Reflections in the TV screen

Hi guys,
I am one that really likes to get information out of pics that we aren't meant to see, like what's in the reflection of this pic of a TV
I would like to see your results if you want to give it a go because i am crap at it, i am pretty sure there is someone with blonde hair taking the pic but i cant be absolutely sure.

I agree, for anyone who does work beyond email correspondence on their computer, particularly when dealing with fine details or black backgrounds, the reflection on the glossy screen is horrible.
I don't know if this is true, but I've been told that the gloss is an add-on. When you buy a new silver iMac over the phone from Apple, you can request a new iMac without the gloss. I don't know if this is true for either the iMac or the Macbook or if you can have it removed. It should be.
If it is true, Apple should make it an optional choice on the website as well.

UI Screen Configs not reflecting on the web

For doing screen configuration, when I click on the frame to configure, the system is picking up std key and not the custom key zpartman though zpartman key is there in the list. ( Note: Zpartman key is the one assigned to this role ). Therefore if I do config in zpartman key, it's not reflecting on the web. Please reply what could be the reason and the solution.

Hi TR
first access the standard and check the configuration info such as what is the configuration key , object and subobject .
Then access your custom configuration screen and check what it was looking for and what is it picked , change your custom configuration accordingly what it was looking for (by making changes to configuration key, object and sub object).
Check that you are accessing in the same client if not transport the request to other client using SCC1 transaction.

Unable to work because of reflection on the screen

I don`t know if anyone has this problem... but I an unable to see my screen clearly on a sunny day because the reflections. Wondering if there`s any other way out besides blocking out the sun

Is this the first laptop you've ever owned? I'm just asking because that's pretty much the nature of the beast. I was kind of worried about the glossy screen before I got my MacBook. My PowerBook would "wash out" and just look like a big blob of light and I figured the glossy would be much worse. But I have to say for the most part it's better if not much better than a "regular" LCD. The colors are richer and seem to hold themselves better before washing out.
But you're not going to get any LCD to look good or not glare in direct sunlight. Most of the time it's only a bit of side to side movement to find a spot that works though.

How MUCH does the glossy screen reflect?

When working on a MBP with glossy screen, can you see your own reflection, like a shadow of your face or something? If I wave on the front of the computer when the desktop is showing, do I see my hand waving on the screen? I know that when the computer is not on, it's a complete mirror. I certainly don't like it to be a mirror, but the depth of colors made the glossy screen interesting. If the glossy makes that much glare, I have to go for the matte, thanksfor the info.

The Dells and HP's are horrible and have a constant
reflection. The MBP, on the other hand, is deep and
rich in color. It does not reflect when you are
sitting in front of it; at an angle you do get some
reflection, but I really don't notice it because the
screen is that good. I have a number of Powerbooks
with the matte finish and I really prefer the glossy
screen. I must say the new matte screens are much
brighter and nicer than the old ones. Best thing to
do is to go by an Apple store and compare the screens
side by side.
Agreed... I'm using a new MBP C2D glossy right now. I work with HP's, Compaq's, Toshiba's, and Sony's all day - Apple's glossy screens are noticeably less reflective than all of them... usually HP's are the worst (almost like a mirror!)

Did you ever resolve this issue? I have an iPad with a similar problem. After a software update the screen went very dim. I have just finished trying to restore the iPad to the latest iOS 8.1.3. The display is still very dim. The backlight does change when you adjust the brightness slider but at maximum brightness it is just barely possible to see what is on the screen. What makes me think this is software related is, like you said, there are remnants of previous screen images overlaying the current screen. For example, when I restored the ipod, I enter DFU mode so the screen showed the "Connect to iTunes" images. After restoring and rebooting there is not change but the "Connect to iTunes" images are still showing up on top of the normal screens. Even if I power off the iPad and turn it back on that image still appears as if it is permanently burned into the LCD. There are more previous screen images appearing underneath the current screen as well (e.g., I can see the System Settings window faintly under whatever screen I'm currently on). Would like to know if your problem required a new logic board, new LCD, or if you were able to resolve it with software tricks. Please respond if possible.

Using local/testing server with cs5 inserting images look fine in the split screen but do not show

If I open example: header.php and insert any photo jpeg/.html ecs i can see the images in the split screen but not in the browser if i save then refresh. I am able to make any change to the code ecs. and they are reflected just fine. I have tried this with my fireworks images .html and when that did not work i tried a strait jpeg off the desktop. This all did not work. I have deleted the local server then step by step created a new one via devnet instruction. This did not work! everything looks fine i even tried in 3 sep browsers with 0 luck....There is no remote server connected at this time because i am making a child theme for my current site. After all changes are done we will the ftp the word press files to site and change.
Ps i even started over from scratch with 0 positive affects....

After a lot of pain!!!!!!! the issue is fixed lol After 3 weeks I have overlooked the obvious !!! so the simple fix was the path of the image. Yes i feel stupid 10 years in lol....
Apparently dreamweaver cs 5 will not use the full path when inserting images into the page example: If you drag the image out of your assets folder or however you do it, DW will give you a path like this <img src="images/glass.jpg" width="800" height="729"> This is not the full path and when your pist!!! you cant see things like that ;( so the image path should look like this:

What are the different model numbers for the glossy screen and the matte?

I just bought a 2.5 MBP from bestbuy and before I open it up I want to make sure I didn't get the glossy screen. Is there a way to tell from the box? It doesn't say glossy screen on it but I wasn't sure.
I am just switching over from having to use a PC for 15 years back to where I started using macs. What are the benefits of the glossy screen?

You may want to check out your local Apple store where both the glossy and matte screens are on display.
Glossy screens provide more vivid, vibrant colors and deeper, richer blacks. They're great for watching movies, viewing photos, etc.
Matte screens are good for use in high-sunlight environments or in situations where you have a lot of light shining on your screen. Many professional photographers opt for these screens because they more accurately reflect how a photo will look when printed. (Don't be confused -- photos look better on the glossy screen, but when you print them they'll look less vivid. Photographers don't like that because it makes it tough to anticipate how a photo will look when printed.)
Here's my two cents: I've spent 20 years on a matte screen. I used the glossy one for a day and you couldn't pay me to switch back. In my opinion, the glossy screen is fantastic.

Entries are not reflecting to the database in ABAP Dictionary....

i had maintained Table Maintenance Generator for a Custom Table in the ABAP data dictionary.
Inserted an extra button in the screen of SM30 for the same. i had written the logic for the extra button also.
the desired functionality is achieved but after clicking the custom button on the application bar of the SM30 the values are reflected on the screen table but not reflected or saved those entries into the Data Dictionary.
what might be the problem in this scenario....?
can you pls suggest me your experiences which had you come across this type of requirements.......?

Adding attributes in the selection screen

Hi Experts,
I had enhaced Account assign group field in the data source 0material_attr.Replicated and data is loaded .
It is reflecting in the query also.
Now i need to bring this attribute in the selection screen.
Can anyone tell me how to bring this attribute in the selection screen..

Hi Ganesh.
The communication structure of a characteristic is based on the characteristic structure/attributes. So to add anything to the comm.str. you have to do this in the maintenance of the characteristic as you did.
However it is not enough just to add it to the detail/navigational attributes tab. You have to turn the attribute navigational by pressing the navigational attribute on/off button!
Do you use 0MATERIAL directly as an infoprovider to the query? If not you will have to choose the AAG as navigational again in the infoprovider maintenance!
Now drag and drop the AAG in the query designer (you will see the navigational attributes as a normal characteristic - propably with tech.name 0MATERIAL__ZAAG). Now right click and choose "restrict" -> variables tab -> right click -> new variable -> create the variable -> add it to the selection and you are done.
Hope it helps - and don't forget that assigning points are the way to say thank you in SDN.

Want to add one more link in the first screen when user gets into EBP

Hi All,
I want to add one more link to the template WELCOME in Internet Service BBPGLOBAL. This is the first screen that the user gets when he logs into EBP.
The issue is the same screen is different in DEV and TEST environment.
I verified the code in the template in both systems but they are exactly the same.
Also, checked the Parameters in the Templates and they too match.
While going through the code, I found out that MENU_NODE_TAB is used in a repeat loop to verify user has access to the further links.
But the surprising thing is the code is same in both the systems, but Test evnironment is reflecting the link I want to add in DEV environment.
Am I missing something??
Pls let me know.

Settings you make in ACR for a Raw file are written to the separate XMP side car file. (The Camera Raw preferences has this set by default and to my opinion it should stay so, but the other option is to save them in a central database)
However, opening the same file in ACR and make new adjustments the previous settings are overwritten by the new ones. You can save them separately but that would be a hell of a job. If you want to be on the safe side you should make a proper back up of the whole folder (be sure to have the XMP files included, by default those are hidden files in Bridge) before someone else starts playing with the settings. However, you can always go back to the default version using the option in the little menu icon next to the name op f the panel (first panel is Basic). click on the icon and from the provided menu choose 'Reset Camera Raw Defaults' to go back to the originals.
I don't use jpeg in ACR very often but I believe ACR settings for jpeg and tiff are written in the XMP data in the file itself instead of a separate XMP file. You can revert to default or make new settings that also overwrite the older settings.
Making adjustments in ACR shows the results in Bridge (it uses the XMP data for the preview) but to make it visible in other apps you also have to save them in Photoshop itself to make the changes persistent so that mail and print reflect your settings.
So basically, let her play with the files and either chose the option to save the files (bottom left in ACR Window and choose the wanted provided options or open and save them in Photoshop to get the proper result. And if you want to be on the safe side let here use her own copies and keep the originals to your self.

How can we restrict the sub-screen input field for particluar country?

Hi all i am having infotype 21 maintained with custom fields for sub-screen 200.
Out of that custom fields(City , District) They restricted city field not to appear for australian employees.
and district is sucesfully appearing .
They have written logic in the sub-screen 200 in PBO.this is reflecting in alll sub-types of 21(alomst 20 subtypes)

Now the requirement is that this logic should be modified such that this city should appear in 7 sub-type instead of district.

Replacing the glossy screen with a 3rd party anti-glare or matte

I had my credit card ready to purchase 2 iMacs (finally rplacing our two G5's), until I realized that the anti-glare option with the 15" and 17" MBP would not be carried over to the iMacs. So I was wondering if anyone know of a third party with an option to replace the glossy screen with either a matte or an anti-glare screen. Would this void any warranty?

Let me first say, I'm a long-time, loyal Mac user (and defender). My first experience with Apple was in elementary school - on the Apple IIE. I created a game using DOS code in grade 5.
My father was a high school teacher and brought home a Mac Plus when I was in high school. The "Paint" program that it came installed with initiated my humble beginnings as digital designer - even on the small black and white screen, with it's limited capabilities, I could see the potential. We were always a Mac family. When my mother finally retired, I talked her into getting the same 24" white IMac I currently have, because that way I could walk her through the setting up and use of it, and now we can skype each other and it's like she's here in the room with me, not a whole province away.
I even had a Mac as a single mom struggling as a full time Communication Design student at Emily Carr University of Art and Design. My young daughter and I lived off my student loans, but they weren't enough to buy a Mac, so I asked my dad to co-sign a student line of credit so I could get a Mac to be compatible with the computers at school. This was the only way I could take my homework home and work while my daughter slept. I sacrificed a lot to have a Mac. We sacrificed.
Skip ahead about a decade, I have my own small graphic design business, I currently have 3 Mac computers: I have a 24" white Imac as my main business tool; I have a titanium laptop for meetings and presentations, and a white Macbook laptop that my high school-aged daughter uses for school and socializing.
I am now at the point in my growing business that it is finally time to upgrade all of my equipment. I've been excitedly holding out for the newest Imac release. I went in to our local BestBuy a few weeks ago to buy my new 27" fully loaded Imac (hey I've worked hard, why not splurge a little?) As I walked up to the Mac display and finally laid eyes on my long awaited dream machine, all I could see was the shocked and betrayed look on my face reflected in the shiny surface of the screen. I nearly cried, I was so disappointed. All I could think was "How could you? "
What is the point of having the shiny screen? I feel so betrayed, so foolish, for sticking with Apple through thick and thin for nearly a quarter of a century. I have invested thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars in Apple products, peripherals, and MAC compatible software for all of my Macs. Adobe CS3, Microsoft Office, 3rd party applications, Mac compatible fonts, and even games. I have purchased protection plans, extra RAM, home insurance and back-up devices for my Macs. I was invested in you, Apple. So what now? Will my hard earned savings now go toward buying the new PC software needed to convert my business to PCs?
The graphics industry, for a large part, has kept Apple going all these years. We have paid the premium for our Apples, and we have just been stabbed in the back by Apple. On behalf of the entire graphic design community in North America, Apple, please offer us a matte screen option on all your new computers.

Application launch failed. Ensure that the device screen is unlocked - after the phone update

I have the following error "

I'm pretty sure it happened after the last update. I was able to use my phone as a dev one before
and my account shows it as a registered device.
The OS version is 7.10.8107.79.
The steps that I tired
-Registered again my phone with the registration tool
-Check the issue with Zune auto-launcher (zune isn't syncing and the phone is connected)
-Close and start everything again
Other possible issues
- Do I have to have sdk 7.1 to deploy?
- Do I have to wait 24h for registration?

You should be using SDK 7.1 anyway, so install that.
After the update, the phone may have locked itself. This may not be reflected in your AppHub account though. Using the Developer Registration Tool, register the device, unregister it, then register it again.
