Reg: Dot Matrix Printer Settings problem

hello all,
The problem is with the Character format of Dot matrix printer, the printer is unable to print any graphical line. The line can be seen in print preview but in the actual printout the line is not printed. When the same O/P is printed through normal mode of dot matrix printer it is getting printed in the print out.
The client want all the Invoices to get printed in this format as it requires least usage of ink.

hello all,
The printer i am using is EPSON LQ 1050 . Does this printer support the graphical line in the character format ? In the normal mode i am able to print the graphical lines,but client want to use only in character mode as usage of the ink would be less.I dont know how to check the compatibility of the printer,can any one help what is the procedure to check the settings..do help me in this regards.
for above suggestions do tell me where can i post to get solution from a basis consultant.

Help needed on Dot Matrix Printer Settings

Hi all,
We have a requirement to print some documents on a dot matrix printer.
I have created a device choosing SWIN as the device type & also assigned my Z page formats to this device type.
But printing with this device type takes a long time. So, to reduce the time, if I choose any one among EPESCP/EPESCP2/EPESCP9/EPLQ550 etc as my device types, the printing gets fast, but the quality of the output is very bad ( its getting printed with a single font though I change the font & its size). Moreover the lines are not getting printed at the desired place on the page.
We are using a printer(TVS) which is Epson 24 Pin compatible.
Kindly help us if someone has any idea on this kind of printer settings.

Try OKI341 instead of SWIN.
It seems a bit more forgiving.

About Dot matrix printer device problems

I have a problems in smartforms and i used the printer device is dot matrix(Used PLY paper)..Its unable to print the vertical & horizontal lines but the corresponding spooler contains correct alignments..in the same time i used HP laser device (Used A4 sheet)..but its able to print..
whats the main reason for this problem????
pls reply me asap.because its a urgent requirement for me..

Previously we used sapscript form..its able to print properly in same device(dot matrix)...As per some new requirement, we implemented smartforms with same alignment..and also we used same printer settings as per previous..but something we missed...

Printing problem in Dot matrix printer

We are planning to use Dot matrix printers for printing through SAP.We do front end printing using Windows OS. I am able to get prints properly if it is a script form. In case of list outputs, printer is printing the text outside the paper.Only half of the text is printing on the continuous stationary. Actually document is to be printed in Landscape format. So printer should print data vertically on the paper,but it's printing horizontally. I have created sparate output device for this printer.My printer is TVS Electronics HD745 24 Pin heavy duty printer. I have assigned OKI341 as device type for this device.Any more settings I need to do to get printing in landscape mode?

Printing line beginning aligment problem in dot-matrix printer

in smart-forms i have two windows with same upper-margin and there is 10 mm space between them.
i print both of them a text which two rows but in right window begining of text is sliding right , second row of second window begins one or two columns sliding right namely not printing properly texts by beginning in same column in the right window.
my printer is oki microline 320 line printer.
why can this be?

Problem with countinuous paper printing in dot matrix printer

I have problem with dot matrix printer (Devise Type EPESCP) while printing continuos printing. If i am printing 2 or more than that prints at a time, 2nd page is printing 5 lines up.
I have developed one smartform for this and i have used A4 size page format.
I have tried to change the Printer initialization code to 86 lines for DINA4. Still no change in continuous printing.

Above you have the following commands:
set line spacing 6 LPI
\e\0x32
set page length 86 lines
\e\0x43\0x46
46 HEX = 70
So the above settings mean 70 lines at 6 LPI = 11.66 inches.
So is the paper length 11.66 inches? If not, you should adjust the settings accordingly.

SAPSCRIPT problem in printing on Dot Matrix Printer

Hi!
I have a SAPSCRIPT Form with page format INCH12. The SAPSCRIPT output is displayed properly in print preview. But when it is sent for printing on the Dot matrix printer the first three lines of the second page are printed on the first page at the bottom. Paper size is also 12INCH. I tried adjusting all the windows and putting blank lines. I also gave /: NEW-PAGE command. But it did not solve the problem.
I am not able to identify where exactly the problem is? Is it in the SAPSCRIPT or in printer settings.
If anyone had faced similar problem and was able to solve it then please reply.

if it is possible try to print the same in another printer and confirm the problem
no doubt certain printers may create such problems while printing the output
so to confirm the problem try with other printer.

Problem with custom paper size on dot matrix printer

I'm using CR2008 with updated to SP2. I have a problem with custom paper size (W=21; H=14), the CR Viewer show report with custom paper size correctly but when I print it to a dot matrix printer (Epson LQ 300+) the content was rotated to landscape. If print to a laser printer the content was printed correctly. My report was printed correctly by CR10 or previous versions I got this issue when upgraded to CR2008. I aslo tested my computer and printer with orther application like MS Word the printing have no problem with custom paper size.

Looking at the Epson LQ 300+ driver, I see that the latest update is from 2002. In my experience, most matrix printer drivers are not unicode. Crystal Reports is designed to only work with unicode printer drivers. We're currently developping an .net application for a customer of ours in VS2005 (c#). I used crystal reports for VS2005 to create an invoice.
The invoices have to be printed on a dot-matrix printer with continuous paper (Brother M-4318). When an invoice is only one page long, there's no problem. Even when printing several sigle-page invoices after another, all goes fine. The problem occurs when an invoice is more then one page longe. The first page comes out correctly, but on the following pages everything moves ca. 3 mm upwards (3 mm on the second page, 6 mm on the third page, and so on...). On the report 'Design > Printer Setup', I selected the right printer, the right paper size, ... On the report there's a page header (consisting of two sections), and there's a page footer that is only printed on the last page, but there are no report header and no report footer.
I can not figure out what seems to be the problem. Has anyone else had this or a similar problem before? If so, please let me know. Any suggestions are welcome.

Continuous paper is a little bit longer than normal A4 paper. I found only one way to set it: ReportDocument.PrintOptions.PaperSize =CrystalDecisions.Shared.PaperSize.PaperFanfoldStdGermanI had no success, setting continuous papersize by printer setup. ... waiting for CustomPaperSize-Property (like CustomPaperSource)... I am creating an invoice layout for output in dot matrix printer . I am getting the layout prints properly but if 2 printouts are taken at a time by making the no. of messages in the invoice(vf02) as 2 , In the second page the details start printing from the middle of the page.
Why is this.

It may be due to the form feed option in the printer controls of your page format. Please check your SPAD settings for this page format.
TCode->SPAD->Full Administration->select your output type->click formats->Execute.
Here you can see your page formats print controls. In this check the end of page action. It should contain
formfeed

Problems to print from Flex to a dot matrix printer

I'm having problems when a try to print from Flex in a dot
matrix printer. With ink jet printer there's no problem-
the problem is that it shrinks the printing, and adds a
column of dots at the end. I mean it splits the page in 2, first
the shrinked data, and on the other side, a column of dots, i don't
know if this is a problem between Flex and dot matrix
printers.

Problem while printing smartform in dot matrix printer

Hi Experts,
When i am printing smartform using dot matrix printer only the last page prints but all the pages displays in print privew.
For example suppose there are three pages to be print 1/3, 2/3 , 3/3 , i get all the three pages in print privew as well as when i take its printout in laser printer i get all three pages as print, but when i am using dot matrix printer i get only the last page ie 3/3 as print.

If things are coming properly then its no more ABAP issue.
Need to check out with the BASIS team along with the IT / hardware department.
Just try to take print out on a other dotmatrix printer, if its somewhere close to you as usually they are heavy and large in size can't be moved.

Problem in Smartform Table/window Line Using Dot Matrix Printer

Dear Experts,
I faced issue in printing smartform using dot matrix printer. In the print result, the table line (horizontal and vertical) is not printed. I already search the forum but none can solve my issue. I already changed the table line width into 30 or 40 TW but still not work. Everything is OK in the print result, except the table line.
If i manually print/write '__' (underscore), it appear in the print result, but to write horizontal line and vertical line manually in the smartform will be huge effort.
I used device type EPESCP9 for the output device.
Can you tell me what i need to do?

The Printer settings is not supporting the horizontal and vertical line ..check with the basis team for the printer settings.

Smartforms Printing not coming properly in dot matrix printer

Hi Gurus,
We have implemented invoice printout using smartforms and required to use the dot matrix printer for printing.
We are now facing the problem on the printout from dot matrix is different from the preview we get in the system. But the printout from Laser Jet is coming out correctly for the same smartforms.
We are using EPSON DLQ3000 and we configure the output device using EPESCP2 as the Device Type. The problem is font size of the print out is all printed as courier size 12, but there are different font sizes in the smartforms.
But when we use local printing (using SAPLPD), there is no problem, all different font size is printed.
If we using to same output device to print some sapscript, everything is working well. Font size will print accordingly to the preview of the sapscript.
Do you have any idea of the problem that we have. Thanks for your help.

Dear Lee,
Ideally the printout should come as it is shown in the preview.I remember once it had happened with me too.But in my case there is no problem with the settings at SAP level.When we checked we found the problem is with the printer cartridge.
We co-ordinated with the system administrator and n/w guys.They in turn change the cartridge and issue was fixed.
PS:In my case all SAP printout were coming properly except the smartforms.
