Hello,
Updates of these reporting tables are done in asynchronous mode.
Check transaction SM13 and try to find back the update of table S001 and analyze the error.
Several OSS-notes explain what can go wrong with updates of LIS and SIS tables like S001.

Hello,
please could enyone help me? I tried to update info structure S050 for shipment using transaction mcs/ and got error message
"092 SAP info structure S050 cannot be generated" I run transaction OLIE and created protocol but without avail. I haven´t found eny documentation for update - TIS yet.

Instead of TIS search for LIS or just 'info structure'. The principles are all the same within LIS (which TIS is a part of).
Is there a long text for the error message? The verbiage sounds rather strange, as if there is a problem with the structure itself. You might want to check in SE11 if there is a table named S050 and if it's active.

Capacity planning is not possible for this info structure

When I create Rough cut planning profile, I am getting error message ""Capacity planning is not possible for this info structure""
I am using info structure S994 copied copied from standard info structure.
Please suggest to oversome this error.

Make sure the capacity planning relevant field is maintained for the Infostructure config setttings in MC7F.

The format of a query using WITH is:
WITH d AS
    SELECT ... -- sub_query
SELECT ...   -- main query
You don't have a main query. The keyword FROM has to come immediately after the right ')' that ends the last WITH clause sub-query.
That explains the problem based on what you posted. I can't tell if the real problem is in the conditions that you didn't post.
I hope this answers your question.
If not, post a complete test script that people can run to re-create the problem and test their ideas. Include a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) for all the tables involved, and the results you want from that data.
In the case of a DML operation (such as UPDATE) the sample data should show what the tables are like before the DML, and the results will be the contents of the changed table(s) after the DML.
Explain, using specific examples, how you get those results from that data.
Always say what version of Oracle you're using (e.g. 11.2.0.2.0).

The sum of the offset and length (=52) exceeds the

Update Info Structure S012 - Steps

Hello gurus,
I need your help. I want to update the structure S012 because of some change in the customising were made, but, I want to be sure that the following steps are correct in order to update the data. This is that I want to do:
1.     I am going to the Customizing tree): Logistics - General + Logistics Information System (LIS) + Logistics Data Warehouse + Data Basis + Tools + Setup of Statistical Data + Application-specific Setup of Statistical Data + Perform Setup - Purchasing
2.     Then, I am selection = PURCHIS Statistical Setup (program RMCENEUA, transaction OLI3)
3.     Once I am in the report, this is the data selected:
a.     Info structure to be compile = S012
b.     Save under version = &(1
c.     Document date = 01.01.2011 to 31.05.2011
d.     Name of run = SAP1
e.     Termination date = 12.05.2011
f.     Termination time = 14:00:00
g.     Redeterm. of update group? = u201CXu201D
h.     Update documents? = u201CXu201D
i.     Block all documents? = u201CXu201D
4.     After that, I am checking that the data was created in the table S012, and, yes, it was updated correctly.
5.     Then, I want to copy my version u201C&(1u201D to the version u201C000u201D. I am going to the Customizing tree): Logistics - General + Logistics Information System (LIS) + Logistics Data Warehouse + Data Basis + Tools + Setup of Statistical Data + Application-specific Setup of Statistical Data + Perform Setup u2013 Purchasing + Setup: Copy/Delete Versions.
6.     There, I am selecting the Info structure = S012 and click in the u201CCopy versionu201D button.
7.     In the program, this is the data selected:
a.     Source version = &(1
b.     Target info structure = S012
c.     Target version = 000
But, I want to check if these steps are correct before copy the version. I am confusing with some information from SAP that they are mentioning delete the version 000.

Yes - you generally need to delete the data from the target version before copying the updated data.
An exception is if you are adding missing data (for example you didn't have updating turned on for a particular combination) and your update run has just captured the data for this.
However, if you are changing the data - yes - the target data needs to be deleted. You can copy it to a 3rd version 1st.
Test everything in a QA or sandbox first.

Update info structure S066/S067

Dear all,
we create a delivery without reference to an order. This delivery, although without reference, should update/reduce the open amount in the info structure. We know the order number at time of delivery creation in an own Z-field.
Is someone knowing an user-exit, BadI or customer exit or any other solution to solve this problem?
I will not explain here why we create this delivery without reference but it make sense in this business case.

Update info structure S070

Hi,
I have a requirement wherein I need to update the info structure S070 with floc value so that during analysis the data is displayed for Functional Location as well as Equipment.
Currently S070 structure updates with Floc value only incase the reference object in notification contains Floc and not equipment where as in my requirement we use 1:1 relation for reference objects and hence we need to see Floc in S070 structure with equipment.
Is there any way that we can modify the way S070 structure updates? As of now I am exploring on using user exit MCI10001 but have not get any success yet. Thanks!!

Much of this update logic is contained in specific code and you will not be able to influence by exit or other means. An option would be to create a custom defined infostructure based on S070.

Update Info structure S023

Hello All
Currently our info structure S023 period spilt is set for "month" and now they would like to change it into "week".
If we do this all current data in S023 will be lost.
My question is:
Is there a way to rebuild the structure after we have made the change from "month" to "week" and if there is, how is it done.
Been searching high and low for this information, but can't find anything on it.

Variant selection for SIS Info Structures

Greetings all,
Our management is heavily reliant on using SIS for reporting key sales figures. We just implemented ECC 6.0, and a new Info Structure table was created.
Their main complaint is with the Get Selection Variant process. When the icon is clicked, the "Find Variant" popup window displays with the User Name. When User Name is cleared, all variants are displayed. They want to bypass the Find Variant popup, and go directly to the complete variant display grid. This is the behavior they see on other Info Structures that were defined.
I have tried searching in a number of places, including SCN, SDN, SAP Notes using various search terms, with no success.
Would someone kindly point me in the right direction?

In general the GET VARIANT will show all the variant list.
And it is not created for user specific.
Could you please give the Info structure fields and report to displays the field.
In case if you created the Variant please check with your ID is it asking for the User name.
Even with a user id input is there any change in the list of Variants?

I have checked both BAPI but BAPI are not working as per our requirement.
Firstly we wanted to update progress parameter like measurement method(progress version,method plan,method actual) & POC weight into activity but as per BAPI given by you there is no any field available related to measurement method(progress version,method plan,method actual).
And secondly we wanted to update status profile residing in Activity tab not in network header or WBS.
Waiting for some more input related to query.

In my program I declared an internal table like this
ITAB TYPE TABLE OF ZABC WITH HEADER LINE.
At the end of the program, when I have the new info, I passed them into ITAB, and loop at it to update the Z table
LOOP AT ITAB.
    INSERT ZABC FROM ITAB.
ENDLOOP.
Then I got run time error saying

The maximum length of the long field of the specified table is defined
in the ABAP Dictionary. The current length of the long field corresponds
to the value of the preceding field, which consequently
must be numeric.
In this case, the value in this field was greater than the maximum value
defined for the long field in the ABAP Dictionary.
The term "long field" refers to all fields that are created in the ABAP
Dictionary with the data type STRING, RAWSTRING, LCHR, or LRAW.
The problem is at this position
LOOP AT ITAB.
   INSERT ZABC FROM ITAB.
ENDLOOP.
I know something wrong with the string type but I need to update the whole string structure for the whole record type (rather than updating field by field). need help! thanks!

hi,
the syntax would be as follows:
INSERT ZABC FROM TABLE ITAB ACCEPTING DUPLICATE KEYS.
This will discard the duplicate records & append all the other records from table itab into zabc.
LOOP ....... ENDLOOP statements are not required.

Trap Insert error for update

Hi, I've to insert/update records in pretty large table, and require an efficient way to do this. The majority of actions will be inserts, although there will be updates. How can I trap an insert constraint error and then do an update instead. Also, is this the most efficient way to do this??
