REFLECT in Flash?

I can reflect an image in both Photoshop and Illustrator. In Photoshop by flipping either horizontally or vertically   In Illustrator by using the "dedicated" Reflect Tool
Why can I not reflect...or flop an image in FLASH?
Is there a way to achieve this function within Flash CS4  or cs5 for that matter?
Thak you.

Look under Modify -> Transform -> Flip Vertical

  • .fla into swf files

Okay here is the deal. I downloaded a template for oscommerce
that has a flash header (this flash file is main.swf). I am able to
make the adjustments that are needed in Flash 8 but once I try to
save it as .swf it tells me that I am unable to save it as an older
file. It says that I can try to save as "save as" but everytime I
save as main.swf it tells me the same thing again.
Also is there anything special that needs to be done in my
FTP program to upload flash files correctly?
Thank you for your time guys.

Edit a SWF file from Dreamweaver in Flash
If you have both Flash and Dreamweaver installed, you can select a SWF file in a Dreamweaver document and use Flash to edit it. Flash does not edit the SWF file directly; it edits the source document (FLA file) and re‑exports the SWF file.
In Dreamweaver, open the Property inspector (Window > Properties).
In the Dreamweaver document, do one of the following:
Click the SWF file placeholder to select it; then in the Property inspector click Edit.
Right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Macintosh) the placeholder for the SWF file, and select Edit With Flash from the context menu.
Dreamweaver switches the focus to Flash, and Flash attempts to locate the Flash authoring file (FLA) for the selected SWF file. If Flash cannot locate the Flash authoring file, you are prompted to locate it."
But I don't see "Edit with Flash" option.  Maybe because I have a trial version of Dreamweaver?

  • Iphone 5 black, do i have to worry about scratches?

am gonna get an iphone 5 black from someone soon and unfortunately i have no control over the color choice. i wanted white but i am gonna get a black piece.
i often come across blogs on the internet saying the iphone 5 black gets scratched a lot! i dont wanna put an ugly case of a sctarch guard on my iphone's back. the scratch guards tend to reflect the flash's light when taking pics with flash on, which over exposes the pictures.
so anyway, i called up apple care guys and they said the problem of scratches is solved.
can i just use my iphone 5 without haivng to worry about its beautiful aluminum back getting scratched?
    Neerav

    Hi Julian,
You make me look stupid! Lol. Obviously I know that putting it through the extremities would cause damange but I am talking about general use. Last thing I want to know if there is a scratch on it because of the ring I wear!
What I have heard is of the black one being extremely sensitive. Today, a guy from a nearby apple service center asked me to get a bumper cause, he said, the side aluminium gets bent if u accidently drop the iphone 5.
i have dropped my iphone 3g and 4 several times but this was never an issue. so was just asking about 'general use'. thanks anyway for ur reply.

    Hi,
I tried using Dreamweaver to convert a SWF file into a FLA file so I can edit it in CS 5.  But when I right clicked the placeholder for the file, it doesn't have an "Edit in Flash"  option. What am I doing wrong?

  • Distorting a bitmap image

Okay, I know this is a stupid question but, if you bring in a jpg or png image and either convert it to a graphic or a movie clip, or just leave it as an image, is there a way to distort the image other than scaling, rotating and skewing it.  For example, I want to change the perspective of an image the way I do in photoshop.  Let's say the image is a house, in   photoshop, you can take the house and make it look like a trapezoid shape, you know, wider at the bottom than at the top.  Is there a way to do this using flash tools?  Envelope distorting, if you break the image apart doesn't really work.  I am making reflections in flash and the only thing I want to change is for the reflection to have a properly skewed look to it rather than just looking like an upside down copy of the same image.  Any advice?

you can change the four corners of the image using the publically available distordimage class.  and you can use the displacementmap filter.  and flash cs4 has some native capabilities for 3d display.

  • Page-flip book on iWeb?

I am designing my own website using iWeb and I have been having problems finding a page-flip book that is iWeb compatible. If anyone knows of a page-flip program that I can use with iWeb, would you please let me know? This issue has been brought up on these forums before and I wonder what kind of success people have had. Also, if you would include a link where a page-flip book is currently being used on an iWeb designed website, that would be great. So far I haven't seen any. Thanks.

^^^ Thank you, Old Toad, for referring me to DecoImaging. Because of your help, I was able to use this program to make my own page-flip book and, with some effort, load it onto my iWeb page. Designing the book was the fairly easy part. The difficult part was that the html code that is generated in the program does not take to iWeb. A few changes needed to be made, namely the html code was changed to reflect the Flash files by adding "swf" to the code in iWeb. I could not figure this out myself and it took an html programmer to look at the code and make the changes. A note about DecoImaging too. It is a great program and it is the simplest, cleanest, and most realistic page-flip book I've seen. When you turn the pages, they don't turn too fast (like on many other books) and you can control how much curve too add in the middle of the book. No html knowlege is needed to make the book. Unfortunately, like most of these programs, there is no phone support. I must have sent dozens of emails to the only tech support person in the company. There is only one person to handle all email messages. If anyone decides to use DecoImaging to create your own flip-book, the onus is on you to be patient with the support you get from DecoImaging. In end, I got my page-flip book up on iWeb. This is what I was dreaming of all along. Here it is:

  • Updating Flash Player Does Not Reflect In Add-Ons Manager or Plug-In Check

The add-ons Manager shows I have Flashplayer version 11.3.300.265. The Plug-ins Check shows there is an update, and I downloaded and installed Flash Player version 11.3.300.268. Six times! Each time, the installation shows as successful on the Adobe site, but FF14 does not reflect the new version, and the Plug-in check continues to insist that the version is out of date.
I had no problems whatsoever updating to the latest Flashplayer version in IE (8). But FF is once again giving me trouble with this.
In addition, the add-ons manager shows a version of Flash 9.0.45.0, last updated Feb 20, 2007. There's a big red warning that it's out of date. This is in addition to Shockwave Flash (the correct one) and Shockwave for Director (which is current). It's been like this for awhile, and I disabled the antique version of Flash and it does not affect FF or Flashplayer performance.
I tried deleting my plug-ins database, but I just get all the same info when it is rebuilt. Any suggestions or solutions would be appreciated.

Such old version are usually located in the plugins folder in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).
You can enable the plugin and verify the path on the about:plugins page.
You can set the plugin.expose_full_path pref to true on the about:config page to see the full path of plugins on the about:plugins page.

    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/about:config
It is best not to leave that pref set to true as it exposes that full path to web servers, so reset that pref to false after you are done with the about:plugins page.

  • How to Eliminate Camera Flash Reflection in Photograph?

I"m using PSE 6.0.  In neither of the two instruction manuals that I use do they specifically address how to eliminate a camera flash reflection in the photo.  I'm sure there is a way to do it in PSE6.0, but I don't know where to look.  Can someone direct me?
    Thanks.

    Larry,
There is no information in the area of the flash reflection - it is completely blown out. The clone stamp tool will not yield a satisfactory result, as the details in the adjacent map area lack contrast, especially in this low resolution file.
    I experimented a bit -
I sampled the brown color next to the flash with the eye dropper tool
Created a new, blank layer at the top of the stack
Accessed the brush tool, selected the "Dry Media Brushes" library, used brush #60 (Soft Pastel Large) set at 25% opacity, then on the blank layer painted over area of flash. That does not look too bad, but it lacks the detail of the map
Perhaps you can print this, fill in the map by hand, then scan same.
Someone else may come along with another suggestion.

  • How to fix flash reflecting off of wall in background?

I'm trying to remove the flash bouncing off of the back wall of an image. When I try brushing over it and lowering its highlights / exposure it just turns a mucky grey. Not sure how to proceed. Help!

Flash reflecting off the background is one of those gotchas that is difficult to fix. For me, it's even difficult to do it in Photoshop. The real key is to use bounce flash, or angle yourself so that you're not shooting directly against the background. Easy to say after-the-fact, I know. I tried fixing a photo of my daughter and granddaughters that had a glaring reflection from the wall. I tried several different approaches that ended up looking worse than the reflection. But then, I'm not a real "high end" photo finisher when it comes to those types of problems.

  • Remove flash reflection in photo

    Hi,
I would like to print passport photos but the photo I would like to use has a slight flash reflection on the subject's forehead. If I adjust exposure, the whole photo turns darker (also my white background). The highlight brush also doesn't help very much. Any idea how I can get rid of the flash reflection?
I was also trying to make my background whiter. I couldn't figure out how to do that without making the subject's ears blur and whitish. Is there a way we can 'cut out' the subject and 'paste' it on a different background? If yes how do I 'cut out' the subject (including hair etc?).
    Tks, help is appreciated!

I'd just try the Repair or the Clone functions of the Retouch Brush after adjusting the exposure using the Exposure Brick. You can show blown areas by holding down {Control} while moving a slider. (Or just turn them on via "View→Highlight Hot and Cold Areas".)
You should read up on using the Recovery Slider -- this is the better way to recover what you can of blown highlights.
You can try the Burn Brush with edge detection on -- but in my experience it will take time to make the edge imperceptible.
You cannot cut out the subject and paste it onto another background. For that you'll need something called an alpha channel. All graphics programs (e.g.: Photoshop) do this. So does the iWork app Pages.
You can change the exposure in some parts of an image and not in others. This is done by brushing on and/or off either Levels or Curves.
The Highlights and Shadows Brick is good for showing detail in areas which are too dark or too light for us to see much detail. Note that it won't recover anything blown.

  • N82 flash problem: lens reflection

at first sight, I thought that the halo found on a picture with flash originated from a dust particle or something.
Sad to say I found more pictures with these "halo"-artefacts, that, upon closer inspection seem to originate from a reflection of the camera-lens itself.
Check the examples below for artefacts and lens reflections:
Anyone else found this on pictures with flash?
Lens itself is perfectly clean, no dust or scratches. There isn't a regular pattern, besides the fact that artefacts only occur with flash: sometimes one reflection, sometimes many, at random places.
Looking forward to your input on this

It's only happened to me once when I had a very small bit of dust on the lens. It gave the exact same effect.
Has your phone been anywhere humid or steamy like a kitchen or bathroom? You could have a tiny bit of condensation on the inside of the lens.
It's probably worth visiting a nokia care point and asking them to clean your lens, inside and outside.
