Letters jumbled together is often a font or font cache problem. What font are you using? Does switching to Lucida Grande make a difference?

How do I reduce the number of pages in an iPhoto book from 100 to 50. I have selected 153 photos to be put in the book and iPhoto automatically designated the book to be 100 pages in length.

If the auto place put photos on all 100 pages you'll need to reset the layout on the first 50 pages so all photos will fit in just those 50 pages. Then add the photos to the first 50 pages and delete the last 50 according to the link Larry provided.

Hi Srinivas,
if they are standard fields, they should be available in the UI -> Show Configurable Areas -> Show Available Fields.
Just add them to the screen.

Reducing the file size Pages

I am trying to reduce the file size of a document in Pages. It has many jpegs. When I use File>Reduce File Size or Format>Image>Reduce File Size, I get stuck at "Determining potential file size reduction ..." and it will go no further. Selecting "Cancel" or "Reduce" has no effect. I need to to a forced quit to get anywhere. Thanks

To use the Reduce file size isn't the best way to do it but the easiest if it works. You probably have an image clogging the process.
Instead reduce the image sizes in a graphical application suited for it. Do the cropping of the images first if you haven't done that already. Then down size the resolution to about 300 dpi if you want to print the document images. If it is only going to show on the screen you can down size the images to about 75 dpi.

How do I reduce the size of page/script ?

There are no zoom in zoom out capabilities. No 100 or 125 or 150 settings on the lower right hand corner of screen.

How do you reduce the number of pages designated for a Photo Book? I have iPhoto 11 and OS X Lion.

I have been putting together a photo book. The program is not as intuitive as I had hoped and I have spent hours trying to fit my photos into the spaces they provide, but I am sticking to it. My problem is that I have been told by the program I have 54 pages but I don't need that many pages to get the pictures I want included. How do I delete some of the pages? Thank you for any hlep.

May I ask another question? Is it possible to add pictures to the cache of pictures to be added to the photo book without deleting the book and starting over? I have an album of pictures that I put together (60 years of pictures) and I am using that album as the selection of pictures to put in the book. I am having so much trouble fitting in the pictures I have selected in the spaces and sizes that pop up as available to me and there are so many more pictures I have that I now wish I had added to my album choices. I tried adding pictures to the source album but they don't seem to show up when I select pictures for the book.

Lead layout page

Is it possible to reduce the web page to fit the window? Therefore loosing the need for the side bar sliders

Although I have two screens I still need to keep my windows quite small and I was wondering if it was possible to automatically reduce the size of the web page to match the size of the available space in the window instead of having side bars sliders so if I needed to read text then I could just increase the window size and the web page would expand accordingly.

Enable audience for that webpart. Keep users who have access to that list\library :)

I am not sure if you can really disable something but try to use minimal master page. It will increase performance a lot.

I've exported my pages graphics document as a PDF file and can't seem to reduce the file size without compromising the quality of the photo's used even after choosing "best" quality. I'm trying to send the file via e-mail but it's too big. ??????

I am trying to e-mail a graphics pages document I made as a PDF file. After trying to resize the file, the photo's quality is compromised (really blurry) even after choosing "Best" quality. What am I doing wrong. As a regular full sized file (PDF) it's fine, but when it gets reduced, it's bad and it needs to get printed from the e-mail copy I'm trying to send. HELP! Please.

If there are a lot and/or large images the file will inevitably be large, no matter what.
You can reduce them down as far as possible by cropping and scaling them to the final size before creating the pdf. You can do this by opening the images in Preview .app and using Menu > Tools to reduce the resolution and to crop.
If you have used transparency effects eg shadow, reflection, transparency, 3D charts, OSX will by default render these at 72dpi in the pdf.

My company recently loaded foxfire and I cannot have two applications open in foxfire, the second page overlays the first and I cannot go back to the previous page or reduce the first page to view the first.

My pages in Foxfore are overlaying one another which is normal but you cannot get back to the previous page. An example is if I have a page opened in a program and open something totally different it replaces the first page and I cannot reduce the size to see the first page I was viewing nor go back to it. I did open a page with audio and opened another application in foxfire and the replacing went on as usual but the audio continued to play so the page is stinn there. Also the tool bar page showing icon is replaced with the newly opened page not an additional page opened being shown as a tab. It's like the newest page or site I open in Foxfire replaces the one that is currently opened.

This might be caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

I've just discovered that different typefaces seem to have different auto-leading in Pages. I am used to default leading being 120% of point size (or some consistent rule), but it seems this is not so any more. The same text in 10pt Times New Roman, which I would expect to line up with 10pt Palatino, for example, doesn't. I've tried using the inspector, at least to get both faces to behave the same for given settings, but I haven't been able to. How much control does Pages allow for this type of settings, and are there any hidden secrets as to how to do so? Many thanks

If you set the line spacing in the inspector to Exactly and 12 points for 10 point type, it will work the way you want.

No the pages will open as separate documents in Expert Mode. You really need Acrobat or possibly you could copy and paste the contents into MS word. Then re-save as PDF.

If you right click on the image on the page in the context menu select photo box alignment and then select one of scale to fit {centered, Left-aligned, Right-aligned}
That should do what you are loking for.
