Redownloading TV Shows

I'm trying to redownload a TV show that I purchased a while back, but it's still counted as being in my library even though the files for the episodes are not on my computer anymore. I'm thinking that the reason this is happening is because the folder for the series as a whole is still on my computer, but I don't wanna take any chances and delete that without knowing first.

Do you still have the TV programme listed in the TV Shows section of your iTunes library ? If you do, then even if you no longer have the actual files on your computer iTunes will be seeing the entry listed in your library and assuming that you still have it somewhere - if you delete it from TV Shows it might then show in the Purchased link for redownloading (if it's still in the store and you haven't moved countries since buying it).
If not already doing so you should be keeping and maintaining your own backup copy of your downloads/library, the rights-holders could remove any item from the store at any time.

  • Would Apple let me Redownload these shows?

So last night I plugged my iPod into my computer and iTunes wanted me to authorize my computer, so I put in my user name and password but it said it was not correct and I told it to let me reset the password, but after I did it still told me it was not correct. So I told it not to authorize(and I was going to do that later) and it deleted all of my iTunes purchases.
I had no back up of my purchases . So is there anyway I can call Apple and ask if they would let me Redownload the shows? And would they even grant that request?
I'm just missing one TV Show.

    Rs489,
As Zevoneer has said, Apple's download policy is clear.
But just to be clear on something, are you sure the file was actually deleted from your computer as opposed to just being deleted from your iPod? I would expect that failing to authorize your computer would result in the latter situation but not the former.
In which case it might be worthwhile to have a look at this article in the Apple Knowledge Base and search your hard drive for any sign of the missing television show.

  • Snow Leopard / Mail -- mail keeps getting redownloaded and shows as new mai

    Hi.
Anyone had this problem? After I upgraded (?) to Snow Leopard, Mail.app now redownloads my mail from multiple IMAP and POP accounts and shows it as new.
This happens at times I cannot predict. I don't see a pattern to when this happens. I can't predict when it will happen.
So at seemingly random times, Mail suddenly shows that I have 400 unread e-mails. Even though these are e-mails I've already dealt with.
    Anyone see this before?
    Anyone have a solution?
    Thanks in advance.
    Amy

  • One of my apps disappeared as an icon! When I double tapped my home button it showed up at the bottom of the page. When I held my finger the red edit button appeared on app and I hit it! App is gone. Can't redownload as shows installed. Help!

One of my apps has disappeared from my screen! I tried double tapping home button and the app showed up in the icon bar. I tapped and held the app and the red edit box appeared in left corner of app. I then hit the red button and the app went away. I tried to redownload but the app store shows as a purchased and installed app. Not sure how to recapture the app. Help

You did't delete it. It's still there. You just deleted it from your history (a handy thing, 'cause it drains battery with what you would call RAM-usage). Swipe from screen to screen to find it. The only thing you might have lost, is any unsaved data in it (depending on tha kind of app it was e.g. Pages). It is the equivalent of quitting the application on a computer.

  • Why is iTunes redownloading TV shows without asking.

    Hello,
I had the problem since two months ago. I was using my iMac, with iTunes opened in the background, when I realized that iTunes eventually started to redownload EVERY TV Show I bought in the iTunes Store previously, at 1080p, it means A LOT of data. I was able to stop it midway, but because of that I ended up paying a penalty fee because I downloaded over my internet usage data cap with my Internet Provider (a thing that never happened to me).
    I was very ******.
I tried unboxing every checkbox in iTunes options that were related to downloading automatically stuff from the App Store. Even when I did that, it always seemed to restart the whole process as soon as I did something related to the iTunes store (like buying an App).
Anyway, I decided ultimately that maybe something was wrong with my iTunes library, so basically I moved it, restarted with a new and empty iTunes library and moved in all my media files manually from the import menu.
That was a month ago and everything worked well after that. However, today it started happening again. I bought an app from the app store and noticed that it started redownloading every episodes from the iTunes store.
Anyone have an Idea what can be the cause of this ?
It's only TV Shows. Never had problems with music or apps. (anyway I understand that Apps must download updates)
(and yes, i'm on the latest version of iTunes and updated version of OS X Mountain Lion.)

    Hi,
What I mean is that iTunes continues to say "N iTunes downloads available" which it occasionally tries to complete, and I keep hitting 'delete' because I already have the files on my computer's drive, which I assume got there from an AppleTV sync.
Is there any way to prevent this extra download?
    Thanks!

  • Can not redownload keynote- shows installed

I used CleanMyMac2 to delete and attempt to reinstall Keynote after it was giving me weird crashing problems.  When I went to the App Store/Purchases list it showed it was still installed.  So, I deleted the com.apple.storefront and app  plists files.  Still no go. Still shows as installed.
How can I redownload  and  install it. I am at a loss what to do next.
    Thanks,
    Todd

    Thanks Dah-veed.
I ran Applejack and it solved whatever the issue was.  Hail the mighty AppleJack- saves my bacon once again.

  • TS1424 redownload tv show with audio problem

I recently downloaded the latest tv show episode in the itunes store, but there is no audio to go with the video. Is there a way to download the video again?

    Contact iTunes Store support:-
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/browser/
State the Category as "Downloading" and the Sub-Category as "I continually receive an error message..."
Then explain the issue to them and make sure you state the error code.

  • Why do i have to redownload tv shows over and over again to be sususful

i have been down loading battlestar galatica episodes from itunes and they get to processing file then start downloading over ?

I am having the same problem. I have episodes that have "downloaded" dozens of times without ever being viewable. I have done MSCONFIG, checked diagnostics, turned off all firewalls and filters; added iTunes, Apple, and all the phobos.apple.com addresses to my approved sites, deleted the file out of my cache and retrieved the episode fresh from my purchased list, and religiously updated my DirectX version. Nothing works, and it has been this way ever since iTunes 7 came out. I had no problems previously. Plus it is now taking around 30 hours to download a 490MB file. Then it starts over! Anyone have a suggestion?

  • Last year I purchased numerous tv shows and could always redownload them from the "Cloud". Now I can't find them. Where are they?

How can I redownload tv shows I bought on Itunes?

They should have downloaded into the Videos app (iTunes on the iPad is just the iTunes store) :
If they aren't in there then have you got a film age rating set in Settings > General > Restrictions that is hiding them ?

  • HT201272 I have previously purchase items that i bought from my iphone and they come up as purchased on itunes, but its not in my library ive connected my phone and its just not showing up or able to download from itunes?

Cant download previous purchases on my account. Bought them via my iphone, but when i try to sync it they dont come up and when i try to download them via my phone again it just doesnt work, and when i try to download them via a computer it just says purchased but they arn't in my itunes library?

What types of item that you can redownload depends upon what country that you are in (music, films and/or TV shows can't currently be re-downloaded in all). If they are still on your phone then you should be able to copy them over to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases.
What you can redownload will show under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes and the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on your phone. If other items of the same content type appear but those don't (and they are still in the store), then check to see if they are hidden : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919

  • Bought a tv show on iTunes, file could not be found

I bought a season of a tv show on iTunes on a laptop. I transferred some episodes onto my iPod and watched some on my iPod on iTunes using the internet, I reset my iPod and still can't find the tv show on iTunes on my iPod in the purchased section and I don't know why. I tried to transfer an episode from the laptop onto my iPod but it won't work because the 'original file could not be found' it asks me to locate it and I found the folder but there's nothing in it. Any ideas on how to find the show on my laptop and on the purchased section on iTunes on my iPod? I really want to watch the show but I'm not going to re-purchase it.

What country are you in (TV programmes can't be redownloaded in all countries), and is the series still in your country's store (TV companies, and other content providers, occasionally remove their items from the store) ? And you don't have copies of them on your backup of your library ?
What you can redownload will show in the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on your iPod, and under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes - if it shows in Purchased on your computer's iTunes but doesn't have the cloud symbol against it for redownloading then delete the entry for it from the TV Shows part of your library (where you are getting the unable to locate message) and you should then get the cloud symbol in Purchased. If TV Shows doesn't show as a category in Purchased then you aren't in a country where TV programmes can be redownloaded.

  • Can I retrieve a TV show that has been deleted?

    Here's the scoop:
I used to have many TV shows as a part of my iTunes library. One day, someone deleted the folder under my iTunes Music folder where the shows are stored. This was before I had begun regularly using Time Machine to back up all the files on my computer.
So, now all the titles of these TV shows appear in my Library, but when I click them, the file can obviously not be located since it has been deleted. Is there any way I could redownload these shows from iTunes? Is there any type of record that Apple keeps to see that I have downloaded these? I know they have DRM, so hopefully Apple could tell that I never passed these shows on to anyone else...
I just want to be able to watch some of these TV shows that have disappeared from my library. Any ideas?
If you're wondering, I have lost:
The Office Season 2: Christmas Party
The Office Season 3: A Benihana Christmas
The Office Season 3: Phyllis's Wedding
    Saturday Night Live: Lazy Sunday
    Scrubs Season 6: My Musical
South Park Season 1: Mr. Hankey
    24 Season 6: 1:00 P.M. - 2:00 P.M.
    24 Season 6: 2:00 P.M. - 3:00 P.M.
30 Rock Season 1: Blind Date

Use the form on this page to request a free redownload, or use the Transfer Purchases feature if applicable. If neither of these works, you will need to purchase the content again to get them back; Apple needs to pay the copyright holders for each download from the iTunes Store other than podcasts, album artwork, and iPod touch/iPhone applications.

  • Installed tv series and one show will not play

I feel like I am getting the run around...
I downloaded to my itunes and installed on my ipod the tv series Big Bang Theory season one. Out of the 17 shows one will not play. I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it several times with no sucess. I have sent itunes the problem and they allowed me to redownload that show. Still with the same problem, I have installed the new download on my ipod and it will not play. After writing to itunes with my problem they tell me I need Apple ipod support, and gave me the telephone number to call...After calling and waiting on hold for 5 minutes I am being told it is an itunes problem not an ipod problem...I then decided to install it to my husbands ipod and the one eposide will not play on his ipod either. Any idea's on how I can get this to play?

hmmm, did you get 2 versions? With some moveies you get an HD version for your TV/PC, and an SD version for the iPod. I've only gotten the free TV episodes they give away, so don't know if this is normal for TV shows.
All I can think of, is make sure it's an SD version that goes on the iPod.
edit - on 2nd thought, you obviously know what you're doing if you can get the other shows to play. I would just keep after them. If you have an email with an Apple case number, keep replying to that.
