Refresh rate of the screen?

What is the refresh rate of the screen on the iMac?

I think the other poster was meaning what is the response time of the LCD in milliseconds.
A note about response times, they are generally bogus when it comes to picture quality because they are measured differently by each manufacturer. The general use of the LCD needs to be taken into consideration. I have had no issues with ghosting in movies or anything I have done, but I don't do extreme gaming either. The response time is good enough for about anything a person might do with the computer, this shouldn't be a deciding factor on whether or not to purchase the machine.

What is the defaults refresh rate of the Mac book pro 15inch? and how can I change it?

I don't believe there is a refresh rate for LCD or LED monitors. Refresh rate is something that is used for old style CRTs if i'm not mistaken.

  • IPad Air display refresh rate for full screen movies?

What exactly happens if I play a movie on the iPad full screen with a rate of e.g. 24p, 25p or 50i?
The stated maximal refresh rate is 60Hz.
Will this rate be reduced when playing movies?
Or will frames be dropped / interpolated if the frame rate and the refresh rate don't match?
Or will the movie be sped up / slowed down?
When using the HDMI adapter, I can see that it always outputs 60p, regardless of the movie frame rate. But maybe this is different on the internal panel.
    Thanks for any insight!

Should it happen again double tap the screen with three fingers. Then go to settings> general> accessibility> zoom> off.

  • W540 - Get 75Mz Refresh rates on 3k screen?

The W540 with a K2100 and a 3k screen has a maximum refresh rate of 60Mz. It is not currently possible to lower the screen resolution and get a higher refresh rate of 75 or higher.
If I got to Screen Resolution > Monitor Properties > Display All Modes, they are all 60Mz even when the screen is tiny. Intel's advance feature to create a custom resolution is also disabled.
I've tried some Custom Resolution softwares, but it just made my system crash.
Are there ways around this or potential software updates that could change this?

I don't think there are any mainstream 75Hz LCDs; just a boatload of 60Hz LCDs and a small percentage of 120Hz ones.
You can't "unlock" 75Hz on an LCD that doesn't support driving it that fast, unlike CRTs, where the bottleneck was available bandwidth.

  • HT202856 What resolutions and refresh rates does the MacBook Pro support?

Why does this article provide lots of useful information EXCEPT the piece I want?  It does not show what resolutions and refresh rates the MacBook Pro supports over Displayport:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6008
I've heard it only supports 4k at 30 Hz.  Is this true?

For some reason Displays no longer shows that information, so I don't know what it is. However, the last time I saw the information on a 2009 MBP it was 75.
I'd think there is a utility around that might provide the info like Display Maestro 1.1.7 or SwitchResX.

  • What refresh rates does the Macbook Pro 2011 support? (Internal Display)

While I know you used to be able to change the refresh rate via General Settings, now you have to use an app or probably something terminal related.
Ignoring this, I just got a new 2011 MBP when my old one couldn't be fixed and after having the display/resolution upgraded I noticed that, when scrolling webpages, there is a bit of... I dunno, ghosting or something? Nothing that indicates there is a problem with the display or card, but it's something that could probably be fixed by a stronger refresh rate.
So my question is as the subject states. What is supported? I read 60 and 75 is typical for Apple, but I want confirmation. Remember, internal display, not external.
    Thanks!

  • Boot Screen Refresh rate

    Hi all
I just installed a new Xserve on my network, and i'm having a problem with the refresh rate on the boot screen. No matter what I do, it wants to use 85hz, which I know the LCD cannot handle. There must be a way to force 60hz on the boot screen. I tried the instructions at:
    http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/TipsAndTricks#
    Messingwith_the_bootoptions
But it seems to ignore the @60 I put in.
When I use a regular screen, it comes up at 800x600 at 85hz.
    Thanks!

No one has any ideas on this? Still haven't been able to find a solution...

  • Setting the refresh rate on B1 dashboards

    Hello,
is there any way to modify the refresh rate for the standard SAP B1 dashboards that come with PL12?
any idea what the default refresh rate is?
    thanks, dan

    Hi Dan,
Currently, there is no refresh rate setting for dashboard in PL12. You could request it in the SBO product development collaboration forum.
I think it is because the report is for dashboard SAP B1. Dashboard is management report and is not daily operational report. No need to use refresh rate.  Probably, when run it in the excelcius, you can set it. I am not sure but you may check it

  • How Can I change my refresh rate to 75hz for on LCD using 91.47 drivers?

    HI,
I use a 19" LCD and have always changed my refresh rate to 75hz to avoid ghosting in games like fifa 06 (60hz causes a nasty ghost on my 8ms panel).  I have been using the 81.98 drivers and could create an override to use 75.   The new driver will allow me to change the refresh rate to 75, but will not let me use it - I get the message "The custom resolution cannot be added".   I have coolbits2 installed.  Is there a registry setting that I can add to allow me to change the refresh rate?  If not, I'll just go back to the 81.98.  I am also using the DVI connection.
    Thank you,
    * This is on my Sli PC in my sig. *

I know that on my particular LCD monitor, if I go above the recommended rates, then the screen will just go black and won't let me see anything.  Usually it displays a message telling me that it cannot display.  I think it especially does this with the DVI connection.
You may have tried it allready, but just make sure that in your display properties you have unchecked the option to only display resolutions allowed by the monitor.
You may also want to try and see if it will let you do it with a VGA connection instead of the DVI.
Otherwise, you just may have to go back to the earlier driver.

  • Quicktime Video on an LCD Projector Problems & Refresh Rate?

I'm having an issue and don't have a lot of experience with this but hopefully someone has some insight.
When i play back video (formats including DV, DV50, HDV, PRORES422 / interlaced or progressive / frame rates of 23.98 or 29.97) in full screen using Quicktime Player (version 7.4.5) and Present (Shift CMD F) to a projector, the video plays and looks good, with the exception of during certain portions of the video (generally, with a lot of motion), i see either a flicker or what appears to be a scan line, tear, or a trace that scrolls vertically up the image. The flickering/trace is consistent with regard to a particular portion of the video, though when i adjust the refresh rate for the projector, the behavior of the flicker or scrolling trace changes (say at 60hz, it scrolls slowly up vs 85hz where i see mostly flickering/tearing of the image or multiple traces scrolling up). I've tried 3 different projectors, and every combination of screen resolution and refresh rate with no success.
I should point out that when i play these videos full screen on a cinema display (20in or 23in) i don't see this behavior at all.
So, i have a few specific questions:
    1. Is anyone familiar with this behavior and any solutions?
    2. The projector is connected with a VGA cable and DVI adapter. Might a DVI cable resolve the issue? Is the behavior a result of the analog input? (The cinema displays are connected via DVI and don't exhibit the behavior)
    3. If it is a projector issue, any recommendations on a good projector for presenting video played back from a computer?
Thanks in advance for your help. If i've posted in the incorrect forum, please do direct me to the right place.
    Shane

Just a fast reply... something to think about...
Use 60hz, most lcd are 60hz. Check you resolution specs for the projector. If the native resolution is 800x600 use that setting if higher use that.....
If your using the lcd as a secondary display try setting the main display to the same specs. Sometime a mismatch between the two displays can cause problems.
Go with the lcd spec settings that's the main priority and the main display isn't.

  • 24" iMac refresh rate

I am having all those horrible problem with battlefield 2142 that everyone else is having, but i just found the file that has all the configurations for the game, such as the screen resolutions. My normal resolution is at 1920x1200, but the game resolution is stuck at 1024x800 @ 60hz. i tried to enter the larger resolutions including 1920x1200 but the game just crashes. SO thinking about it i think i have the wrong refresh rate. i went through system preferences and at the refresh rate says "n/a" as seen here....
i also checked system profiler... nothing....
that being said does anyone know the refresh rates for the reolutions of the 24" iMac?
the help would be greatly appreciated by many including myself x100....

I suspect that 'refresh rate' is only applicable to CRT monitors: my flat-panel iMac has it greyed out as well.
Not sure if the lack of refresh rate selection is normal for an iMac, but I can defnitely select the refresh for my 17" LCD monitor.
It seems more likely that the game simply won't work at higher than 1024x800 - particularly as 1920x1200 is a widescreen format and the game very likely wants a 4x3 format. Try setting your monitor to 1024x768
Some games will refuse to run at resolutions lower than 1024x768 or 800x600, but I've never heard of a game that would refuse to be set at a higher resolution…

  • Setting refresh rate with DisplayMode

I'm having a problems setting the refresh rate of the DisplayMode, originally I used this method to create a display mode:
DisplayMode(320, 240, 16, DisplayMode.REFRESH_RATE_UNKNOWN);This worked fine and ran my game at the above resolution, however I want the refresh rate to be 60hz so I tried this:
DisplayMode(320, 240, 60);The game ran, but the resolution did not change and the game played in a little 320, 240, box in the top left corner of the screen leaving the rest of the screen white. This is the same problem I have when ever I try the GAGE shooter demo.
Am I setting up the DisplayMode right, or is this a known bug.
I've only tried this on my computer running winME and the SDK 1.4.2_01.
    Thanks.

Hmm, I think I'm missing something here but I just looked at GraphicsDevice.java and as far as I can see it doesn't check for refresh rates.

  • Does my TFTs refresh rate matter?

    Hello everyone!
I've been an Arch Linux user for a few hours now and have got it running quite nicely. I love Arch   I've configured my soundcard and installed GNOME. All works fine, however I can't change the refresh rate of my screen which is set to 50 herz.
I've got a Hanns G HW191D which is a TFT screen. So here's my question:
Is 50 herz enough (Someone told me the refresh rate doesn't matter if you have a TFT screen) or should I find a way of increasing it?
    Thanks a lot in advance,
    chell

I just configured KDE on my arch system and The only two options I have are 50 and 55 hz.
It's an X bug, causing to display wrong Hz in applications (like kcontrol, or gnome's setting dialog). Try to look at your monitor's OSD menu for "display info" or similiar. There u'll find the correct Hz that is used. Mine e.g. is running at 75 Hz, which is also the preferred for it, but configuring it by a GUI always shows 50Hz.

So true.. I always check my monitor's OSD menu to check the refresh rates (be it CRT or LCD).  Why let the software tell you when the monitor knows for sure

  • IMac refresh rate

Does anyone know the refresh rate of the new iMac?  The reason I am asking is low refresh rates sometimes gives me a headache and I can't seem to find this info any where on apple's site.  I have a feeling I am not looking in the right section but I'm not totally sure.
    Thanks,
    Tony

There is NO Refresh Rate on LCD screens. That number is for the times per second the Scanning Guns of a CRT monitor redraws the screen, usually in the 60 to 75 (also could be as high as 85) times a second the screen is scanned/redrawn.
You can see that if you take a picture at a fast shutter speed of a CRT TV or computer monitor as part of the screen will be black or dark.
With a LCD screen it is redrawn all at the same time and is basically continuous.
If you are getting headaches from LCD screens then there is something wrong with the screen or your head.
Although with the new LED backlit screens it does pulsate the LEDs as they are One brightness, constant, and the way they lower the screen brightness is to turn the LED lights on and off at different rates to simulate a dimmer screen brightness.
There is a Long thread on this on this forum.
