Reduce image in flash  without dropping quality

Hi,
I’m going to import a image in to flash and reduce the
size to a half,
But it’s not looks good when I reduce the size of a
image in flash,
So I heard that there is a actionscript class for avoid it,
Someone please tell me where I can find it
Thank you

I never heard of it, but i guess you can try to reduce the
quality in a bitmap editing software like Photoshop and import it
into Flash. Also, you can check the allow smoothness check box in
the image setting

  • Importing Photoshop image into Flash without discoloration

Hello, I just put together a banner image in photoshop that I would like to import into Flash and put a small navigation menu at the bottom but whenever I use the import to stage feature I am getting a large amount of discoloration in the image.  I've tried saving it as a .tif and .png but both came out looking poor.  Attached is an image to show what I mean.  Anyone have a suggestion on this?

    >>One more thing when you created this graphic did you make sure to use web color only, rmember the web views I think only 246 colors (somenthing like that) so anything outside of gamut will go to the next best thing.<<
That isn't true at all. The web safe color palette had nothing to do with the limitation of the web and everything to do with the limitation of color monitors at the time it was proposed. At the time the color palette was proposed many displays could only display a maximum of 256 colors on screen simultaneously. The operating systems reserved about 20 colors each for their own use and that left 216 available color slots. Anything about that number that tried to display on screen at the same time would caouse color banding (what gifs images do to photos).
But that was along time ago.

  • How to import images into keynote without losing quality?

Whenever I import (either by dragging or through keynote import) high resolution images (either jpg or png) at high resolution (say 1920x1280) into any keynote presentation (1280x1024) it somehow automatically gets compressed into a really ugly lowres image. This, in my case, makes it impossible to present designs properly. Is this a setting or am I importing them wrong?

I think this is your answer.
Images in JPEG format remain JPEG images; other formats are converted to TIFF. After an image has been downsampled, you can’t restore it to its original size by clicking Original Size in the Metrics inspector. To avoid downsampling and use images at their original size, turn off automatic downsampling inKeynote preferences.

  • How can I get an InDesign vector images into Flash without redrawing

I've created a logo in InDesign and trying to get it into
    Flash to create a symbol?
    Thank you,
    Suzy

Oops, EPS can't be opened directly in Flash. You can open the
EPS in Illustrator and save as .ai and open that in Flash.
In Flash, use File > Import > Import to Stage. If
Import to Stage is faded out, just make sure you select a layer
    that isn't locked.

  • Reducing image size without reducing quality

    Hello all.
I'm trying to learn if there is a way to reduce the size of an image in Pages without reducing the quality.  It seems that when I use the built-in command from the file menu or by control-clicking on an image, the images go soft after the reduction.  There has to be a way to keep the photos sharp without having them take up so much space.  Any tips out there?

Best is to take the original images into Preview and:
1 Crop them to the view in Pages
    2. Decide what resolution you want for the final size in Pages:
    300dpi for good quality printing
150 dpi for good quality screen appearance
72 dpi for bare minimum screen appearance
    3. If they are color photo like images, save them as .jpeg with as much quality loss as you you can tolerate
    4. If they are flat areas of color or black and white save them as compressed .tiffs
After cropping and compression bring them back into Pages and use no compression there at all.

  • How can I save a Flash or .swf file in AVI format without losing quality?

How can I save a Flash or .swf file in AVI (or another video) format without losing quality?

As long as you don't have code in your animation then just hit File->Export->Export Movie, then configure the options.
Here's an article on exporting sound, images and video. Just skip on down to exporting AVI and it explains the process. The codec is in the Video Compression section. When you click Settings for Video Compression, the codec is in the drop-down at the top. There's various kinds but to get lossless quality AVI you'll have to choose Uncompressed / None for full quality. Again, the file will be huge and you'll need to use another program (like Adobe Media Encoder) or Microsoft Windows Media Encoder, etc, depending on what format you intend to compress it ultimately.

  • How to proper resize images and videos at runtime without losing quality?

Hi guys. I need a bit of help here.
I've built a flash site in which i want to resize a movie to the stage. I do it by keeping the proportion, thus i only resize the width and then i resize the height acordingly to the new width but keeping the proportion.
The problem is that my film still looks "pixeled".
I found a website on which the stage resizes dinamically with the movie and the background images without either of them losing quality. Till now i knew that resizing images or videos in flash at authoring or runtime produces pixeled results.
This is the website: http://kampanjeweb.apt.no/jotun/romforrom/. Can someone tell me how do they do it without losing quality? just make the browser windowed and resize the margins to see the effect.
    Thanks.

    Hello, Venian.
About the video, you could try setting the flash.media.Video's smoothing property to TRUE. This should keep a quality, but you can do nothing if the video has a poor quality. You need a great video.
About the images, you you need to redraw the image each time you resize it. To achieve it, use a combination of Bitmap, BitmapData and Matrix classes. Any doubt, just call again. Here is a simple example:
    var scale:Number = .5;
    var highQualitySourceImage:Bitmap = ...your image...;
    var scaleMatrix:Matrix = new Matrix();
         scaleMatrix.scale(scale, scale);
    var bitmapData:BitmapData = new BitmapData( scale*highQualitySourceImage.width, scale*highQualitySourceImage.height);
         bitmapData.draw(highQualitySourceImage, scaleMatrix);
    var finalBitmap:Bitmap = new Bitmap(bitmapData);
    addChild( finalBitmap );
    Cheers,

  • How can I reduce a large podcast video without losing quality?

I am in the process of putting online a podcast video, that I have exported for ipod with quicktime. However, the file is rather large (100MB) and it is complicate for me to break it into smaller files. As I start iWeb it warns me that the file is large and it would require long download times. I was wondering if there was a way to reduce the size of podcast/ipod files without compromising quality too much.
    Thank you very much!

  • How to resize large images without losing quality

Hello I have an image that I am trying to use as an email. Right now it is 2108 pixels. And for an email it should be 600 px. I created this image in illustrator as vectors and type.
Whenever I go into image size and i change it to be 600 pixels it gets extremely blurry. I have also tried converting this to a smart object... doesnt work. How do I resize my large image to be smaller without losing quality???

here is an example sceenshot of the opening dialog (.ai opened directly in Photoshop)
your illustrator vector should be rastered sharp at 100% actual Pixels in Photoshop
that is where you want to evaluate sharpness in Photoshop...
then File> Save for Web & Devices (and drag that saved file icon into an open web browser)
still no joy, embed your saved image here using the forum's camera icon...

  • How to decrease PDF file size without losing quality of images and vector lines?

I have several ai files that I saved as PDFs. Now I'm having problem with the size of this combine files. Can some one assist me with the proper way on decreasing file size without losing quality.
    Thank you.

I am having the same problem with a different file that's in a different format mentioned above. I'm trying to convert a ".srf" file and turn it into a ".pdf." I was successful doing this but my image, once in a .pdf was also pixilated.
I thought if I convert my ".srf" file to a ".jpeg" first, then bring this newly created ".jpeg" into a ".pdf," I would have more luck. But unfortunately the free download I got on my computer that's supposed to convert any file to any file, CANNOT convert ".srf" files to ANYTHING!
Does anyone have any ideas? Or any specific programs I should get?
    Thanks!

  • Enlarging an image on mouseover without using Flash

Enlarging an image on mouseover without using Flash
I use DW MX 2004 with Windows 2000
I want to create the following effect. I have two versions of
    an image,
geyso_scr... (which is screen size) and geyso_sm (which is
    small). On
mouse-over I want a larger window to open on top of my html
    page (but
less than the full screen) and show the larger image file in
    whatever
    size I have created it.
One mouse-off I want to restore the original image.
I tried this with a straight image swap on the following
    page:
    http://www.tudo.co.uk/testing/hospiz_stiftung/shell/contents/vorstand/vorstand.html
see row 2, image 1, Peter von Geyso.
This works all right (on mouseover there is a shift of about
    1 px) but
the screen sized image has been sized down to the original
    image (sm image).
How can I conveniently get the large image hovering on top of
    the
    existing page?
Can someone recommend a tutorial which describes how this is
    done?
Or is there a utility which does it?
On similar lines, a client wants to display a list of items
    as text in
comparatively small font. On mouse-over he wants the
    list-item in
question to become slightly larger (not only to change colour
    etc). Can
that be done without converting the text into images.
Is there any tutorial for that?
(No point in arguing with the client that the text should be
    made large
enough to read in the first place. I have tried that in
    vain.)
    Thanks for your help.

  • Reducing image file size for web use without pixelation

Can anyone help me figure out how to best reduce images for fast web loading (in slideshows in Muse). I have done the save for web in PS and they are super pixelated now. The only versions that do not lose quality are the original size and they are huge files. Any help is appreciated.
Also can anyone tell me how big each image should be, what is considered a too big size (kb) for web images? Thanks Hillary

The settings I used were in the save for web panel and I saved the image as "medium" and the quality was 30, optimized was checked and it was scaled down to 16kb instead of 700kb. Is there a guideline as to how large in kb an image should be for good loading, it seems like with faster internet speeds we can go a bit larger for asset size. Is it OK to have an image as 65 kb if it is quite large (8 inched wide)?
I think I solved the problem. I just went in and saved the images as larger quality. I hope it does not slow things down too much. Any advice would help.

  • Resize A Image Without Losing Quality

I have been reading about how to best resize image in PS CS4/CS5.  I've read that you should increase the size of a image in increments and I’ve also read that you should resize using the bicubic smoother setting in PS.
The image that I would like to resize is 5W x 7H and resolution of 150. I would like to print this image at 30W x 40H on a HP Designjet 5500ps.
Any recommendation on how I should go about resizing the image without losing quality?

No matter which method you used, scaling up a photo 5 times is going to look very good.
There are some software that purports to scale up an image without blurry edges. Not sure how well they work.
If you can obtain the original image and rescan it at a higher resolution that would work better.
Or, if the photo can be easily recreated as a vector drawing, then do that with illustrator and print it out large.
Or if you or someone you know is a great artist, then scale up the photo in photoshop (which would become blurry), then hand correct the edges to make them sharp. This requires drawing ability.

  • Reduced Image Quality

So... I've perused through looking for help on this, and it seems like many people have had this problem, but I'm not sharing in their successes.
I have an image (a group photo) that I'd like to include in a sequence (DV NTSC), and when I view it in the browser it looks stellar, but when I edit it into the timeline it looks pixelated and blurred.
I know that you're not supposed to judge image quality by looking at it in the canvas, but shouldn't an EXPORTED DV sequence look better? It doesn't.
Rendering the image doesn't help (any rendering should occur when the whole sequence is exported anyway); it clearly has something to do with the inherent reduction of quality when the high-res image is edited into my DV sequence. I've tried editing the image to an uncompressed sequence as a test with no luck.
I have some titles whose quality is also degraded when they are edited into the sequences (and exported).
I'd love some help with this.

DV degrades the photo. If you have a 3000x2500 image at 600dpi, you drop it into a FCP DV sequence it becomes 720x240 at 72dpi, and adopts the DV 5:1 compression.
Nothing you can do to avoid this...except for when you lock picture then take your DV sequence, drop it into a DV50 or uncompressed 8-bit timeline and render. Your picture will look much better.
But that only works if you are making a DVD. If you go back to DV tape then there is nothing you can do.

  • Does reducing image size reduce image quality?

i 'm new to AI and also to this forum.
I know that enlarging and image can reduce image quality.
I'd like to know if reducing the image size (not in pixels, but in actual size),
    will reduce the quality?
i have a Ai file that's 600x300, and need to reduce it to 300x120 my websie.
Before I convert it to a web format, I want to reduce this large Ai file to 300x120.
Will i still lose quality even if it's still an Ai file, before converting to web format???
    thanks!!!!!

No it is however best to use save for the web to do so for the best optimization.
keep in mind the only lose in quality will be if some one grabbed it off of the website and tried to enlarge it or view it at a larger display size.
What you want to do is the best way of reducing the size.
