Reg: Endeca Security
Hi All,
How to enable the security based on org_id in Endeca . Consider the example Vision User can see only vision operations data like that...
Please , Explain with some sample and steps to implement it... Thanks for advance.
We havent done something like this but what I have heard is that you would have to build some graph in integrator that would have security in place, then when you create new endeca server connection to data domain you would pass security related parameters, so basically at this connection level your security is applied to filter data as needed.

hi,
i have merged two repositories where one is using LDAP server for authentication,initialization block for autorization and portalpath and the second one using rpd security only.now after i merged i will be implementing LDAP authentication and authorization for the new merged rpd.
now, my doubt is that the second rpd using the rpd security has declared some filters for some groups in the permissions in security.so,if i implement ldap server authentication and authorization where the group of an user,portalpath are authorized,the filter in permissions on the group would work normally or should i use authorization init block to get the filters?
thanksi have used below link for setting authorization

EID3.0 Endeca Server SSL disable issue
Hi,
I have installed EID3.0 on our server and the SSL was enabled. I built page based on this Endeca Server and it worked well.
For testing the Java Client call, I need to disable the SSL.
Today I updated the config file "EndecaServer.properties" under path "MW_HOME/user_projects/domains/endeca_domain/config" as below:
endeca-require-https=false
endeca-webserver-port=7001
endeca-secure-mode=false
And remove the SSL setting in "MW_HOME/user_projects/domains/endeca_domain/config/config.xml"
But when I restart the weblogic and run "./endeca-cmd list-dd", it throws error as below:
endeca-cmd encountered a problem.
caused by:
Error contacting the Endeca Server localhost:7001: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: Bad response: 503 Service Unavailable from url http://localhost:7001/endeca-server/ws/manage
caused by:

caused by:

Anyone know how to disable SSL for EID3.0? Must I reinstall it again?Try also clearing the following two EndecaServer.properties:
endeca-ds-cert-file=
endeca-ds-ca-file=
Also don't forget to review your EndecaCmd.properties settings. -

User signature with security product configuration - Reg.
Dear Experts,
We got a requirement in Digital signature. Requirement is whenever result recording, UD for inspection lot, system should access external security product for user signature.
I would like to know the configurations steps required for the above said from QM point of view.
Expecting your valuable reply. Thanks in advance.
Regards,
KumarYou should read the configuration notes in SPRO. It explains a lot about setting this up.
In SPRO:
Cross-Application Components>General Application Functions>Digital Signatures
Define Basis Settings
Specify Signature Method for Approval Using Simple Signature
Signature Strategy
Define Authorization Groups
Define Individual Signatures
Define Signature Strategies
Read the notes on each item. Setting up an exteranl verification system is talk about in the section "Specify Signature Method for Approval Using Simple Signature".
Good luck!

Ways to secure BOMs and Master Recipes - Reg
Hi ,
Our requirement is to secure certain Bills Of Materials and Master Recipes .
Request inputs from the experts to achieve this . We need to maintain certain BOMs and Recipes such that they are secured and handled by few set of people . I understand we can try doing this with some authorization object at BOM for changes etc.. but are there better ways to secure ?
Regards,
Madhu KiranHi ,
Our requirement is not to restrict changes to BOM , Recipe and track with ECM .
Its a kind of restricting few for the access of BOM , Recipe for which there shall be some kind if a solution using authorization groups creation and mapping . Currently exploring at our end on the same and would be grateful if some one could provide better advice /methods .

Title: Adobe Reader Security
Body: Trusted certificates from your previous version of Adobe Reader were found.
Would you like to import them?
Any certificates that are not imported in this step will not be available in this version of Adobe Reader.
Buttons: [Import] [Use Default]
I've read through at least a dozen posts on many sites about this and no one has a real resolution. Let me tell you what I've tried. Each attempt was a clean upgrade from X to XI.
1 - First I tried the Customization Wizard, which did everything I want except get rid of this popup.
2 - Then again I went back in the Wizard and set the Directory Servers (C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\11.0\Security\directories.acrodata) and Trusted Identities (C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\11.0\Security\addressbook.acrodata) to copies of my own files on my own computer that did not get the post-install popup.
3 - I tried the same as #2, but with copies of my files from the C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\10.0\Security\ folder (rather than version 11.
4 - I tried in the Wizard to add keys to HKCU\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\11.0\Security\cDigSig\cAdobeDownload for bAskBeforInstalling and bLoadSettingsFromURL both to 0.
5 - I tried on the cliet PC to change HKEY_USERS\clientusername\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\10.0\Security\cPPKHandler\bCustomPrefsCreated to 0 prior to installation.
All of these still resulted in prompts to import the old certificates. I'm out of ideas.I am dealing with the same problem. I recently inherited ownership of Acrobat at my firm so I'm not as familiar with it, but it appears that what we need to do is automatically copy c:\users\[userID]\appdata\roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\10.0\security\*.acrodata to c:\users\[userID]\appdata\roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\11.0\security.
I did not see a way to do this using the customization wizard so that it happens automatically for all users on each workstation when Acrobat 11 is installed, nor did I see a checkbox of some sort to the effect of "Automatically import trusted certificates from 10.0" which would be incredibly helpful.
It appears that the wizard will allow me to copy files from a specific known user profile on a machine but that's obviously not much use for a wide rollout.
Am I missing something obvious? What is the simplest way to accomplish this? Is there a Registry setting that will handle this?
Thank in advance. -

I'm not across what the EBS recommended setting for this is, or if there is one. But try running:
ulimit -n
... and if the number is low, edit /etc/security/limits.conf , add some entries for increased "soft nofile" and "hard nofile" and run sysctl -p. See Linux & Java tips: Too many open files . -
Reg: How to Stop Polling of JDBC Adapter without Scheduling the adapter
Dear Gurus,
Here I am having one requirement. My clients wants to send data from JDBC adapter (ORcale System table) to R3 system via RFC.
His Requirement::
1. He is not telling the time of data flow from Oracle server so that based on that we can schedule the adapter in the Communication Channel monitoring (Availablitiy Time Planning) or Else we can Schedule by deciding the setting of the polling interval time.
2. He is telling that When ever he waants to send the data he will place one dummy file in the File Adapter FTP location so that it will became an Indication for u to poll the jdbc adapter and to transfer the data to R3.
3. Untill he keeps the file or gives indication he doesn;t want to communicate with Oracle server due to some security and it s a most important data base he doesn't want to disturb that Oracle Server as so many business are running on that.....
We Proposed::
1. Atleast you need to tell the scheduling time or poll interval time so that we can schedule our adapter.
but he s not accepting for this
2. Atleast U need to give access for Data base to enter one more extra field like STATUS CODE so that we will add one number and we keep on Update in the Update table and based on that Update table statement it will poll.
but he s not even accepting for this
3. Finally we prposed that to create another table in the Oracle SYstem as Dulplicate Table which is similar to Standard Orginal table when ever he wants to pick the data please keep that data in this Duplicate TABle so that JDBC adapter will pick the data from thsi TABLE instead of picking the data from that standard table so that it will not effect any standard table data in the table.
but he s not even accepting for this
We have done some R & D:::
1. WE approached even through BPM and via switch conditions is one scenario
FILE RECEIVE >SWITCH CONDITION> RECEIVE AND SEND or else EXIT
2. Using correlation in anotehr scenario means correlating File adapter and JDBC and based on one dynamica value it will goes to SEND STEP ( RECE IVE --> RECEIVE --> SEND STEPS )
Even though we know this...concept that...we jsut tried::
In BPM we can control the flow in XI 3.0 but we cannot Stop the Polling of JDBC adapter at backend because one the data comes from FILE adapter it will keep on HOLD untill it receives the JDBC from Oracle then based on the condition or Correlation it will goes futher SEND step means after that file adapter is picking file or not ...what ever it may be JDBC will polls at backend and brings that data to BPM"
Hence sugest me How to Stop Polling of JDBC Adapter without Scheduling the adapter or else using STATUS CODE Update statements in JDBC Tables
Regards:
Amar Srinivas EliHi! All,
Finally I decided to do the scenario in two steps:
1: FILE REQ --> JDBC REQ -->JDBC RES --> FILE RECV
2: FILE RECV --> RFC
But I am getting issue while doing first scenario
Desgn :
I have created 2 Synchronous interfaces :
1) FILE 2 JDBC REQ
In this a) out put message is FILE Req
b) Input msage:; FILE RES
2} JDBC2FILE RECV
a) Output mesage;; JDBC REQ
b) Input Msge :: JDBC Response
Mappings:
1) File REQ-->JDBC REQ
2) JDBC RES-->FILE RES
Interface mappings:
1: FILE 2 JDBC REQ--> JDBC 2 FLE RECV
CONFIGURATION ::
1: One Seder File CC
2: Two reciever CC's one is for JDBC RECEIVER and other s FILE RECEIVER
3; One Sender Agreement
4: 2 Recver agreements
5: One Interface Determination and
6: One RECCV Determination
My Question;;
1. First let confirm whether my development steps are right or not ?
2: Another thing s I am not sure reg Configuration Steps means
whetehr one interface determination and one Receiver Determinations are required or not as these are synchronous Interfaces
3: main Issue is::::
If my scenario s FILE2RFC2FILE then I will get RFC response automatically but here issue is this is JDBC
My reqquirement is By sending one Field from fILE to JDBC REQ it needs to send entire TAbLE records as a Response to file as XML
without having Sender JDBC how can I send the JDBC Res to FILE and If that is the case then again JDBC adapter is polling which is contradict to the client requuirement which i explained above.
pleas suggest me the Detailed steps mainly Colloboration agreements and logical routings and
also explain in detail if i can go for BPM
Also give cleear blogs but before giving make sure that it contains detailed screen shots because aIready gone thorugh

So, I'm trying to strip Reader for domain security
...and I thought I had it completely nailed. I was able to view documents, print, change preferences, everything except the things I don't want people in my domain doing anyway, like executing JavaScript out of a PostScript document. *ahem*
Then I changed... something. And now I get a brief error every time I try to open Edit -> Preferences:
"Failed to load an application resource (internal error)."
I've put back most of the plugins, restored .\Javascripts, reversed most of the Registry changes and cleared every folder called "Adobe" from my test user account, and I'm still getting this error when trying to open prefs. Everything else works fine, like creating a report. Although Reader reports that I'm running Vista when my test system is Win7 amd64 SP1 beta, but maybe I'm splitting hairs.
Oh, also, tWhiteList doesn't seem to work like you'd expect it to. In fact, it doesn't appear to work at all. Does Reader even pay attention to this value any more? Leaving it in because I'm still experimenting with it. Also, the Reader MSI still installs it. Presumably, it has a purpose of some kind.
For no obvious reason, the list of plugins generated from Generate System Report just reports AcroForm several times. About Plugins correctly shows
PPKLite.api
eBook.api
DigSig.api
AcroForm.api
PDDom.api
reflow.api
SaveAsRTF.api
Search.api
I'm pasting the Registry entries directly from the Inno Setup script I'm working on (no one scream, please):
