Reg:Attachment Version

Hi All,
I have a small query regarding Attachment's in Workspace.
suppose i logged in as Employee so as we create an instance and attach any file in the workspace and then if we make any changes to it then the new file pops up but as we expand the bar we found that the old file is also there.
plus if we execute that instance and logs in by a different user(e.g. Supervisor) we found that both the attachments were there old one and the latest one with different versions......
so is there any way through which we can have only latest one even after we expand the attachment bar.

When you edit an attachment and check it back in, it automatically increases the version number. While the original version remains available for viewing, it cannot be checked out and checked back in. Only the latest version is available for editing/check-out/check-in.
There is no way to delete old versions of the attachments.

Manually Attaching Version to Master

Hello Everyone,
I recently switched to Aperture from iPhoto and have spent quite a bit of time trying to get organized. I like Aperture's organizational style much more, though, so I'm hoping it'll be worth it in the end.
One problem I've run into is that Aperture imported iPhoto's version edits as 2 masters, typically stacked. So I'll have the version that I edited using iPhoto, plus the master that iPhoto was working off of, in a little 2 item stack, with no connection whatsoever between them. What I'm interested in doing is basically attaching the edited version back to the Master file. Is that at all possible?

The best you can hope for is to have the master and the "version" stacked. That is very useful, though.
IPhoto does non-destructive editing, but it does so by saving a new complete file of your photo, while leaving the original intact and not changed. Aperture, on the other hand, does its non-destructive editing by saving the master and then a set of instructions, the "version", which it applies to the master. In other words, your iPhoto library doesn't have Aperture versions. You imported two different photos. Two different photos will always be two different photos to Aperture, even if they look like the came from the same source to you or me.
These photos will be stacked in your Aperture library, but it's not likely that you will have any photos stacked for this particular reason again. I am in a similar situation as you. I have many "iPhoto" stacks in my Aperture library from my JPG+RAW shooting. In iPhoto, the RAW and JPG were someone shown once (I.e., one photo for each RAW/JPG pair), but each of the two files was stored in the iPhoto library. When I migrated my iPhoto library into Aperture, Aperture properly found two pictures for each, and now they are all stacked. Aperture would normally hide the JPG and work directly with the RAW (and consequently show only one entry for each JPG/RAW pair). I don't like it too much, but my only alternative is to go back in time and start using Aperture earlier. <sigh>

Hi, van body tell me what is the significance of version attribute.
sometimes we use 1.0 , some times we use 4.0.
2 ) encoding attribute...? when we use UTF , ISO. and tell me among the
version , encoding which are mandatory, optional.
<?xml....?> --tag is optinal or not

The version attribute specifies the version of the XML standard you are using. 4.0 is not a valid version. You get 1.0 or (maybe if the parser supports it), 1.1. There is no XML version 4.0.
This value is not to be used for versioning your documents within your application context but is for parsers to determine which version of XML they must comply with when parsing your document.
See the prolog section in the XML specification:

The encoding lets your parser know how the document's bytes were encoded so it can decode them properly. A simple google search for info on the encoding types, UTF-8, UTF-16, ISO-8859-1, etc. will tell you all you need to know.
Finally, the declaration <?xml ...?> is optional but recommended. Not only is it good practice, but it will ensure maximum portability of your documents (some parsers will reject the doc if you don't have it).

DRM doubt reg New version creation

While updating changes to a current version, we create a copy of the existing version, save it with a version-<number> and rename the changed version as version-<final>
Recently, during such an operation, we created the copy and renamed it as version-<final>
but we are now unable to see it.
We refreshed DRM and also checked the backend database.
There is no trace of version-<final>.
Neither it is detached nor saved state.
when we try to create the copy again, it gives us an error stating the version already exists.
It is imperative for us to stick to the naming convention.
What could possibly be the reason for such an occurance ?
we are using Oracle DRM Fusion edition 11.1.1.2.01.

Even we used to face the same issue and it is with all the latest versions.
Try these:
1. Increase the Tablespace
2. If tablespace does not work then only workaround then to follow this - Create version, open any of the hierararchy and go back to the main window and save the version. Please note that while saving the version any of the hierarchy should already be open.

I am using simulation version key as SIM+++ .But as per document given below:-
The valid version numbers for simulation version can be entered in Customizing.
You can use the formatting characters + and *:
+ means exactly one character
If you enter SIM+++ the maximum length of the version number is restricted to 6 characters.
is a character string of no defined length at the end of the version number (up to the maximum length of 12 characters).*
If version numbers for simulations have been entered in Customizing, then you can only create versions that correspond with one of these entries
but when i am creating Simulation version SIMAA3 then also system is accepting whereas as per above document + sign is for character and not for digit.
So Kindly guide me in resolving this issue.

Project Version is snapshot/photo of project, you cant change it. It is generally taken to record the exact project status at that point of time.
Simulation version is used to simulate 'if then' conditions.Generally used during quotation phase or if you want see effect of particular event on project you can create simulation version see the effect and transfer back to operative or delete.
Project Version is only for info purpose and cant be transfered anywhere. Simulation version can be transfered to operative project.

I wonder if anyone could help me out ......
we want to add a Attachment in the Presentation ......
just like in the workspace we have the feature to attach any file.....we want same feature in the presentation...
now my second concern is ByPass.......
Let's take an example ....Suppose an Employee send the application to Supervisor and Supervisor didn't,t took any action on it. So we want the application to route towards (automatically)Treasurer after certain time period and vice versa....

You had a couple questions. Sorry, I got a little lost on your first one about adding an attachment in the presentation. Do you mean a BPM Object presentation? I don't think you'll have success browsing for a file to attach from an end user's machine unless you use a JSP to do this.
Regarding the second question, you can use a due transition from the interactive activity going into another activity. The due transition will automatically fire when the time interval specified expires.

Although your query has been rightly answered by akshaya, I would still like to point out that you should not say NWDS2004 or NWDS2004s. As mentioned in the link provided by akshaya, NWDS 2.0.* is generally used for working with NW2004 and NWDS7.0.* is generally used for working with NW2004s.
Also note, NW2004 is the complete Netweaver package of version 2004, NWDS is the Netweaver Developer Studio, notice the difference between these.

If its the smartforms that you need to compare, you could probably, download the forms and do a comparison. This seems to be the simplese and best way.
TRhen if its regarding comparing the page formats used in smartforms, then you need to compare it through SPAD tcode.

In the document, they clearly mentioned version 8.3 and above, we need to purchase one license passive will automatically sink.in my case I need to purchase two license. In order to upgrade your ASA you have to download the new version from Cisco.com
**Go to Cisco.com ---> support --- Downloads and search the version you need .
After that you need to transfer the software to the ASA , It could be done from a TFTP server or via ASDM.
Once you have the file into the ASA go to the config mode and type the following commands :
Boot system flash:name of the image
Write memory
Reboot
After reboot you can check the version with the "Show version" command

Error when trying to upload attachment

Hi All
We are on SRM 5.0 SRM Server 5.5.
I am getting an error whenever I try to upload an attachment to either a shopping cart or a PO.
When I select 'Search and Add' I get my pop-up that allows me to search for and then select my file. However when I select the required file the system pauses and then returns an error 'The content server report an error.' When I select OK to this error I get another error appearing that simply states 'Java.IO.Exception'.
I don't know why there is any message about content server when we do not use a separate content server. The config settings for content repository have been untouched.
I have activated the docserver and assigned a user and password. We are using only one client.
Anyone got any ideas

Logged the call with SAP who directed me to 'Define settings for attachments' in IMG and setting the 'Deactivate Java Applet' & 'Deactivate Attachment versioning' checkboxes - problem solved.
