  • Error installing jmf-2_1_1e-linux-i586.bin

    h3. Hello,
    h3.
I'm trying to install jmf-2_1_1e-linux-i586.bin on a Linux(centos 5.1) system. I get the results at the end of this post after accepting the license agreement. I haven't found anything on the web or the bug database that has been helpful. I'm really at my wits end and could use a helping hand.
    h3.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Eran,
I guess, you can find the solution to your problem here:
It works well on Ubuntu, but since the error on Ubuntu looks exactly the same as on Centos, I think it should work for you as well.
    Cheers,
    Georg

  • Linking errors during install on Linux Mandrake

When I installed oracle (8.1.7) on linux mandrake I got a series of errors during
the very last portion of the install involving a bunch of *.mk files.
    The first error says:
Error invoking target relink of makefile
    $ORACLE_HOME/precomp/lib/ins_precomp.mk
All the others are virtually identical. I'm still pretty new to linux so I avoided
recompiling the kernel. Aside from that I followed the install instructions to the
letter. If anyone knows whats going on I would very much appreciate a push in
    the right direction.

Alright, I've tried using the most recent archboot (2011.02-2) a couple times. I selected GRUB2 x86_64 EFI. It asked me whether or not I wanted to convert my existing MBR to GPT. When I say no, it says installation was successful, when I say yes, it drops me into parted, so I just quit. My GPT should be fine as is.
My issue is that now, in rEFIt, I only get OS X and Legacy OS options. Legacy just freezes my computer. The legacy option has been there since I last tried to install, though I've tried to get rid of it a few different ways.
Should I choose a different bootloader option? Can I use the cd to boot in and fix it manually? if possible, I'd like to keep using rEFIt.

  • TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error on Oracle Enterprise Linux

    hi,
    I am getting -
TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error when I try to connect the Db installed on Oracle Enterprise Linux from other machines.
I made all the .bash_profile changes and created one shared listener also to check whether there is any problem with the dedicated default listener or its port.
    Please suggest the solution .

You need to open the firewall on OEL.
Edit the contents of /etc/sysconfig/iptables file. I added the line in bold:
    # Firewall configuration written by system-config-securitylevel
    # Manual customization of this file is not recommended.
    *filter
    :INPUT ACCEPT [0:0]
    :FORWARD ACCEPT [0:0]
    :OUTPUT ACCEPT [0:0]
    :RH-Firewall-1-INPUT - [0:0]
    -A INPUT -j RH-Firewall-1-INPUT
    -A FORWARD -j RH-Firewall-1-INPUT
    -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -i lo -j ACCEPT
    -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -p icmp --icmp-type any -j ACCEPT
    -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -p 50 -j ACCEPT
    -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -p 51 -j ACCEPT
    -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -p udp --dport 5353 -d 224.0.0.251 -j ACCEPT
    -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -p udp -m udp --dport 631 -j ACCEPT
    -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -p tcp -m tcp --dport 631 -j ACCEPT
    -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -m state --state ESTABLISHED,RELATED -j ACCEPT
    -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -m state state NEW -m tcp -p tcp dport 22 -j ACCEPT
    *-A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -m state state NEW,ESTABLISHED,RELATED -m tcp -p tcp dport 1521 -j ACCEPT*
    -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -m state state NEW -m udp -p udp dport 137 -j ACCEPT
    -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -m state state NEW -m udp -p udp dport 138 -j ACCEPT
    -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -m state state NEW -m tcp -p tcp dport 139 -j ACCEPT
    -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -m state state NEW -m tcp -p tcp dport 445 -j ACCEPT
    -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -j REJECT --reject-with icmp-host-prohibited
    COMMIT
As you can see, my listener port is 1521.
Do not put that line after the line with REJECT keyword ( it won't work then) !
Save and close the file. Restart iptables:
    /etc/init.d/iptables restart
Now you can connect from the outside.
It works on my OEL version 5 update 4.

  • Oracle Secure Backup- Error during configuration on Linux server

    Dear Gurus
We are trying to configure Oracle Secure backup with the Oracle StorageTek tape library, on the Oracle Linux server for testing purposes..
We are getting the following errors when we run the command to configure "discoverdev -ic -h orasecbak":
Checking each library to associate discovered drive(s) with DTE...
Assigning DTE 1 in library ora-sec-bk_lib_2 for drive ora-sec-bk_tape_1 with serial number: HUJ4411YD9

Error: dte2 didn't report serial number to ora-sec-bk_lib_1 library
The tape library is connected to the server using two fiber connections..thats why the sg_map -i -x is giving output twice for the same serial number...
.we installed Oracle Secure Backup 12.1
    Regards,
    Misbah

What about disk space on your database server, is that OK? How about free RAM on all the systems?
You can also check other kernel settings to see if you are running out of kernel message buffer space or shared memory.
    Thanks

  • SSL error Registering on Oracle Linux Network

I performed the following actions using Linux v4 update 4.
    [root@as1 ~]# rpm --import /usr/share/rhn/RPM-GPG-KEY
    [root@as1 ~]# up2date nox register
There was an SSL error: [('SSL routines', 'SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE', 'certificate verify failed')]
A common cause of this error is the system time being incorrect. Verify that the time on this system is correct.
I check the time and date. They are correct to the second.
Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Also , if i choose to ignore all these massages, database is installed. But, startup command fails giving following error :
ORA-01078: failure in processing system parameters
LRM-00109: could not open parameter file '/scratch/nnaveen/installations/ora_db11.2.0.1.0/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/dbs/initorcl.us.oracle.com.ora'
I guess its one of the side effect of database configuration assistant not working properly

    Hi,
I am using DAQmx-base (C library) on Linux with a USB-6009 device. When I am acquiring data
using DAQmxBaseReadAnalogF64() (the code is based on the example contAcquireNChan.c)
everything works, but when I am using DAQmxBaseReadBinaryI16() the following error
    happens:
DAQmxBase Error: Value passed to the Task/Channels In control is invalid.
Everything is the same just the ...AnalogF64 is replaced by the ...BinaryI16 function call
(of course the buffer used for storing the data was also changed from float64 to in16).
Does anyone know what settings (or missing settings) result in this error?
Every explanation or pointer to some documentation is welcome. I already checked the
C reference HTML documentation coming with DAQmx-base without success.
    Thanks
    Raphael
From the ReadMe file for DAQmx Base on Macintosh OS X:
    NI USB-9211
    *Analog Input
    -Multi-channel, multi-sample read (scaled)
    -Multi-channel, single sample read (scaled)
    NI USB-9215
    *Analog Input
    -Multi-channel, multi-sample read (scaled)
    -Multi-channel, single sample read (scaled)
    NI USB-6008/9
    *Analog Input
    -Digital start triggering
    -Multi-channel, multi-sample read (scaled)
    -Multi-channel, single sample read (scaled)
Raw input simply isn't supported for the USB devices. I would guess that the situation for Linux is the same, since DAQmx Base is based on Labview code in order to achieve cross-platform portability. See the thread
    http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=250&message.id=11873
and, for a slightly different problem:
    http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=250&message.id=11963
Be sure to read down to where there is a message indicating that support for USB devices is planned for NI-DAQmx. Of course, that won't help on Macintosh and Linux.

  • Report Compilation Error REP-1430 on Linux

    Good Day,

All the other report can convert into .rep
but there are 1 reports gives this error in the .tex file
    Conversion of CL3198.rdf canceled
    Inside the cmd it says

When i compile the report in the Report Builder 6i (ctrl + shift + K) it compiled successfully. I'm using the same schema in both Report Builder and cmd.
How can i resolve this? Please help.
    Thanks in advance.

Similar issue here. It happens with just a few reports. I can compile them on reports builder, but not using rwconverter.sh I am using 11.1.2.

  • Error installing package on Linux using SDM.

    Hello Everyone...
I am having an issue getting a package installed on RHEL using the SDM. The package I'm trying to install is BP SAP CRM 5.0 SP01. The error I'm getting is as follows (shortened for space and info reasons):
DeploymentActionException: The substitution of deployment parameter variables failed. The following variables could not be substituted because theyare not known by the SDM-Repository:com.sap.cm.shareTo fix this problem go to the SDM-Repository-View of the SDM GUIand define substitution values for these variables or correct thetype information. Please note these are not typos or gramatical errors. This is verbatim from the error message.
If I take a look at Deployment Parameter Substitutions ==> Public substitution variables, I do not see a com.sap.cm.share defined anywhere, but I have never had to define anything while installing this under Windows in the past with identical settings in the SDM GUI.
Is this just a simple matter of defining the variable, or could this be a permissions/config issue with Linux? If it does need defining, if anyone has any ideas what the variables should be would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

Just an FYI, the answer to this was found over at Re: Troublshooting While Deploying CRM 5.0 BP on Enterprise Portal 7.0 A word of warning, the parameter variable needs to be listed as Com.sap.cm.share (just as it is listed in the post). I had been trying it as com.sap.cm.share, and it would not work when I tried to save it. Also, for those new to Linux, you need to use the / character, not the \ character as shown on the forum post if you are installing it under Linux.
