippets/easily%2bimplement%2bparallel%2bprocessing%2bin%2bonline%2band%2bbatch%2bprocessing
or others, for the other contex i'm in trouble to make "My system" more efficient.
For example in my case a LIS reconstruction during about 118000 seconds (approximately 33 hour).
I observe my system throughout that, and i find (using top) only 1 core of the 12 avaible in db server was working, and with a moderate I/O wait.
If in this case, it may be possible to use, at least 2 core at time, i hope that time needed will decrease.
Probably the LIS specific case could not be appropriate (indeed I don't know if it possible to parallelize that) but is a real case that trouble me.
Now my question is: Anyone knows, if exist, some tricks or cleverness to increase effincency (in other word to set the number of the core simultaneously suitable for long running process) ?
I search on the Net (not only in SDN) about this question, but i don't find anything for help me.
Thank to all people will give me some information!
    Fabio

    Hello Jane
Redistribute workload transaction is available for only Purchase manager. it is not available for stratergic purchaser .
Here all shopping carts will be avaialble which needs to be sourced and awaiting for purchasers action.
you can do with help of basis under stratergic purchaser menu, you can bring redistribution workload .
Do you want to keep the redistribute the workload inside the cockpit like besides crate Po tab?
Transaction BBPWLRA01is used to redistribute workload for Shopping cart, Purchase order, Bid invitation and contract
but your sourcing transaction , the carts available only for which responsible for startergic buyer which needs to be sourced.
BBP_PGRP_ASSIGN_BADI helps you to control distribution logics.

  • Multi-Instrument + Multi-Thread problem found

Right.....I have done a lot of research on why logic was not multi-threading correctly and have narrowed it down to one problem...using Kontakt as a multi instrument.
My Mac is a 2 x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon. This means that it is capable of distributing work loads over the multiple cores of the CPU to prevent core audio overloads from happening.
If I run any plug ins in stereo or mono mode, the CPU acts as it should; I will load up a program, add processing and when the load is becoming a strain for the CPU, I use a bus send and work on that, then the workload is redistributed across more of the cores by logic, allowing me to continue working.
However, I need to use Kontakt as a multi instrument. I usually have 3 instances of Kontakt open and on each one of these, I usually have a minimum of 10 outputs being sent to the aux channels of logic. Therefore using Kontakt as a stereo instrument is not an option, as I would have to open around 30 instances!
Here is the problem; say for example, in Kontakt I send a kick drum out of Kontakt into AUX 3 + 4. The AUX channel in logic will being to show output. I can now EQ this single kick drum seperate from any other sound in logic.
If I began to add processor heavy plug ins to this AUX output, rather than share the workload across the cores as it should and does with stereo instruments, logic now only uses a single core and it will core audio overload very quickly.
As I said, this only happens when I set up Kontakt as a multi instrument. The main problem is when I begin to have many different outputs from my 3 instances of Kontakt, as by this stage, many different sounds will have processing. All 3 multi instruments and their processing are then controlled by the single processor and the other 7 are almost inactive! It therefore becomes impossible to use Kontakt and I have to switch to stereo instances. This happens for all multi-instruments not just Kontakt.
I have just purchased Kontakt 4, I am upgrading to OSX 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and am updating Logic to v9.1. (From v9.0) Will this help at all? Is there an answer to this problem or will I just have to open 30 stereo and mono instances of Kontakt to continue working!
I have included a link to a ZIP file with two photos of the problem. In the photo named MASSIVE. I have one instance of massive running as a stereo instrument. It is sent to a BUS where I applied the WAVES L316 Limiter. I did this multiple times and if you can see on the system performance (Top right) Logic is sharing the workload over the processors as it should.
In the second picture named KONTAKT MULTI - I have done the same thing, but I have opened Kontakt as a multi instrument, sent a kick drum to AUX 2 and then forwarded this to a send where I applied the same WAVES L316. You can see on the system performance meter (Top Right) that Logic now does not re-distribute the workload, it is using one core and anymore plug ins applied to the AUX or bus channels relating to Kontakt will now make it core audio over load, even though now I am using far less processing.
    PHOTOS: http://www.sendspace.com/file/og8a94

    Ditto
Using Pro 8 Studio, I had this problem after installing Snow Leopard.
Invested £159 in Pro 9 update, same problem.
This has stopped most of my work since my external WK4 sounds are superior to the included software sounds.
As suggested, will now report since since it obviously seems to be a general problem.

  • CPU limitation for a userer

    hi
    how do i limit/assign a CPU / core to a user?
My current Server is running with 2.47 load i want to limit zimbra user on it to increase Zimbra performance.how do we do?
    Regards

An application will not benefit from multiple CPUs unless it was designed to do so. A single process can only run on one CPU. You can use the taskset command to set CPU affinity when starting a program. From an administration standpoint I think this practice is nonsense.
If you need to limit the number of CPUs to comply with licensing you can edit /etc/grub.conf and add an appropriate kernel prameter, e.g. maxcpus=2.
I'm not aware that there is an option to partition your CPU or set CPU affinity per user. Perhaps machine virtualization might be work-around.
The following might be interesting: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/linux/library/l-scheduler/
To maintain a balanced workload across CPUs, work can be redistributed, taking work from an overloaded CPU and giving it to an underloaded one. The Linux 2.6 scheduler provides this functionality by using load balancing. Every 200ms, a processor checks to see whether the CPU loads are unbalanced; if they are, the processor performs a cross-CPU balancing of tasks.
A negative aspect of this process is that the new CPU's cache is cold for a migrated task (needing to pull its data into the cache).

  • Changing the Purchasing grp in SOCO

    Hi All,
we are on SRM 5.O ECS
We have plan driven procurement, PS based reqs flow in to SRM for further procurement process. As per standard criteria , for a certain matgrp, purgrp, external requirements flow in to SRM. At this time, we have asterik maintained for extended attributes for product categories for all the purchasing grps.(1 pur grp = 1 User). But for one  user we maintained product responsibilty with the special product categories, in addition to the asterik in extended attributes. Technically, when backend reqs flow in SRM they end up in SOCO after the SC is approved. Now the problem is, user who had the responsiblity for special product categories, left the organisation. At this time other, other pur grps add it to there work area by searching. But the problem is we cannot marked it as completed, beacause user is no more with the organisation.
Is there a way, to assign this responsibilty to another active user, who there after can mark it complete whenever required.
Does maintaining the same products to a new user, in product responsibility, take care of the issue.
Please throw some light on this issue!!
    Krishna

Try to use the "Redistribute Workload" functionality, where you can select the documents by the purchasing org / group. And then re-assign those selected documents to the desired new purchasing org/group. After this operation, the users in the new purchasing group should be able to see the requirements in their worklist in SOCO and complete them if necessary.

  • Problems processing a large batch of data within a Weblogic 5.1 cluster

I have about exhausted my sources of information on this, so I ask the
              experts:
The project I am involved with is attempting to build a scheduled
process on a 5.1 cluster which will retrieve hundreds to thousands of
database rows from a small group of Oracle tables and then submit them
into a legacy system for processing. The problems we face are:
              1. We cannot have duplicate data submitted from startup classes on
              different servers in the cluster
              2. We need the process to run if even only one machine in the cluster is
available and therefore do not want to tie the process to a single
              machine
              3. We would prefer to distribute the workload across all servers
currently available in the cluster, but this is not mandatory.
One solution is to retrieve each record as an Entity bean, attempting to
update it to "in process" and rejecting any failures thus utilizing
database locking, but due to the large number of records being processed
this is much too resource intensive as well as time consuming.
We have looked into JMS based solutions, but it appears that JMS under
5.1 is tied to a specific server (failing case 2).
One acceptable approach that we have yet to find a way of implementing
is to have a "singleton" session bean, only one of which exists on the
cluster (though it may exist anywhere on the cluster). I have run
across a number of other applications for just this sort of EJB, but is
              it possible to implement?
Sadly, Weblogic 6.0 cannot be part of the solution as our company will
not be adopting it until well after this project's delivery date.
              Are we missing something obvious?
              Many thanks!
              -Steve

You have to have all the servers in the cluster polling for work out of the
database. Use the database as a scheduling / routing mechanism. Use timers
on each server in the cluster to kick off a "find me one thing to do"
process every n minutes or seconds.

  • The default value of purchasing group in "carry out Sourcing "

    Dear , expert :
         I work in SRM7.0 ,ECS!
I have two questions about the screen of    "carry out Sourcing ":
1,How can set the default value of purchasing group ?Now the default is empty .
2.The purchaser can select many purchaser group here ,I want to know what controls this .in the group responsibility ?
    Thanks!

    Hi Alex
If there are more purchase group responsible for one product category. the end user (requestor) can select which purchase group before he order a cart.
so that sc goes to respective purchaser cockpit  in the sc ?
if you have only one purchase group responsible . no probem
    or
    redistribute workload
you can distribute your cart to another purchaser
for eg. initailly ALEX is purchase group in the sc.
now you can transfer MASA purchase group  via redistribution workload
so now the sc shows in the MASA cockpit with new purchase group as MASA instead of ALEX purchase group name
