Reg:- Customization of ESS Benefits Enrollment Overview page

Hi All,
I have a requirement to customize the <b>Overview</b> page of <b>Add/Change Dependants and Benefeciaries.</b> I need to change the text of the buttons, "<b>New Father</b>", "<b>New Mother</b>", "<b>New Child</b>" and "<b>New Emergency Contact</b>". I have imported the ESS Business Package into NWDS.
The problem is, I do not know the exact DC used to make changes to these changes. Can someone help me on the same? Please provide me the DC which is being referenced in this scenario.
Thanks in Advance,
Pavithra

  • ESS Benefits Participation overview print form HRESS_BEN_CONF

    Hi
We are trying to use the print form HRESS_BEN_CONF for benefits participation overview. However, when clicking on the print icon, a pop-up comes out with no pdf form. HRESS_BEN_CONF exists in SFP but not showing up on ESS. Configurations all look ok.
Is there any checks thats to be done?
    Thanks

in Standard it will point to SAPScript form HR_BEN_CONF.
You can change this to point to Adobe Form.
Maintain the form name HRESS_BEN_CONF and check the ADOBE radiobutton in table  V_74HL_1

  • ESS, Benefits Participation Overview

    Hello All,
We upgraded from ITS technology to Net Weaver EP5.0 and are now having problems with the participation detail failing to show in the participation overview for some insurance plans (IT0168).
The detail for all standard plans shows in the portal.  However, for those plans where the coverage amount is calculated in standard user exit PBEN0011, no detail is showing.   Only the plan name and coverage type are visible.  The coverage amount and employer credit is not visible.
Has anyone else had this problem?  If so, could you please advise us how to solve.
    Best regards,
    Janice

Wauw....that is an old version of the SAP Portal.....
    1. Check your User-exit.....is there something wrong with it.
    2. Check for sap-notes.

  • ESS - benefits

We are setting up the ESS --> benefits --> Participation overview. Would like to know if the data/screen fields displayed in the participation overview (after picking up a plan in the radio button) can be controlled. In othe words, I am looking at the IMG config for ESS --> benefits but don't see any node where the participation overview related information can be controlled/configured.
Basically would like to know where all this is happening and if needed how can the screen data/fields be managed.
    Thanks,
    Mark

I doubt if there is such an option in IMG..Have you checked <a href="https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/profile/2007/07/17/EnhanceStandardESSPersonalInformationUIwithout+modification">this</a>

  • Want MSS to look like ESS but no MSS Overview Page??

    Hi All,
We've recently upgraded to ECC6.  We've tackled the ESS side of things but no the business want MSS to look and feel the same.  My problem is that there is no overview page in MSS like there is in ESS.
I have tried copying the ESS overview page to MSS and pointing the menu area to my newly created MSS menu but it still displays the ESS menu.
Can anyone point me in the right direction.  Where is the MSS overview page or how can I create one?
    Regards,
    Liz.
    DISREGARD QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ESS Benefits open enrollment - Issue

    Hi,
When we click on the benefits open enrollment link, we do not want some of the plans to be displayed to the ess user. Is there any way to control it ( SPRO or BAdI ).
    Env - EP 7.0, ECC6.0
    Thanks,
    Ravi

I posed the same question to an ESS consultant who responded with the following:
"The plans presented in benefits enrollment (PZ14) and Participation Overview (PZ07) are list output from ABAP.  You can go into the program and select or exclude some of them based on certain criteria.  I've seen customers extend the Plan infotype to add a flag field to make it configurable to show, not show a given plan."
Since specific instructions weren't given, I wouldn't consider the issue answered.
However, I can provide the following work around:
Due to the fact that different populations have different open enrollment period timeframes, and all populations have been configured under one benefit area...we decided to create an "Open Enrollment Adjustment Reason" for each group instead.  Thus, the Adjustment Reason permissions will only display the plans we want the employee to see via ESS.  Prior to the open enrollment period for the population, we will run the Mass Adjustment Reason report to create IT378 for all relevant employees.  The OE offer will appear as another Adjustment Reason under the Enrollment service in ESS.

  • ESS Benefits Generic Enrollment - Different behavior backend v/s portal

We are using the ESS Benefits generic enrollment service for enrollment kicking off the adjustment reasons on IT 0378.
Here is the configuration set up, trying to simplify to explain the matter. We are on ECC 6.0 with EHP2.
    1.  Configured one plan type in savings category.
    2.  Within this plan type,  configured 2 plans.
    3.  Configured all other related configuration to set up the 2 plans.
    4. Configured the adjustment reason and the appropriate plan type created in step 2.
    5.  Created the required adjustment reason on 378.
In HRBEN0001 transaction via backendwe can  see the 2 plans configured within the plan type.
But when Trying to enroll from ESS - only one plan can be seen for that plan type, the other plan is not shown at all.
OK - eventually, debugged and found this piece of code in FM HR_BEN_ESS_FILL_SELECTION_DISP.  The 2 different plans are there until this piece of code takes one of them Off...
      CODE -
3.) Reduce entries to one entry per type and period
      delete adjacent duplicates from selection_display_gt
        comparing pernr
                  barea
                  bpcat
                  pltyp
                  begda
                  sprps.
    CODE -
This FM is called only for ESS application and not for backed program.
What we do not understand is why is it behaving differntly on backend v/s portal.
Any information or experience with this form any one of you will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Siddharth,
Thanks for your reply. Yes ESS has its own FMs.  The UI, user exits, BADIs etc are different for backend v/s front end.
What we are not clear with, is the different behavior in core functionality --  i.e. When the adjustment reason is processed from the backend using HRBEN0001 - The 2 plans within the Plan Type are available for elections. BUT the same adjustment reason for the same penr when processed from  ESS - there is just one plan available for elections.
It's clear from the code, that it is deleting one plan and this code is within the FM which is called only from ESS.  But we are still not sure why it should behave differently i.e. 2 plans via backend v/s one plan  via ESS.
Wanted to see if anyone can share any information if they have a similar benefits set up .. 2 plans within one plan type FOR savings plan category and then having a adjustment reason set up.
    Regards.

  • Change Overview page of ESS Framework

    Hi,
I would like to change the Overview page of the ESS framework and add ICONS and links poiniting to my custom WD for Java applications. Can anyone help me out. I am aware of how to add resources/Services under a sub Area. But I want to also make an entry point of my applications from the overview page.
    Regards,
    Murali.

    hi muralidharan,
folow these steps to add links to ur application in the overview page of ESS.
    1. first of all, create the iviews and the pages of your webdynpro applications.
    2. create resource in the transaction spro. (spro->img->personal management->employee self service->general settings->homepage framework->resource)
    3. add the pcd location of ur page in this resource.
    4. create a service  and then add this resource in this service. select the appropriate type of service.
    5. add this service in the subarea. this will act as the entry point for your application. do not forget to maintion the description , coz  ESS will take that string as the link!
    6. add this subarea into the area .
    and here you go !
you have modified the overview page of your ESS .

  • Customising the icons on overview page of ESS

    Hi ,
I have a requirement for ESS in portal that i have to change the icons available in Overview page of ESS.
Say for example for near Wrking time we have a icon clock icon where i found this under the path spro->personal management->Define Resource->  and for the resource EMPLOYEE_WORKTIME_PIC  i found the value for Object name:  calendar_clock.gif.
Now i would like to know where this gif file is stored in portal so that i will replace my custom icon into that place.
Please let me know the path where this file is stored in the portal.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Krishna,
The icons are not stored in portal content. Its stored in the J2EE server path of the software components like:-..pcui_gp~xssutils/Components/com.sap.xss.ser.xssmenu.vc.areagroup.VcXssMenuAreaGroup/
You need to copy and past your icon there.
    Hope this helps,

  • Reports overview page for BI Portal looks like ESS overview page

    Hi Experts,
i am implimenting FPN environment with BI portal,I have lot of BI reports roles in my system, now i have a requirement to develop an overview page having all BI reports,it looks like a ESS overveiw page. How can I create this page, can any body please suggest me?
    Thanks ,
    Kiran

    Hi Kiran,
As you wrote "i selected different pic from standard list, but it is displaying one standard pic only."
I hope you want to change the picture of Headings only ie your workset in above mentioned case right ??
To change the picture go the role->then select added workset -> then open properties of worset ->now look for the
Pictogram  properties of workset here from drop down select your desired pic and save the changes.
Now open portal the look for the changes ie new logo for the heading.
If  new picture is not coming the try to clear the portal caches and check again .... other way to get the changes remove the
assigned role from user and change the role id and assign to user again now you will get new changes
    without clearing  the cache.
    how to add custom pic?
To add custom pic you need to add the new pictures in the par file called  com.sap.portal.navigation.mimeservice.par
So download the this par file from ROOT/WEB-INF/deployment/temp this location from Portal support , even you can copy from server too.
Now import the par file in NWDS and copy your new pic in images directory ..now build the par file again and
upload it on portal. But here new images will only appear in drop down list when you portal is restarted.
I hope you know how to import par in NWDS  don't forget to add required jar file in both the lib folders.
There can be other way also to change the picture where portal restart is not needed . So if you don't want to change in this way then search for other method and let me know also.

  • How to change the look of the ESS Overview page

    Hi,
We are implementing ESS/MSS and would like to change the look (font size and color, background color, ...) of only the Overview page (Area Group Page). From what I understand when a theme (css) is used it is applied to an entire Portal Desktop, not to a single page. And since the Overview page is a Web Dynpro application (part of the Floor Plan Manager), it doesn't seem possible to change the look besides using themes.
Of course we would like to keep the possibility to configure this page using IMG so rebuilding it from scratch is not really an option.
Any idea how this could be done?
    Thanks,
    Martin

    Thanks Srikanth,
As far as I know it is not possible to change the font size or color of the overview page using IMG.
But I found a way of applying a theme to a single Web Dynpro application running inside the portal, like the Overview page. You need to specify the theme in the iView property editor using the Application parameter sap-cssurl. The feature is there and more or less documented, the only problem I am still not able to make it work, the portal theme is always used. It is also possible to change the theme of <i>all</i> the Web Dynpro applications running on the server (by changing WD a property in the J2EE Visual Admin, see this <a href="https://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=367022">post</a> for example) but this is not what I want to do.
    Regards,
    Martin
