Reducing Slide Size without scaling objects

Hi All,
I have a presentation that is in 2 sizes 1920X1220 and 1920X1080. If we increase the custom size of a slide show it does not resize the type and content.
If we try to decrease the size it resizes the type and content.
Unfortunately we started making changes to the 1920X1220 and need to resize it down.
Is there a way to reduce the size of a slide without it scaling the content and type?

Is there a way to reduce the size of a slide without it scaling the content and type?
Nothing that's especially convenient. If you copy elements from the larger document, and paste them into the smaller document, the original size(s) will be retained. Everything will then have to be realigned in the smaller document (the pasted position is always relative to the upper-left corner of the receiving page, so the pasted elements will no longer be centered on a different size page).

  • Change slide size without resizing objects?

Is it possible to change the slide size without causing Keynote '09 to resize all the objects on each slide?

As far as I can tell it's not possible. You have to make a new presentation with the size you want and copy paste everything from the previous presentation into it.

  • Reducing image size without reducing quality

    Hello all.
I'm trying to learn if there is a way to reduce the size of an image in Pages without reducing the quality.  It seems that when I use the built-in command from the file menu or by control-clicking on an image, the images go soft after the reduction.  There has to be a way to keep the photos sharp without having them take up so much space.  Any tips out there?

Best is to take the original images into Preview and:
1 Crop them to the view in Pages
    2. Decide what resolution you want for the final size in Pages:
    300dpi for good quality printing
150 dpi for good quality screen appearance
72 dpi for bare minimum screen appearance
    3. If they are color photo like images, save them as .jpeg with as much quality loss as you you can tolerate
    4. If they are flat areas of color or black and white save them as compressed .tiffs
After cropping and compression bring them back into Pages and use no compression there at all.

  • Reducing file size without loosing clarity

I have two designs for labels that have to be approved by the government for type size regulations.  The current size of the illustrator files are 133.3 MB and 24.7 MB I need to provide these at no larger than 450 kb AND the type must be readable and measurable for approval.
I have tried everything I can think of to provide the artwork small enough yet still retaining enough resolution to not make the type fuzzy and not able to be measured for size.  I've tried making the files from within illustrator, I've tried taking everything into Photoshop to make the JPEGS with no luck.  They want either a gif, jpeg or tiff no larger than 450 kb that is viewable at the print size of the label with no loss of resolution... Does anyone have any suggestions on how to create these?
    Thanks in advance,
    Nina

Photos, type gradients, complex paths, etc... and yes I know if they would just accept PDF files it would be no problem, but this is the Federal Government.  Do they ever do anything the easiest way.
I think I figured out a way to get these down in size without lossing too much... I took the background with all the complex paths and I made a separate JPEG put that back into an illustrator file, placed the type over it and made an RGB JPEG out of illustrator...used the type hinting and a low setting.  Got it down to 425 kb and well the type looks pretty darn good.  I hope this works because I've done this well over a dozen times and they've all been rejected.  This is the info the agency sent regarding it being rejected:
"Per Industry Circular 2011-4, your application and label(s) have not been reviewed for type size, characters per inch or contrasting background. The responsible industry member must continue to ensure that the mandatory information on the actual labels is displayed in the correct type size, number of characters per inch, and on a contrasting background in accordance with the TTB labeling regulations, 27 CFR parts 4, 5, 7, and 16, as applicable."
"One or more of your label images appear too small for the proper evaluation of your label(s). When the dimensions you specify are applied to the label, the system renders your label as a blurred image. Please remove the current image(s) and replace it with new, larger image(s). We advise that, when you develop your label images, the compression ratio should be set at MEDIUM or LOW so that the file is still within the file size limit of 450KB"
    Thanks for your comment!

  • Reducing image size without affecting animation

After having trouble rendering, I realized that he images I scanned in are too high resolution even for my HD comp.  For my next project, I'll know, but for this project, is there a way to know how to reduce those images appropriately and substitute them so that I won't have to do any new keyframes or something? A way that I can just edit the files in Photoshop and have them update to be lower res in AE without affecting their sizes?

There's generally no easy fix for this problem.  Make your life easier by scaling your images in Photoshop by a fixed amount, eg 50%.  Then re-scale in After Effects the appropriate amount.
If there is scale-based animation on the layers, you can add a Null to your comp, parent the Null to the layer in question and scale the Null the appropriate amount.  You can delete the Null when finished.

  • Resizing movie without scaling objects

I would like to have a button in a movie that, once pressed,
will resize the height and width of the .swf movie, but I don't
want anything else on screen to be scaled to reflect the change in
    movie size.
For example, if the movie dimensions are doubled in size, I
don't want a text box to double in size - I want that to stay the
    same size.
Anyone know how to solve this?

Heres an example of what I mean below. The width of the flash
movie resizes to fit different browser resolutions. The image at
the back also moves as the browser window is resized. All whilst
the menu in the centre of the screen remains the same size.

  • How do I change a movie's size without scaling it?

I have a movie in 960x540 resolution but the subject of the movie takes up a vertical area of about 400x540 in the center of the frame. The rest of the space to the left and right is just wasted white space. I would like to remove that wasted space and just have a 400x540 movie.
I've tried looking in the Visual Settings tab for the Video Track and playing with the numbers there, but it just scales the whole frame. I was hoping the Offset numbers would do the trick, so I could enter something like: Scaled Size 400x540 and Offset: 280x0. As far as i can tell, the Offset numbers don't do anything at all. It doesn't even appear in the User Guide or the Help documentation.
Can anyone suggest how I can trim off that wasted space on the left and right side of my movie? If QuickTime Pro isn't the right software for the job, I'm open to other options!
    Thanks!

  • My iTunes is taking too much ram on my computer, what can I do reduce the size without having to delete items?

    Hi,
Since I have stared uploading movies onto my iTunes I have run out of space on my iBook. What can I do to fix this without having to delete movies? Is it possible to move my iTunes to somewhere else like a time capsule or external storage?

Yes. I moved iTunes to an external hard drive. Admittedly, I'm not tech-savvy, so I went to the Apple store and had them help me with it, but it's quite doable, and much smarter than putting an enormous music library on your computer.

  • Can you open a Jpeg graphic and reduce its size without it becoming pixilated and blurry?

Hi I am new to Illustrator and photoshop.
I am designing a birthday poster on A4.  I recently received a graphic of a bird that is in JPE and PNG format. When I
opened the graphic it was huge - as big as the screen and looked fantastic, smooth outline and crystal clear.  Its a great
graphic but I want to make a border of small birds to outline the poster.  When I downsized the graphic by transforming
it to 10% its original size it looked really rubbish - all blurry and when i printed it out it was not very good at all!
I'm obviously completely new to Adobe software so i don't know all the correct terminology.  Basically I just want the graphic
of the bird to be alot  smaller and look as smooth and sleek as it does when its massive.  The graphic is 1200 x 1200 pixels
and i want it to be about 50 x 50.  How do I do it?  Can it be done? Or is all my efforts in vain!!!
A few people have said I need photoshop but when I tried it on there it still didn't work.  I'm wondering if its the graphic
    that is the problem.
Thanks in advance for your help
    Lauren

Go back to photoshop open the image in the in Phooshop then
    1 go to Image>Image Size
2 uncheck at the bottom left the option to resample
3 make certain Constrain Proportions is checked
4 to the right of the width input field there is three drop downs on the top one select percent
5 then in the width change the percentage to 10%
6 now look at the resolution field if it is more than 300 or 355 ppi at this point check the resample art and change resolution setting to 300 or 355 ppi or what ever your printer prefers. It is not likely with this reduction it will be smaller than 300ppi.
7 now save the file with a different name using the Save As command.
8 place this file in Illustrator and make it symbol now place the symbols instances instead of copying it each time.

  • I have an iPad2 and have been experiencing problems since the last software update.  My iPad randomly freezes and has to be shut down and restarted to move between apps.  The screen also suddenly enlarges and can't be reduced in size without shutting down

Not sure if anyone else is experiencing the same issue of the screen freezing or suddenly enlarging.  I'm having to shut down and restart as much as five or six times a day.  This has been happening pretty regularly for the past week or more, but seems to be getting worse.  Could it be the last software update?

Close all apps in Multi-Task Window.
    1. Double tap the home button to bring up the multi-tasking view
    2. Swipe the app's windows upwards to close
    3. The app will fly off the screen

  • How do I reduce the size of an AI CS6 file when saving as a pdf?

I'm trying to save an ai file to a PDF to send to the printer but the file is huge. How can I reduce the size without losing quality? I have already rasterized my images and flattened the artwork. Thanks!

How huge is huge?  Are all of the images Placed at 100% or have they been scaled?  What are the printer's requirements?  What are the physical dimensions of the file?  And, how are you creating the PDF?  There are a few ways to minimize size, starting with the file itself and the printer's requirements.  I find, sometimes, Exporting > TIFF > Open in Ps > Save As Photoshop PDF is helpful.  I also use Distiller which trims files nicely and is customizable.

  • Reduce File Size causes images to be blurry

I created a document in Pages '09 that contains several masked images, resulting in a really large file size. I clicked Reduce File Size to get rid of the cropped parts of the images. Unfortunately, the images are now blurry. Any way to mask or crop a picture, or use Reduce File Size, without loss of image quality?

The images are being reduced to 72dpi with no sharpening that I can see and the excess image outside the masking shape doesn't seem to get trimmed. I suspect you then saved to a pdf with a lower quality setting which would have given a 2nd reduction in quality on top of the first.
So the best option is to take your images into Preview, crop them, reduce their resolution and sharpen them then bring them back into your Pages layout before exporting to pdf.

  • Trying to reduce file size

I have an eight-minute home movie that I've imported to quicktime pro after using a program to extract it from a dvd (using final cut - ntsc setting). it has no sound. the film is running around 1.23 gigs. In quicktime pro, I saved it as a hinted movie. I want to put it on the web so people can stream it, but it's way too big. Can anyone suggest a way of reducing its size without losing too much of its quality?
    thanks for any suggestions,
    jeff

It doesn't have sound as it is an MPEG-2 stream from a DVD (which has "muxed" audio which QT won't handle).
Open the source MPEG-2 file in MPEG Streamclip and export to Quicktime from within MPEG Streamclip.
If you want it small you can experiment with the various setting in particular the encoder (try MPEG-4), the bitrate limited to around 1000-1500 kbps (k little b not B) and reduce the size from 720X480 (DVD size) to 352X240.
Use AAC audio not uncompressed or the audio will make up 1/2 the file size.
Generally if you are not familiar with QT the best thing to do is take 30 seconds of a clip and export it with various options - bitrate, codec, audio compressor and bitrate and size. Make note of the resulting file size for 30 seconds and you can figure out how long 5 or 10 or 30 minutes will be. Sorenson 3 is popular but is bigger than H263 for example.

  • Question on Blu ray image size output and reducing the size

    Hi
I have been using encore for blu ray projects which is been proving very helpful. However recently i have had a issue with output size on files. Normally Encore gives me it's estimate that it will fill the disc nicely and provides a image/folder which is about 17-20GB (using 25GB disc) but now out of the blue it's files sizes it outputs has been 24.8GB which technically is less than 25GB but as anyone knows who burns to media, the disc doesn't actually have 25GB of space (something like 23,8 or something, i can't remember without checking). Anyway of course this is a issue because my output size is contantly now coming up to be about 600MB - 1GB over the disc actual size, i figured Encore normally compresses files to fit considering i have burned similar amounts/size media before and never had a issue.
Anyway my issue is the slightly larger file size, i figured the easiest way to reduce the blu ray output size was to of course play with the transcode settings, which usually are set to the default settings for Blu ray (the quality preset is called something like "1280x720p 50 High Quality MPEG-2") so of course i thought to lower the bitrate a little just for a test, so i did just that and cut the default bit rate from 25[Mbs] to 20, i didn't want to lower it too much as it was a test to see what i could save for file size. Anyway so i re-transcoded the file and built another image, sadly the image size oddly enough came out as 26.something GB... so it actually grew in size by reducing the file bitrate which put me at a loss. I was wondering what common ways i could use to lower this file size just by a few hundred MB or up to 1GB in this case without having to remove content from the disc (it would be a waste to not only seperate the content but to use a whole disc for a leftover 600mb-1gb project). I of course want to keep quality as high as possible but i understand when trying to reduce size quality has to normally be hit in these situations so i can deal with a slight loss of quality. I have been browsing the forums here and though some topics seem similar they have the issue of file sizes coming out as 40GB+.
Now im no genius with Encore, normally as said the file size is always between 17-20GB as i figure encore was using a "fit to disc" type feature but because the output size is technically below 25gb but not actually below enough to burn i was wondering 2 things:
    1) is it possible to make encore it's self shrink these files a little more, lowering the target size down by 1GB would do wonders but only option i have seen is to have a 25GB disc or DL disc with no option to customize the output size (forcefully lowering it by 1GB).
    2) because i imagine the above can't be done i was wondering how to go about reducing the size by around 1GB or so, i don't need like 10GB freeing up so it's only a small amount, as said this is a issue i have had with the last few projects i made and the size varies from needing 600MB - 1GB (it doesn't usually exceed needing 1GB free space... besides when i lowered the bit rate which increased size a lot). In the past i always just cut the bitrate of files down a little (never by lots but enough to free space up) but clearly that failed my test so im at a loss of how to reduce file size without a huge loss in quality.
For the record i have already produced the file as both a image file and a folder and both have the same issue.
    Extra info on the project:
It contains 4 Menu's, 13 video files which vary in lengh from short ones at about 5mintues to longer ones which the largest is about 20minutes. I commonly burn this number of video files/space with fine quality and no issue so i would rather not take files from the project.
quality preset details are defaultly as said above set to "1280x720p 50 High quality MPEG-2" settings, i am not on my computer with encore at the moment so i can't post full specifics right now but if you have encore handy you should be able to check.
Tried reducing bit rate but that increased overall size, the actual plan was to hopefully lower the bit rate to around 21 [mbs] (from 25) and then do that for multiple (or all) files until it fitted but after it increased the size i lost hope there, it said the estimated file size (on the individual video) would drop by around 300-400mb  but that didn't work.
I have tried both folder and iso which always come out the same size.
Basically my main question/problem is any suggestion to drop the file size by up to 1GB without taking items out the project or a real high loss in quality (i don't mind small loss though as i can apply whatever solution to all files which should help).
Any suggestions what i can try? as you probably gather im not a genius when it comes to this stuff but i tried including what i thought is relevent.

    Hi and thank you for the reply;
one problem i seem to be having when reducing the bitrate is the file size is oddly increasing from 24.8GB to 26.4GB, i can't really figure this one out as well it's having the oppisite effect. I checked the "streams" folder on output and decided to compare automatic transcoding to manual lowered bitrate and im not too sure where the increased file size is going, i found which video file it was causing the issue, all videos files range or average around 1.6GB each but one file was taking 4.5GB, after lowering that files bitrate it cut it down to 2GB which was of course saving me 2GB from the old file but the overall size had increased which was odd. Seems the other files are all the same so it hasn't tried improving them (so it seems) so i can't make ends of why the size is increasing.
I will try playing with the source file to see if i can do anything that way, if not i will try transcoding in premiere (i have had troubles with this before so i try to avoid it).
Oh and yes i was using Automatic.
Anyway i will see if editing the file outside might help first and see how that works. Thanks again for the reply.

  • My Pinterest app takes up almost 4GB on my IPhone 5? How do I reduce that size? It's awful.

Basically it's explained in the title. But I've unselected all the things I have that I want on my iPhone to see if it would show that there were zero songs but it still shows that they're are 600 and I don't know how they're on there or how to get them off... please help me!
With your iPhone connected to iTunes, click on the Music tab where you set your sync selections.  Scroll to the bottom of the window ... do you see a category labeled something like "Manually added items"?  This can get populated with songs, which then get pushed to your device even if you have not selected them in any playlists, nor by artists or albums.
Songs in this category get there two ways:
    (a) iTunes purchases you make directly to your device (i.e. not via your computer).  Such songs are transferred to your library on the next sync, but they remain on your device even if you don't want them sync'd.
    (b) Even though you auto-sync, you can manually drag and drop songs onto your device, which lets you take a hybrid approach to syncing, auto and manual.  If you ever did this, such songs fall into this category.
In either case, you can select all the songs in this "Manually added" category and delete them, then initiate a sync to remove them.  See if that helps.
If you don't see songs in this category, look for randomly-selected albums and/or artists in your sync selection.  Lately I've been seeing things selected that I know I did not select for syncing.
