Refresh a Report in Web Template

Hi
Can we refresh a particular report ( Data Provider) without pop of variable screen again using already selected variable values once you have logged into the Web Application. Our users want to just want to refresh a report with refresh button to varify the changed data.

URGENT!! Reporting Agent Web Template not filtering data on dataproviders

I am having problems with Reporting Agent web template settings. I have a query that uses a pre-query for MANAGER. I also have a query view for this query (I also tried using just the query in the web template). I created a reporting agent setting on the web template and used the pre-query as the control query. I have 80 MANAGER's, so I expect 80 dataproviders with each dataprovider having the data for 1 MANAGER. I get the 80 dataproviders, but each dataprovider has data for all 80 MANAGERs.
The dataproviders are then emailed using an ABAP program.
I would use Information Broadcaster, but the managers are not necessarily BW users and the manager list is fluent, so I don't want to create a separate setting for each manager.
We are on BW 3.5 SP18.

Query designer report and Web Templates

Dear All,
I have a very basic/stup doubt.
Are reports made through Bex Query Designer and Web Templates the same?
Actually there is a following requirement:-
"Navigate from a BW Web template to a PCUI application". I have a document related to it but it gives me step on how can i modify my web templates to achieve this functionality. But all my reports are made through query designer and it available to user through Web Dynpro portal.
So i just wanted to know is Web Template and Reports made through query designer the same? So that i can implement the changes in my report.

by using web templates we can use N number of data providers (Queries) for a single analysis view with various available options. - N number of Queries can be assigned to Web template to create a web report
but by using the Query designer ,you can create a single report which may not provide sufficient information to the client and the number of features are less compared to web template.
as you mentioned that you are using the web dynpro.
i think the web dynpro requires the web reports as an iview and ths iview can be created by using the Query designer and or web app designer.
so the most clear view can be given to client using the WAD reports

Document upload in BW report or web template

Hi all,
Is it possible to upload a document in word, excel etc format in the BW report / WAD ?
I am not referring to administrative workbench document.
I am on version 3.5.
I am under impression it's a standard functionality for netweaver 2000s Bex.

You can upload your document to MIME Repository and then give a link to this document from your web template.
Path where you can upload ur document:
SE80 -> MIME REPOSITORY -> PUBLIC -> BW -> CUSTOMER-SPECIFIC MIME OBJECTS.
This code for link in webtemplate will take to the document you uploaded earlier.

Report/Query/Web Template Listing - Catalog

Hi all,
We are NW2004S SP10 and would like to know if anyone has implemented a report catalog that lists all the custom reports/queries created by functional area?
We could search the Metadata repository, but it is not organized well.
Also I have looked at an article in BWExpert - which is for BW3.5 and also requires manual maintainence.
Any ideas/thoughts in this regard will be appreciated.

I have similar issues related to the below threads. I'm able to retrieve the statistics for queries executed in BEx but not for the queries or BEx Web templates executed through the portal. Are there any workarounds for this issue?

Reporting Agent Web Templates. I'm missing previous precalculated data.

Hello Gurus. I'm precalculating a web template that has variables, so the customizing has variants for the variable values. The web template shows weekly information and the user needs to see historic reports, from previous weeks.
But when a run the planification package I lost the previous precalculated web templates. The only way I have found to obtain the reports for various weeks has been creating a variant for each week. But the users needs to consult a complete year, 52 weeks, so 52 variants!!
How can I create new static data for the reports without missing the old data?

Hi Mallikarujun,
Try selecting the values using show values for particular column in Universe.
If that is fine and you are using SQL Server then the query is returning more that 2147483647 which is the limit for the return count by SQL Server (4 Bytes).
There may be issue in join condition, if not try applying filter in query

Hello,
I tried to create a Web-Template (WAD). By executing the report, I get the selection screnn, but by confirming the selection I get the following message:
Web Item Report Error
Web template error in specifications for the Web item report
Parameter REPORT for the Report Web item in the Web template is empty or missing
Use the BEx Web Application Designer to add parameter REPORT to the report Web item in the Web template, and assign a report name to the parameter
Contact your system administrator. This error was recorded
What can I do to solve this error?

As DP_1 Type Query_view_Data_provider, I have assinged a Query Designer Query wich works fine, if I execute it as QDR.
The entry Query_view_Data_provider makes sense for me, but what do I need to maintain for the type "Filter"?

Can not display BI report in Web ui

I created reporting profile with both bi and interactive reporting active and assigned to the business role functional profile
I gave the BI connection client in the report that I wanted. When I select the report in webu ui, it's taking me to a sign on pad. I assume this for BI sign on pad and When i enter sign on, it's not taking me any where.
This just a standard report in CRM My top 5 quotations. All necessary steps in basic bi connection, basic sales analytics are done too
How does the the connection between BI and crm works?

We are using Webiu 2007 with BI 7.
We linked our sandbox to RWT system to test the report output. In my CRS, I have source system RWT defined and the same way in BI also we have assigned CRS to link these systems together. It is my understanding that when we select the report, we are just calling the from BI into CRM. I have done the following steps in CRM
1) Created reporting profile in CRM analytics as both BI and CRM interactive reporting activated
2) Assigned this reporting profile to business role
3) I selected My-Top-5 quotation report and gave the BI system in display bi reports
4) I can see the report on webui.
Problem: When I selected the report, a logon pad appears and I enter RWT user id and password, it's doing nothing. But, I have another user who is logging in for the first time got an error "Error loading template "OTPLB_OCRM_QUTO_Q0001_1 notification number BRAIN276". When the same new user tried to login second or third time, it's not showing the error and nothing is happening when we enter userid and pass word. But, we can logon to GUI RWT.
We tried to pull a query view report and web template reports see if we can display data. The BI team gave me couple of info objects keys.
1) I created the report with object key and type as one for 3.x template and one for 3.x query view
2) Created logical links for these two reports and selected these two reports in business role. Now the reports are showing in webui
3) When I select any of these, it taking to a blank screen without any logon screen.
BW team says that these reports are running with data in their system.
Can someone please help?

BEx WAD - How to pass filter values to another Web template

Hi,
I have a scenario here...
Web Template 1:
- Filter options, Filter on Characteristics
- Button, this button calls Template 2 sending the parameters selected vía URL to filter the report.
Web Template 2:
- Tables and graphs
Values selected in the Filter of Template 1 and using javascript it should generates a URL, which filters the second template i.e. Web Template 2.
Can anyone please share javascript to achieve this...

I tried this and could not get it to work. so if you find away through Java script then I would be very interested.
There is an option called TRANSFER_STATE which supposedly lets you pass variable names in this scenario but I could not get it to work.
In the end I created one template with all graphs etc. When you click the button to show the other template all tables and graphs in template 2 are shown and everything from web template 1 is hidden. This worked fine.

Use web template to open a report from a menu

Hi all,
I have created one web template where I have a role menu that shows all reports that are available to the user. When the user clicks on one of these reports, the report displays in a new window. So far everything is working fine.
But, I have also created another web template and I want the report that is displayed in a new window to use this template. How do I do this? I have been looking at the settings for the Role menu, but can't find anywhere to put the template name...
Anyone have any ideas?

Hello,
yes you can use the publish function, but only to add new entries.
In Transaction pfcg (not in WAD or BEx) in SAP GUI and then select your role at the tab "Menu" you can add/remove/maintain/organize your menu.
just click on a menu entry and take sth.like edit.
Then you will see a link if you didn#t find the string &template_id= the system will take the standard template (Tranaction spro), and you can easily add or change this parameter.

hi all,
         I m working on a Upgrade study from BW 3.5 to BI 7.0 for Web Templates,web items and java scripts.
Below is the scenario of the client system:
New web templates are created from the 6 master web templates available for publishing to a custom Portal (created using BSP and hosted on the WAS). TOOLBAR and FOOTER are custom web templates used in all Master Templates and contain various JavaScript functions and footer code respectively.
TOOLBAR provides the Toolbar, header and buttons functionalities in the Master Templates via the contained Javascript functions. FOOTER displays the date and time of issue as well the logged in user.
FOOTER1 and FOOTER2 are web items derived from FOOTER web template. They have different set of web item properties and are used to create web templates used through the custom Portal.
It is observed from BW Tables that out of 100 unique Web Templates available in the system, 90 are using TOOLBAR template and 95 are using FOOTER template.
No external Javascript .js files are used in the Web templates. Most of the Javascript functionality is contained in TOOLBAR and no other custom javascript in master templates. However, there are some derived web templates where custom javascript is contained.
Following is the process to create custom Web Templates in development server that are eventually transported to QA and Production:
1)     The appropriate master template is identified and saved with new name in developer role.
2)     Dataprovider is added to corresponding web items.
3)     From the library, properties are transferred from master template to the custom template.
4)     Report title is added in HTML tab.
5)     No changes are needed in the Web Templates Properties except change of value in Show Jump Target in field to the portal Frame ConPortal or _self in case RRI is to be used.
6)     Some properties like Title, Width in Pixel, Affected Data Provider, etc. needs to be adjusted. Changes can be done to web items seen in Overview tab except the FOOTER and TOOLBAR web items. These web items are saved as reusable components in Library.
7)     After all the changes the web template created is transported from development server.
To summarize, all master data for creation of web templates like reusable master templates, web items in library, web templates containing Javascript code are stored in dev. server. Custom web templates created from these are transported.
I want to validate the sequence of migration as below:
Following sequence has to be followed for the Web Templates and Queries Migration in development BI 7.0 Server:
1)     Migrate the Individual BEx Queries first and perform functional testing.
2)     Migrate the TOOLBAR template manually (create as new in BI 7.0 Toolset) and FOOTER template automatically (using Migration Tool).
3)     Manually migrate the JavaScript code in TOOLBAR. Please refer to section ..for more details.
4)     Migrate the library of reusable web items, if any.
      (What to do if web item is custom or is not supported in BI 7.0)
5)     Migrate the Master Web Templates manually (create as new in BI 7.0 Toolset) and automatically (wherever possible) and perform functional testing.
6)     Migrate the custom web templates automatically (wherever possible) and manually, if automatic migration is not possible. Perform functional testing and data provider binding.
7)     Perform jump target binding wherever applicable.
8)     Transport custom templates, TOOLBAR and FOOTER to QA and Production subsequently.
Also i have the following questions:
1. How to migrate functionalities accessed thru web templates like jump queries, general navigation blocks with filter, table interface, and are data providers automatically linked to web items or have to be done manually post migration.
2. Do we need to migrate the library of reusable web items also.
3. After migrating the master web templates and javascript containing templates to BI 7.0, can we migrate automatically the custom webtemplates derived from master templates and containing the custom javascript that is now avaialbe in BI 7.0, will they pick up the custom code automatically.

How to call a BW WEB template from R/3 and pass parameters to the report

Is it possible to call a BW web template from an R/3 system, through an abap program?
I have a BW WEB report template. This works very good, and i have 3 variables in the query.
Now, i need to invoke the BW web template from inside of an abap in R/3..
And i want to pass 3 variables from the R/3 ABAP to the BW WEB TEMPLATE.....
Is possible to call BW web templates from R/3??

How can i pass the parameters to the web template???
another issue: My WAS (Web Application Server 6.20) is not public, is currently working for a local area network.
The access to this report is from outside of the office, so we need to access this through the PORTAL.
