Reference or File name of the Photo

I have several photos of various scenes and architectural products. When I trying to view photos in iPod,it is quite difficult sometimes to recognise those Photos.
How can it be possible to see the file name also to the top of the display/screen in iPod,during viewing the photos exactly same as when we playing songs and it shows the songs name(that which song is currently playing)...?

Display of filenames is not a current revel feature. Some users have asked for metadata to be displayed and this is on the wishlist for consideration.

  • How can I show the file name of the photo?

Shouldn't this meda data show load with the photo. When i'm sharing similar photos with people, I would like them to be able to reference a file name.

  • Can I type in a file name for the photo while it is ON the ipod?

I can't find anywhere to give the photo a name right after I take the picture and before I upload it into iphoto. I like to type in the name of the people in the photo, and also give it a name.

You can't edit a photo on the ipod, you'll have to do this in iphoto and sync the photos back to your device.
Maybe there are 3rd party apps letting you do this.

  • How can I view photos on the iPad in order of the name of the photo instead of the date the photo has been taken

On the PC I edited the "file"names of photos in a photo-album, so that the photos are in a logical order after the file names. When I synchronise this photos with the iPad, they are shown on the iPad in the chronological order when the photo has been taken.
How can I pursue the iPad to show the photos in the order of the "file"names of the photos instead of the order after the date of the photo?

    hello Allan
Thanks for the answer. Wouldn't it be a nice feature on the iPad if you can choose on the iPad itself in which order the photos should be sorted -> for instance after capture date, after filename or after sorting in iPhoto
Maybe this will be a feature for the next iOS release

  • Show file name as the title for a photo in Photos app

If my memory is correct in iPhoto when you hovered the cursor over a photo it displayed the title assigned to the photo, but if you had not assigned a title it showed the file name. In Photos app the only way I have found to see the file name is in the info panel. Other wise it only shows untitled when you hover over the photo. You can copy/paste in the info pane but thats a pain if you have hundreds of pics with no title. I only named a few in iPhoto as I preferred to see the file name assigned by the camera. Any one know if it's possible to see file name and not untitled?

See this discussion:  Re: Where are photo file names?
Photos does show the filenames only in the Info panel, and if you wrote the filename into the title field as a title, Photos will suppress it. in some cases

  • How to I find the file name of a photo in iPhoto '11?

I am trying to simply find the actual file name of any photo in iPhoto 2011, so when searching for a specific file in other programs, I can look for it directly. I am fairly new to OS X, and so this might be very easy to others, however I thought I would simply ask.
I am working with a MacBook Pro, without a retina display, running OS X Lion 10.7.4.
    Thanks!

I recently had to re-index my harddrive because of a similar reason (search results not populating accurately, even though the files were there) and so I am beginning to wonder. Consider something as easy as adding a photo to my profile here was tough because when searching for the file name I could not locate the appropriate photo. Although I used your suggestion (make a copy on desktop), and then select it directly, it would be much easier to search in the "upload" window, i.e. finder, and then move on.
    Thanks again for your help!

  • Displaying photo file names in the slideshow

I don't think this has been asked yet, so....Does anyone know of a way to display the photo name when you are viewing the slideshow on the ATV similiar to the way you can view the file name in the iphoto slideshow? I haven't found this option if it exists in the ATV slideshow settings.
    Thanks
      Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Click on the Organizer top menu:
    View >> Details >> Filenames
Then adjust the zoom slider to show more or less information under each thumbnail.

  • File-2-Proxy: Get file name in the inbound proxy?

    Hi,
I need to know the file name in the inbound proxy. After a search I found that's possible mapping the file name to the target structure as it's explained in that link: [http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs;jsessionid=(J2EE3417200)ID1731350750DB00274596951164745615End?blog=/pub/wlg/2664]
But I need to know if there is another way to access the file name in the inbound proxy without modifying the mapping.
    Thanks.

this is possible by a dynamic configuration (there is no other easy way)
    some references -

the idea is to get the file name in runtime using the dynamic conf code and poulating it to any field that will be part of the proxy message

  • How do I change a file name of a photo

I am new to the Mac and running Yoesomite. I wanted to know can I change the file name of a photo in iPhoto.  If not, then is the process to export the file to the desktop and then change the file name using cmd i.  I used to be able to do this in Windows easily but now I am not sure how to do this on a Mac.

You can take the photo you need from iPhoto Library in Pictures. Click it with right mouse button and choose Show Package Contents. In that folder that opens, choose Masters and now you can find the photo that you needed, but it will take some time as there are many folders and some may be empty. Copy that photo to Desktop and do what you want from that point.
    Don't do that.
It's utterly unnecessary, slow and difficult and worse, risks dataloss.
Use the simple and supported ways.
Export using File -> export, or use a Media Browser.
When uploading to Wordpress there is no need to rename the file. Just upload it from the Media Browser (*see below) and you can title it in the Wordpress dialogue.

  • Changing file names in the Information Pane

Why doesn't changing the names of photographs in the Information Pane also change the name of the files in the iPhoto Library folder??
If I import photos direct from my camera, the photos are stored with generic file names (like DSC_006) in the Original Folder and the Data folder in iPhoto Library folder. Once stored there, I understand that if you move, delete or "rename" any of those files "in the Finder" that iPhoto may not thereafter be able to see them.
But I don't understand why if you change those file names in the Information Pane from within the iPhoto application, why the actual file names in the Original and Data folder aren't correspondingly changed.
I would prefer to eliminate the generic file names and presently the only way that I can do that is to simply transfer the photos from the memory cards, change the file names and then import the files into iPhoto.
This seems like an unnecessary step.
    Am I missing something here?

If you want the capability of editing the original file names they you'll need to upgrade to a more professional application like iView MediaPro. Aperture doesn't let you change the original file names from within the application.
If you need to the use file outside iPhoto with the same name as the Title in iPhoto then you can do just as PhillyPhan pointed out, export to the Desktop using the User Title option.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • When someone other than myself downloads an image from my web album, a dynamically generated file name replaces the original file name.  How I can prevent the original file name being replaced during the downloading process?

When someone other than myself downloads an image from my web album, a dynamically generated file name replaces the original file name.  How I can prevent the file name being changed during this downloading process?

    Hi Glenyse,
    Here are my steps.
    1.  I upload multiple image (jpg) files onto my photo album.
    2.  I select the "sharing" by email option for this album.
    3.  I enter the recipient's email address.
    4.  The recipient receives my message and clicks on the link.
    5.  The recipient accesses my photo album and clicks on one of the images.
    6.  The image opens up to its own screen.
    7.  The recipient selects the "download" and then save file option.
Here is the part I do not understand.  For some reason, during this "download" process, the original name which I have given to the file is replaced by different name.  So I was hoping that someone knows how to prevent the file name from being changed during the "download and save" process.
Much appreciated if you can help me find a solution to this problem.

  • Dynamic file name of the attachment in sender mail adapter

    Hi
I have configured a sender mail adapter which receives some attachments.
Right now the file name of the attachment is hardcoded to "MailAttachment-1" "MailAttachment-2" using the content-description from "AF_Modules/PayloadSwapBean" module.
I want to set it to dynamic ie. instead of "MailAttachment-1"... i want it with real name of the attach.
please suggest a solution w/o the need to develop a custom adapter module.
    Thanks!
    Regards,
    Mariano.

    Thanks Prateek,
Now, i can see that the name of the original file is into the content type named as  text/xml; name"name of the file.xml" when i send the email from outlook.
If i send it from hotmail, this is not happend.
Do you know why happend this?
If i always would have the original name inside the content type, my problem will be solved.

  • Reading file names in the unix box

    Hello,
I did the following to read the files from the local directory.
    String s1 = "c:\samplefiles"
    File dir = new File(s1);
    if(dir.isDirectory())
    String listoffiles [] = dir.list();
    for(int i = 0; i <listoffiles.length ; i++)
    System.out.println(listoffiles);
    else
    System.out.println("Its not a directory");
How can i read and print the file names in the unix box?
    Thank You.
    Kumar

    Thank You for the reply.
In my custom page, i am trying to include a search page which includes date parameters based on which the pdf files in the unix box should be displayed in the page as a list. (The pdf file names start with the date).
Once the user clicks the file names displayed in the page, i need to open the pdf. This part i can handle but to search the file names based on the parameter names and display in the page as the list is a bit confusing.
    Thank You.

  • Changing of the physical file name of the file after archiving

    Hi all,
We are in process of archiving  and  completed the process successfully and archived to o:\PRODSID\<filename>.
When refresh   is happening from Prod to Quality   the archived data will come as O:\PRODSID\<filename> and the archived files will not be accessible since quality system  is not able to find the path with O:\PRODSID\<filename>.
Is there anyway i can change the physical file name  of the archived files to correct path O:\QUALITYSID\<filename>, i need to change only the SID  only    from PRD to QUALITY.
    Thanks,

  • How to pass the local file name to the workflow in TC OAWD

    Hi everybody!
I have to pass the local file name of the image as a parameter to a workflow in TC OAWD.
By debugging I found the FM which starts the workflow -  'ARCHIV_PROCESS_FAXINPUT' . It has two importing parameters : FRONTENDPATH and BASICFILENAME, but they are not used by calling the FM.
Do you have an idea if there is a DDIC table, which contains the local file name or another way to solve the issue.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,
Not sure of what you want.
Have a look at v$session view. Machine column is maybe what you're looking for.
If you want to retrieve the local host executing remote desktop, it's actually not possible natievely, since it's still remote host that is connecting to the database.
    Hope it helps.
