Redundant design with 7600

I have the following design
ASW 1-------7600(1)------DSW 1
                                          |
ASW2--------7600(2)------DSW 2
both 7600s are configured for HSRP.
i am looking for a proper redundant design for this setup with a configuration guidelines

Hi,
Starting from Vivado 2015.1 we have "out of context per IP" setting for block design. So each IP inside the block design will have its own synthesis run and this helps in run time improvement.
You need to use "IP cache" feature in addition to this. Refer to page-25 of http://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/sw_manuals/xilinx2015_1/ug896-vivado-ip.pdf for more details.
Try using only one block design, this might help to avoid the error.
Thanks,
Deepika.

  • N7k as redundant core with vpc to 4510/3750 as distribution switch

    Hi - basic question here
Got 2 qty N7k as redundant core with vpc to 4510 and 3750 as redundand distribution switch running MST. I got stuck with some bad cabling design from our IDF to Datacenter so have 2 access switch whereby each one will have a etherchannel to both distribution 4510 and 3750. My question is this is  a doable design as I am not sure about the vpc upstream on how it effects etherchannel with MST for my distribution and access.
    Thanks

vPC will be considered as one logical link by both upstream and downstream connected devices
the question here are you going to run L3 between the distribution and Core devices ? (  this is recommended design ) if yes, then you do not need to worry about MST and VPC if you going to have it L3 from distribution devices up to the Core
one thing to consider is the distribution switch in your design has big difference in terms of backplane throughput i mean between the 4500 and 3750 !
if you can have both as 4500 will be better and more consistent design
    Good luck

  • Spanning Tree Redundancy Design

I am getting ready to deploy a redundant design using 3 3750's running emi software for a core and 2950's for distribution layer and access layer both. The 2950's with fiber attachment will be dual distribution switches providing a redundant link for every switch. My question is that if I set the "stacked" 3750's as the root bridge in stp, I thought it would be to my advantage to set the distro switches to 4096 and 8192 to make sure that stp take the correct path. Should I let stp take care of itself? Please consult the diagram and I appreciate any input. Thanks.

I would set the root id on the 3750's to 4096 and set one of your distribution switches to 8196 as a backup. Now I am assuming you are not doing load balancing or vlans either; so with that in mind after you set your root id, I would let STP take care of your redundant link between your distro switches and access switches. After STP chooses the links, then you can go back and set cost to the interfaces if the traffic flow is what you want. Make sure you enable rapid pvst+ on all your switches.
Here is a good reference to follow as well.

  • Redundant installation with 4200 sensors

    Hi
We are in a process of starting to work on a design with several IPS 4270. The demand is to make the design redundant and with high availability.
As I am aware of there no redundant support (e.g. no protocol support like HSRP) within the IPS itself but several ways to make a redundant installation. I'm looking for white papers, case studies or design suggestions involving a redundant installation. Could you please guide me where to find such information?
    Thanks

  • Dual-DMVPN Design with Dual Hubs on a single router ??

    Hi All,
In DMVPN, in Dual-DMVPN Design with Dual Hubs , can a single router perform the role of dual hubs.
The router has two different internet links. It is intended that when one link goes down, spokes shud connect to the same router onto the other active internet connection. Is this possible ?

Since no one has answered yet, I'll give you the practical answer.
You'll have issues with IPSec and static routing. "DMVPN" itself probably wouldn't have an issue, but it would depend on IPSec and routing to work.
It is easier, by far, to put in a second router. And when you factor in your time to try to make it work (and it may not work), the second router is less expensive.

  • I have tried everything I know to retrieve the iPhoto Library app.  I detest this new Photo app, which obviously wasn't designed with photographers in mind.  I desperately need help in retrieving the old app and have not been able to do it so far.

I have tried everything I know to retrieve the iPhoto Library app.  I detest this new Photo app, which obviously wasn't designed with photographers in mind.  I desperately need help in retrieving the old app and have not been able to do it so far.  I have gone to my app folder and tried to update my iPhoto Library.  I have gone to my trash and brought it over to my desktop and still cannot use it.  Please help!

Try this fix discovered by User photosb189:
From Finder, hold down the option key on your keyboard and click on the Go menu at the top of the screen
Select Library from the drop down menu
Then navigate to Application Support > iLifeAssetManagement > assets
Right click on the 'sub' folder and choose Compress
Drag the resulting zip file to your Desktop (as a backup)
Go to your System Preferences and choose iCloud
Turn OFF the iCloud Photos option
Go back to Library > Application Support and DELETE the iLifeAssetManagement folder
Now, in System Preferences, turn the iCloud Photos option ON
iPhoto should now be able to launch. Give it enough time to re-download your Photo Stream content. if you are missing any of your My Photo Stream photos (more than 30 days old), unzip the sub folder on your desktop and drag that into iPhoto.

  • Designing with CSS in Design View

Hey guys, I'm working on learning CSS. One problem I'm having
is that while I'm working on the code, what shows in the design
view in dreamweaver isn't the same, (not even close), to what it
looks like in any browser. For example the location of a div will

It seems like it would be very hard to design this way. Why
doesn't dreamweaver attempt to reflect what it looks like in one of
the browsers. Is this just the way it is when designing with css?
If so, how the heck do people do it? Do you just have to keep

  • Ask the Expert: Different Flavors and Design with vPC on Cisco Nexus 5000 Series Switches

Welcome to the Cisco® Support Community Ask the Expert conversation.  This is an opportunity to learn and ask questions about Cisco® NX-OS.
The biggest limitation to a classic port channel communication is that the port channel operates only between two devices. To overcome this limitation, Cisco NX-OS has a technology called virtual port channel (vPC). A pair of switches acting as a vPC peer endpoint looks like a single logical entity to port channel attached devices. The two devices that act as the logical port channel endpoint are actually two separate devices. This setup has the benefits of hardware redundancy combined with the benefits offered by a port channel, for example, loop management.
vPC technology is the main factor for success of Cisco Nexus® data center switches such as the Cisco Nexus 5000 Series, Nexus 7000 Series, and Nexus 2000 Series Switches.
This event is focused on discussing all possible types of vPC along-with best practices, failure scenarios, Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) recommendations and troubleshooting

    Hello Gustavo
Please see my responses to your questions:
Yes almost all routing protocols use Multicast to establish adjacencies. We are dealing with two different type of traffic –Control Plane and Data Plane.
Control Plane: To establish Routing adjacency, the first packet (hello) is punted to CPU. So in the case of triangle routed VPC topology as specified on the Operations Guide Link, multicast for routing adjacencies will work. The hellos packets will be exchanged across all 3 routers and adjacency will be formed over VPC links
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/nexus5000/sw/operations/n5k_L3_w_vpc_5500platform.html#wp999181
Now for Data Plane we have two types of traffic – Unicast and Multicast.
The Unicast traffic will not have any forwarding issues, but because the Layer 3 ECMP and port channel run independent hash calculations there is a possibility that when the Layer 3 ECMP chooses N5k-1 as the Layer 3 next hop for a destination address while the port channel hashing chooses the physical link toward N5k-2. In this scenario,N5k-2 receives packets from R with the N5k-1 MAC as the destination MAC.
Sending traffic over the peer-link to the correct gateway is acceptable for data forwarding, but it is suboptimal because it makes traffic cross the peer link when the traffic could be routed directly.
For that topology, Multicast Traffic might have complete traffic loss due to the fact that when a PIM router is connected to Cisco Nexus 5500 Platform switches in a vPC topology, the PIM join messages are received only by one switch. The multicast data might be received by the other switch.
The Loop avoidance works little different across Nexus 5000 and Nexus 7000.
Similarity: For both products, loop avoidance is possible due to VSL bit
The VSL bit is set in the DBUS header internal to the Nexus.
It is not something that is set in the ethernet packet that can be identified. The VSL bit is set on the port asic for the port used for the vPC peer link, so if you have Nexus A and Nexus B configured for vPC and a packet leaves Nexus A towards Nexus B, Nexus B will set the VSL bit on the ingress port ASIC. This is not something that would traverse the peer link.
This mechanism is used for loop prevention within the chassis.
The idea being that if the port came in the peer link from the vPC peer, the system makes the assumption that the vPC peer would have forwarded this packet out the vPC-enabled port-channels towards the end device, so the egress vpc interface's port-asic will filter the packet on egress.
Differences:  In Nexus 5000 when it has to do L3-to-L2 lookup for forwarding traffic, the VSL bit is cleared and so the traffic is not dropped as compared to Nexus 7000 and Nexus 3000.
It still does loop prevention but the L3-to-L2 lookup is different in Nexus 5000 and Nexus 7000.
For more details please see below presentation:
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/sites/default/files/session_14-_nexus.pdf
DCI Scenario:  If 2 pairs are of Nexus 5000 then separation of L3/L2 links is not needed.
But in most scenarios I have seen pair of Nexus 5000 with pair of Nexus 7000 over DCI or 2 pairs of Nexus 7000 over DCI. If Nexus 7000 are used then L3 and L2 links are required for sure as mentioned on above presentation link.
Let us know if you have further questions.
    Thanks,
    Vishal

  • Native Multi-VRF-Lite Design with EIGRP Question

    Hello,
we think about to implement a VRF-Lite design (no MPLS and MBGP) in our campus network (10,000 ports, 20x 6500Sup720, 400x L2-Switches). MPLS is from our point of view oversized for our requirements. We need only a segmentation from different departments. Our IGP is eigrp.
In the latest IOS-Release for the cat6500 (12.2.18SXD) is finally a VRF-Lite support for EIGRP inside.
We could test successful a design with different VRFs in our lab, the division workes fine. But we didn't found a way to implement shared service. These are in our case DHCP, DNS, InternerAccess and some others. We thought about a redistribution between our global EIGRP routing table and the EIGRP-vrf tables, but we didn't found a way to do this.
    How can we do this?
    Thanks

Use a crossover cable to connect a port belonging to the global routing table to a port belonging to a VRF. This way you can leak EIGRP routes from the global routing table into the VRF (through that physical connection). The drawback is that you use 2 ports (that could instead be used for other things...).
Another way to this, would be to use static routing; use ip route vrf VRF x.x.x.x m.m.m.m n.n.n.n global to allow traffic to go from the VRF into the global routing table.
    Hope that helps...

  • Will Java UFLs satisfy reports designed with COM UFLs

cr_xi_java_ufl.pdf notes that "When using Crystal Reports" to design reports that contain user-defined function libraries (UFL), you can use only Java UFLs or only COM UFLs, but not both".
Is that purely a statement about configuring the Developer to access the UFLs or does it indicate some sort of distinction between COM and Java UFLs.
In particular can I take a report designed on Microsoft Windows and including a call to a UF that happened to be exposed by a COM UFL and then run it under Crystal Reports Server XI R2 for Linux using JRC and have the function call evaluated by a Java UF of the same signature within a Java UFL?

Business Objects led me wrong.  Java UFLs DO satisfy reports designed with COM UFLs.
If I take a report that was designed under Microsoft Windows and I added functions that were there via COM UFLs (certainly I have proved it by typing the UFL name in directly into the formula editor; I presume it will also work if you drag the COM UFL into the formula editor) and I then place that rpt file on my Linux machine and view that report using Crystal Reports Server XI R2 and Tomcat and JRC and I have Java UFLs on that Linux machine that have the same name and arguments as the COM one then the report runs OK and the Java UFLs do their job.
    (Now that is great news)

  • Transparent design with router on both sides?

I am looking to solve a design which has to work in two scenarios. Preferably with an in-line solution.
    1. Transparent design with VRF on both sides:
    FW-VRF (Subnet A)
          |
          | (VLAN 11)      | ACE (Subnet A)
          |
          | (VLAN 12)
          |
    LAN-VRF
          |
          |  (VLAN 13)
          |
    Real servers (Subnet B)
    2. Transparent design in plain bridge mode
    FW-VRF (Subnet A)
          |
          | (VLAN 11)      |
       ACE (Subnet A)
          |
          | (VLAN 12)
          |
    Real servers (Subnet A)
As mentioned, I am aiming for a single design for both scenarios. A routed design will not pass in the first scenario and a one-arm solution will be inefficient in the second scenario. (both due to existing infrastructure) Is it possible to solve this with a transparent solution in both scenarios? I can't seem to get it to work.
Thanks in advance for any help!

I'm gonna expand my question a bit as I can not seem to get a working config in scenario 1. From the ACE I can ping the VRFs on both side of the ACE. I can on the other hand not ping neither the bvi-address of the ACE nor one VRF from the other. Can anyone notice any immediate errors in my config? Thanks in advance for any help!

  • When I design with Muse and export as HTML Dreamweaver doesn't attach the style sheets. Any answers?

When I design with Muse and export as HTML Dreamweaver doesn't attach the style sheets when I open the files with Dreamweaver. Essentially when I design with Muse the files don't render the same with Dreamweaver. Is this a bug? Any work arounds?

Then you will have to install a local server and use live view.  It's not that DW isn't rendering it or isn't attaching it, it's that Muse decided to use server-side processing to include it which is ok for a CMS practice when you are combining stylesheets for better caching, but it really isn't ideal for a single style sheet.  This is a shortcoming of Muse and one of the reasons many professionals don't back the product at the moment.  That and you can't actually buy Muse, so unless you are on a subscription you don't have it.  It's trying to fill a void for those who don't want to invest in the professional design tools like Fireworks or Photoshop or Dreamweaver, but want a cross between them to make designs.  If you have invested in the subscription though and want a better way to make layouts I highly recommend coding it yourself and using Fireworks or Photoshop to do the layout for you.  There is an excellent tutorial on the devnet (3 parts) to show you how its done ( http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/dw_fw_css_pt1.html ).  Once you start using Fireworks or Photoshop you will realize just how limited Muse is in design.
