Reduce brightness of Full Screen background

How can I do that please? It's rather too bright for me.

Hmm it would be a weird coincidence if it was with the host page or with youtube, since it happened immediately after I upgraded.
I'm using the latest version of Firefox, and I'm using the AdBlocker Add-on.
An Example page? Do you mean a link to a page where this is happening?
http://www.spikednation.com/evideo/baby-loves-beer
It seems to happen mostly on embedded videos.(Facebook is another place where it happens.)
It looks fine in normal mode but when you go to fullscreen the background turns white.
Any other info that might help?  Thanks

  • Website with Full Screen Background Images

I'm trying to create a website with full screen background images (or  possibly, a video) that will crop to the browser window. It's also  important that the image be center-justified. The Die Antwoord site does  pretty much what I'm trying to accomplish. I'd also like to know how  they can use such high resolution images. If I try to use a high res  image, the file size is enormous. Another site that uses similar  technology only with a video is the TV on the Radio site.
I  am fairly new to Flash so please forgive me if this is a rudimentary question.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Bob,
    Thanks for your reply.
What I'm concerned about is the crispness of my full-page images. Am I right in assuming with a PDF folio, static images won't be as crisp? Is there a way to maintain its sharpness?

  • Responsive Full Screen Background image - How?

    Hi,
I would be very grateful for any guidance on the CSS/HTML code that I need to use for inserting a static, 'responsive',  full screen, background image on  a website.
    Best wishes

Depending on what kind of browser support you want to include, this can be a single line of css code...
    background-size:cover;
...which takes care of all modern browsers back to IE9. Or, if you want to support older browsers (IE8 and lower), a more involved javascript would be required...

Odd... went to get cuppa coffee, came back my monitor was BRIGHT orange, full screen,, with slight vertical rib pattern, kind of like corrugated cardboard... very slight pattern... what gives.... oh, everything was frozen, no cursor no keyboard, zip. Used back off button. Turned it back on, everything normal...
Had lots of sudden closures like this lately... but usually gray, black, deep blue screen... a couple with the same vertical corrugation pattern only in two shades of pale gold, or grays... what good times we have with apple... never know what'going to be looking back at you next. But BRIGHT ORANGE? Help???

Sounds like the graphics card. Run the Hardware Test in extended. Not a great diagnostic, but should pick up something really blatant like this.

  • "Writing Video" is taking forever on an animated full screen background

29 minutes to get rid of the redline on a segment that includes an animated full screen background. I'm on FCP 6 with a 3.06ghz/4gb RAM/nvidia 8800.
I'm going to buy a new iMac for something else. Is this an argument to upgrade to the ATI card? Would it perform faster on this? What about the extra 4gb of RAM? Would that make a significant impact on this process?
    Your insights are greatly appreciated.

One way is to let FCP X do all the resolution and aspect ratio calculations.
When you create a new project, choose the "First Clip" setting and then drop one of your clips into the timeline. Sometimes people will use a graphic with a non-standard  aspect ratio as the first clip and inadvertently create a mismatch with their video.

  • How to set full screen background color in new Pages

I just updated to Mavericks and the new Pages...I often use a certain background color when I work in full screen mode, but that color is gone withe the upgrade and I don't see how to specify a color any longer...any ideas?
    Thx.

Given over 90 removed features in Pages 5, I guess they were busy "not noticing" a lot more than the background color:

the movie is set to 100% x 100% instead of fixed pixels size,
    causing the
SWF to fill any available space in browser. You can see the

  • Full Screen background trouble

    Hi,
I'm trying to publish a Captivate 4 project to EXE with the Full Screen setting on.
In the skin editor border tab, a very light grey is selected as background colour, but the customer wanted me to change this: It should now use an html file instead. The customer told me to put this in the adobe/captivate4/publish/templates folder and replace the standard.html there.
No matter what I do though (replace, not replace), I always simply get a black background. Does anybody know how to solve this? I mean, it should never be black anyway, as a grey is selected...
    Happy to try anything!
    Julia

Hi Julia and welcome to our community
EXE and HTML are sort of mutually exclusive. I'm not sure if changing anything in the Publish/Templates folder would change a thing in the EXE output.
As for why you are getting a black background, that's a bit of a mystery. You say that you have selected a light grey for the HTML background color? It's been my experience that whatever you select for the "HTML Background Color" is also used for the EXE background if you are using the full screen option and the project is smaller than the full screen.
Perhaps try choosing a really wild color like Hot Pink. Then publish and see if the background now changes from Black to Hot Pink. Sometimes you find that a radical change like that will finally work where it failed otherwise. Then again, it could be a wasted effort. But certainly won't hurt to try.
And as I was typing this, it occurred to me that perhaps you could be thinking of something different when you say "Background Color". What I'm referring to is the color that surrounds the Captivate movie if it doesn't fill the screen, NOT the background of the Captivate movie itself. Like the image below:

  • Aperture screwing with brightness in full screen mode

For some reason whenever I go into full screen mode Aperture keeps adjusting the brightness of my images. Every time I do anything it first looks "normal" then the brightness gets jacked up a few percentage points. When I turn on the Loupe, the image shown inside the loupe is darker (as it should be) as this odd "auto brightness" effect doesn't show up there. When not in full screen mode this doesn't happen. Saving the photo results in the correct image as well. So long story short this is only happening in full screen mode.
I tried disabling the "On screen proofing" but it doesn't seem to have an effect. This is driving me nuts because I have no way to see the ACTUAL image until I save it! Thanks for any ideas you may have.

Another update: I changed my external display to "default" in ColorSync Profiles as recommended in another thread, still have the same problem.
I have now noticed that this phenomenon only occurs when the image being displayed on screen has to be scaled down to fit - so apparently there is something going on with Aperture's image preview being created on the fly?

  • Full Screen Background HTML in iWeb...not working

So I've been doing some research on how to add a full screen adaptive photo in iWeb and I came across this ...
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3183484
The problem is I open an HTML snippet in my iweb page, paste the code, and nothing happens.
I realize I have to direct to where I want to pull the image from but, TBH, I'm a noob and can't figure this out.  I've tried adding the image I want to my server via TRANSMIT (how I upload my website when I'm done designing) but everything I've tried doesn't work.
I'm not sure WHERE and what code to type into the HTML code given in the above link and I'm getting really frustrated.
    the website I'm doing is
    www.dallasanddoll.com
    ANY help is appreciated....

Imagination is very important. You have to imagine that things happen.
You paste the code in a HTML Snippet and then publish the page to see the effect.
Also, you have to put the background image on the server yourself, or use one published by iWeb.
In both cases you have to determine the path to the image and use it in the code where it says '../images/beach.jpg' :
    http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3563737/Lycos/Beach.html
So, for instance, if you want to use this image (without the decoration) use :
    ../images/Dallas-And-Doll-INDEX2.jpg
    or
    /images/Dallas-And-Doll-INDEX2.jpg

  • Pinching screen to reduce and see full screen every time out of holster

    Hi,
Since I installed the latest OS update, now every time I take my phone out of its holster, the fonts are larger than usual and I have to pinch the screen to reduce it to normal size and see all the screen like before.
I have tried going into settings and setting font size to 8 and it works but as soon as the phone locks itself and I open it again it goes back to that larger zoomed in screen that I have to pinch to zoom out and back to normal.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?
    Thanks, Gilles

for some reason by default the zoom has been activated on everyones phone.

  • Full screen background video

    Hello.
I have purchased the Fullscreen background widget and have it installed in Muse cc . When you preview the page with the widget in the browser the video displays and plays no problem, but as soon as i add text in the normal way and then preview in browser the only thing that displays is the text, no video. Could somebody please advise on this?

    Hi Sanjit.
Right. The last time i tried the fullscreen background video it was on a site i was already working on. So i started a new page away from that and after a little fiddling about i got some simple text on top of the video background which is a start. Now bearing in mind i was also following the Chris Kellett video while i was doing this i also, like in the video tried to add a footer item after that and the result was the video background was pushed and squashed to the top of the browser screen. I deleted and tried the whole thing again got the video back but no text on top or footer at the bottom.
