Reg:- Add related content to FR

Hi All,
While making a report in FR, When i want to add related content to the cell and after checking the add related content checkbox -> setup, i cant see anything into the "addrelated content" windows that pops up after clicking on Setup.
Can anyone help me out, how to populate it?

Thanks for ur reply. But i have a question where do we have customize option on the Add related content window where in we need to select the content from Available category to related content category?
Once we click setup after checking the related content checkbox, only option what i get is the window to select the available contents to the related content and this is were i do not find anything in under the AVAILABLE category.

I believe there is a PDF doc which comes with the component (it should be at your harddrive when you install it), which describes everything you will need.
In a nutshell, there are two types of relationship: sibling - sibling, parent - child (there are some more nuances, but it follows the same logic).
A relationship is created between two existing items (not sure, if you can also create a relationship for a new checked in item, but it would be just a usability). You select the type of relationship and the item - I believe depending on the relationship you may start from either item. The dialog to start is INFO (display metadata) or UPDATE (update metadata).
When a relationship is created you may watch it also from either end (again INFO is the starting point).
It is quite self-explanatory, so if you have the component installed you may just play around with it for a while and that is it.

Related Content on Formula Cells

I am trying to create a report that has related content. I want to apply the related content to formula cells but that functionality is disabled on the formula cells in FR Studio. Is there a configuration or property that must be changed to get this to work?

Which version are you using?
11.1.2.0 added the functionality to add Related Content links to be created in any part of a report - such as formula and text rows and columns, row and column headers, images, text boxes and even all of the cells in a grid.

Change the Related Content Server name in FR Studio

Hello All
We are on Hyperion EPM 11.1.1.3 and we are currently have a requirement where we want to change the name of the Related Content Server in Financial Reporting Studio.
eg;
existing - hostname1.domain.com
new - hostname2.domain.com
Found a note on metalink " How to Add or Change a Related Content Server [ID 803074.1]" But it applies only for Release: 9.0 to 9.3.
Moreover the file in the above note doesn't exists on 11.1.1.3. Even though the parameter "FR_BaseWebApp" exists in another file called fr_configcache.properties, change to that parameter wasn't reflected where expected.
Found another note "Cannot Add Related Content to a Report in Financial Reporting Studio [ID 1068491.1]" but using this note we can only change the properties like port, isSSL etc but not the hostname.
I would be grateful if you can help me in this matter.

Were you able to resolve this issue? We are facing the same problem.
When changing the server name in fr_configcache.properties, we restart the services. This however replaces the newly added name with the old one.
Please let me know which other file needs to be changed.

How to determine a Bidirectional relation when add a related Content in UCM

i want to use "ADD_RELATED_CONTENT" service that are defined within the LinkManager Component.
i use the following parameters in my code and it works fine

what i want to do:
- add a related content of type Cross-Reference Class (dLinkTypeID=4) with Bidirection relation not unidirection. The above code add a content as a unidirection relation.
is there is any specific parameter that i need to specify in order to determine the Bidirectional relation?

actually am working on related content services; handle them thourgh (JAVA + RIDC).My general recommendation is: turn on server-wide tracing on requestaudit (or perhaps sometimes even services) - see http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e10792/c03_processes.htm#CSMSP535 how to do that, perform the scenario from GUI, and check what's being called. Often, you will find your answer there.

Related content list is empty !

Where can i find the RelatedContent.properties file for Financial Reporting studio.
When i try to add a related content in a cell, i have an empty list !!!!

when i coppied the code i never removed the second decleration of the list so the method had it's own list and the class had it's own list.

Related Content Links are broken

We have ~100 FR reports that have 4-5 Related Content links set up each.
The Directory structure we had in Workspace Explorer looked like this
ROOT
- Financial Statements
-- Report 1
-- Report 2
- Balance Sheet
-- Report 1
-- Report 2
- Metric Reports
-- Report 1
-- Report 2
Now we need to change it so that all those Folders are not DIRECTLY under the ROOT but under a Subject Area folder like this
ROOT
- FINANCE+
-- Financial Statements
--- Report 1
--- Report 2
-- Balance Sheet
--- Report 1
--- Report 2
-- Metric Reports
--- Report 1
--- Report 2
The problem is when we make this change, the Related Content links are broken. Is there a easier way to update the Related Content links besides Opening each report and Delete/Re-Add ALL the Related Content links?!
As anyone been successful at Export them either via LCM or the Workspace Export and modified the links that way?
Any thoughts on a easier approach would be greatly appreciated!

You can do a folder by folder search/replace using the Workspace menu item:
Tools/Change Related Content links.
You could also try and export/reimport on a small sample to test first.

Output from Web Analysis Related Content will not Export to Excel

I have Web Analysis reports, data in which is sourced from an EIS database. I have drill thru reports that are accessible from "Related Content". The resulting report is created fine, but cannot be exported into Excel. Specifically, I'm prompted for the location of Excel on my pc. Once I browse to it, it will open in Excel.
I have upgraded from Office 10 to Office 12, although I cannot say for certain that is when this problem started occurring.
Secondly, there are no other BI+ issues with export to Excel. For example, FR and WA export fine. The ExcelPath in the webanalysis.properties file takes care of that. I'm hoping there is something similar to update for this problem.

Have you tried the print button in the web analyzer it does export the input filter parameters as part of the exported PDF document.
You can include any additional text elements and use a custom export template if required.

Missing "message" from above: The iPad "DGMTR" is synced with another iTunes library on DGMTR's MacBook Pro. Do you want to erase this iPad and sync with this iTunes library? An iPad can be synched with only one iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iTunes library.

There are, but not with a DVD written as a movie disk. It must be closed when completed, or it doesn't work.
Apple's built in Burn utility also automatically closes any data CD, DVD or Blu-ray disk you burn. Doesn't matter how much space is unused, you can't use it. You'd have to use a more advanced disk creation app, such as Toast Titanium. I then have the option of choosing to write the data as a session:
I can keep doing this until the disk is full. If I've written five sessions to the disk, when I put it in the drive, five CD/DVD icons will appear on the desktop since the OS will treat each session as if they are separate physical disks. At any point you choose Write Disk when writing a group of data, that means you're closing the disk, and again can't add anything after that. So if I had written two sessions, and the third was Write Disk, it's over. I can't put anything else on that disk.

Financial Reporting 9.3.1 error with related content

Hi All,
I need some help with the below issue please:
We are on 9.3.1. We have a financial reporting report which contains related content that opens up in a new window and pulls an Interactive Reporting bqy. The data in the related content report is fine however once the related content window is open we cannot open anything else in the repository and get the following error:
2108: The object requested: [Hyperion Financial Reporting/Finance Reports/1. Financial Management Reports/SUGLR053] does not exist in the repository.
We must log out and log back in in order to be able to open any reports in the repository.
The related content window seems to cause this error. If we open the same first report but dont drill down to related content then everything works fine.
Has anyone come across this?
In the FRWebApp.log we have:

Hello,
I have also experience this issue in two different 11.1.1.3 environments and as you have stated, clearing the cache/deleting cookies resolves this issue. I was just wondering where I could find more information on the bug that you specifiec (Oracle Bug ID: 6900417). I have not been able to find any information on the web or within oracle concerning this bug number. Could you please provide more detailed information so that I can understand the issue better? Also, do you know if there is a fix for this issue instead of just a work around? Thank you in advance for your help and information.

Hi Rob,
From the screen shots it looks like your script is not formatted properly (you may refer to 'Paladin Script' in 'Sample Project' to get an idea of how the script should be formatted.).
Further please follow the steps mentioned below to use Story to PP workflow.
Create a new Film script in Adobe Story
Create scene heading – INT. LOCATION – Day (these will show up in the outline view panel on left hand side)
Hit enter, hit TAB
Enter the name of the speaker, hit TAB or ENTER
Copy over the transcribed text
Build your script this way
Number scenes from the production menu
Export ASTX file for your script : File->Export->.astx
Open Premiere Pro
Create a new project, bring in media
In the project pane, find the "Scene" column
For the clip that contains the spoken text, assign the same scene number to the clip as you have in the story script (lets say both are scene 1)
Click out of the scene box in the project panel in Ppro
Right click on the scene that you just assigned a scene number to and select – attach Story script
Select the .astx fle you exported in step 8
Click ok
You should now see the script data in the metadata panel for the clip in the metadata panel.
You can now run speech to text based on "Embedded Script metadata" to time align spoken word to the script.

Powershell to add/delete content type to particular library alone in a site collection

I am trying to add and delete content type from a particular picture library (site collection) using powershell.
I have tried the below, but it is not working.
Below scenarios are not working:
1) If the content type to be added is there in library, then the loop is still moving to "No content type exists".
2) Content type is not getting deleted from library
3) Set the newly added content type as default content type.
Below is the powershell, which I am trying:

Add new Content to a html/plain file

Hi Everybody,
how can is it possible to add new content (a new line) to a existing html/plain file? I have two methods, with the first one i can create a file but with the second one it is not possible to add new content to the just created file. What is my mistake?

Related Content Field Mapping using "Page Field" mapping type

In PeopleBooks it refers to a Page Field mapping type whene mapping fields from the component to it's related content.
Is this a misprint in PeopleBooks, did this feature not make it into 8.50.09 or is this option only available under certain circumstances.
I'm trying to pass a non key field from level 0 to the rel content url.

Thanks for the reply.
It appears that you can't select the "Page Field" mapping type unless you have the related content specified by PAGE ratehr than component.
PBOOKS states Page Field: use when you want to map the service parameter to any level 0 page field.
In the component buffer fields in level 0 could be any page. I was hoping to pass ANY level 0 field through to the Rel Content URL for any page in this component.
