Refresh Webi reports automatically after BI data loads ?

Hello,
We are about to install BOE X.1 on top of BI 701.
The idea would be that the users would perform their WebI daily reporting, but obviously only after SAP BI night batch scheduling is finished, and the BI infoproviders filled.
I've read that BOE ofers you the ability to refresh the reports upfront.
We were wondering if there is a way to easily implement this logical dependance : to refresh the Webi Report only after the end of BI data loads.
There is off course, the possibility to use an external scheduler, but we have checked the licencing and it's quite expensive.
Is there another way to do so ?

I would like to make sure that I understand you since I'm not very familliar with BOE :
First , we create an event in the CMC and connect it to a file location
Then we schedule the document and add the file event : do you mean schedule the webi report ?
Finally create the file as part of the Bex query refresh process : how exactly do we do that, in the BI process chains ?

Now I want to make that date prompt automated that is the report should run automatically based on the system date daily on scheduling.

Hello Bhasakar,
1.Create sysdate object in the universe
2.Create another query in webi and select only sysdate object
3.In the original query drag the Day object in the filter pane and choose the "List of values" from another query.and select the sysdate object from the second query.
So your report always will run for sysdate...

Error when refreshing WEBI report with Universe Connection Type "SSO"

Hi Experts:
We are trying to refresh the Webi report in Infoview with Universe Connection set as "Use Single Sign On when refreshing the report at view time", so that we can leverage SAP OLAP authorization variable from Bex Query which the Universe is built on.
However got the error of "incomplete logon data" after all the configurations done following below blogs:
SNC Part 1

We already have Win AD SSO to SAP setup, and in BO CMC, Win AD user is mapped to SAP user ID.
The SNC settings are:
- AD Account: service.test.bobj (all lower-letters)
- 32-bit gsslib on the BO server, and 64 bit on the BW server side.
- SNC0: p:service.test.bobj at DOMAIN
- SU01 --> BO_Service ; SNC: p:service.test.bobj at DOMAIN
- Entitlement system tab --> username: BO_Service
SNC Name: p:service.test.bobj at DOMAIN
- SNC settings tab:
SNC Lib: c:\winnt\gsskrb5.dll
Mutual Authentication settings: p:SAPServiceBP0 at DOMAIN
In CMC, the role can be imported if "RFC activated" option unchecked in SNC0.

Sorry for taking so long to reply, we are trying to set up server side trust and enable SSO; but we still couldn't success.
What we did is:
1. We followed installation guide chapter 6, generate certificate and PSE, etc. All looks good.
2. Then we still have the "incomplete logon data" error when refreshing webi report after logon using Windows AD user ID.
3. Then we trace the PFC connection, the log is as below. We checked several BO notes, e.g. 1500150, 1461247.. The part bothers us is that we even don't have URI displayed in the log when system trying to use SNC, and we couldn't get more info on this which make us very difficult to diagnosis.

Error occured while refreshing webi report in bi system

Dear Experts ,
please look into my problem
While refreshing WebI report in BIDEV system, we are getting the following error. The problem occurs only while refreshing the report.
ERROR: a database error occured. the database error text is unable to connect to sap bw server incomplete logon data.. (wis10901)

In the universe connection if the username and password is hardcoded then make sure those username and passwords are correct.
else
Make sure you are in the right BOX, for example if Universe is pointed to Prod, and you execute the report associated with that universe in the Dev, then that error will show up. So in universe connection find out to what BOX(dev, test, prod) it is pointed to and login to webI in the same BOX as universe pointed to and execute the report.
It should work, if not please let us know.

As you are getting error 'IES10901' it is related to database connection issue.
Find below link it might help you.

Authorizations for WEBI report based on BPC data model

Hi All,
We are strugelling with setting up authorisations for the reporting on BPC data model.
We created Bex query on top of Multiprovider that consists of BPC cube. The Bex query is source for WEBI output. The authorisations has been set up on BPC data model (cube) in BPC application but they are not passed nor to Bex query nor to Webi. Example: The query is build on top of OPEX BPC data model, this data model is restricted based on Oranizational Unit. My test user is allowed to see only Org Unit = 'Australia' in the OPEX BPC data model, however when I'm running the report I can see absolutely everything.
We are not connecting/using any BI cubes itself for this reporting. We are intrested only in the WEBI report based on BPC data models.
We were trying to use BPC data model (without any extra settings) as the source for BEx report, we were also trying to use virtual BPC data model as the source for Bex transient query - but non of these have helped.
Can you please advise how the authorisations should be set up for WEBI reporting on BPC data models?

Error while refreshing webi report

SAP BO XI 3.1, when i am trying to refresh data in a webi report, its giving error, Invalid prompt definition contact BO admin WI 00005.
Though i deleted all filters in Bex query, save the query, import universe, refresh univerese, save universe, export universe still webi report is showing the same error, but if all the filters are removed it shouldn't show that error?
After universe is refreshed clicked the check button it showed me 15 errors on filters with message Invalid prompt definiton, supplied XML doc is not valid.
Can any one please help me out.

I am getting this error when i refresh the webi report.
ERROR:
Multiple query filters contain a prompt with the same text, but the
prompts use a different opernd type or operator count of values. (WIS: 0015)
I got answer for this error.
The query has multiple prompts that display the same message. Web Intelligence combines prompts with the same message and displays the prompt once. If the operator defined for some of these prompts requires you to enter one value while the operator in other prompts with the same message requires you to enter multiple values, Web Intelligence cannot combine the prompt.
But can anyone please explain me what is the cause of error in brief? i didn't get what does prompt with same text means?

Error while refreshing WEBi Report : Supplied XML Invalid

I have a universe buit on BI query in production environment.
I changed the query in BI directly in PRD. The only chnage i did was ,unhide the keyfigure which was hidden originally as i wanted to see the data it brings in BEx analyzer.
Then i agian chaged that key figure to Hidden.
now the WEBi reports which are built on the universe which uses this bi qury is not getting refreshed.
It gives the error : Supplies XML invalid
I refreshed the Universe and Parsed it.there was 1 parsing erroe in Filter.Still i exported the universe.
Now generally the WEBI reports start working after re exporting the universe, but this time it is not working.
What can be done in this case.???
I dont think it is because of parsing error as i have exported the same universe earlier with same error and reports worked fine that time.
following is in the WHERE section of the filter:

How you tried editing Webi report ?
Its possible that your changes to Bex query while propagated to Universe after structure refresh, have changed some of the objects, and that change is not in Webi report yet, you'll need to edit it and maybe re-map objects.....

No data in WEBI report - but plenty of data in the underlying Bex query...

HI all - I have a problem with my webi queries - which are sometimes breaking...
We run in the XI 3.1 ans SAP int, kit - SP 2 on both.
Sometimes af perfectly well functioning webi report suddenly returns no values - stating that the query didn't find anything. However - if I run the bex query with the same selections I get plenty of data. So there is data. Therefore it might be a Int. kit problem - however, when I bulid a new webi report - similar to the first one, with same dimensions etc. but without all the formatting - It runs fine too!!!!
So it seems like somehow the original webireport has lost the connection to the measueres which it holds - has anyone any idea to what the cause might be and how to fix it?
By the way - I havre refreshed the Universe and there is nothing to update.

Hi Ingo - the MDX statement from the MDX trace - does not yield any data - However, if I make a similar selection in the BEX, there i data avaiable - so it might be a problem with the how the MDX statement is generated.
I've trouble shooted further and my learnings are so far:
The problem is caused by a combination of 5 dimensions
If you remove either one of the 5 dimensions - the query returnsdata
If you add a specific meausure (a restricted bex key figure) - data is also returned - also in the other measures.
The MDX statement looks like this:

Where all the measures in fact are restricted keyfigures from the Bex query. The dimensions are business content characteristics, as are the variables used.
The above MDX statement returns nothing - but if you remover either one of the dimensions in the cross joins - the expected data is returned.
Any ideas to why that happens?

Impossible to create or refresh webi report. (WIJ 77778) - please help

i'm experiencing problem with BO Edge Standard edition on RHEL4 trying to create or refresh a report on Webi.
I have installed BO without problem on the RHEL4.
I can log on Infoview and in CMC with "administrator" however when i try to create a new webi document or refresh a webi document i got an error like
(Your Webintelligence session has expired. Error : WIJ 77778)
I'd like to tell you that i got this error with a simple query (one object on the query).
I have already read the old post concerning the "Time out" however i think it's another kind of problem.
Has anyone idea how i can deal with this issue ?

I found the solution.
Actually the issue came from Administrator's account rights.
After the installation, i was thinking that the Administrator was setted up with all rights.
But i was wrong.
I used Administrator account and it had not enough rights in Webiserver on the CMC that's why if i tryed to create or refresh a report, i got the error msg.

Refresh Webi report with merged cells in crosstab in PowerPoint

Hello,
I have created a Webi report with a crosstab. In this crosstab I have merged some cells in the top left corner and inserted a title for the crosstab. Now I want to import the crosstab in PowerPoint with Live Office. The problem is, that after the import in PowerPoint the cells are not merged anymore. So I merged them manually. When I refresh the crosstab, the cells are still merged in PowerPoint, but they are empty.
Any ideas how to solve this issue?

Unable to refresh webi report in live office

I have a webi report and using live office, i want to create a dashboard,
i can able to refresh this webi report in infoview but can't in live office, giving an error not sufficient rights. what are the rights to be modified to refresh this report in live office? using the same user id, why a webi report can be refreshed in infoview and not in live office?

Take a look at SAP Note 1461825 - Error "You do not have sufficient rights to refresh data from the specified report (LO 26314)
Resolution
   0. Login to the Central Management Console (CMC).
   0. Goto Folders and expand All Folders -> Goto the User Security of the Folder where the document is stored.
   0. Select the User Group that needs permissions for refreshing the document -> Assign Security -> Advanced Tab -> Click on Add/Remove Rights
   0. Expand Content
   0. Select Crystal Report -> Grant Refresh the report's data.
Strangely enough you need a authorization component from Crystal side when you operate outside WebI

Very slow performance in every area after massive data load

I'm new to Siebel. I had a call from customer saying that virtually every aspect of the application (login, etc) is slow after they did a massive data loading ~ around 15GB of data.
Could you please help to point out what would be the best practice for this massive data loading exercise? All the table statistics are up to date.

Creating a Webi report from R/3 Data

Hi Gurus,
We are running SAP ECC6 with EHP5. Is it possible to create a Webi report directly from the R/3 (without BW system). I read some where that it can be achieved with Data Federator.
Any one has an idea ?
