Refurbished ipod warranty

Hello to eeryone... Just wanna know if I can extend the warranty of my refurbished ipod if ever i will purchase an apple care plan.
Here is the catch.. I sent my ipod, which is out of warranty, to an authorized service center here in the Philippines, yet they said that they can't fix it anymore and they recommended that I just change it to another one which was refurbished by apple itself. They said that the new item will be covered by a 90-day warranty, thus I agreed. I just want to know if the 90 day warranty will be extended if ever I will purchase an apple care plan for ipod tocuh. Thanks...
Looking forward for your helpfulanswers...

hi Eric Ross... I am not entitled to 1 year limited warranty becauseI just exchanged my broken ipod to a refurbished one that's why I was given only 90 days... Thanks for your answer...

  • Refurbished ipod shuffle warranty

    Hi,
I have just bought a refurbished ipod shuffle online last week , and went to check the left over warranty days online today. However, the result shows:
Our records indicate that your product is covered under Apple’s Limited Warranty and your estimated date of purchase was 19-Dec-05. Based on this data, your product will be covered by Apple service warranty for 238 more days.
The above does not reflect the actual purchase date. Is there anything i can do to inform Apple about the incorrect estimated date of purchase, and change to the correct date. What should i do now???
    Thks in advance...

  • Refurbished iPod Touch didn't come with warranty, has wrong purchase date

So I bought a refurbished iPod Touch 5G a couple of weeks ago (in September). For some reason the serial number for the iPod shows up as being out of warranty and also states that it was purchased in May. Has anyone else ever had issues with the warranty and purchase date info being mixed up for their refurb? It became an issue for me because the iPod's screen was flickering. I took it to the Apple store, where they could see that the records were incorrect, but could do nothing about it. They replaced the iPod and zeroed out the replacement fee so it didn't cost me anything, but my iPod still officially lacks a warranty and has the wrong purchase date associated with it. I wish I knew who to talk to to get this cleared up.
I should add that I bought my iPod from the online Apple store, so this is all within their system.

    Kappy,
Thanks for you reponse. The serial number for my iPod brought up the following information at the Apple store:
    Warranty Status: Out of Warranty(OW)
    Model: IPOD TOUCH (5TH GENERATION)
    Date of Purchase: 06-May-13
...but I ordered the iPod online on September 21st. They had to bypass their system in order to give me my free replacement. I'm concerned that if I have a problem again in the future I will not get my 1 year of warranty coverage. It seems to me like someone failed to change some information associated with this iPod when they processed my order for the refurbished model.

  • My Brand New Refurbished Ipod Touch is not working

I just bought a brand new refurbished Ipod touch 32GB (current generation), after a week it shows flickering white screens. I seldom used it for the whole week. When I went to apple service centre they told me that the water leak indicator turns into purple colour supposedly white. I ask them, how this thing can happen, because honestly I was always keep it safe and never been contact to any liquid or soak into water. Then I went to another service centre to get second thought – same feedback was given to me. The warranty was void because of the water leak indicator turns into purple colour.
Anyone can help me to resolve my case? Honestly, I seldom used my Ipod touch, never been contact with water and it was always safely kept. Maybe there is some problem down the factory line, why it was refurbished? What is the history of this iPod touch? Maybe from there, something can help me that can prove that is the original problem of this iPod touch.

i also got a refurb Touch. luckily, mine works as expected.
a refurb enjoys the same warranty as a new one. take yours to an Apple store near you and have it replaced.

  • Can anyone tell me what a refurbished ipod is?

Something caught my eye, the refurbished ipod costs less. What is it? Is it brand new, I mean intact? And can you personalize that thing? I don't know which is a good idea to buy, a refurbished one or the normal versions...
I am planning to buy the ipod 4/8gb nano, or 30 gb ipod with video playback. Still very confused, don't know which one is the best choice? :S
It would be a great help if someone explains it to me...
    Thank you

Refurbished iPods, IMHO, are a good deal: I've bought several in the past, and they've been great. They're cosmetically "as new", and come with the full 1-year warranty, and are eligible for the AppleCare Protection Plan.
Technically (legally), they're not "new", in the sense that they're returns that have been "gone over" to be "like new", hence the considerable discount in price.
All in all, definitely something to consider!

  • Brand new Touch screen cracks after fall on timber ? Refurbished IPOD ?

Now does anyone have thoughts to this story ?
We gave my daughter a brand new 32 GB white IPOD Touch this X-mas.
Because it is summer here and we spend a lot of time outside she listened outside of the house.
She then dropped it from about 60 cm on the (soft !) timber deck. This was on day 4 after we gave it to her and activated the IPOD.
What happened is that the glass cracked from the left lower corner, radiating over the whole screen.
My house is full of Apple products and I have dropped my Iphone and my own Ipod a couple of times, but never had any damage.
Is falling on a soft wooded deck enough to break the new IPOD Touch glass screen ?
This got me very worried, especially as we have no Apple Shop anywhere in New Zealand, and the retail shop that represents Apple here have me a business card of a dubious guy who would repair it for 180 $ but i would void Apple warranty. That for a device less than a week old !!
    Tomorrow AppleCare will ring me.
I saw they used in the past quite a lot of courtesy, especially if the device was very new, but as usual that is probably only for US customers????????
Could this screen have been under tension, cracking after such a minimal trauma ?
When we opened the box brand new there were some minor scratches on the back of the IPOD. My daughter did not mind, but could this have been a refurbished IPOD ?
Looking forward to your opinions and will keep you posted what the AppleCare Team says.
    Thanks

    - Is falling on a soft wooded deck enough to break the new IPOD Touch glass screen ?
Yes, you proved that.  Having it land on a corner is what did it in.
    - I saw they used in the past quite a lot of courtesy, especially if the device was very new, but as usual that is probably only for US customers????????
That typically ony happens when you make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.  It is not limited to the USA
    - When we opened the box brand new there were some minor scratches on the back of the IPOD. My daughter did not mind, but could this have been a refurbished IPOD ?-
I doubt it.  Maybe the iPod was dispayed to someone before you purchased it.  Since you do not have Apple stores, only reprsentitives, I do not know their policy.

  • "New or Refurbished" iPod won't sync; error messages

I recently used my warranty on my old 30 gig classic iPod to get a "new or refurbished" iPod because the battery life was terrible. When i got the iPod everything looked like it was working right, until i got to about 1550/6000 songs. I got a message saying there was a file missing and that the sync could not be completed. I went through some trouble shooting, to no avail. I have Itunes version 8.0.2 and Ipod version 1.3. Any help would be appreciated, this is driving me nuts!

  • What are the pro and cons on buying a refurbished ipod 5?

I want to save some money so i'm wondering if it's a good idea to buy a refurbished iPod touch 5th generation. I know that it was used and that it had some problems before, but that should be fixed and approved by apple. I've heard many positive results but aswell as negative results so, i can;t make up mind!

If you need to save the money buy the refurbished model. It will have the same warranty as a new one.
