Reduce latency from 6 sec to 4 sec

Hello,
I have developed a video transmission and viewing application . I am facing a problem of one way video latency of about 6 seconds.
Adobe says that the latency can be reduced to about 3 seconds one way. I have set up the buffertime for transmitter about 3 seconds.
Please can anyone suggest me how to reduce the latency from 6 seconds to about 3 seconds ??

I have no issues regarding the bandwidth , but can anyone suggest the proper optimization technique for CPU and memory usage .
What should be the ideal configuration for minimum latency.
Currently my audio and video transmission one way is 6 sec and hence 2 way for both is 12 -14 sec.
Kindly guide me how to resolve the problem.

followed your instructions and as soon as I tick "multiplexed Mpeg-1/layer 2 audio" the m2v extension changes to mts. This won't play in Quicktime even if i change the extension to mpg, m2v or whatever. I'm assuming i need a quicktime plugin to fix this.

Getting 100-200ms latency from data rec'd to program action. Any ideas?

We are trying to isolate an apparent 100-200ms latency from data xmitted to NI485/4 and program response. Using win2k with virtually no CPU being used. Code appears to be well written and has system priority. We have Intel D845GBV2 board and have three PCI cards, NI485/4, Data xlation 3153, and I/O card.
I suspect PCI problems. The NI 485/4 works fine except for latency and installation shows no problems except for memory address conflict between each of the four ports, however I suspect this is not a problem as all four ports are on the same card.
Any suggestions?

Thanks for the fast reply. I reloaded the driver (but did not physically remove card as of yet; system is installed in cabinet and not easily accessed). System shows card working properly under "Device Manager"; no exclamation points or other symbols show up on the ports. However, when I right-click and check properties| resources tab for any one of the used ports (three in my case)it shows the memory address as also being used by the other two active ports. I appear to be unable to change the memory I/O at this screen as settings are grayed out.
If you can confirm this is not a good situation, I will investigate further. Thanks again

I am getting serious latency from my Zoom R16 interface since os 10.6.8 update, nothing else has changed, just the update. I've installed the supplimental update. No change. I've contacted Zoom, they believe it to be an Apple issue. From my naive perspective, I do, too.

Macbook pro startup time increased suddenly from 15 sec to 25 sec. How can we resolve this?

Upgraded to 10.6.8 combo and still KCG errors exist.
Also i can now see new error after upgrade as below:

Substitution Variable Issue while exporting from Essbase.sec file

Hello All,
I have an unusually distinct problem.
I have 2 environments (Development and Production) where each environment has a seperate server with Essbase installed in it.
When I tried to get information of the Substitution variables using the 'export security_file to data_file' command through MaxL and then checked the output file in Development, it showed me the right number of substitution variables and their values.
But when I did he same with my Production environment it gives exactly 1 less no of substitution variables in the export file, specifically the last substitution variable that was updated through the Essbase Administration Console.
I guess it is not updating the Essbase.sec file with the last updated Substitution variable. But I can't understand why since the same functionality works in development but not in production.

In addition, I exported the Essbase.sec file after a long time after changing the Substitution variable and now it does show the updated substitution variable.
I feel that Essbase does refresh the Essbase.sec file but after a long time. Is there some setting within Essbase that is done which refreshes the artifact files after a while. Or is this a setting within the system in which Essbase has been installed (in my case Linux).
Also the Substitution Variable that has been created is for (all apps) and (all dbs). Is this the reason why this is not working because I tried changing some other Substitution variable which is for a specific app and a specific dbs and it worked fine.

How can I change default build time from 1 sec to .5 sec?

Whenever I create a build, the default time is 1 sec. I'd like it to be .5 sec. I use a blank master slide. How can I change the default build time for all slides? Or can I?

I'm sorry, but Apple does not provide a downgrade path for iOS. Because downgrading is unsupported by Apple we cannot discuss it on these forums, but you can use Google to find information on how to install an older version of iOS on any iDevice.

How to reduce latency of accessing sp intranet hosting in London from Australia

We have SP 2010 intranet hosting in London. When Australian users access the home page, it takes around 6-10s to load up. According to MS, we cannot have another WFE in APAC to reduce the latency.
What is the best way to reduce the latency?

I would suggest using a WAN accelerator. For example, a Riverbed appliance might help. Other companies make similar appliances and/or software solutions you can deploy to your networks.
Alternatively, depending on usage, you can build another farm in APAC and use a product like Metalogix Replicator to have two-way content replication. Then users can interact with content in their local region.

Essbase reports from the .sec file

Hi,I have an essbase app/database which has multiple filters. The security on the users are based on the filter setup on the user for this app/db. I want to be able to create a report which shows the app/database name, user id, filter setup on the userid, date when this was setup, date updated. Is there any possible way to get this? Currently I am on version 6.5.4? Does the 7.1 have any features that will allow this?ThanksAnde

I've used MAXL extensively to assist in managing security. There are a number of commands that are applicable; most notably display filter, display group, and display privilege.MAXL runs on 6.5.4 and is a lot more functional than Esscmd in system administration. You might want to play around with it a bit. If you have 6.5.4 AppMgr on your box, you have MAXL; extesnsive on-line help is available.

Doing a slideshow, and going from 5 sec clips to 2 sec clips is a problem

Alright, so majority of the slideshow is 5 second clips, however, in a certain section I want them to be 2 seconds. Now, the time on these clips says 2 seconds, but when I play them with the whole show, they don't stay up for 2 seconds, but rather something like 5 seconds. They play for 2 seconds when I play an individual one, but play them all together and suddenly they won't do as they're told >.< Suggestions, comments?

Sending reduced IDOC from XI to R/3 with nodata markers

Hi !
I need to update a VERY FEW Vendor fields data in R/3 from XI (FILE-XI-IDOC). I'm using the standard IDOC type CREMAS04 (I need to update fields of the E1LFBWM segment...withholding tax fields).
The problem is, that if I disable the not needed IDOC fields in the XI message mapping, when the IDOC reaches R/3, it blanks all the fields that were empty as result of the mapping...I verified it using XI and using the IDOC test tool (we19). For example, if the vendor had data in fields such as "salutation", "phone number", etc. after the IDOC processing, those fields change to BLANK.
One solution is to send the NODATA marker ("/") in those not needed fields, and that works!!!!...<b>BUT</b>, there are hundreds of IDOC fields.
I made a reduced IDOC type, based on CREMAS, enabling only the segments and fields needed, but tnx-WE19 and XI keep sending blank data in the not needed fields instead of the NODATA marker.
How could I send by default, the NODATA marker ("/") to all the fields NOT mapped or disabled, without having to map each field manually ?!?!?
Should XI send those fields as "/", or the R/3 should detect that the incoming IDOC is a reduced IDOC type, and complete all the not existing fields with NODATA ??
The goal is to update some data, and not overwrite with blanks, those fields that should remain untouched.

Is ur intention /equirement to send the NODATA for the rest of the IDOC elements or just send the reduced IDOC for the required sender elements..

The integration repository provides a new function: "export reduced XSD" to reduce the XML schema of an IDoc.
To use this function in the mapping tool, proceed as follows:
1) Open the relevant IDoc in the object editor of the XI Repository.
2) In the menu "Tools", select the menu option "Export reduced XSD".
3) Assign a file name in the subsequent dialog box and save the data on the hard disk of your local PC.
4) Use this exported file in the message mapping instead of the IDoc by using the function "Import XML or XSD" in the mapping tool to select the source or target message. So you must use this function to import the reduced XML schema stored under
3) of the IDoc in question, and use this XML schema instead of the complete IDoc.
Note: The XML schema generated using the function "export reduced XSD" does not contain the full information in the repository on the IDoc and should only be used for the mapping.
option2: if you want to send the NO DATA, you got to develop UDF in Java or XSLT..

Want to Change Latency from "Interleaved" To "Fast...

I used to have "Fast" latency which helped smooth play on xbox live, but when i turned my router on and off over a period of a few days (When i was rearranging my room) i noticed that my internet had slowed down, i checked and i had an "Interleaved" latency type! I wish to go back to "Fast" as it helped.
