Reg: Battery replacement in Nokia 6300

Hi friends,
I have an Nokia 6300 mobile with BL-4C 86omah battery in it which drains quickly.
Can we use an BL-5C battery in place BL-4C in Nokia 6300?
I will be grateful to you if someone guides me in this issue.

No the BL-4c is slimmer then the BL-5c.
It will not fit

i have 6120 as well... it is amazing how this small BL-4C in 6120 can do better compared to the BL-5C in E50... i think the CPU and the FP1 can really works wonders in the battery department...
    any others got their replacement???

  • I Need A Better Battery For My Nokia 6300

Because I end up having to charge it ALL time, can anyone direct me to what I need exactly?
    thanks

You can also increase battery life by switching off things like Bluetooth, WLAN and GPS when not in use.
Also, if you have a 3G handset but don't actually use data or video calling (services that require or at least benefit from 3G coverage), then set the phone to use GSM only instead of dual mode. Constantly switching from one system to the other drains your battery.

  • Nokia 6300 Poor battery life

I have a new Nokia 6300. It seems to have a very pathetic battery life. It doesn't last a day with nrmal usage and not more than one and a half day with no usage at all. Does any one else have this issue or the problem is specific to my set.

I agree, it's either a faulty phone or battery. You should get at least 2 to 3 full days with very little useage.
I'd visit a care point and get it checked out if I was you.

    Yeah nj7_ i'm craving for that setting.Unfortunately,brightness adjustment isn't present on Series 40 V3 phones We're still waiting an answer from Nokia.AFAIK,previous series 40 v2 phones had this setting..eg N5140 and N5140i.
Factors that can drain the battery fast on N6300
    -16Million colour display
-It uses a BL-4C 820mah(Which is kinda insufficient)
    -The screen is very bright

    leave bluetooth and gprs off
Allow the phone to completely discharge before recharging.
When it reaches full, take it off the power. Complete this cycle a few times and you may find that the battery life does increase somewhat. Some people have reported being  able to get an extra day or so out of the battery following this procedure.
    Turn off the screen saver.
When the screen saver is enabled, the screen stays lit up for quite a while after you have locked the keypad. This drains power needlessly so I recommend you turn this off.
    Turn sleep mode off.

  • Nokia 6300 life battery....

yeah, my brand new nokia 6300 is doing pretty bad.
the life of the battery is quite short, just 2 days if I'm using it.
    any idea?
    cheers

If you carry a spare along with your phone in your pocket, it may cause a short-circuit on your phone...Beware of it!
FYI: Newer BL-4C batteries are rated with 860mAh capacity.

  • Spare battery for nokia 6300

i have just bought myself a nokia 6300 knowing the power durability issue (3-4 days vs. 14 days specified by the manufacturer)and i'm wondering if anyone knows if a compatible lihium-polymer battery is available or at least a li-ion battery with more than
    820mAh.

Definitely, even using a non Nokia brand compatible battery or copy/clone battery technically voids the warranty. But how are the people at the repair center they going to know unless you walk into the Nokia Care Center with the wrong battery installed in the phone. Also, I have yet to see a phone damaged by using a non-Nokia copy or clone battery. So I wouldn't worry about voiding the warranty. The only thing to worry about is whether it will damage your phone or provide substandard performance.
Although I'm definitely not recommending using non-Nokia batteries in your phone, I would note that I have actually used some pretty good non-original Nokia batteries, that especially I like to use when tethering my phone to a laptop which puts a lot of stress on the battery. I would rather put that kind of stress on a cheap US$11 clone battery than the expensive original Nokia battery. I don't feel bad about wearing out a cheap clone battery quickly. Generally, the original batteries provide a bit longer talk and standby time but they are expensive compared to the copy batteries.

  • The Nokia BL-5C battery replacement program

I have a BL-5C battery with heating problem.
So, I go the official pages:
    http://batteryreplacement.nokia.com/batteryreplacement/en/
As the number of requests for battery replacements has declined, the replacement program
will from now on be handled by the Nokia Care.
    I followed the website steps.
    The pages turn out:
Your battery is among those manufactured by Matsushita between December 2005 and November
2006 and your battery may be replaced. Please call the Nokia Call Center nearest you to get
    the replacement battery.
    So, I contect Nokia(Macau SAR).
They said the program have been stoped, can't give me any help.
    here is a question.
Is the program really turned down?
If it already turned down, what about the begin page?
(the replacement program will from now on be handled by the Nokia Care. )
    anyone help? pls?

I would advise you to contact the Nokia Store in Macau directly:
    Chinese: http://www.nokia.com.hk/A4697334
    Eng: http://www.nokia.com.hk/A4701001
They should be able to replace your battery.

  • Nokia 6300 front fascia / housing

Does anybody know how to remove the front of this phone (Nokia 6300) in order to clean & replace keypad?  We tried removing it in the normal (Nokia) way by gently pulling, and now the bottom of the fascia does not fit back as tightly as it did. There are two small screws at the bottom of the phone under the battery cover, are these anything to do with holding it in place?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

We are not allowed to discuss dismantling here because only Nokia service points are authorised to make such repairs. You should contact your local place, especially if your phone is still under warranty, because you risking dmaaging the phone and invalidating the warranty if you try to do it youself.

    Hy xsever,
I'm just regestered to tell you that I have the same boring problem... I've bought my 6300 2 weeks ago and the last 2-3 days when I try to read my SMS messages a window appairs showing this message (translated from italian) : "Invalid application: Delete?". If you choose "Yes" another window reply you with "Memory card removed".
I'm alredy went to the shop looking for explanations and they told me that probably are firmware/software problems and they suggest my to leave the c-phone there.
Personally I think it could be hardware problems...

  • Nokia 6300 opening back cover

Hi. One of my friends has just purchased a new Nokia 6300, and I've been trying to set it up for him. However, I am struggling at the first hurdle - I can't open the back cover. I have looked at the instruction manual and main website demo which shows pushing down around the 2 megapixel print on the cover and pushing down. This does not work.
I have also searched on Internet search engines which has turned up two other methods of opening the back, neither of which work.
The first was to press in further down the back cover at either side.
The second was to hold it in one hand and use the palm of the other hand to press it down and away from you.
Please can someone help me as to how to open the back cover of this phone

Well, it does get easier after you have removed and replaced the battery cover about 10 times or so. But it still takes more effort than most Nokias. The benefit is that the phone has a real solid feel.
My technique is just to grab the battery cover by either side and squeeze hard and pull down. It doesn't seem to move at all but if you look, there should be a barely perceptible very small gap at the seam between the cover and the camera part of the phone. A barely visible space that is just big enough to slide a finger nail in. Once you can get a finger nail in, it is easy to just do that and pull the cover 1/2 inch further down and then lift it off.
I really like the solid build on this phone, although I too initially had trouble getting the battery cover off.Message Edited by mongatu on 02-Dec-200710:36 AM

  • URGENT!! Nokia 6300 issue please help

Hi, Basically I turned my Nokia 6300 off the other night and when I turned it back on it starts up as normal, However when I try to put my security code in and press OK it just freezes and wont let me into my phone. I havent forgotten my security code as I have used this code plenty of times so it must be a phone issue. Ive tried various ways for example: putting in a different sim or trying it without the sim or removing the battery etc but the problems the same!! Please can anyone help??
    thanks.

Have you tried removing the memory card too?
It sounds like the OS has become corrupted to me. I've had it happen on a 6233.
Unfortunately if this is the case there is no way for the user to recover it from this state. If it can't boot then it can't be reset or have it's firmware reloaded by the user. It can't even be backed up.
Your only option is to take the phone to a nokia care point and they can reload it's firmware. Sadly all of your info, files, programs will be wiped from the phone.

  • Nokia 6300 - Data Recovery - Please Help !!!

    HI....
I had been using the Nokia 6300 for the past 10 months and had encounter no problem at all. But do not know why, suddenly 2 days ago, the phone just suddenly freezed. I tried to turn off and turn on the phone, but I just can't enter into the menu. when the phone is turn on, only see the 'Nokia' wording, then the whole screen is just white and can only see the battery logo. It can't be turn off, need to remove the battery. I haven't back-up my contacts and smses yet, when this happen. Would like to know if anyone can help. I am really desperate now. All the contacts and smses are very important. Is there any way or method, that I can use, so that I can save the datas?
    Thank you.

If the phone won't start up, all you can do is take it to a service centre for repair. If your phone is under warranty, then damage caused by something going wrong in software updater is covered as a free repair.
