Reg Content submission in SDN.

Hi,
I am facing this weird thing related to the Content Submission System.
I had submitted two articles on October 6th and 9th, this year. The status of these articles when i submitted was "Submitted" . Since that time till date, the status of the documents has not changed. I have sent mails to [email protected] 4-5 times asking when will the documents get published, and whether there is some issue related to them. But except for my first two mails, I did not get reply to any mail. The reply I got was that article is being reveiwed by the Content Strategist who is responsible for this area.
Can someone from the SDN team please help me out in this?

I have a similar issue what Dhanya has. I submitted an article on 3rd October. It is still in "Submitted" state in spite of sending mails to the Content Team.
This post of mine is not a rant against the Content Submission System. But I would really like to understand one small thing. How do some articles get published within a week of their submission date? I am assuming the date what the author puts in his article as creation date is equal to the submission date.
Take these two articles for example:

Link to content submission is not working

I am unable to access the article submission link. Following is the path that I am trying
Clicked on "How to Contribute" link at the top of SDN home page. Scrolled down to the section "ARTICLES, TUTORIALS, WHITE PAPERS AND RICH MEDIA" and then clicked on the link "Content Submission System". But every time I clicked on this link I got the following error message.
The webpage at https://sdnweb.sdn.sap.com/sdncss/SubmitterInfo.htm might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
Can someone provide me with the link to submit articles? Thank you!

i am trying this since 3 days , but the page does not seem to work, What is the OS? Have you tried to download from the different machine and/or using a different browser?

Query on Content Submission - Articles

Hi,
I am facing this weird thing related to the Content Submission System.
I had submitted two articles on January 8, this year. The status of these articles was initially "Submitted" and got changed to "To be Approved" in a month. Since that time till date, the status of the documents has not changed. I have sent mails to [email protected] 4-5 times asking when will the documents get published, and whether there is some issue related to them. But except for my first mail, I did not get reply to any mail. The reply I got in February was that my query has been forwarded to the concerned team and will be looked into soon.
I had submitted two documents last year, and both of them got published in a period of one and a half month each. I am wondering what's wrong this time.
Can someone from the SDN team please reply?

Hello Ankur,
The correct address to send inquiries about content submissions is [email protected] The people who respond to this address are the ones that process the documents submitted using the contribution system.
The people at the email address [email protected] have no access to this system and can only forward your messages to the other address.

SCN Content Submission: Is there any further information on the submission status?

Hi colleagues,
I understand and have read a couple of times that I can contribute content via the content submission (SAML Response from SAP ID Service).
and I see the status "Submitted" for my document.
The question is, is there a way to get more information about the current status of the submitted document? Or is the only information I get the mail "don't call us, we'll call you" , i.e. the automatically generated mail telling me that I'll be informed once the content is published and and that I'll receive a link to the published document?

You can contact the content team directly at [email protected] to determine the status of your submission.
fyi - After it has been published, you will receive an automatic eMail with the URL.

Hi,
Many of my co-workers recently received a SDN T-Shirt for crossing over 250 points, But I have earned more than 1100 points.But have not yet received any single mail/ intimation regarding T-Shirt by e-mail etc. till now. Let me know am II posting at the right area.

Security policy for my user is given as Default.

We need to know the below information on Content Server. We are new to Content Management Modules in Oracle Apps and are exploring along those lines. Pre-requisite to install Content Management Modules is the installation of Content Server.
Is this available for free download from the OTN Site?

Content Server is the core for all the modules, you need to install Content Server first and then any module you want.
You can download it from Oracle Site

If you want to use it for any commercial or production purposes then you will need to contact Oracle or Oracle reseller to acquire the apropiate license

Unable to Contribute on SDN

Hello Experts,
I had last submitted an article, which was published and I was duly awarded points for the same.
However, thereafter, I am unable to find the article on SDN and under my profile, the hyperlink is not enabled for the article.
Also, when I click on "Submit and Track Articles and Media", it gives me an error saying "This frame was blocked because it contains some insecure content."
Can someone please throw light on this issue.
Since I am unable to submit further content.

Hello David,
Thanks for the pointer. After a couple of tries, it is showing up the page in the same browser.
However, the other problem remains unresolved.
The latest article published is not getting displayed in SDN.
When I go to the Content Submission System and click on the article, it displays an error :
Sorry, you can't access this page with your current permissions (403 error).
You may be trying to access a page or document that requires community membership to see. If you're not a member yet, register now!
Or maybe you received a link to this page from another user with permissions different from your own, such as a user with internal permissions.
+However, if you believe this error is the result of a technical problem unrelated to your permissions, please take a screenshot of this page (usually Function + Print Screen), or copy the URL from the browser address bar along with the text of the error message and email it to [email protected] Please include your user ID in all correspondence.+

How to contribute ARTICLE in SDN

m new to SDN Forum and wanted to contribu Article in SDN Forum.
i have heard that
1) we have to download some Templates
2) and after creating Articles
3) submit it to SAP People so that they can approve it
Now my concern is that from wheare i can download thease TEMPLATES??
and how to sbmit it to SAP Guy's??

Firefox search plugin for SDN

Hi,
I have created a search plugin for Firefox. The files can be downloaded from http://www.hariraj.com/Firefox.SAPSDN_SearchPlugin.zip
Unzip the files to your "<<Firefox install dir>>\searchplugins" directory.
I have tested the plugin with Firefox 1.0.1
If someone has problems with other versions please let me know.

it searches all of SDN and displays the full navigation. In the moment there are several submission of SDN Search plugins. They are consolidated and published in the moment.

Business content activation in fresh implementation

Dear gurus
Kindly excuse me if its an old cliched topic...I am new to implementation and i have been assigned to an end-to-end implementation project..my early work would be to know if standard business content available in BI will suffice our requirement or not....kindly guide as to how proceed from very beginning..what should i do first and yes since i will have to activate the entire flow in BI...how to go about it....i dont know what all ia should ask...kindly help with your suggestions..

BI Content in IDES

Hi all there, my question is in what Release of IDES system besides SAP Netweaver 2004s BW/SEM I can find BI_CONT package already installed after the new installation? I can't install BI_CONT package later, so it has to be installed during the Server installation.

EP: Does it support diff content for same user (Intranet vs internet)....

Can a user say "abc" can have different content displayed while he logins from Internet or intranet.
I am trying to find an answer to above question:
We want to have one single production portal and this portal will be behind the outer firewall, DMZ and
If one user "abc" when trying to login from internet, he can access only the vendor information of the company and when the same user "abc" login from intranet, he can access both vendor information and HR information.

Second question: Planning to install Apache in DMZ. Does Apache installation is supported on the Virtual machine.

I posted this message in service markeplace, and got a reply from SAP, and they do not have out of box solution. Since the project is on aggressive schedule, may be this issue, which involves lot of devlopment needs to tackle in next proect cycle.

Second question:
Does Apache installation is supported on the Virtual machine.
Installation of Apache as DMZ is not Recommended by SAP.
SAP Recommends SAP Web Dispacher.
But SAP supports to a certain extend,if the client is using Apache.

How to Add a Custom FPM App to MSS without Modifying the SAP Content

Hi,
I'm trying to add a custom application to MSS, under the General Information page. I've created my own FPM application (to display qualifications) and have added it to the standard FPM application. I've mostly followed this blog - however this involves modifying SAP delivered content:

I would like to be able to find a way to do this without changing the SAP delivered content. Multiple trials with Delta links have proven unsuccessful.
Has anyone been able to do this or does SAP recommend modifying the SAP delivered content?
Any help would be appreciated. This issue has been out for a long time.

Does that mean that SAP recommends that we make our changes to the FPM application that they deliver in the PCD?
I don't want to have to recreate the same WD applications as what SAP delivers, it would make no sense.
What will happen in case of an upgrade or a patch from SAP? Will my changes be overwritten?
We are starting to make those modifications and it doesn't seem like SAP made it simple for us to do so.
