Reduced speed for no apparent reason

Question

When BT came and installed Infinity 2 at my house in June 2012, everything had been working fine, and I was receiving the 58 meg estimate.
My line was averaging at around 60 meg down and 17 meg up ever since install until around the middle of February, where my speeds then dropped to 46 meg down and 12 meg up, and my ping went up by about 15ms.
I've tried contacting the mods, but they've now given up telling me that my line is perfectly normal and there is nothing that can be done to fix it.
I am just a little confused as to why my connection was perfectly fine for 6+ months at 60 meg, and now all of a sudden I can't receive anything faster than 46 meg. In that 6 month period I also had a ping of around 13 ms to bbc.co.uk, which has now gone up to 30 ms.
Does anyone know if there is anything I can do my end to try and diagnose the cause of the speed drop? I do have an unlocked Huawei HG612 if that could be of any use to gather statistics?

The problem with what you are experiencing is the more poeple that connect to your local FTTC, you will then see a drop in your speed and unfortunatly this will happen and there is nothing BT/Openreach can do about it. The best thing to do is leave your equipment alone for a good month or so and then just turn the HH3/4 of and back on again and see if your speeds increase again!.
