I am dealing with Customer fact sheet reporting objects & Activities objects in my assignment. Would like to know if there are any data sources (standard) which have priorities,reasons (code group) and similar things in CRM.

What is the difference of customer master data between CRM and ECC

Dear all,
We are helping customer to evaluate using CRM or ECC to manage there customer master data, focusing on the benefit of using CRM system.
Can any one help to compare the difference between these two system?
some tips in my mind are:
1. CRM has a friendly user interface for user to adjust the layout, hide/display favourite information according to actuall req.
2. In CRM, user can change the field/assignment block description easilly
3. in CRM7.0, user can add new customzing field easilly via AET
4. CRM has a good any analysis platform to provide pie chart analytic
5. CRM store more customer infor. than ECC, such as Marketing attribute, account classfication...anything else?
any other benefit to use CRM for customer master data? Pls help!!!

I would agree with most of the topics you mentioned. Just one remark to topic number 5. Business partner doesn't have more data than erp. It has some more marketing oriented data, but on other hand doesn't have all finincial and credit data that are relevant for erp financial transactions.
In our company we have the following scenario: all business partners are created in crm (because there the sales activities are started and because we don' clasify at the begining all partners as customers but as prospects. and of course it has nicer user interface). but when we are closing the deals (ordreds are transfered to erp), we fill some additional (financial) data of that partner on erp side and clasify partners as customers.

And how can i find the sap given sequential/flat file
for customer master.

most of the fields will be present in the BAPI function. some fields may not be avialable in that BAPI. first list out the fields what you want, then you check the fields in BAPI, and also you can go for LSMW Recording method or LSMW batch input method.
check this batch input program RFBIDE00 .
For testing the BAPI you have to input the data manually in SE37. First create a sample customer in XD01, use the same data for testing the BAPI.

In Master (XD01/ 02), Its not possible to maintain two addresses for a single party.

Steps are as followed:
1. Create, A Sold-to-Party (say, X with Account Group: 0001 - Sold-to-Party) in Transaction: XD01
2. Create, Two Bill-to-Parties (say, A and B with Account Group: 0004 - Bill-to-Party) in Transaction: XD01
Important: Maintain Customer Number Range (either Internal or External in Transaction: XDN1)
3. Go to Transaction: XD02 and Key-in Customer No. for Sold-To-Party, and go to Tab: Sales Area Data --> Sub-Tab: Partner Functions
Here, attach Bill-to-Parties, A and B, as Partner Function (say, BP - Bill-to-Party)
Important: You must define Partner Detrmination Procedure for Sold-To-Party, in:
SPRO>IMG>Sales and Distributions>Basic Functions>Partner Determination>Set-up Partner Determination>Set Up Partner Determination for Customer Master

Customer Master text replication

does anyone know if it is possible to replicate R/3 customer master texts across to CRM via the standard customer master replication to CRM?

Hi Jens,
Yes, it's possible.
At R/3 side, using t-code SM30, configure table vision V_CRMTXTID to map the customer texts ID's of R3, with the CRM ones.
Something like this (entry example):
KNA1 0002 'some description' -> BUT000 0002

Plant on Customer Master

Hi All,
I need to replicate the plant number from the ECC Customer Master onto the CRM Customer Master.
I have referred to note 493947. I executed the CUSTOMER_MAIN adapter object after this note. The SMW01 shows no error, but the relationship as "Vendor" has not got created.
Please advice.

Object DNL_PLANT generally brings in the plant data to CRM and maps it as BP.

Error in pulling customer master data from R/3 to CRM

Hi,
I am trying to pull customer data from R/3 to CRM with different SHIP-TO partner. In this case, the VAT REG. NO. is different from its country ISO code, so when i try to execute in tcode R3AR2 and R3AR4, I was encountered error message in tcode 'SMW01' saying "ISO CODE <code> IS NOT CORRECT IN THE VAT REGISTRATION NUMBER".
Is there anyone knows any recent updates from SAP that might solve this problem?

Error while replicating customer master data from R/3 to CRM

Hi gurus,
I am working on replication of customer master data from R/3 to CRM. It was working fine till date. But Now I am not able to replicate because in Inbound queue (in CRM 5.0) I get the status SYSFAIL for queue name R3AI_DNL_CUST_ACGRPB. When I checked SYSFAIL it shows "Incorrect parameter with CALL FUNCTION"
Kindly help regarding it.

Customer Master replication error from R/3 to CRM

Experts,
I am trying to replicate Customer Master from R/3 to CRM.
All the settings have been done. Nothing shows up in Queues. However, Bdoc hangs in "Received" state.
When I try to reprocess the Bdoc, I get a prog dump of type DBIF_RSQL_INTERNAL_ERROR in below function module: CRM_BUPA_FRG0020_SAVE_TABS
at INSERT crmm_but_set0020 FROM TABLE it_set0020_insert[]
This data corresponds to Shipping data in Customer Master.
Can you please help? I saw a similar thread in the forum where there was a suggestion about R/3 plug in update. How can I do that?

R/3 to CRM Customer Master Replication

Hi All,
Iam working on CRM 4.0 with R/3 as backend system.
I have some custom fields in KNA1 table in R/3. Those fields are not there at transaction level. I have appended them to a table directly.
If there is any change to the standard fields to Customer Master that will be automatically replicated to CRM through standard BDOC.
The custom field changes are not getting replicated. what I have to do in order to replicate them to CRM?

How to download Delivering Plant of R/3 Customer Master in CRM BP

Hi,
We have successfully downloaded the Plants from ECC to CRM using the object DNL_PLANT which has successfully created BP's for PLants in CRM with BP Role=Plant and have updated the mapping in table CRMM_LOCMAP.
Now I want that the Delivering Plant mantained in ECC Customer Master Data (XD02 -> Sales Area Data -> Shipping Tab -> Delivering Plant Field) to be updated in the CRM Business Partners as BP Relationship.
The BP(Customer BP) should be updated as a BP Relationship "ZPLANT - Has Plant" with BP(BP of the Plant in CRM). This is not happening.
Can you please tell me the Steps to be performed in both CRM and ECC side to bring the ECC Delivering PLant as Relationship in CRM ?
Is the Delivering Plant change in ECC Customer Master Data does not gets captured in the BUPA_MAIN BDoc ?
When we change the Delivering Plant in ECC Customer Master Data, a BUPA_MAIN Bdoc gets triggered but when we look into the Bdoc we can not find the changed information of the Delivering Plant. I am not usre if this behaviour is right or not.
There is an OSS Note - 493947 which is quite old and talks about creating a Customer each for all the Plants in ECC and creating a Partner Function for Plant in the Customer Master Data. I am not sure if this process is still to be followed Or SAP has given some stadard settings to bring ECC Delivering Plant mantained in Customer Master to CRM.

To my knowledge oss note 493947 is still relevant

Customer Master System of Record: CRM or ECC

We are implementing a net new CRM and ECC Order-to-Cash project.
We are trying to decide what should be the system of record for the customer master, CRM or ECC.
Some of the requirements:
- Pricing will be maintained in ECC
- We want to have customer hierarchies created and maintained in ECC and use for pricing and reporting (this suggests we use ECC)
- We want to allow sales reps to create new customer records, contacts, and prospects in the CRM system (this suggests we use CRM)
Is it OK to have ECC as the system of record but create new customer records in CRM?
Any suggestions or additional considerations?

Hi,
You can use either of the system as master system. Personally i would prefer to keep CRM as source system as we always need BP prior to creation of order for scenerios like Lead, Activities etc.
This way you can also control when to replicate the BP, as you would not want to replicate all the BP which are on the role of just prospects.
