Refresh doesn't... refresh

I have an instance of Configurator (the most recent update) running on my mac mini.  I'm able to prepare devices and supervise just fine, but the only way I can remove a user's data from an iPad (i.e., logins to accounts in an app, any iCloud log in, etc.) is to do a restore to a backup.  I thought "refresh" was supposed to remove this type of information.  Am I wrong, or is there a problem with my Configurator setup that I should be looking at?

Hi ipads4patrons,
You are correct in that you have to restore a backup to wipe user data from an iPad. In Apple Configurator, the "refresh" will update any new apps or configuration profiles that you changed since the last time it was refreshed. If you have AC set to restore a backup, then refreshing will wipe the device (including user data) and restore the apps and configuration profiles that you have selected.
If you want to have multiple users assigned to an iPad and have them each maintain their own data, you may want to take a look at AC's "Assign" feature. See page 20 in the iOS deployment guide: http://images.apple.com/education/docs/ios_6_education_deployment_guide.pdf

    Headteacher isn't happy that for some reason Safari  will not open images at the top of this website unless I hit CMD R. Doesn't work with the normal refresh/reload button. It works fine in Chrome and Firefox.

    Clearing out cache files etc have no effect even using a 'through cleansing' software such as Washing Machine.
    Any advice much appreciated before the headteacher changes to another company to update the school website.

  • The detail part of table doesn't refresh after deleting a row

    Hello!
    I'm developing a Master-Detail table with some a functionality. Particularly, I want to invoke a DELETE function in the Detail part of the table.
    For this purpose, I placed a Command button to the tableSelectOne component of the Detail part of the table, which stores current row key and calls another page. On this (<another>) page I created a ReadOnly form with data related to the row of Detail table, which key is stored. In addition, I added there two Command buttons. First of them is a CancelButton, which does nothing except returning to master-detail page. The second is a DeleteButton, which executes a RemoveEntity method and returns to master-detail page, too.
    When I'm tried to delete in this way a row from detail part of table, I discovered, that this row is really deleted from the database, but it doesn't affect on the content of the Detail part of the table. Any kinds of refreshing couldn't aid me, only restart of the application.
    Could anybody help me to solve this problem?

    I'm facing the same problem but Frank's solution doesn't fix it.
    you need to define an invoke action in the binding
    for your m/d page and set it into the page binding's
    execute section. Then set the condition for invoking
    the action to !postback. This will re-execute the
    iteratorThis efectively re-executes the iterator, so the master table data is refreshed. You can see the TopLink log showing the query to the db (I'm using TopLink instead of BC). The problem is that the detail rows are queried only once and only the inserts and updates are displayed, not the deletes.
    I think the problem may be related to PPR or some cache issue.

    The only solution I can think of is using a different model method (a method in the SessionFacade for TopLink) for the detail table (one that takes the master PK as parameter and retrieves the corresponding detail records) and have a selectionListener in the selection component of the master re-execute the method (passing the PK from the master table current row).
    Is there a solution that doesn't require the use of a separate method for the detail?

  • Disk Utility doesn't refresh when inserting new DVDs

    I'm in the process of copying a few DVDs by making an image of them first and then burning the image onto a blank DVD through Disk Utility.
    After I'm done with one and insert a new DVD to copy, Disk Utility doesn't refresh to show me the new disk is in the drive. Is it normal?
    If it is, is there something I can press so that Disk Utility manually refresh its listing of drives?
    I find that quitting and restarting Disk Utility just to make a new image is so inefficient.

    I am suddenly having the same problem. When I insert a blank disc either cd or dvd it does not show up in the left column in disc utility. I have tried closing and then relaunching disc utility but nothing. The disc shows up on my desk top but not in disc utility. I fear this is a Snow Leopard problem. Toast has no problem recognizing the disc and burning to it.

    I am facing exactly the problem Tony had:
    - Embedded a Word document as linked OLE object into a crystal report and stored it to Enterprise repository.
    - When opening the report with CR Developer from my workstation, changes in the .doc file are reflected, the report is updated
    - However when displaying and refreshing the report on the BO Server via InfoView changes aren't reflected.
    The OLE link is set to update automatically (under menu edit -> links)
    I tried to store the report to the enterprise repository with and without data. Yet no difference and no update in either case.
    Neither scheduling nor opening and refreshing the report in InfoView helps.
    So what am I doing wrong?
    - On our BO server we have not installed Crystal Reports Developer. Is this a prerequisite for the OLE links to update?
    - And Tony wrote that he could resolve this by changing the logged on user with CR Job Server. Where and how would I change this user?
    - Any other suggestions?

  • The administration console doesn't refresh

    Hello,
    I used WebCenter Portal Administration Console (http://<server>:<port>/<context_root>/admin to delete a page at runtime.
    Then I added new pages in the page hierarchy in my portal application, which I would like to see in the admin console too, but it seems they don't show up
    I mention that the admin console looks fine on my integrated environment but on the managed server it doesn't refresh.
    How the admin console should be refreshed to reflect the latest changes?

    Yes, your understanding is correct. I added the pages in the pages folder in JDeveloper (11.1.1.4) and then added them to the page hierarchy.

    I can see all the pages in the IWLS admin but in WLS admin I can see only the "home" page.
    Previously I deleted "ipc", "google" and "services" from WLS admin and I cannot see them again after a new deployment.
    I can add new pages in WLS admin without any problem.
    For IWLS, although I deleted the same pages in admin console, after a new deployment all the pages are shown.
    I guess it is the setting "delete customization before each run" in JDeveloper which allows the refresh of the IWLS admin console too.
    The question is what is the equivalant for WLS? Do I need to "clean" the customization?

    I have run the sample code that you have sent....but I could see no problem I could see the combobox being refreshed when the button being clicked.
    However it is always safer to remove all the elements in the ArrayCollection using the removeAll() method before assigning the new values.

    2 Environments tested with same results:

    BOE XI 3.1 SP2 & BOE XI 3.1 SP2 FP2.5<br>
    SAP Intg Kit on mirrored SP/FP levels in each environment.
    <p>
    We've been successfully creating Crystal Reports against BEx queries in BW for months now as well as ECC master data.  We've also built universes and have WebI reports actively working against similar BEx queries in the same.  However, we're getting some curious behavior when we refresh the Crystal Reports against BEx queries in BW.  Verified all necessary transports and authorizations have been provided for both authoring, as well as refreshing/viewing on demand, etc.
    <p>
    We've setup all the Crystal Reports we're testing to:
    <p>
    a) Use custom database logon information specified here.<br>
    b) Specify a custom driver, leveraging the crdb_bwmdx driver<br>
    c) Prompt the user for database login
    <p>
    We have not enabled SNC as of yet.
    <p>
    1) When we refresh a WebI report hitting a BEx query with security applied, it doesn't prompt for the credentials, but we confirmed through tracing on the SAP side that if the user hits a paramater it has access to, the data comes through and when we hit a paramater they do not have access to, we can clearly see SAP reject it and it spits out a logical error on the BO side in InfoView and in the WebI logs on the BO server. 
    <p>
    2) When we refresh a Crystal Report hitting ECC data, we are prompted for the SAP credentials and everything works as expected
    <p>
    However:
    <p>
    3) When we refresh a Crystal Report hitting a BEx query in BW, we are not promtped for SAP credentials.  We immediately get the "LOV" prompts.  Now, if we use a test user in SAP that has NO SECURITY restrictions at all and open access to the query, the data comes through.  However, as soon as any security is applied to the query level, even if it is SAP ALL, we cannot retrieve the data.  Tracing is also strange, as we can see on the SAP side it buffer the selected paramaters, but unlike with the WebI reports, it never shows it reaching the point where it checks each paramater against what the role has access to.  An error is then spit back.  We run the same queries with the same users within SAP and get normal behavior.  It's as though as soon as we apply security to the query the mdx driver doesn't like it.  Dependant on the type of InfoView viewer we use, the errors we consistently get on the BO side are:

    Interactive Viewer: "Error in File %reportname%: Encapsulating Page Failed"<br>
    Java Viewer:  "Error in File %reportname%: Database Connection Error"

    Nothing glaring in the event logs on the BO servers or in the Crystal logs that I can see, however just because it isn't spitting a specific error in the crystal logs doesn't mean I'm not missing something because I don't know what to look for behavior wise. To reduce the liklihood that it has to do with the way the report was built, we've tried against the same query by building a report using standard methods, as well as the SAP Toolbar using a very plain jane report.  Same behavior.

  • Bug: The message list doesn't refresh SOLVED caused by HWA (hardware assist)

    I am using the latest Thunderbird from the beta channel, v38. I was seeing this in the stable release channel as well, so I thought I'd try the beta channel to see if it was fixed there, but it was not.
    The issue is that the message list doesn't refresh all the time when switching folders. If I an in my Inbox folder, for example, and then select my Junk folder, the message list will not update/refresh, until I drag my mouse over the message list. Then, it will refresh line-by-line as the mouse enters each line.
    I am on Windows 7 64-bit, with an i5 processor and 8 GB RAM. Nothing else on my system is running slow. This will happen when Thunderbird is the only app running. I also have a skin applied to my UI. I've tried a few different skins, and this behavior happens with all of them.
    A second issue I noticed this morning was that when I received a new email, the entire app seemed to freeze momentarily while the notification for this new email was spawned. As soon as the notification became visible, the app because responsive again. Perhaps a threading issue here.

    Yes, it is intermittent for me as well. I just recalled that the last time I saw it was when I changed folders. It may not be limited to that situation.

  • ICal doesn't subscribe to timed events and doesn't refresh

    In our office we each have a calendar which each person publishes on .Mac, and which others in the office subscribe to. We're experiencing the following problems:
    -- "Refresh all" on some machines doesn't refresh calendars; each must be refreshed individually;
    -- On some machines, all-day events appear, but timed events do not
    -- In some cases calendars won't refresh properly; they display old information and don't update, even when manually refreshed. The calendar must be deleted and re-subscribed to on the subscribing machine. Sometimes even this doesn't work and has to be done repeatedly before the calendar is up to date.
    We have a mix of iBooks, iMacs (from G4 to Intel), MacBook, PowerBook, and G5; running OS X 10.3 through 10.4. Could the mix of OS versions be the problem? Or should we use another server than .Mac to publish/subscribe to?

    It probably means that you do not have "Calendars" selected in iPhone>Settings>iCloud.

           We recently refreshed our QAS system and from then on we are having a strange problem .
    The issue is whenever I create a billing document ,it gives me a document number ,but when I try to view this in Vf02/03 it says "Document doesn't exists"
    when I checked the dump in ST22 , it says "A RAISE statement in the program ( Z print program for Invoice)raised the exception  condition "FILE OPEN ERROR".
    I went and changed the  Dispatch time to "Send with periodically scheduled job or Send with application own transaction " and it works . But Whenever the dispatch time is "Send immediately" it fails and throws a dump.
    Have anyone come across this error .We are getting this problem everytime after refresh .

    Since the error message occurs in your custom (Z...) program, you will have to talk to your ABAP developers about that. My guess is that file name or path is stored in some table, which is probably wiped out or updated with Production data during the refresh. Then, when the program cannot find the file (because QA doesn't have access to PRD file server, for example) or doesn't have access to the specified location, it throws an error.
    This is not an SD question and I seriously doubt anyone in this forum will be able to answer.

  • Eigrp routes doesn't refresh when neighbor down

    hi guys, need some tips for troubleshooting an ongoing issue, but can't do the changes anymore untill next call and yes the issue is still ongoing.

    I have 3 metro ethernet switches and a c3560v2 switch connected as above. The WAN1 redistributes all routes to ME-3600X-A's eigrp and WAN2 redistributes all routes to c3560v2 's eigrp and these two propagates all their eigrp routes to ME-3600X-B and ME-3600X-C  which are in the same eigrp AS. And all link/connections are point-to-point.
    Now, when the link between ME-3600X-B  <----> ME-3600X-C is physically disconnected, the ME-3600X-C's eigrp still points the route(s) to the ME-3600X-B's p2p ip as its next-hop - which is down(neighborship between them goes down, but still the routes doesn't refresh/rebuild). However, switch c3560v2 has route to the same network learnt from WAN2.
    Wonder why, need inputs please? Thanks.

  • QuickTime movies cannot display properly, refresh doesn't work propely for html files on hard disk, opening a new tab doesn't work

    I have tried Firefox V4 (but have since reused V3.6.16). The following problems were found:
    a. Cannot display the controls used for QuickTime movies.
    b. The refresh button doesn't function at all if the html files reside on the hard disk. I do this because I need to test the appearance of the web page before uploading to the server.
    This problem also exists for v3.6.14 to v3.6.16
    c. When opening a new tab, it doesn't work. Instead, it will open another instance of the browser. By right, it has to open the web page on the same instance of the browser.

    I had some advice to try recording QT audio and adding to the slide.  Now, when recording to Quicktime, it does embed it, but in recording the presentation, it either doubles up the audio giving a strange echo or does the same thing if you ever edit the presentation.
    The problem Keynote has is that the sound and image content are not locked together which causes out of sync errors. This is why many users choose video editing applications when using sound in the presentations, as they have both image and audio tracks to sync sound properly together.
    Start a new presentation to remove the previous sound recording, Keynote is holding onto the other sound files.
    Add the graphic items to each slide and one sound file to each slide for the voice over
    1 - In Inspector > Transitions;  use start transitions automatically and set each transitions delay to the duration of the individual sound file.
    2 - In QT export, set Fixed Timing and delete the value in the duration box, QT will then use the custom timings for each individual slide.
    This procedure does work exactly as needed, Iv used this for nearly 6 years using 4 different versions of Keynote.
