HANA views call in ABAP ECC 6.0 via secondary connection

Dear Folks,
We have created views in HANA, same views we need to call it in ABAP ECC 6.0(Netweaver 7.3) i.e. via secondary database connection.
So,
1.Is it possible to call HANA vies in ABAP ECC 6.0?
2.Is there any version limitations? or will work fine on ECC 6.0
3. If yes can you give me sample code of abap to access hana as secondary database

Hi Amol,
so, ADBC is available in your system, but you have to make sure that the correct DBSL library for HANA (HDB) is available in your system. You can then just check if you can correctly communicate with the report ADBC_TEST_CONNECTION (using the secondary connection maintained in table DBCON) to your HANA database.
You may have a look at the example on how to select from an external view in report ADBC_QUERY (which selects from a DB table), by using a secondary DB connection to your HANA DB and using the HANA view instead of a DDIC table.
Of course in ADBC you have to take care about the correct type mapping (as you cannot use a DDIC type for definition of your internal table into which you select).

BTW: One word of precaution, the tasks you try to accomplish is rather cumbersome. We definitively recommend to use a more recent release (e.g. NetWeaver 7.4 SP5 or beyond), however, I think that's not your decision, right?

Error in installing ABAP 7.2 trial version

I tried installing ABAP 7.2 trial version in my laptop with Windows Vista Home Basic edition. The installation gives an error in the "Execute" step in Phase 18 "Perform MaxDB Post load activities". The following is the error.

the error is related to user creation:
Variable user(MadhuSharmila\nspadm) should be defined
Home Editions of Windows has some limitation in user management - for example, the snap-in of local users and group is not directly available in MMC. Probably the installation fails for this reason. You can create user nspadm manually if missing and retry the installation

'FM HELPSCREEN_CREATE is obsolete in ECC 5.0 version'

Hi all,
I am upgrading SAP from 3.1I to ECC 5.0. I am getting the error that 'FM HELPSCREEN_CREATE is now obsolete in ECC 5.0 version'.
can anyone suggest the equivalent FM for the above in ECC 5.0.

Error during installation of SAPNW ABAP 701SR1 SP3 trial version in phase 2

Hi,
I am trying to install SAPNW ABAP 701 SP3 trial version.I am getting error in phase 2
Running msiexec failed with return code 1603: Fatal error during installation.
I am installing on window vista.I have also checked the security setting for the user I am trying to install.It is adminstrator and have access for full control.
When I started the installation of sap it asked me for master password and that password is different from what I use to log on to windows.Could this be the reason for this problem or something else ?

Unable to renew the SAP NetWeaver ABAP 7.02 Trial Version license

Greetings,
My license for SAP NetWeaver ABAP 7.02 Trial Version has expired and I was trying to renew the license the other day. I was able to install the new license but, unfortunately, I were not able to delete the old licence not activate the new one.
I logged on with user: SAP* to install the new license and it was installed successfully. When I do try to delete the old one the system gives this error message: " Only the administrator is allowed to delete licenses. When the valid system license has expired, only the user SAP* can log on to the system. in this case, it would be dangerous to delete a license.
This is why the user SAP* is never allowed to delete a license."
Anybody can assist me with the license renewal please ?!

SAP NetWeaver ABAP 7.02 Trial Version - CPRXRPM

Hello Experts,
I have installed the "SAP NetWeaver ABAP 7.02 Trial Version" from SDN downloads and as you know it comes with SAP_ABA, SAP_Basis, PI_Basis, SAP_BW components.
I still need CPRXRPM component. is it possible to add the CPRXRPM component to the above mentioned trail version?
Please advice, also have any one done this before?

Hello Florian thanks for your quickest response. I would like to emphasize that I have installed the "SAP NetWeaver ABAP 7.02 Trial Version" from SDN downloads it comes with SAP_ABA, SAP_Basis, PI_Basis, SAP_BW components.
I still need CPRXRPM component. is it possible to add the CPRXRPM component to the above mentioned trail version? Please confirm.
Also have any one done this before?

Netweaver ABAP 7.01 trial version

Hi folks,
I am new to Netweaver and trying to install Netweaver ABAP 7.01 trail version on my laptop. I have downloaded SAPNW7.01ABAPTrial.part1.rar AND SAPNW7.01ABAPTrial.part12.rar. As per the instructions trying to extract part1 ra.r file, it is not responding. The files show up in an unrecogniszable format. Am I missing something here?
How can I correct it and install successfully?

ABAP 7.01 Trial Version- No Business Tables( lfa1, ekko,ekpo,kna1 etc)

Hi,
I have installed the ABAP 7.01 trial version from sdn. I have the following queries:
1) There are no business tables like lfa1, ekko,ekpo etc within the ABAP dictionary. Can somebody please guide me how to get the tables. Please note that I didnt the max DB in the complete package. Do I need to install that for the tables.
2) There were 2 rar packages that were downloaded. Do we need to extract both of them and run the extract for both of them as both of the folders appeared to be the same to me.
3) Do we need an internet connection in order to start the SAP Management Console . I found that it doesnt turn green without plugging in the internet wire.
Please answer the above three queries so that I can be completed with my installation.

Creating report using reportpainter in ECC 6.0 version for finance

Hi Experts,
1.In my report i have to include check number from fchn into standard t code fagll03 based on document number in both tcodes
for this i don't know what i have to fill in library , report and copy from in " Report painter: create report" screen.
2.I want report painter material for ECC 6.0 version for creating finance reports because i am confused what to enter in" report" option and "copy from" option regarding my issue in ECC 6.0 version where as in 4.7 there is no such kind of option in initial screen of creating reports.
3. please guide me what necessary steps to take in my issue

You can just ignore this warning in EPC
as this FORM USER_COMMAND is always called indirectly only
But check the Output and see?

How to set up ALE between 4.7 and ECC 6.0 version

Hi,
We are running on 4.7 EE version of SAP with all main modules. Now we are building another system for HR module in ECC 6.0 version of SAP.
Now the requriement is all the HR transactions posted in ECC 6.0 version shoule be moved to 4.7EE SAP system. For that i need to set up a ALE between ECC 6.0 and 4.7EE.
So please hlep me the process flow to set up this. Is there any pre-requisites?

Call Transaction XK02 in SAP ECC 6.0 Version

Hi All,
I am working with an object which calls a transaction XK02 to modify the name and contact details fields in Version SAP ECC 6.0.
The problem is that, when the transaction is run manually and saved or when an SHDB Recording is created, the data is getting updated.
But when the transaction is called from a program or when the SHDB Recording which is already created is run, the data is not getting updated in Version SAP ECC 6.0.
The data is getting updated properly when it is done in Version SAP 4.6b.
Central Address Management System is used here.
The call transaction statement is running smoothly. The SY-SUBRC is 0 for this.
The thing is, there is a Check Box at the end of the screen called 'Use Central Address Management' when the SHDB is created.
If this is checked, the contact details are stored in ADRC and LFA1 tables and only in LFA1 if not checked.
In the new version SAP ECC 6.0, the data should also get populated in the ADRC table.
There is a slight change in the logic in SAP ECC 6.0 version.
Can anybody please help me in this regard?

Screen Exit / Badi for VF01 in ECC 5.0 Version

Dear experts,
I want to add some customized field(Bill of lading date) to the screen of billing header and the field should be displayed in the screens of t-code VF01 and VF02 always.
I found that the BAdi: BADI_SD_CUST_HEAD
But When I try to create implementation for the Badi. The following error is coming Badi definition BADI_SD_CUST_HEAD is only provided for SAP internal use. Our client using sap ecc 5.0 version.
Is there any screen exit or how to add a popup on the billing screen in user exit rv60afzc . Adding popup enter bill of lading date Causes any problems?
