Reg: Adapters

Hi All
I'm confused with the adapter concepts. My query is below:
For File to proxy we use adapter type as XI in communcation channel. Though we specify the adapter type as XI it is regarded as adapterless communication. But for the same reason we have IDOC and RFC adapters not titled under adapterless communication.
What counts on the difference between adpaterless and adapter commuincation? If the reply is going to include data transformation is not there and xi content is retained in using xi adapter for adapterless coomunication then using file adpaters i can have the xi content retained provided my input is xml and file content  conversion is not used. Does it mean that file adpater is also adapter less communication in this regard?
Kindly clarify.
Regards
Prabhu

<i>the communication is directly between the local integration engine and the Central intg. engine.
Is it XI server and SAP WEBAS. Then what about IDoc or RFC? IDoc being a std of SAP alone it is termed as adatper communication.</i>
>>>>
it is the commun. between the WAS of the R3 and XI ... the central integ. engine (IS is on WAS)

• Difference between Seeburger FTP and OFTP adapters

hi,
Can anybody tell me the difference between Seeburger FTP and OFTP adapters?
On what basis should one make a business decision as to which adapter to go for?
Kindly help urgently.
Regards,
Loveena

Hi ! Loveena
Seeburger EDI Adapter provides an EDI solution on internet via HTTP or AS2 to replace the expensive VAN. It provides some pre-built mappings for IDOC to ANSI X12(810,850,855,856 etc.,) and Idoc to EDIFACT(ORDERS,DESADV,INVOIC etc.,) and has the ability to build your own. These pre-defined mappings transform the IDOC-XML to EDI-XML format.
Seeburger Adapters are used to Connect the applications which are using Message protocol/Transport protocol as CrossIndustry(payment), VAN, OFTP, AS2(EDIINT), Generic and EDI based applications.

OFTP ist a communication protocol. This has nothing to do with the format you have to transfer.
regards the format you have to clear at which standard you have to transfer the messages. This can be any EDI format. At OFTP area the standard are often VDA or ODETTE.
You can create this messages using different EDI adapters (of course also the mendelson adapter ).
Regards OFTP you need additional software which handle the transfer based on the OFTP standard. Mostly you also need an ISDN card for using this protocol.
We can support you with this software for OFTP transport too.
More info also available at http://www.mendelson-e-c.com/.
have a look at the ACTIS OFTP Adapter

• K7D Master-L graphics problem: multiple display adapters/no winxp star

Hiya,
I just recently bought a new K7D Master-L and I've had a few problems with it. Other than these issues the board has been great, but this is getting pretty annoying and I can't seem to fix it, so I'm posting here for advice/help/solutions.
System Specs: I have two AthlonMP 1900+ and 786MB Corsair RAM (registered PC2100, 512MB in slot 1, 256MB in slot 2). I have a WD400JB (40GB ATA100 drive with 8MB buffer) and a generic IDE CD/DVD-ROM. I have an ATI Radeon 9700 Pro AGP card running at 4x.
When I first installed the motherboard I tried to load Windoze XP on it (actually I first used Linux but had ...driver problems). Anyway XP seemed to install fine, but upon reboot, the system would get to the "progress bar"/"OS loading" screen (the small blue bar that goes back and forth) and the bar would get stuck exactly 2 "bars" from where it started--every time. I could boot into safe mode, but nothing seemed screwy. Doign the command-line boot (I think) where it shows the drivers it is loading, it got to the "agpgart" file then stopped, maybe this was the problem. I gave up after a dozen reboots or so, trying various things, and installed Windows 2000+SP3.
Win2K installed fine, and after installing the drivers on MSI's site for northbridge, southbridge, audio, and lan, and installing ATI's latest Catalyst 3.4 drivers (I also tried 3.2), device manager had no more problems, save one.
The problem is that there are two display adapters listed: "RADEON 9700" and "RADEON 9700 (Secondary)". There were two adapters listed before I installed the drivers, called something like "Display Adapter" and "Display Adapter (VGA compatible)". In Properties it says "PCI Slot 4 (PCI bus 1, device 5, function 0)", is this normal for AGP cards? Here is a screenshot (I disabled one to see if that helped my settings-loss problem, but it doesn't):

Whats worse is that the display settings don't seem to stick around across reboots--it always reverts to the default settings of 640x480x16--which is extremely annoying. These problems exist regardless of whether I have a Service Pack installed (currently I'm running on a fresh Win2K install with no updates and having the same issues). I've tried multiple drivers for the card and no change, I've tried with/without the updated chipset drivers, and I've had this same setup work on my previous motherboard (Tyan Tiger MP) without seeing multiple display adapters.
Any ideas? Or is there something that might fix my WinXP startup freeze? If so I could reinstall WinXP and see if that has the same multiple adapter problem...
Thanks for any advice.
Josh

Well my system just booted into 640x480x16, so it appears those registry changes didn't fix the issue. The registry settings were simply changed back to 640x480x16 for some reason. I haven't reinstalled the motherboard drivers, but I gathered them all up and I'll try this later today. Here are the latest drivers I found, all from MSI's site:

We shall see if this fixes the multiple adapter problem. As far as the display settings problem, I don't know that the deal is. It works fine on other motherboards with the same hardware and drivers, so it must be something with the K7D, Windows, and ATI interaction.

• Direction on safe power adapters for iPods from US to Travel in France

Hello, I searched other topics found the Apple power adapter plug for the ipod discussesd this topic (which I do already have), but it did not SPECIFICALLY say that it will convert from US (110v) to Euro - France (220) volt. • Mail can't send email from 123-reg accounts

Hi all,
I've got an issue with Mac Mail can’t send email from 123-reg accounts.
I know there is a lot of articles on simular matters and some I have tried out with no luck, others are just speaking a whole other language.
Any help would be greatly recived, here's my situation below:
Running a iMac 2.8GHz Intel Core i5 on OS X 10.8.3
I’m using 3 accounts on Macs Mail client, one is my iCloud account that is working fine and the other two are my 123-reg accounts that I use for business purposes. I’ve been working like this for a couple of years now and about 6 months ago I upgrade my operating system from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion.
2 or 3 months ago I randomly got a problem where I was unable to send any emails from my 123-reg account, I could only receive emails. I checked my settings and they were all correct and unchanged so I attempted to delete them and recreate the account but with no such luck.
I then decided to check if it was a problem at 123-regs end and attempted to log into web mail. This worked and was able to both send and receive emails so eliminated that possibility.
I also have these accounts set up on my iPhone, so checked if there was any issues and everything was working fine. I then checked my iphone details and made sure the same was on my desktop and still no such luck.
I’ve tried out some of the articles I’ve found on here (the ones written in plain English) still no results. I’m not very IT illiterate and just wondered if anyone else has got any ideas, whether there is something specific with 123-reg accounts and Mac Mail?
Many thanks.

Thanks

• Question related to the mini display port adapters

So I just bought my new macbook pro and soon I'll need to buy an adapter so I'm able to connect it to a projector or monitor using the more commonly used ports.
I'll need VGA and DVI, but I don't think I'll spend 50£+ on two adapters, instead I thought I'd just buy the MDP -> DVI adapter and then use a DVI to VGA converter I have laying around... Would that do the trick?
By the way this is the particular adapter i'm talking about:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002ERZGKQ/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=A1 T39SA8AUFT6J
And this is what my converter looks like:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cabling4Less-DVI-VGA-HD15-Adaptor/dp/B000FII810/ref=sr_1 _1?ie=UTF8&qid=1310517204&sr=8-1
Thanks in advance!

I guess I'll buy the MDP to VGA (Which I'll need more at school for presentations) and later on the DVI one, to use at home. I'd use VGA at home as well but I prefeer the looks of the digital signal, it just has better quality.
Thanks for sharing your experience, now I know what to go for

• I just bought a recertified Mac Mini, and I wonder if anyone here knows if it's possible to hook up my Mac flat screen LCD monitor to it using what adapters? I currently have a DVI to ADC adapter connected to my G4 Powermac.

I just bought a recertified Mac Mini core duo - it's not the newer model-, and I wonder if anyone here knows if it's possible to hook up my Mac flat screen LCD monitor to it  and using what adapters? I currently have a DVI to ADC adapter connected to my G4 Powermac.
The company I bought it from is not Apple, and I may regret that. It was in my price range, though.
This is the first time I've used this community, and I've been a Mac owner since 2000. Thanks in advance!

when you say "Mac flat screen LCD", do you mean this:

• I have a Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter, then I purchased 3 VGA adapters: a VGA to HDMI, VGA to Component, and VGA to RCA. When I hook them up to my TV (I've tried multiple TVs) they do not detect a display, even when I click Detect Displays.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a solution for this?  The only other Mini DP I found was a HDMI connection.  I want to make sure I can connect to not only TV's via HDMI, Component or RCA, but also projectors (some of which may be older requiring a Component or RCA connection).
I'm using this Mini DisplayPort:

These are the VGA Adapters I'm using:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001OLCHJ6
VGA to Component:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000P3Q0YW
VGA to RCA:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000Y7T5UU
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

None of the three lower adapters pictured in your post will do you any good with your MBP.
1. The VGA-HDMI adapter does the reverse of what you want: it yields VGA output from HDMI input. The opposite is not possible; a VGA input does not contain all the information necessary to create an HDMI output. You'll have to get a direct mini-Displayport-to-HDMI adapter instead.
http://store.apple.com/us/product/H1824ZM/A/Moshi_Mini_DisplayPort_to_HDMI_Adapt er?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY
2. VGA-Component: Lots of posters here when the MDP-equipped MBs and MBPs first came out tried adapters like this one with no success. What does work with the MDP (and a VGA adapter) is a converter box like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Startech-Component-YPbPr-Video-Converter/dp/B000G6Y0S6
3. VGA-Composite: This doesn't work with MBPs either. For Composite or S-Video output, you need a converter box like this:
http://www.amazon.com/PC-To-TV-Video-Converter/dp/B001CJOLBW/ref=pd_cp_e_2
or this:
http://www.startech.com/AV/Converters/Video/High-Resolution-PC-VGA-to-TV-Convert er-with-Remote-Control~VGA2NTSCPRO
These converter boxes will work fine in combination with your Apple MDP-VGA adapter.

Run MDP to HDMI for picture. Use a cable like this to run sound from your audio out on your Mac to your TV's audio in.  That's about all  you can do.

• Mini Displayport to VGA Adapters Keep Braking

Hi Guys,
I was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem as me. I have managed to go through 3 Mini Displayport to VGA Adapters in a very short space of time. The last one only lasted two days. My Macbook Pro is only sat at a desk and there doesn't appear to be any significant strain on the cable or adapter.
I have tried using different vga cables and a different monitor but it is definatly the adapter.
I was wondering if the Mini Displayport could cause something to short out in the adapter itself.
I also have a Mini Displayport to HDMI cable going to my TV which has been working fine for ages.
I was wondering whether it is better to get a straight Mini Displayport to VGA cable instead of an adapter. I can't seem to find any sort ones (about 30cm) any suggestions?
Cheers
Dave

JK had a very good suggestion. Try using a different VGA cable.
If you try it and it doesn't work or if you don't have another to try with, you might want to consider exchanging it for another one at best buy, it is always possible that you got a bad one.

Hello.

OK and thanks. I tried to find on big retailer stores online like Best Buy, Fry's Electronics, Office Max, Radio Shack, etc. but had no luck. • Mini display to VGA adapters. Will older ones/non-Apple ones work?

(MacBook Pro 17", 2 years old)
What's the 411 on mini display-to-VGA adapters? I'm not particularly thrilled about the prospect of paying $30 from Apple. Will the older "roundy" style adapters work just as well? Ebay is flooded with 'em for cheap. What about the aftermarket ones? Or are Apple's adapters proprietary (I wouldn't put it past them if theirs were!)?
Thanks-

Hello,
I have a weird problem with my Macbook pro 13" bought in sep 09. I have connected my Samsung HDTV 720p via mini display of Macbook pro 13 to DVI adapter n thn DVI to HDMI cable to HDMI port of TV.
When the display cable is unplugged, i am able to surf the internet and watch videos, as soon as I connect the mini display port to macbook pro, iternet freezes.
I even tried to move my macbook far away from the HDTV, but it never helped.
I noticed, macbook was connected to wifi in this situation but internet was not working, even i tried to ping my Netgear wifi router, it could not ping. and turned off the Airport and again turned it on (while the Display cable was connected to HDTV), it was not accepting password for my wifi router.
I dont know what is the problem, i tried all I knew to solve but still helpless.
Anybody please help me get this resolved.

• Brand new mac mini and Studio Display 17" LCD- 2 adapters needed- problems?

From many forum posts here and elsewhere it seems I can in fact hook up my Studio Display 17" LCD monitor if I used the ADC-DVI adapter. But has anyone used the ADC-DVI adapter AND the DVI-mini DVI adapter that came in the box with the Mac mini?
Apple tech support told me on the phone tonight that doing so would "fry" the Studio Display.
Has anyone had any problems using this? Will running it through 2 adapters cause problems as opposed to the older minis where you could just do ADC-DVI and then into the computer?

Were you able to get your display working? I have an LG 27" at home connected to a Mid 2012 (June) MacBook Air 13" that has absolutely no issues. However, I just obtained the same Samsung monitor you have and appear to be having the same issue.
The only solution that I have found is to unplug the power from the back of the monitor or at the power supply each time my computer either wakes from sleep, screensaver, or a display that is powered off. This seems to be true via the following connections:
1. HDMI to DVI thunderbolt adapter
2. HDMI to Thunderbolt adapter
The display powers on with a slight flicker and then will immediately stop displaying the image on screen. What's especially strange here is the MacBook Air still believes the display is connected -- my login screen or active apps that are displayed on the external monitor do not move to the MacBook Air display as if it's no longer connected.
I hope someone has a solution to this issue! Thanks!

• New 13" Macbook Pro trying to connect to a Panasonic VIERA TC-L42U30 as second monitor. I've used multiple hdmi-thunderbolt/mini displayport adapters and multiple hdmi cables and still no success. The Macbook does not sense the second monitor (TV). Help?!

I've been a Mac since 2008, so I know my way around the system pretty well. This issue, however, has me stumped. I had an iMac until now and only now am I experiencing some difficulty with my new MacBook Pro. The model I have is the newest 13" Macbook Pro model and I'm trying to connect a Panasonic VIERA TC-L42U30 42" HDTV as a second monitor via the Thunderbolt port.
It worked the first two times and hasn't worked since, after 10-15 attempts with different configurations, turning things on n off, restarting the mac, unplugging the cables, adapters, TV, resetting the P RAM, etc... I've used multiple hdmi-thunderbolt/mini displayport adapters and multiple hdmi cables and still no success. No matter what I do, the Macbook does not sense the TV as a second monitor anymore.
I took the MacBook Pro to the Apple Store, and their "genius" there had it working fine with a DVI connection to a regular monitor. The Panasonic TV I have has HDMI connections and one VGA connection which does not support HD, but no DVI option. I want an HD connection to mirror or extend my MacBook Pro screen. At the Apple Store, they didn't have a Thunderbolt/Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, so he could not try that out for me.
Anyone else have this configuration or another similar one with a Panasonic HDTV?
Ideas? Suggestions? Anything?! Help!!
P.S. I'm running Mountain Lion, if that wasn't already obvious. Everything is up to date in my App Store as well.
Thanks!

Hi There,
I have had the exact same issue but with a projector.
The issue lies with Mountian Lion 10.8.2.
I tried many a combination with no luck to get HDMI working.
Took my mac into the apple store and came to the conclusion it was the software, so I asked them to install 10.8 onto it (this is destructive so a backup is a must)
Bought my macbook home and voila, now displaying through my projector.
There is a small graphics update after 10.8.1 which seems to be the cause.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.
