Reg: default  file type when using 'WS_UPLOAD'

Hi,
Iam using FM 'WS_UPLOAD'.
my doubt is : If u don't specify FILE TYPE ....what is default file type it is going 2 take.
Regards
Vaja

Hi Sudha,
thanks for ur answer.
Plz look into this.
I have program with  internal table declared as below with 2 fields.
when i specify the input file using   FILENAME =  P_FILE.....
the input file has only one field values(i.e. only matnr values).
So, I am getting error : "unable to load input file".
so my query is Can i specify input file with only matnr values and download into internal table (ITAB_MATNR--which has 2 fields)

  • CS4 Set default file type when placing file

The File->Place dialog box has a default file type of 'Importable files.'  Is it possible to set the default to All files (or anything else)?  Making the change manually does not seem to stick.  I have the same general question regarding File->Open.  A search of the forums returned one hit (unanswered) in the Dreamweaver forum.
    Thank you.
    Dick Conrad

    Peter:
Good question.  One of our editors made this request, and I believe that he works with files that lack extensions.  But controlling the default would also let us go in the other direction: quickly see only .rtf or .txt files, for example.
Any trick would be impractical if it lived in InDesign Defaults.  All ID users get the same copy, and no two editors would want the same filter.
    Thanks for your response.

  • Default file type when save

When I use Pages to edit a word document ".doc", for every time I save it,  Pages prompt to save as a new pages file, which is unnecessary. Can directly save to original file? TQ.

    You get the designed behavior.
Pages is designed to be a .doc viewer, not a .doc editor.
Even if you use a free Office clone, you will get the same kind of behavior because for these clones, the default format isn't .doc but  Text OGF whose extension name is .odt
Several times, I posted here a script which we may run to change a Pages resource so that it will behave as a .doc editor.

  • How can I change the default "file type" in the open file dialog when using Firefox on certain web pages?

I work for a bankruptcy attorney. We use the Court's file upload to file our documents. When I am on the Court's site and I have to pick a file to upload, the "open file" dialog box pops up. In Firefox, the default "file type" is always "image" files. I need it to be "all files". How can I change this setting?

    Two observations.
First — "Tools-> ...." is specific to Acrobat X and XI. It did not exist prior to Acrobat X.
Second — Acrobat 9 Pro / Standard (nor earlier release) does not support viewing a PDF page containing a scanned image and performing a right-click  ... Save Image As.
The context menu provided by Acrobat 9 Pro with a right-click on a scanned image is:
The context menu, from a right-click with the TouchUp Object tool selected, for Acrobat 9 Pro is:

  • Suppress the Default File Types dialogue, Office 2013 C2R

    Hi.
We are doing a rather large Office 365 Proplus deployment using click-to-run via SCCM. We have the relevant group policys configured for the most part but we can't figure out how to get rid of the Default File Types dialogue box that pops up during the first
run of any of the Office applications. It asks the user if he/she wants to use Office XML or OpenOffice document formats.
When using the MSI-version and a custom install the administrator can answer this before creating the deployment package, but this is obviously not possible using C2R.
We have tried to set HKEY_USERS\<user_SID>\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\General
/v ShownFileFmtPrompt to 1, but it doesn't work. We have also set the default file type for each application but on first run, the dialogue box still shows.
How can we achieve a simple deployment from a user perspective? The picture below is the setting we want to configure.
    Best regards
    Joakim

Dito. This should have been solved when Office 2013 launched and there's still no official solution?

  • Will EC support setting default file type and Open With from file menu?

The default file types I can live without, but at least allow for Open With on right click from Windows Explorer.
I currently have EC set in the Open With programs list, but EC does not comply for any files I opt to open it with (.css, .php, .html etc).
EC open but not the file I choose.
Also, even though the above use case is not ideal when if I do attempt an Open With when EC is already open, a new application session starts instead of attempting to open in the currently active app frame. It would be ideal to allow for single app frame, multiple files when Open With is employed.
    Darrell

    Hey Darrell,
Thanks for the feedback. How Edge Code treats files is definitely something we know isn't ideal and it's something we're looking at fixing soon. There's currently a story on the Brackets backlog that adresses the Open With issue - https://trello.com/c/GhF1Bgf9
And it based on howit ranks in that priority it looks like we could potentially take that into Edge Code over the next couple of months.
This is definitely a feature that we think is important before we consider ourselves 1.0 so it's high priority.

  • Making php the default file type

I've got a client set up to use Contribute to edit a PHP
site. When he creates a new page, the default file extension is
.htm and it needs to be .php. I looked for some way to change the
default file type in the Preferences but I can't find it. Is there
    a way to do this?

Try going into Administer Website settings and select New
Pages> then select default file extension and add .php.

  • Default File Types in inputFile Component

This is a two part question in regards to some usability issues with the inputFile component. First, I'm using the inputFile component to upload files; however I need to be able to default the allowed (or rather default) file types in the Browse window. Is there any way to do this?
If not, is there any way to manually create inputFile type logic? For example, could we use our own inputText field and commandButton to upload a file? I'm not sure this is possible with the inputText field being a String and the inputFile being an UploadedFile type.... I've seen the same question asked in a thread that asks about creating a style and translating the text for the Browse button, but no one had answered it at the time of this post.

.. playing around with this options it appears that browsers tend to ignore the accept attribute...
"The HTML 4.01 specification defines an accept attribute for use with input type="file" as follows:
which explaind by that the accept attribute only is a recommendation that browser vendors may or may not implement:
"This attribute specifies a comma-separated list of content types that a server processing this form will handle correctly. User agents may use this information to filter out non-conforming files when prompting a user to select files to be sent to the server.
Thus you could specify, for example, accept="image/gif,image/jpeg", if you are willing to get image files in GIF or JPEG format only. Browsers might use this information to set up the Browse menu so that only such files are selectable, at least initially"

  • Can I change the default 'File Type' for PL/SQL Source File to '*.prc' ?

Want to change the 'default' extension for PL/SQL source to '*.prc'
When navigating 'File' / 'Save As', and selecting the 'File Type' list box,
The default 'File Type' for PL/SQL Source File is '*.pls'.
Can I change the default 'File Type' for PL/SQL Source File to '*.prc' ?
I have followed , 'Tools', 'Preferences' , 'File Types' and added '.prc' as 'Sql Script' file type, because (PL/SQL Source) is not present in the list.

You can certainly overwrite the 'Save As' extension as you are saving the file. I have added an ER for more control over this functionality.

  • Default file type for photosmart 7525

I am trying to find the default file type that is saved to a USB drive when scanning on the HP Photosmart 7525.  This is not my printer, I am just trying to help my sister who lives in another city and is not computer literate.  She scanned some pictures (or so she said, after I sent her the instructions from the manual after I downloaded it) to a memory card.  She is not sure what she is looking at from what she is telling me, it appears as the pictures were all saved to one PDF document. Does any one know if PDF is the default file type that scans are saved to on a memory card?  I cannot find the default file type mentioned in the manual.
    Thanks
    David

    Hi,
You can check from its software on your computer. For documents it's pdf and for photos it's jpg. But you have to select first.

  • Default file type?

    Hey there,
.Wav is my current default file type for session files, and while I'm sure I set it that way myself somewhere along the way, I've had difficulty retracing the menu steps to reset it to .mp3 for a session I use daily.  Even tried recreating the whole session to see if the option was available from scratch, but no dice. Advice?

Audition's internal file format is, to all intents and purposes, the same as a wav file. Although strictly speaking, the audio isn't a wav file until it's stored that way. The reason for using wav as a format is that it is uncompressed, and therefore of the highest quality you can get - limited only by the quality of your audio device. In fact Audition uses an extended form internally (a 32-bit floating point format), because it can be scaled without loss, which means that quality can even be preserved through massive amplitude changes whilst you're working on the file.
MP3, on the other hand, is a compressed format, and as such is only intended for distribution purposes, not for production or original recording (despite what quite a few portable recorder manufacturers seem to think...)
So if you open an MP3 file in Audition, the first thing that happens is that it's decoded back to a wav file, and that is what Audition plays. And if you wish to save this again as an MP3 file, then it will be re-encoded. And that, unfortunately is significant; every time you decode and re-encode an MP3 file, you lose even more quality, because the compression isn't lossless. This is the reason, in fact, why MP3 isn't a production format. With wav files, you lose nothing by working on them, storing them, and then working on them again, but that's never been true of MP3, and never will be. This applies to all compressed formats, incidentally - MP3 isn't singled out!

  • I want to change the default file type in the Open File dialog - e.g. from Word to All Files

I want to change the default file type in the Open File dialog - most recently specifically in Adobe Acrobat, from Adobe Files to All Files, so I don't have to do it again and again manually.  Is this possible?  Is it an OS setting or an app-specific setting?

The Apps set the default to the file type it can open, sort of. However, there normally isn't a type specified. All document types that the app can handle will be offered.
Adobe, and Microsoft, tend to roll their own dialogs, so they may not be standard. I don't have Acrobat, so I can't verify that. If Adobe is puting a file type selector in their open file dialogs, it would be up to them to store the preferences.
EDIT: I checked Reader, and i see what you mean. Not terribly useful.
