Reg Bex authorisations
Hi all..........
Iam trying to work on Bex....iam able to create and execute queries.......but when i work in analyser iam not authorised to see the data......
i have been authorised with rs_comp........
Pls let me know about this issue
Hi Bhanu - you will need auth objects :
1) S_RS_AUTH: 0BI_ALL
2) S_RS_COMP
3) S_RS_COMP1
4) S_RS_ERPT
5) S_RS_FOLD = F
6) S_RS_PARAM
Also I would suggest you to activate trace on your user through 'ST01', logs will show clearly which auth objects are being touched. At most of the times SU53 is not helpful...atleast for me in BI 7.0
We are using BI 7.0 and users faced similar auth issue like you, I figured out few more auth objects on ST01 trace:
S_RS_HIER
S_RS_MPRO
S_RS_ODSO
S_RS_RSTT
S_RS_TOOLS
While assigning these auth objects I would say you need to be cautious on narrowing down field level....our BA's did negative testing did not see any harm.
I hope it helps you little bit!
Thanks!

BEx Authorisation: ODS objects
Hi,
RS_COMP only has a line for specifying authorisation for InfoCubes. Is there not an equivalent for ODS objects. RS_ODSO does not provide the same nature of authorisation.
Any idea?
Regards, LeaHi Lea,
specify the ODS name: the matchcode is a little bit unfaithfull. For more infos see OSS Note 540720 - "FAQ: Information on S_RS_COMP and S_RS_COMP1". There's written:
1. How can I create authorizations for other InfoProviders besides InfoCubes? The authorization objects only provide an INFOCUBE field.
The authorization object was created when only InfoCubes existed in BW, which explains why this field was selected.Since you can no longer change authorization objects, this name remains even though, technically speaking, the field is used to check the InfoProvider. This means that you can specify any InfoProvider (such as InfoCube, InfoSet, MultiCube) with the INFOCUBE field.
... and I would add "ODSs"!
Hope it helps

Hello all,
Could any one of you please let me know how to use calculatable Key Figures prefarably with example.
Thanks in advance.
BalajiHi BALAJI...
In Calculated Key Figures, we create a formula to calculate a value using Key Figures or Restricted Key Figures or even predefined Calculated Key Figures.
They are used where we want to calculate some new value which is not available in our Info Provider and can be obtained by manupulating or calculating the Key Figure's values....
For Example....
(1) Suppose I want to calculate the difference in the volume for two years, then we can calculate it with the help of CKF.
(2) We can count the no. of orders, etc...
Like this, we can use it at many places....
To create a CKF, Open ur query ---> go in infoprovider area ---> under key figures folder ---> right click on Calculated Key Figures ---> New Calculated Key Figures ---> click on edit button at d right side ---> now in General tab write down ur formula using key figures u want to use in detail editor space. Save & use it....
I hope this will help u..
If u need any further explanation, plz let me knw...

Download Scheduler - required authorization?
Hi,
I have prepared precalcalculated report for user and he is supposed to
be able to download this report using the download scheduler. But when he runs
the download scheduler an error message occurs before it finishes. I tried
giving him a SAP_ALL access just to test if it has something to do with his
BW authorization, and it did work. Does anyone know what authorization
object I used for this (of course I can't give him SAP_ALL).
Thanks for your reply.
Best Regards,
roseHi,
You can go to 'help.sap.com' and use the following path:
SAP BIW-> Data warehousing -> Data warehouse management -> Authorisations -> authorisation for working with BEx -> Authorisations to work with a Query.
The above would provide you with a comprehensive list of all that is required.
Hope this helps.

Authorisation in Business Objects Explorer Infospaces created on BEx query
Hello,
We have installed Business Objects Explorer, created Universe on BEx query and created a Explorer Infospace on that universe. everything works fine but the authorisations created for the user in BEx query are not taken into consideration when I login using SAP username "leveraging" SSO.
Is Explorer not designed to consider authorisations in BEX query?
Whats happening during Indexing of an Infospace? Will the system save the data in Business Objects repository from the source of the data?
Thanks in advance.
/SumanHi Suman,
You are right , Explorer is not designed to leverage Authorisations in SAP BW.
Polestar is indexing data and keeping it out side of BW. Although you can log in with SSO , it doesn't check the authorization according to BW, it shows everything indexed.
You can have a workaround if the case is simple such as;
Suppose you have 3 region , you can create 3 infospaces and give these authorizations to users from CMC.
But if you really want to use all features of authorization in BW , it is impossible for now.

BEX Selection Screen Authorisations
Hi all,
I have developed a new authorisation role for a demand planner in APO. Part of its function is to allow the user to run a BEX report on a remote cube. This is working, apart from the selection screen when running the BEX query does not appear. This is NOT due to personalisation of variables.
When I grant the same user the SAP_ALL profile, the selection screen appears when repeating this test. I have ran traces and gone through the SAP_ALL profile and ensured that every BW object I could see existed in my new role.
Sadly I have not reached an answer as to what is missing in my role. Any ideas?
I appreciate any help you can give on this matter.
Kind regards,
NickHi Ravi,
There is one characteristic in the query that I've made authorisation relevant, 'Sales Org'. I have added the associated authorisation object to the role and as a test I've also given full access to this object in PFCG. This is why I would still expect it to prompt me with a selection screen.
Sadly this is not the case. Do you have any other ideas? I do believe it is to do with at least 1 other SAP standard authorisation object, I just can't find which one it is.
Thanks, Nick -
Authorisation issue regarding BEX Broadcaster
Hi all
Does anyone know why I maybe getting an authorisation issue attempting to broadcast a pdf report via the Bex broadcast tool?
The recipient user has all the relevant authorisations and roles attached, and when this report is previewed in Bex Report Designer, the report runs fine showing all the data for the report, However when the report is scheduled via the Bex broadcaster, the broadcast fails. RSRD_LOG shows the following message
Java communication error: RFC destination NOT_CONFIGURED does not exist.
Message no. RSBOLAP017
And in T-code sm21, I get the following error
X MESSAGE BRAIN 299: SAPLRSEC_CHECKS
RSEC_GET_AUTH_HIER_FOR_USER:NOHIE
This indicates that there is an authorisation error with my user, however as mentioned earlier all the authorisation objects and roles seem correct as the report runs fine as I can preview in bex report designer with no authorisation problems at all.
I have also executed the report in T-code RSECADMIN this also shows no errors in the error log and the report runs fine here too.
Please can anyone advise?
Thanks
ForhadHi Forhad,
I'm not sure if the error is related to the communication between the Java and the BW or if it's a problem with the authorization.
Are you using a customer exit or an authorization variable in your query/bookmark?
Check if by chance your query have an hirarchy assigned to a characteristic, then, check the user's authorization and check whether you have enough authorization for the hierarchy.
I'm unsure, but maybe note 916090 can help you.
I hope it helps.

BO Authorisation implementation from BEx Query Variable
We have created a BEx query which is will be used a source for OLAP Universe.
For implementing Security>> In NW-BI, we have used a Master data, Authorisation Relevant-Info Object called "Authorisation Key"
Next >> In BEx query, In "Filters" TAB, created a variable of type Processed By- Authorization.
Now, my question is how this security implementation that is assigned in:
NW-BI >> BEx query >> Will be implemented on BO Lanscape.
I know that the user in BO Landscape will log-in with credentails of type SAP.
Thank you in advance.
- AksHi,
As you have created the Variable on top of the query then the same will be hold true while consuming the same in Business Objects tool.
Once you create OLAP Universe based on this and while using this universe in any report creation tool, the variable as prompt will be displayed while generating the report.
If you want some more security then you can implement on the universe created with the query.

Hi Gurus,
I am doing sales trend reporting in bex....I have 4 key figures which all gives sales Amt created using some variables.
my Selection creteria is calmonth/Yr
Key fig 1 - should show the sales of selected month
Key fig2 - should show the sales of selected month for prev yr
Key fig3 -should show the sales of starting of yr to selected month
Key fig4 - should show the sales of starting of yr to selected month for prev yr...
Every thin is fine...but my problem is when i give the current month how can i show my sales ?
ie (1) Selection month = September 2007 ( which only a portion completed)
Current month: data from 9/1/2007 thru 9/26/2007 (i.e., all the data we currently have for September)
Same month prior year: data from 9/1/2006 thru 9/30/2006 (i.e., the data for the full month of 9/2006)
Current YTD: data from 1/1/2007 thru 9/26/2007
Prior YTD: data from 1/1/2006 thru 9/30/2006
Please give me ur suggestion how to create the variables for the KF 1 and KF3 ?
the coding for variable of KF3 which is used for
LOOP AT i_t_var_range INTO loc_var_range.
IF loc_var_range-vnam(7) = 'ZSELMON'.
v_year = loc_var_range-low+0(4).
v_month = loc_var_range-low+4(02).
CONCATENATE v_year '01' INTO l_s_range-low.
CONCATENATE v_year v_month INTO l_s_range-high.
l_s_range-sign = 'I'.
l_s_range-opt = 'BT'.
APPEND l_s_range TO e_t_range.
EXIT.
ENDIF.
ENDLOOP.
Regards,
BAALAJIhi Balaji,
firstly can you please confirm if your input variable is Day interval or Month interval.
ok if it is all up to ur requirement. please create a variable on cal month to show current month or use one of the standard once.
restrict it with your KF to get your KF1.
Create a new RKF and in this use cal month variable used earlier and give a offset value 0f -12 and this gives you you KF3
please find this code for month variable it might help.
when 'ZMONTH1'.
Get the user input day from ZCALDAY
if i_step = 2.
read table I_T_VAR_RANGE into z_t_var_range
with key VNAM = 'ZCALDAY'.
if sy-subrc eq 0.
if not z_t_var_range-LOW is initial.
ZE_T_RANGE-SIGN = 'I'.
ZE_T_RANGE-OPT = 'EQ'.
ZE_T_RANGE-LOW = z_t_var_range-LOW+0(6).
endif.
else.
ZE_T_RANGE-SIGN = 'I'.
ZE_T_RANGE-OPT = 'EQ'.
ZE_T_RANGE-LOW = SY-DATUM+0(6).
endif.
APPEND ZE_T_RANGE TO E_T_RANGE.
clear ZE_T_RANGE.

Reg: Turkish characters issue on BW 3.10 Bex level and RSRT
Hi,
We are facing the same problem with the turkish characters, Our system is BW 3.10 (3.30 Cont) and ECC 6.0. The turkish characters are displaying correctly at the table level, but not at the RSRT or the Bex level.
The turkish characters are displaying correctly at the table, RSRT and Bex level if we load the same record from the Non-unicode Prod system to the Non-unicode BW Dev system, but if we load from the unicode QA system the same record is not displaying correctly.
Has anybody got a solution for this issue
thanks
KalyanHi,
Yes, we installed transport request, which came with Integration Kit in our BW System.
We are also facing another issue,
ISSUE 2:
We have another publication with oracle DataSource , where we need to publish report(personalized) for 200 users.
Even we configured dedicated processing server for that publication and setting maximum no of connection to 250, it is throwing error like maximum no of concurrent connection reached.
Previously it was working with just 50 connections.
Now we are running this report by setting max no of connection to 500, and doing service restart after each publication.
Otherwise next publication will throw same error again.
Guide me on this also.

Authorisation controle on variabel in Bex query
Hi,.
One variable is defined with Custemer exit on Profit center Hierarchy.
Authorisation controle is defined on this to see his own profit center values for each user.
Now we have created new report and the same variable is being used in this report.
Now want to take out the existing Authorisation controle and give access to see all profit center values on this report for the users who are executing this report.
Hoe can i achieve this in the new report.
Pllease provide your inputs.
Re4gards,
Siva.Hi Jacob,
Actually i am not aware of these authorisation concept.
I was told by by business that there is an authorisation contrloe is being used on the variable such that one use executes the report then he can see only his profit cenmter values.
Now in the new report there shouldnt be any authorisation controle and all profit center values could be visible for the users.
Where can i see the authorisations which are defined for the variable and what type.
And how can i take out the existing authorisation?
Please let me know any impacts if take out the same..

GIRISH harish ramesh
Rs.10000 Rs.404004 Rs.293029
like this, kindly suggest me to print in the output in the label format.
i will assign points if my query solved.
Thanks in advance.
GiriVenkata,
It is very easy to create such report.
1. Open the BEx Query Designer
2. IF you are using 7.0 you will see tabs with Filter and Rows/Colum
3. Goto Rows/ Column
4.You must be using KEy Figures for Years of Exp, Years of Service
drag those in the rows
5. SAve the query and execute it using the BEx Analyzer. Open Query.
Ask some ones help for the Name spacing standards you follow in your organization
