Redownload purchased music?

Hey all,
I purchased an album a few months ago and ive formated twice dureing thsi period and now I wish to retrieve my purchased music, when I go to the album I have already bought, it just says "Buy Album"
How do I go about re-downloading already purchased music?

I agree, I bought the second season of Lost on itunes. A week later I get this nasty virus, had to reformat and lost it all. So now, when I try and redownload the stuff that I purchased already, it won't let me.
You can point at a rule book all you want, but that's not right. I bought that stuff and now, even though itunes knows I did, they won't allow me to redownload it.
It would occur to me if I were a part of this organization and industry that is plagued with illegal downloads, that I'd take every reasonable measure to provide some basic customer conveinces. This isn't a physical product like I'd buy from a store, and for that reason a physical copy is not implied.
If you're concerned about abuse of the program, at least allow for some reasonable measures to keep customers happy, such as allowing one additional download.
If your concerned about one account on multiple computers, just create a guid, similar to those in all video games played online. It will give that computer a unique fingerprint.
either way, my complaint won't change this bad policy, but I won't spend any more money here. ggs torrent.

I am trying to redownload purchased music after a hard drive dilemma.  When I click on the 'purchased' category in the iTunes store I get an error message.  Any insight?

Does it include "unable to download "ITEM" at this time. Please try again"? I think there is an issue with redownloading your purchases using the "purchased list" option. I suggest you contact the support team for a history regrant (your purchases will be reposted to your account", which i think is a one time exception and would only include the items which are still available in the store.

  • Redownloading Purchased Music in 10.5

Okay so I had a Toshiba Laptop forever and in 2006 I purchased a lot of music off iTunes over the course of  a week or two. Then my Laptop was destroyed and the Hard Drive damaged permanently so now I have a new Toshiba, but of course iTunes back in the day wouldn't let you redownload your old purchases. I tried to redownload today making sure my current computer was the only one Authorised, but but I don't see an option to redownload. What shall I do?

  • Redownloading purchased music

I bought a bunch of music on my old iphone but it crashed (the phone is dead) before I had a chance to sync them to my hard drive.  Is there a way to redownload those songs from itunes without having to pay for them again?

"@roaminggnome:  but I purchased these songs before I signed up for icloud.  I don;t think they are on the cloud.  Am I correct?"
You are not correct.  You do not "Sign up" for icloud.  it is included in the U.S. version of the latest itunes software.
Open itunes.  Go to itunes store, click "Purchased" under "Quick Links".

  • Cannot redownload purchased music

I have a purchased album, and I deleted it from iCloud. The task is to redownload it, but for some reason only 7 out of 14 songs are shown in the 'Purchased' section of iTunes Store, so the rest of the songs are just gone. Apple refuses to give me direct support in my country, so I'm screwed unless someone has a good advice. I know it's not a lot of money to buy the same album again, but it's not fair. Maybe someone had a similar problem and has a sloution? Or maybe someone knows how to get support directly from Apple in Russia?

  • Do I have to "enable" icloud on PC to get already purchased music on ipad?

Does anyone know if I can just login to itunes from my ipad from the same itunes/apple id that I used on my pc....and download already purchased music from my account? OR do I have to install the icloud control panel on my PC first to "enable" icloud..... THEN I get the already purchased music on my ipad?

No, the iCloud control panel does not need to be installed on your PC to redownload purchased music, apps etc. You will need at least iOS 4.3.3 or later on your device to redownload your purchases directly to your iPad.

  • Redownloading all music purchased from music store

Boy do I need help. i have just done a system recovery on my PC. (Thanks to a spyware program I had to get rid of.) As a result I've lost all my files including itunes music. Can I get it back? How do I reach someone at ITunes who can help? Musics puchased over last 2 yrs. & I've even lost password & original name used. Some music is on CD but not all. Would sure appreciate some advice here. Thanks Margaret1934

I just went to check if the "Check for Purchased Music" under the "Store" tab would work but after checking it notified me that "Purchased music can only be downloaded once" so it appears that there's nothing that can be done about redownloading a purchased song that was deleted...

  • I'm unable to redownload my purchased music

I'm unable to redownload my purchased music.  Purchased music in the store shows downloaded not the cloud and it's not on my machine.  I accidentally trashed it and emptied the trash.  I use OSX Lion

If you deleted the files from the Finder, and not from in iTunes then you need to also delete the tracks from iTunes. After doing so the tracks in the purchase history will be downloadable.

  • New iPod will not redownload already purchased music

I have had to get a new iPod due to accidental damage on my last one.  The new one has successfully downloaded all my apps, but music is not downloading.  I can see all the previously purchased music on my iPod via purchased section on iTunes, i press the cloud/download button but my iPod is displaying 'unable to download at this time'.   I get the option to press done or retry, but neither of these do anything.  What causes this problem?  What else can try to get it all my music to download?

That message would indicate an Apple problem. I would just wait.

  • My newly purchased music is not showing up in my library-this is new and how do I get from purchased folder into library.  Thought it was supposed to happen automatically

I bought some new music in iTunes and now my purchases are showing up in the purcahsed folder but will not transfer into my library- I want to get the music onto my nano.  It is in my music files- I see it in the purchaed folder but only 1 of the 16 songs made it into my actual library.  Bugged!

Ha! Just figured it out myself!
Under iTunes Store > Quick Links > Account, there is a setting "iTunes in the Cloud" which allowed me to "Unhide any hidden, redownloadable purchases." I clicked on "Manage" and VOILA! Problem solved.
Thanks, everyone! You were a huge help! :-)

  • How do I redownload itunes music files deleted from my harddrive?

My hard drive was damaged and  now I've lost at least half of my purchased music.  DO NOT LINK ME TO THE SUPPORT PAGE HERE ON APPLE!!!!! That method does not work  for songs that are pre-iCloud and don't try to tell me otherwise! these songs are not on any of my devices, I have a new iphone and that it is (my old one was damaged beyond repair, lost a lot of files on that too). I have records of purchasing all of these items  on the itunes store yet I cannot find the option to re-download them. When I look them up in purchased,  it gives me the option  to play them then  just asks me to locate the file, which  I  cannot as  it is not on my  new hard drive. I am very, very angry with apple for not giving me this option as I've  given them hundreds of dollars,  those songs belong to me now and I have every intention  of  getting them back. I would appreciate some  help doing so  if you would be so kind. Thank you.

Does it show in the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage ? If the track is no longer in the Music part of your library then it should show there with a cloud icon against it for redownloading. Or you can go into Edit > Preferences in iTunes, and on the Store tab there should be a 'shows iTunes in the cloud purchases' tick box, ticking that should get music to show in the Music part of your library with a cloud icon against it which you can click on to redownload it (again the 'locate file' entries will need to be deleted for them to show).
Store preferences tab (there is a bug on this forum affecting images so it might not show) :
If the tracks still don't show with the cloud icon then try closing/re-opening iTunes.
If you've taken a backup of your iTunes library then only you will need know what you did with it. Do you have any external drives that you might have copied your library onto ? A backup of an iOS device does not include the contents of its Music app.

  • Purchased music won't play on ipod 5g 60gb - need help!

    hello everyone,
i've been looking for help all over the internet for hours and hours, and i have yet to find an answer. i wrote the whole sequence of events down so everyone will know which troubleshooting steps i have already gone through.
i have an ipod video, 5g, 60gb that i got in december. it's been great, up until i needed to upgrade my operating system to windows xp pro (from xp home edition). i backed up everything onto dvds, proceeded to install the new os (even gave my music it's own partition, now it feels all special and lovely and whatnot ), and reloaded itunes, got my music back on like before. then, i proceeded to install my ipod software, got the latest updates (version 1.1.1 for ipod video), and this is where i ran into problems.
prior to using itunes to install my music, i noticed a few glitches with version 1.1.1 of the ipod updater. some of my music files would show the correct artwork when normally playing the music, but if i cycled through to the larger picture of the album artwork, almost every item on my ipod showed a picture of a podcast i am subscribed to. seeing i've spent hours putting in correct artwork for thousands of songs, this irked me.
after getting all my music straight on my computer and made any changes i needed to make, i hooked my ipod up and updated with itunes. due to the new installation of windows, it had to wipe everything, and then redownload everything to my ipod.
i then noticed that not only my artwork was still screwy, but my purchased music didn't play any longer either. all of the purchased songs and videos skip through after about a couple seconds, but i did notice it did increase my play counts upon further updates. the songs play fine on my computer, no issues. and i have tried the deauthorize/reauthorize process as well, with no success.
after researching this issue a bit, i decided to follow the 5 r's. even the "restore" r, and then reloaded everything back on my ipod. now, my artwork is back like normal, which i am happy about. however, purchased music still has the same behavior. even gave the deauthorize/reauthorize process another whirl. while i could easily burn those songs to a cd and then rip them to mp3 to make them play, this still wouldn't fix my purchased video issues, leaving me right back at square one.
oh, and i also downloaded the free song of the week to see if downloading something new would help it out. nope.
i also downloaded anapod explorer to see if that would give any light onto the situation. it shows the purchased files are on my ipod, but when i disconnect from the program, it tells me "you must download a file from iTMS in order to play protected music," a step which i had already done with the free song of the week.
i'm just wondering if i should try downgrading my ipod firmware, if anyone has had the same problems, or if anyone could offer any helpful advice? i would greatly appreciate it!

"oh, and i also downloaded the free song of the week to see if downloading something new would help it out. nope."
Into a new user account with a separate iTunes library? That's the idea.
    1. Deauthorize the computer.
    2. Create a new user in the system.
    3. Download the free song of the week from the iTMS in the new user account.
    4. Play the song in that user account to authorize again.
    5. Restore the iPod (using the iPod updater) in the new user account.
    6. Sync just the free song of the week and see if it plays on the iPod.
If it does, you appear to have a corrupted iTunes library file, and you should recreate the iTunes library file in your normal user account, and then sync your music back to the iPod and all should be well.

  • My purchased music on apple tv won't sync with iTunes on my macbook pro

I purchased music through my Apple TV and for the life of me I cannot figure out how to sync/redownload the music to my iTunes on my MacBook Pro! Is there any way around signing up for iTunes Match? Or is that the only way? I've read on another discussion that if I try to delete my music on Apple TV and then redownload it on my MacBook it might register that I've already purchased it and hopefully not charge me twice, BUT now I cant figure out how to delete music from my Apple TV! Im usually very "tech-savvy" but am having a rough time thus far, someone help!

Quick links is still there, top right corner of home page in iTunes store (use your Macbook Pro).
Check for available downloads is not the same thing. Syncing an iPhone will only transfer content that is already downloaded. If you have not setup automatic downloads you will need to download from your purchase history.
