  • BlackBerry User Tools install hang

    Put in the cd on a Dell Dimension 630 Laptop running XP and click 'start' on the Cd and it brings up a new 'blank' window with BlackBerry User Tools up in the top left corner and nothing else. Just hangs there.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks.

  • Problem with Blackberry user tools cd

    Hello, please help, i just got a Blackberry 8100 from Ebayusa and the user tools CD that was sent with it has something else recorded on it. Which software do i need to download please?
    Many thanks.

    Assuming you're using the Facebook app for the iPhone, this is something you'll need to take up with Facebook, as they developed the app. Apple has nothing to do with that (other than making it available on the App Store), and "we" on these forums are just users like you.
    If you go to the Facebook app on the App Store, you'll find a link to contact the developer for support.

  • Reg : Blackberry Torch development

    Any IDE or UI tool available for Blackberry Torch development?

    I recently explored this requirement and came up with the following article...
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/a086ce1e-b551-2b10-e4ba-bf7ac5e4b2d6
    if your report just has a basic selection screen with parameters (no select options), radiobuttons and checkboxes, then you can replicate the selection screen in webdynpro and view the output over there as well....
    hope you find it useful..

  • Blackberry User Tools Disc

    Hey folks. I just have a question about the user tools disc.
    If I download the info from that disc into my desktop pc and then decide to later change my device, is it easy to uninstall whatever downloads from that disc from my computer? Or will a lot of info be imbeded into my pc? The reason I ask is because I just got a new pc and my Blackberry in my opinion is due for an upgrade and I'm not really sure if I will stay with Blackberry. I like my device and it was my first smartphone but I go prepaid and right now there are some really good prepaid devices on the market so I am just undecided at this time. Not to mention that Blackberry has not put out another device in the prepaid market other than the Curve 8530 that I am aware of...
    Thanks

    Hello Huntmarv,
    You should be able to download the BlackBerry Desktop Software and anything else required on the disk from the following location:

  • Blackberry user tools locks up computer

    Running Vista Home addition w/SP2
    Computer has an Intel T6400 @ 2 Ghz.; 4GB ram; 64 bit system.
    BB : tour
    Inserted the disk and ran set-up.  Locked up the computer big big big time.  Couldn't even shut it down using task manager.  At first I  thought  there was something wrong with the  disk.  Had  to manually shut down the computer.  The next time it started it I received the message "Windows could not start the computer.  Will try to locate a solution."  It managed to start the computer but the settings for programs and even data within programs was kaput.  Took 2 days to get everything back in  order so you can imagine my apprehension of repeating the process.  I see others iin this group have had similar problems.  Frankly to have one of  the biggest advantages of a Blackberry compromised by crap software is disturbing.
    I saw suggestions in this group about downloading DTM 5.0.  My question is it comes with and without Media Manager and I have no idea which one to download and install.

    I would suggest the verion withOUT the Media Manager. The MM seems to be a large bloated software not really needed.

  • Reg : Blackberry Z10 switched OFF

    Hi I got my blackberry mobile in Amazon at last month, I am facing the problem that the battery is having 20% of charge eventhough my phone is gng to sitched OFF for some time

    Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain directly connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB, not a cradle):
    With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
    Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
    Remove the battery
    Wait 15 minutes
    Insert the battery
    Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
    This has been known to "kick start" some BBs. If that does not cure it, then do the process again, but this time increase the wait on step 4 to 2 hours, and perhaps as long a 4-5 hours.
    It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:
    Obtain an known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
    Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
    The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem. Note carefully please that "new" and "know good" are not necessarily the same things. While rare, a "new" battery certainly could be defective. Rather, the simplest (and least costly, btw) method to conduct this test is to find someone with an identical BB who has no issues...trade batteries and see what happens.
    Good luck and let us know!

  • Error 2738 on Window XP Home Edition when loading Blackberry User Tools

    Uhg, I am so frustrated!  I received an internal error 2738, could not access VBscript when I tried to load the software with my new Blackberry Curve 8330 Smartphone.  I tried registering the vbscript.dll file and received an error DllregisterServer in vbscript.dll failed. Return code was: 0x80004005.  I have tried to register as the administrator by following these directions: click on the start button then click on run then type cmd and press enter. From the command prompt type cd\ , then type cd windows\system32, then type regsvr32 vbscript.dll and press enter.  It didn't work either.  Does anyone have any idea how I can get the darn software on my computer!

    don' be frustrated anymore ! Just read :

  • Can't uninstall or install any Blackberry software?

    I just loaded in my disk for the Blackberry User Tools, and therefore it installed the Desktop Manager, Device Manager and the Media Manager. Since this, I uninstalled Roxio Media because I didn't want the program, and now nothing works.
    When I try to open Device Manager, nothing happens. My Blackberry Media Manager has gone completely, and I cannot uninstall the Blackberry Desktop Software 5.0.1 ... I really want to get rid of it and install a new version because it isn't working.
    I tried using the User Tools disk, and it's not recognised anymore and the 'run.exe' isn't coming up like it did before. I can't uninstall the software due to an error 1500 (An install is taking place, wait for this to finish before changing other programs). I'm not installing anything!
    I've tried to install new software, but I get the same error message and am stuck with lots of software that currently isn't working. Please help me.

    Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
    I can't specifically tell what you've tried and not tried, so I suggest the following steps (insert plenty of reboots of your PC...not just restarts, but full power down reboots). Also, it is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything.
    1) Remove your device OS update package from your PC (add/remove programs)
    2) Cleanly uninstall the RIM DTM software:
    KB02206 How to perform a clean uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software
    3) Get a fresh download of the RIM DTM software:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    Choose the version that is newest and (if applicable) compatible with your PIM (if you are synchornizing via USB):
    KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager for synchronization
    4) Download (to your PC) a fresh copy of your device OS package from your carrier:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    5) Install DTM to your PC
    6) Install (also to your PC), the device OS package
    Hopefully that will get things going again.
    Good luck and let us know!

  • Wanted to install the blackberry device on my mac??

    Hey there!
    Does the blackberry device cdrom (blackberry user tools?) work with macs? Because it shows up but when I try to launch it nothing shows up.
    Thanks
    -Kayla

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    BlackBerry device CD that comes with your BB does not work on MAC. You need to download a program called PocketMac 4.1 from BlackBerry.com.
    With the MAC program, you can sync calender, contacts, task, notes from your email client, load applications.
    But features that comes with Desktop Manager (in the CD) like BackUp/Restore, Media Manager and email settings not available on PocketMac.
    If I've been helpful please consider giving me kudos. Please remember to resolve your thread .

  • Import net.rim.blackberry.api.phone.phonelogs.*;

    I have developed a midlet with WTK22 and I have successfully used the Blackberry rapc tool to compile it for the Blackberry where it runs very well. I would now like to import the Blackberry RIM classes in net.rim.blackberry.api.phone.phonelogs.*; to access the phone logs on the Blackberry.
    I can successfully compile a class that extends thread; imports net.rim.blackberry.api.phone.phonelogs.*; and then uses these classes. I can preverify the class by including the net_rim_api.jar in the classpath. I then jar this class with my other midlet classes in a jar library. However, when I try to compile the main midlet class with WTK22 using this phone log class, I get the following error:
    Building "afs"
    Error preverifying class afslib.afsphone
    VERIFIER ERROR afslib/afsphone.run()V:
    Cannot find class net/rim/blackberry/api/phone/phonelogs/CallLog
    Build failed
    From what I have read, it should be possible to use any Blackberry class in net_rim_api.jar as long as it is not part of the UI. Would someone please let me know what I am doing wrong.

    Thank you Hithayath for your response.
    Below is the full code from the class where I am using the classes from RIM:
    package afslib;
    import java.util.*;
    import java.lang.*;
    import net.rim.blackberry.api.invoke.Invoke;
    import net.rim.blackberry.api.invoke.PhoneArguments;
    import net.rim.blackberry.api.phone.phonelogs.*;
    import afslib.*;
    public class afsphone extends Thread
    String pnum;
    public afsphone(String pnum)
    this.pnum = pnum;
    public void run()
         PhoneLogs _logs;
              PhoneArguments call = new PhoneArguments(PhoneArguments.ARG_CALL,pnum);
              Invoke.invokeApplication(Invoke.APP_TYPE_PHONE, call);
              _logs = PhoneLogs.getInstance();
         PhoneCallLog pclog = (PhoneCallLog)_logs.callAt(0,PhoneLogs.FOLDER_NORMAL_CALLS);
              pclog.setNotes("string");
    The afsphone class is compiled, preverified and put into afslib which is imported in the main afs midlet class. When I build afs in the WTK I get the following error:
    Building "afs"
    Error preverifying class afslib.afsphone
    VERIFIER ERROR afslib/afsphone.run()V:
    Cannot find class net/rim/blackberry/api/phone/phonelogs/CallLog
    Build failed

  • Difficulty in Installing Blackberry Desktop Software

    I just bought a new Blackberry Curve 8320. And am having several difficulties with it which I will list separately.
    First.
    I have tried to install the Blackberry User Tools v4.2.2 CD, and it never finishes installing, to the point that I have to do an End Task. Please help.
    Second
    With other phones (like the Motorola RAZR V3t) I could send contacts from my Pocket PC HP iPaq via Bluetooth. When I try to do this with the Blackberry, the Pocket PC says that it cannot connect to the Object Push Profile (OPP) in the remote device (which is the Blackberry).
    Third
    With other phones (like the Motorola RAZR V3t) I could dial contact from my Pocket PC HP iPaq via Bluetooth. When I try to do this with the Blackberry, the Pocket PC says that it cannot connect to the Serial Port Profile (OPP) in the remote device (which is the Blackberry).
    Solved!

    Contacts in the address book can only be shared with Bluetooth enabled car kits
