Dear all,
I am in the process of exploring BPC NW 7.5 version.
So i searched for documnets in regard to this in SMP/help.sap ,found few guides..etc.
My question is apart from these guides ,do we have likes of TAB Files (Eg: BPC 310/320 ..etc ),for BPC NW 7.5 .
Or Whats the best practice to get consolidated list of Documents to get with.
Request if any body got the list do share.

Reg:Time excel file missing in BPC 7.5

Hi Experts,
1.I am trying to change the data model of time dimesion in APSHELL but i cannot find the file in the below mentioned path.
eData > Manage Conversion File > Examples > TIME.xls
2. How to change the Unit of measure data model?

Hi Vinoth,
Please check in the other sub-folders, if its available or not. Alternatively, you can try to create a conversion file and check whether thats available or not.
Didnt understand your statement "How to change the Unit of measure data model?"
What do you mean by this. BPC is an account based model. If you want to maintain some unit of measure, you need to maintain some dimension for that.

Reg:Copy package problem BPC 7.5

Hi Experts,
i am using standard data manager COPY Package to copy data from one category to another .While copying i use merge functionality but it clear all data in destination category and replaces the data.not sure its BI issue or BPC issue?

I know this post is old, but maybe someone is still looking.
In order not to lose data, you need to try and restrict the dimensions in the left side of the prompt to the members that you want to change, because the copy package first removes all data from destination and then writes the new records. It considers that if you want to copy something over, then data is already present so it doesn't need the old data. The records that will be deleted are selected using the key defined in the right side.
If you want to change a record with key ACC1+B1 to ACC1+B2, you need to specify on the left side ACC1+B1 and on the right side ACC1+B2 (obviously) and data on ACC2+B2 ACC3+B2 and ACC4+B2 will not be deleted, BUT only if this 2 fields represent your entire key.
If the key in your BPC Model contains also other dimensions, and you do not specify a member for them (left side ANY and right side SAME), the package will first delete all data using the right key and then copy the records from the source.
Let's say you also have the dimension TIME, so we need to copy ACC1+B1+2014.01 to ACC1+B2+2014.01, and we already have a record ACC1+B2+2014.02 present. If you set filter to ACC1+B1 on the left side and ACC1+B2 on the right side, the package will first use the right key ACC1+B2 to delete all data present (so the record ACC1+B2+2014.02 present will be removed) and then copy your data changing B1 to B2. However, if you also specify the field TIME in your filter, then the package will use the combination ACC1+B2+2014.01 in order to delete the data present in the system (at this point nothing) and then copy the data.

Hi All,
I understand when you run the input schedule all the default logic also gets executed, but my doubt is 'is this also triggered by a data manager' how does this mechanism work ?

Pre defined DM packages that are related to data loads prompts whether default logic to be run or not . For the Custom Dm packages , you can create copy of default logic ,and then run this copy of logic after your custom DM package .To run in sequence package link can be created.

BPC security can be used in SQL Reporting Services?

We are trying to implement SQL Reporting Services(RS) as web reports of BPC.
Is it possible to use BPC security user access control in SQL RS?
We know that SQL RS user access can be managed by windows domain, but we like to use BPC security as SQL RS user control.

Could you be more specific on what you are going to do with RS?
BPC, as you know, uses Windows AD. If you intend to use RS in BPC, you have already introduced Windows AD and BPC access security for RS. But only given RS report is eligible in this case.
If you want to make a report that refers to business data of BPC, and need to pass argument as query parameter such as what category, what entity, not possible actaully, no way to make it happen with standard feature of BPC. But you can think of possibility of customizing and need to find out how to pass the argument for a user(read ACS table containing security info).
Reg. the reporting tool, if you are using 7.5, BO products is aligned well. Xcelsius and Voyager will be a tool for your requirement.

BPC 7 (Microsoft) installed with incorrect regional settings

Hello experts
We have just established that our operating system was installed using the regional setting English (UK) instead of English (US). The symptom we currently have is that in the Report Library we get an error when sorting by date. We have been running BPC for around 4 months now and this is the only problem relating to dates that we have noticed.
We have been advised that the only way to correct this problem is to reinstall the operating system, SQL server and BPC.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Re-installing everything seems like a major undertaking for what appears to be such a small problem. What other problems are we likely to have in the future if we don't reinstall everything?
We are running a single server with:
- Windows 2003 Server R2 Enterprise Edition
- SQL Server Enterprise 2008
- BPC 7.0 (Microsoft) SP04
Any advice gratefully accepted.

Hi You don't need to reinstall.
You just have to do the follow steps:
1. Open COntrol Panel - Regional and Language Options
Advance section - Select English US reg settings and select check box: "Apply the current settings to default user...."
Press Apply and Ok.
2. Open registry editor using regedit command (in comand line)
Go to HKEY_USERS- .Default- Control Panel - International and make sur enow you have English US settings.
If you have then export this key International into a file. US.reg
Check all key from HKEY_USERS- S-1-......- Control Panel - International
If it is any of these key not English US then edit the US.reg and replace .Default with S-1-....
for all occurences.
THis will solve your issue.
Another solution is actually to change for all keys from HKEY_USERS
.Default - Control Panel - International all the date format to be US format not UK format.
But this is a more dangerous change and it was not complete tested.
I suggest the first one which was tested for other customers.

BPC Alternate hierarchy rollup issue - require help

We are seeing a rollup issue on Alternate Hierarchies. We had set-up alternate hierarchies on our Country Dimension (DC) to assist some managerial reporting that is only relevant to one of our Operating segments.
To show the problem, I am listing an example of our Country dimension member sheet. I have put "**" delimiter between the pertinent values to show which columns the values land under.

We have our main Country hierarchy that comes under the root parent MAIN_HIER. In addition to that on our main hierarchy we had a calculated node for Calc Europe (C1) which is supposed to be a summation of DC Europe (D1) + Country E (E). We had created an alternate hierarchy to represent a breakdown by more subregions (SG1, SG2, SG3 and Country E) within DC Europe so basically the root node of the alternate Hierarchy (ALT_HIER) should show the same amounts as the calculated node C1 on the main hierarchy.
If we take a higher level Account dimension member like NET_SALES the values tie out but if we take a base member in the Account Hierarchy (e.g one representing Customer Sales), the values don't match with the ALT_HIER values seem being the wrong ones. It almost seems like the rollups of the Alternate Hierarchy are not accurate.
Could you pls. shed some light on if the dimension member set-up above is wrong from any angle.
BTW, we are on BPC 7.0M SP04 Patch 2 and SQLServer version is SQLServer 2005 EE SP3.

Add "RollupChildren(Account.Hx.CurrentMember,"+") to all non-base members who don't aggregate properly under FORMULAHx. For instance, I have below hierarchy PARENTH1 for Balance Sheet Total Asset
BALSHEET
TotalAsset
-CurrentAsset
-NonCurrentAsset
If CurrentAsset and NonCurrentAsset all roll up fine but TotalAsset doesn't add up. In your Dimension, put MDX formula RollupChildren(Account.H1.CurrentMember,"+") for TotalAsset and BALSHEET under FORMULAH1.
We have this issue when we created additional hierarchies, and it took us a while to debug before I got this hint from SAP Support. Ever since it works like a charm =)

Can BPC Release 7.5.112.07 run on MicroSoft Excel 2013 (MS Office 365)?

Hi BPC Community,
Can BPC Release 7.5.112.07 run on MicroSoft Excel 2013? We are currently running BPC on Excel 2010. There's a new feature in Office 365, that when we bring up a new BPC report, Excel will open up essentially a new Excel application and the BPC add-in is not replicated in the new Excel application.
Our IT team mentioned updating registries to prevent a new Excel app for generating, but they said that this approach may revert (erase the reg update) once a new software update is done.

Hi Barry,
Microsoft Office 2013 is supported in BPC 10 sp13 and EPM Add-in sp14, support for BPC 7.5 will end on march 2016 so I don't think they will support it in 7.5 version also in future.
Forgot to add, same for office 365 not supported in 7.5 but only in 10 version with epm sp18 see please 1999305 - Microsoft Office 365 users are unable to install SAP EPM Add-in

How to use the RateEntity dimension in SAP BPC?

Hello everbody,
I am implementing a consolidation process using SAP BPC. I want to use the RateEntity dimension, to translate a same currency into different exchange rates depending on the company.
I want the company which ID is GFU (which is from Brazil) in LegalEntity dimension is converted using a special exchange rate. I have added a GFU member in RateEntity dimension, and I have entered the exchange rates for the member GFU and for the member Global in RateEntity dimension.
But the problem is that after I run the FX Restatement package, converted data for this company is not the proper one, because Global exchange rates have been used instead of GFU exchange rates. Does anybody know why? Do I have to do anything else?

How to hide member Account dimension from BPC Administrator for Reporting

Hi experts, i need to hide some members of the Account dimension for reporting, because those members dont use it anymore, but i dont want delete them.
The question is: Does it exist any propierties for this dimension type that allows hiding members in reporting without set members in the BPC for Excel?
I can create a report which contain the members i want to show, but if any change occurs (client desire) the report is outdated.

Ignacio,
There is no function like that.
You can choose below two options.
1. Create a property like 'NOUSE' and set a value 'Y' for unused member
When you create EVDRE report, set a filter against that property that has value 'N'
then those members will not be shown at the report.
2. Create 'NOUSE' parent member and put members under this parent member.
Maybe option 1 is more easier to do that.

Using a variable in an allocation routine in SAP BPC 7.5NW

Below is a very simple BPC allocation routine I wrote. The data originally sits on a dummy profit center and needs to be allocated to all itu2019s relevant profit centers. These relevant profit centers can be derived from the profit center hierarchy (BPC_ + ID of entity).
When I hardcode the Profitcenter and the entity, the routine works (as below). But what I really want is that it works variable as in the line that I commented out. Any idea whether this could work (BPC 7.5NW) ? If not, I am afraid I need to go to ABAP, which is really a pitty

It works now. I have implemented the below code (ENTITY needed to contain the variable as well). The relationship profitcenter and entity is very important as it derives the relevant profitcenters from the profit center hierarchy (e.g. all profitcenters under the legalentity node).

Error while creating a new Dimension/Model in BPC 10.0 NW

Hello Experts,
I am using BPC 10.0 NW system.
When I try to create new Dimensions or Models I get the following Error Message.
"Error in Admin module or a component used by Admin module.
Failed to create SAP NetWeaver BI InfoObject for dimension."
I am assigned to all the needed task profiles to create Dimensions and Models.
Please assist me to resolve this issue.

The error was coming because while creating the user id "SAP_ALL" Profile was not assigned. So I was not able to create Dimensions and models.
Now the issue is solved.

Type Mismatch error while saving a BPC Report using eTools

Hi,
Iam getting a 'type mismatch' error when trying to save a BPC Excel workbook using eTools>Save Dynamic Template >Company>eExcel. I am saving it as an .xlsx file.
Can anyone please help out and let me know why I am getting this error.
