Reg batch specific serial number

Dear all,
In a process order where serial number is activated for fert material, we want to have batch specific serial numbers for ex if batch no is 100409a1 and it contains 4 items we need the serial numbers as
100409a101, 100409a102, 100409a103, and 100409a104 how to achieve this.
please advice

Hello All,
We use batch management for serialized materials only at our central plant. For all other plants, there is no batch control. Sometimes we need to return materials back to the central plant but with a different batch number.
When we do two step stock transfer 303 / 305, we receive the following error message if we don't use the original batch number.
"IO 229 - Batch for serial number 1234 (BBB) differs from document batch AAA".
However, when we use one step plant to plant stock transfer 301, there is no error message. The batch number is also updated correctly in IQ02.
I wonder if there is any configuration to use 303 / 305 with different batch numbers.

Thanks Arminda.
64044 recommends to use 309 to change the batch, which works but this is an additional step.
Currently 1 step plant to plant transfer i.e. 301 doesn't require this additional step. It updates the batch information with no problem.
Is there any configuration option to change the behavior of 305, so that we don't have to do an additional movement?

Customer specific serial number

Hi,
I am creating a customer specific 13 digitt serial number during production order creation. This serial number is getting populated in my production order.
But i could not see this serial number in IQ02.
In this 13 digit serial number last 5 digits are internal number number from system. These 5 digits are getting stored in IQ02.
How can i get the customer specific serial number available in production orders in IQ02.

Already i am having prodn order- serial number link.
Request you to provide any BAPI 's are available so that i can access ser05 and objk and get the created serial number and pass this to BAPI and create the serial numbers once again in IQ01.
Also how to define and where to define that serial numbers are external.

Retrieve batch from serial number in MIGO transaction

Dear all Gurus,
My company already implement ECC6.0 with IS-Retail function. And I have some concern that my company would like to activate batch for control the stock at DC and Store level and some articles also control serial number.
When I would like to move the stock (ex. stock transfer between storage location MVT 311) in sap system I need to specify the batch first and specify serial number later. But in the physical stock what we know is serial number. So would it be possible to specify serial number first and let's the system to find out batch from serial number?
And one concern it's possible that serial numbers that I select maybe have different batch number.
Ex. Serial Number 1 belong to batch A
      Serial Number 2 belong to batch B
      Serial Number 3 belong to batch B
When posting in MIGO transaction it's should to split in 2 line
First line Mat xxx      Qty 1 Batch A Serial Number 1
Second line Mat xxx Qty 2 Batch B Serial Number 2, 3
Have anyone already have some case like this? Please help to suggest possible solution.

I have some experience in Batch Management with IS Retail ECC 6. I believe their is a valid solution to it.
coming to your query of way to aviod manually assignment of batches and spliting it for the site to site stock transfer via mvt type 301 or 311.
we need to create Batch Search Strategy and Sort Rule for it. The steps to do it as follows.
1. Create a Characteristic via CT04 for batch handling in the search strategy with class type "23"table name "MCHA" and field name "CHARG". If you are working with fixed value of batches, define it as the characteristic values or if you have batches creating internally by the system, Put a * in it.
2. Create a class in CL02 with class type "23" and assign this newly created characteristic to it.
3. Now create a sort rule in CU70 and assign this same characteristic to it and select the ascending or desending check box based upon your choice of "FIFO" or "LIFO".
4. Now create a new strategy for batch determination while doing different inventory movements. Go to Logistics General  Batch Management  Batch Determination & Batch Check  Strategy Types  Define Inventory Management Strategy Type. Copy the standard one and create one for you and assign the class and sort sequence created above to it and define the number of spilts of batches, should happen, if in case one batch is insufflcient to handle the required movement of stock. maximum it could be 999.
5. Now create batch search procedure definition. Go to Logistics General  Batch Management  Batch Determination & Batch Check  Batch Search Procedure Definition  Define Inventory Management Search Procedure. Copy the standard one and create one for you and assign the condiiton type created in the step above (strategy) and save it.
6. Now assign the class created above to all the relevant article via CL20N.
7. Now assign batch search procedure to the relevant movement types. Go to transaction OMCG and assign the mvt type 301, 311 and other relevant movement types.
8. Maintain the condition record for the Batch Search Strategy via MBC1 / MBC2.
9. Activate Batch classification for goods movements via OMCV as per choice.

I have some concern about set article as the requirement for sale set my company would like to control inventory at component level and at the component level we required to control batch and serial number.
So, when posting GR of sale set article system will auto split material to control inventory at component level with MVT 319 and in this step should possible to manual define serial number for component.
Example
Header Sale Set A (Activate valuation type)
Comp1 : B (Activate serial number and control serial number during GR ref PO , control Batch)
Comp2 : C (Control Batch)
GR : Header Sale Set A

PS Batch/Droplet serial number not incrementing?

I'm hoping someone can provide a solution.
I'm trying to make a batch that ill then convert to a droplet so I can then use a watch folder to run the droplet. (Automate as much as possible, as I process a lot of files)
A little how I would process files at present: Open mockup in PS>run batch with action already created, once complete, move onto the next mockup.
Now the master mockup file I use has a smart layer that I place data into, this then transforms the pasted image into a mockup to represent the product.
Now the problem, the serial number does not increment as I'm trying to use a droplet I have to include an open and close command for the mockup, this then stops the number incrementing. (The number must be attached to the PS file). This then keeps exporting the files and over riding 001 every time.
We use extend script with illustrator daily so I'm not sure if using this is a solution?

Try using the Image Processor Pro in the action you used to create the droplet. If the output file exist that script will generate the next name. Actions can not use logic on their own. If the droplet you create has a problem naming the output file that it replaces files rather then generating the next name the action you created the droplet needs to use some scripting. See that the output file exists and if it does generate a unique name upping the sequence number till its unique one that does not exists. Actions can not use logic without using a script.
The Image Processor script is not a plug-ij it will always show its dialog. The Image Processor Pro script is a Photoshop Plug-in It will bypass displaying iys dialog when user by playing the action step that was generated recording its used. What it recorded will be used. Once installed the Image Processor Pro script is accessec and recorded usinf menu File>Automate>Image Processor Pro... Where the non plug-in Image Processor the ships with Photoshop is Access via menu File>Scripts>Image Processor. It does not have plug-in support programmed in. It can not record settings into an actions step.
When you record the IPP action the dialog will show and IPP will record the settings used into the action step, When the action is played the dialog will not show instead the recorded setting will be use. If you do not turn on that action step dialog.
There is no requirement to use the bridge.... Infact if you use the bridge to select files then use menu tools Photoshop Image processor Pro you will not be using your droplet or action.. If you set up the IPP dialog to use your action that uses IPP I think it may fail recursive use of a plug-in is questionable.

my client wants to co relate the serial numbers with batch number
ie, for a partcular batch number i need to assign a serial number range
    example:-needs a report as follows
     barand - batch number- sr.no end -sr.no start
   ie for a particular batch number of goods produced was uniquly identified by the
      serial number so that batch will de determined by the serial number range

Batch or Serial Number

My client has this requirement.Client is a chemical industry
Normally we produce ie. 1.000 unit material on a single production cycle on SAP and each stock unit has the same batch number (ie. 100045) on it. Currently when we are producing those 1.000 unit, we are printing number from 1 to 1.000 to each unit. But when I sell number 870 to customer A, I can not trace it on SAP, because I only know that customer A has purchased from batch 100045. On SAP I can see which customers purchased from batch 100045 but I can not analyse the sales by unit production sequence number.
Can we use serial number for the same?
Can we use serial number and batch number both?
Please put your valuable suggestion.

**Batch managed and serial number managed partial stock bin 2 bin transfer

Hi Experts,
I have my stock which is batch managed and also serial number managed. Now if i want to perform partial stock transfer from one bin to another i use LT01 with movement type 999 i am able to see the batch (suppose i just want to transfer material 1 of batch # 100). This batch # 100 has 10 materials with different serial numbers. But when i use LT01 i can see the batch of the material but not the specific serial number of the material that i am transferring.
My question----- Is there any specific transaction where i can also see the serial number of that material that i am transfering to another bin or is it some thing that needs to be customized?

if this field is not ready for input you have set the stock check to '02 Error' in your serial number profile in order to ensure
consistency between the stock data of serial numbers and inventorymanagement.
In this case you have to do a material movement posting inMB11 with movement type 309 (material to material). Enter the new batch as batch of the receiving material. This movement will update both the master batch and the stock batch of the serial number.

Serial number inquiry

I am looking for the quickest way to view the transaction history of a specific serial number. For example I want to see the PO no., Rcpt no., Invoice no., etc...
The serials number management report basically provides the data I want, but in the Selections Criteria window Numberings tab the serial number from/to doesn't have a lookup function. Is this window my only or best option?

You can set one or more FS to the Serial Number Transaction Report - Selection Criteria window and select from the list provided by the FS. E.g. to the Serial Number From and To field you can connect this FS:
SELECT IntrSerial From OSRI Where ItemCode=$[OSRI.ItemCode]

SWAP Equipment using IE4N, without serial number and material, it is possible?

Hi PM Experts, I´ve been reading about the way to SWAP equipments from his functional location without using serial number and material, I think if it is not possible, but to be honest, I cannot find any logical answer for it, since equipment number is unique for a plant. Does anyone have found any work around for it?.
I don’t want to use serial numbers and materials, because I think the process is really simple, since the client does not want to implement the refurbishment process. If there is a break down, here is what I do:
Case 1:
Dismantle damage equipment (Say PM01 Order Type)
Install new equipment (same PM order)
TECO the actual PM order
...Later
Case 2:
Create a new PM orden (say PM01 Order Type)
Repair the break equipment
TECO this new PM Order
Here are the inconsistencies:
What happen with the MTTR and MTBR reports?
In case one, I´ll create the material as equipment, while I´m installing, starting date for his master data is the installation day, and the MTTR and MTBR will start to run. This is ok.
What happened in case 2?, I need to stop the “clock” for the MTTR and MTBR of the dismantle equipment.
This is the reason why, I would like to use IE4N, but since there are no serial number and material, I cannot.
Can anyone please suggest a workaround for this scenario?.
I´m thinking in use INAC (Object Deactivated) system status, can this status help me?, Does this status “stops” the clock for MTTR and MTBR report?. If I change the status to ACT, I´ll get the clock back running?.
How about dismantle the equipment?, It will get the AVLB Available status, but the problem is, this equipment will be “floating” in the whole PM structure and I do not want it. I want to have it in a specific Functional Location but with this status, is this possible?. I woul like to use IE4N to SWAP UTs and later change the status to AVLB Available status, with and exits.
I thinking in an Equipment Status and a “Z” MTTR and MTBR report, based on this status. But to be honest, I´d like a standard solution for it.

For find my iPhone to work, the device has to be powered on and it has to be connected to a network (Cellular or WiFi). Find My iPhone uses your AppleID as the account to search for. Maybe the "guys" you were talking to were referring to a 3rd party application that essentially lo-jacks your device. But even then, it would still require Power and a network.
I don't believe that there is currently a way to flag a specific serial number for location.
